It has become quite clear that no one could be trusted... but at the same time, not having anyone too trust seemed to be a fate worse than death. Monica was quite certain her one point of familiarity wasn't a werewolf... surely there would have been signs, or clues? Even if Beatrice was a werewolf, it seemed a safer bet to remain closer with her, at least it was someone to talk to on these harsh waters, and what has become harsher company.
The votes had been casted, and Aryann was sentenced to a water grave, but it would appear to be undeserving. That is 2 humans down! Odds grew worse in favour for humans, while these dogs remain free to feast at their leisure... this had to be stopped!
Monica sought out Beatrice, seeing what her thoughts were with all of this! "I really am not sure who I trust aboard this ship.... What are your thoughts about it? Any of these folks stick out to you?" As Monica spoke, she knew very well who stuck out in her own mind. For whatever reason her thoughts went to the new captain. How perfect would it be if the wolves found a way to get one of their own in charge, gaining trust, while stabbing those on board in the back. Seemed to be the perfect way to organize your dinners. Though was this what she wanted to share with Bea? Was she in on it, and relieving this thought painting a target on Monica's back?
Her other working theory is Pax's claim as protector.... if that were true, he announced to the dogs that he was fighting against them, making him the most important person to X out.... Unless.... Was that another ploy for building trust?
Monica waited to hear Beatrice's response... if she shared a similar thought process, perhaps Monica could share her own.
Night fell, but sleep wasn't had. Monica found herself tossing and turning in her sheets. Fear raging over her mind. Her eyes darting to the cabin door, anticipating it opening, and her need for a quick escape. Though eventually her eyes won the war, and a small amount of rest eventually came over her.... Then with the dawning of a new day, so was the discovery of a new body. Monica looked around the group of lost faces, trying to find anyone that may be the killer, but how would she know? She took it upon herself to walk around the cabin, attempting to either overhear conversations, or be welcomed into them, hoping to find the one responsible for this!

Aryaan Shamsi was a human, and he was dead. Akira narrowed his eyes at the news. Did he feel a little guilty for sparking the number of votes that led to his classmate getting 'killed'? Maybe just a little bit, but he was mostly annoyed that he had been wrong. He just had to try to forget about it, even though it bothered him a little that he had sacrificed his school's Champion to no avail.Roleplaying as Akira Shimizu from Mahoutokoro
"It was what I'd feared," he mused. "The wolves chose Rita for the first round, because she was an unresponsive person. They could kill her off without raising any suspicion towards themselves, and the only person who tried to interact with her was human -- one who could be easily framed." His dark eyes swept the faces on the deck. He had not meant to be such a vocal participant (he had wanted to be the most boring player in order to blend in and not get killed), but no one was talking very much. So, he could not resist speaking his mind, nor the urge to take charge of the situation. Akira Shimizu naturally craved opportunities to turn tides and rise to the helm, as much as he liked to deny it.
"Were they perhaps hoping that this boy (Bubba) who had been threatening Hunter would be blamed for his death, today?" he wondered out loud, trying to re-apply the pattern he saw. Saying so much was risky, now, but Akira had too many thoughts in that busy, analytical mind of his. "If that were the case, I wouldn't be inclined to vote for him (Bubba) to walk the plank." But would the wolves be anticipating everyone's ability to pick up on that pattern, and pre-emptively planned the opposite? By letting one of their own kill the person they obviously hated? There were still many points one would be unsure of.
But he had a plan in mind, and he decided to just go for it. "I'm going to vote Aurelia Notresvace today," he said. "She was the person who won five of the votes yesterday, after all, second to Aryaan Shamsi. I have a theory but I'm not going to say what it is. But if she dies, and we see whether she's revealed to be a wolf or human tomorrow, I can tell you what I think." Of course, he wasn't going to say too much, lest a target would be painted on his own back. He could only hope that the others would vote for Aurelia, too.

Emma was horrified when it came out that Aryaan was actually human. I mean that was the point of the game to make the best guess and hope for the best, but that still didn't make it right. Poor Aryaan. He really had no chance. "Well that's not good." Emma mused. "Now who could they be? Obviously they're very tricky." Emma was partially thinking out loud, trying to think of who had given even the slightest clue that they were the least bit tricky.
The worst bit was, another player had been 'killed', found alone. Emma felt bad for the poor person who no longer could participate in the activities, sure that they were disappointed. Though as more and more humans were killed, she was sure she would be wishing to be off the boat, only because it raised her chances of being the next one dead. Scrunching her nose, Emma did not like that thought even if it was only fake.
Emma heard Akira's thoughtful intentions, thinking that that was similar to her thought process earlier, when she was playing a bit of devil's advocate. Turning her head, she narrowed her eyes, trying to think of what or who was most suspicious.
She couldn't help but feel that maybe Akira was a little suspicious if only because of his vocalness. She didn't feel comfortable voting for Bubba, if only because it again was so obvious. Wouldn't the wolves have a bit more trickery then that?
Emma was even more suspicious when Akira held back his thoughts, curious as to what they were holding back. She pushed her hair behind her ear, and tried to decide if she could really vote how she was feeling, especially as they had been kind enough to join and participate in their little group. Quietly she cast her vote for Akira.

@Pax Zhang & @Xailah AlptraumHouse Colours: GryffindorCalming Presence is ACTIVE to ALLThe barrelman smiled as Duchess doted on his little leopard kitten. "Save him. Africa. Little lao-pahrd." He explained in broken English. Walter had been around and back again with his previous ship; the Pearly Siren. It had been a beautiful ship, a lovely crow's nest for Walter to stay in; high above the deck and close to the stars and moon. They had travelled everywhere from the Mediterranean (where Walter had stowed himself away to start with), to the Fijis and the Eastern ports of China and Japan, to Indonesia, around the Cape of Africa, to Turkey, Lato, and even a bit inland of Africa, like Ghana (where he had had the pleasure of coming into possession his silvery kitten by means of light pickpocketing and deception). The Pearly Siren had mostly been a mercantile ship, under the flag of Britain if the boy remembered correctly, though he had never been able to go north with the ship until just recently when there had been news of pirates and brigands on the high seas and on the land. Because the Siren was so well built for ocean combat (being highly maneuverable and deadly with her weaponry despite her luxurious and plush first appearance), it would become her job to send goods (material and human passengers alike) straight to England herself, and to destroy any ships that carried the pirate flag along the way.
Suddenly Walter's job had become twofold; to not only search for land and ensure that they kept the same course at night, but to make sure that if there was a pirate ship on the water, that the boy would inform and call out what he saw to the rest of his shipmates. He had little experience in the way of combat or boarding, and indeed, the only thing he had been good for when a small infringement on the ship was made in that fashion was to scamper around like a mouse on floorboards and take slices at people's ankles and legs with a small "safety knife" (OOC: that he does not have right now because this is a story and not real) that was less a dagger and more of a very well sharpened and made to be jagged piece of whalebone.
Suffice to say, while on the water towards England, a disease had sprung up on the Siren, and Walter, though distanced from them by nature of his specific job, knew that he would not likely be lucky for much longer. So the next chance he got, he deserted her and made for the only other ship in port; the Chaos Demon.
Walter nodded along with Duchess as she mentioned the beauty of staying in the Nest at night. Walter never could handle small, enclosed spaces well. He had seen one too many times prisoners or other young boys like himself caught and tried for acts of pickpocket and theft. Walter had been a lucky one, always either eluding capture or pinning the act on someone else. It was not a pride of his... but it was how he had survived. "Gives purpose." He finally mentioned at last in response to her comments on the freedom of the nest.
"Belonged to other ship. Pearly Siren" Walter spoke all his words with a heavy accent and patchwork emphasis on syllables except for Pearly Siren. "Take me for good eyes." He indicated to his bright green gaze. "Spotted land... from... 13 kilo-meter off on fog day. 22 when clear. Never mirage." He pet Rimmer again, who was purring up a storm from the attention ladled on him by both Walter and Duchess. "Before... petty thief. Thin fingers good for locks e tools, on lookout for forze. law enforcement" Walter shook his head. "No go back, only forward. Nothing left there. Only la morte..." Walter looked up at the sky, squinting a bit at the blue. "Someday... I am fay-mousse. Someday, I am gentleman. Soon. Maybe later. But someday."
The wishes of a young boy, though unsure of how to meet his fortune... Walter knew that one day he would be part of high society... able to be comfortable in the world and not have to worry about being caught or imprisoned.
Even if he didn't know what being high society entailed, or that it was just that; a gilded cage in disguise.A red feather was in the hat of Walter Wolf as he scurried down from his crow's nest to find people already gathered around the body of another person. Rubbing sleep from his eyes, Walter joined the crowd, trying to assimilate sleepy brain thoughts with Rimmer yawning as well. Hugging himself tightly and stretching a bit, Walter had by now gotten used to there being blood everywhere. Whose responsibility was it to be scrubbing this thing every day? It it was Walter's job, he knew that he would have quit by now.¡ | π | !
And now it was time to vote once again, this time with a slew of new accusations and theories. First and foremost... Walter suspected the people who had voted for Aryaan the day before. Not because they had been wrong in their theories, but because there had been so many of them. Logically, it would make sense for the wolves to band together and use their advantage as being a unified cause towards combating the disorganized mess of human paranoia. Among these... he found himself drawn to the girl Vivienne. She was quiet and kept to herself, yes, but she had quickly jumped on with Akira on voting for Aryaan and had not questioned a single thing about facts and logic. Truthfully, that brought more suspicion upon Akira as well...
Ohhh.... if only they knew who the hunter and protectors were for certain...
He had to try.
"I... not protect or hunt." Walter started softly when it had quieted a bit... "I am human, as far as I think." He wrung his fingers nervously as he felt his heart race a bit more. He could seriously be putting a target on his back... and he would never know it. He swallowed tightly, eyes flicking between everyone nervously. "Check Pax? Yes? Anyone seen defend at night? I have not." Fishing for a potential match for a defender and a hunter... maybe people would start figuring out roles better and be able to strategize better because of it. As a basic human... Walter had no power other than that of democracy and logic... and even then, those attributes were not strong nor impressive in the kid.
Duchess held suspicions on someone who had voted for Aryaan as well... though Walter felt that maybe it would be best to not try and associate himself with one person for too long out of fear of others thinking that they were in kahoots. After voting for his choice, he would explain himself to Duchess the same thought of avoiding suspicions of the two of them being a total partnership in broken English and hand signals.Suspects:Walter Suspects/(votes) VivienneReducioRelationships:
Charles: Okayish... I get a bit worried when he gets close. He's certainly as strong-looking as a werewolf is.
Dealla Barfield: I doubt she's a wolf (unless Charles was). There's a high chance that as a newcomer she'll be targeted. If she's not... maybe she is a wolf. Also voted for Aryaan.
Aurelia Notresvace: Bad vibes all around. I don't trust her in the slightest. She didn't even say a word at the first meeting. Maybe that speaks to something else.
Akira: Seems strategic and collected. I notoriously distrust these types. Consider them a potential risk. He was the first to level something against Aryaan.
Quinn: Seems upset by this. Maybe she knows that she's the one doing it? Maybe she's being legitimate? Voted for Aryaan.
Pax: One of the ones that seemed to form a certain sect of voting for one another. Is there an alliance between some people here? Are the wolves working together? Why am I suspected by them? Pax claims to be the protector... but we have no way of knowing who is protected the night before, not helpful to trying to figure out the real protector or if Pax is bluffing. I don't suspect Pax, per say, but I do consider them a potential liar, and it is likely that the others do too... and if they were a healer, why wouldn't the wolves have taken them out tonight?
Xailah: Looks like a captain. Also looks shady... but I'd rather put my trust in someone who at least trusts me back a bit than someone who thinks I'm crazy. Be cautious, but also hopeful. She likes my cat! Also, it seems that she puts trust back in me, and I'm more than willing to help in whatever way possible. We both want out of the situation, after all.
Hunter: Seems a bit like me in a way that I can't quite place. May need a bit more time to assess him.
Vivienne: Quiet... cast a vote quickly and seemed unbiased. Observe. Voted for Aryaan. I think this makes her highly suspicious. Either a wolf or a sheeple.
Nessie: Also rather blank insofar as assessments. Observe.
Sophia: Impressive collection of 12 votes total. She must be liked... but maybe her voters are worth looking at for suspect (potential blending in with the crowd), even if she is a confirmed human. Duchess suspects her a lot, which I don't blame, but I (OOC) don't think that it is possible for the wolves to place one of their own as a leader (correct me if I am wrong).
Aryaan: Seems to be a voice of reason and not immediately jumping to pointing fingers. Voted for me... but still keep an eye out.
Emma: A prefect at our school, but titles don't matter at sea. May try to use the position of authority as an upper hand. Seems mostly to herself. Not a red flag, per say, but something of note.
Opelia: Strange, almost shady. I'd keep an eye on her, though a cunning mind may prove helpful in this strait.
EmmaLee: Another young one, but I don't put it past young people. They often have more wisdom than the most ancient adult. Voted with Duchess and I on Aurelia. Either a ploy to sustain trust, or maybe she knows something we don't... or maybe she trusts us.
Beatrice: Duellist, may have experience with strategy. If we determine her role, it may reveal more about how to act with her allies.
Astrid: Seems skeptical, and is a friend of Charles'. Sounds like she suspects me a bit.. but I can't control how others think. Also voted for Aryaan.
Florian: I need more time to assess. Voted with Duchess and I on Aurelia, see above on "EmmaLee"
Monica: I need a bit more time to assess. Stay wary. Voted for Aryaan.
I am certain that at least one of the people who voted for Aryaan is a wolf.
Keep an eye on these people.

Bubba awoke from an uneasy sleep and went back on deck to see if anything had happened that night. Sure enough, something had and his heart sank. It was Hunter, dead. It was so sad to him. Not sad that he was dead, Bubba had to stop himself from doing a little jig when he saw the body. No, he only felt regret because he had been determined to make Hunter walk the plank. To suffer the same humiliation he'd suffered at Hunter's hands. He wanted him to feel that shame as he walked the plank, soon to depart to the watery depths below.
Still, he knew what was going to happen. Some were no doubt going to start accusing him of killing Hunter. As if he would be that stupid. He wouldn't publically walk straight up to Hunter and accost him just to kill him the next day. Did they not understand how stupid that sounded? Still, he decided that he would preemptively start defending himself to dispel any rumors are suspicions. He decided to just walk over to the closest group of people and start talking.
"Ok... I know what you're all thinking. I walked up to Hunter and started talking that shit after Rita was killed. I am telling you, right now, that I did not kill Hunter. God knows I would've liked to but I didn't. To be perfectly honest with you all, I wouldn't have killed him because I wanted the satisfaction of watching him walking the plank before plunging to the watery depths below. That may sound extreme to you but if he'd done to any of you what he did to me, you'd understand. And no, I'm not going to talk about it, because as far as I'm concerned it's in the past, and will be buried at sea with Hunter." Bubba decided to pause before launching into a dramatic finish. "And if you don't believe me, I'll happily walk the plank myself, it'll have been worth it just to see that piece of shit's dead, lifeless corpse."
He decided that was probably far enough. If they believed him, great, if not, it was what it was. He himself was stymied. He had been so hung up on getting rid of Hunter that he hadn't paid that much attention to everyone else. All he knew was the Hunter had cast a long look at Pax after Rita had died. Did that mean that Hunter had found Pax out and been silenced? Bubba had been so hung up on revenge that he only now started to think of self-preservation. He decided he should share his suspicions with the crew, "Look, all I'm saying is that one person voted for Pax, and now that person, of all people, is the one to get smoked."

And at that moment, she had to vote for someone who would be potentially guilty of Rita and Hunter's death. Astrid knew very well that the captain's death was in the game and that no matter what the wolves did, he would be dead. She knew that Rita, Aryaan and Hunter were alive. Hogwarts was a dangerous school, but the organizers would not voluntarily kill several students for a game! Especially after the death of the Koldovstoretz students in the spring. That would be extremely stupid.
Astrid was never afraid of much. So a bunch of werewolves hanging out on a very insecure boat? A bunch of werewolves that have already killed two people? That didn't scare her. It was just a game. The dead looked very dead but it was still a game. It was really the best game of Werwolf Astrid had ever played.
Well, now it was time to vote for a potential student "killer". The girl's first suspect was Piérre - sorry, Walter. Since the beginning of the game, Astrid thought that Walter was too dramatic to be true. In a theatre scene it would be perfect. Except that this was not a play. And the fact that he was often the first to react. Astrid was a self-proclaimed professional at the Werwolf. She knew that the first to react were either werewolves, or people who were really convinced of what they said. And Walter's resonances didn't always make sense.
— Personally, I think Walter is pretty suspicious. From the beginning he's been throwing accusations around. And he fakes. His reactions are too dramatic.

When they waited for a response to their declarations, Xailah decided to step up.
"That's a very big claim you've just made," the elder lion tipped her head curiously, "and a possible death sentence if it isn't a bluff."
Pax nodded in agreement, not wanting to make a further statement for this round. They think they'd said enough for others to digest in this round.
In the following morning, with the sad announcement of Hunter's death, they examined the others' reactions. They hadn't been blind to Bubba McGarry's aggression towards Hunter previously, and it did raise suspicions towards him. However, if they were the wolves- and they weren't- that would make Hunter a prime target to throw suspicion on Mr McGarry. But also onto Pax themself, since that seemed to be whom they had cast a vote for.
It was time to make yet another declaration. And this time, they'd have a new target they'd attempt to convince their innocence to.
"As I promised to do, I will say whom I protected the last night. I won't lie, I protected myself. I'm sorry Xailah, but I was worried that I wouldn't be safe and wouldn't get to defend my case. However, I think I can see a potential strategy, which would make sense to keep me alive for.
Hunter died last night, and his suspicions were cast upon me. So, therefore, it would make sense for me to eliminate him. However, if you believe I am telling the truth about being the protector, then I cannot have killed him. So, it seems as if I am being scapegoated, which is quite probable. Either myself, or Mr Bubba McGarry, or both of us are, since we seem to have the most connections to the most recently deceased. Yet, given the suspicions that seem to be cast upon me from Mr McGarry over there, I would suspect he is the most suspicious of me. If my belief that those who are suspicious of me are going to die, self-centred as they may be, are correct, that means that he will be the next to die. So I will either protect him, despite his vote likely heading for my head, or again protect myself. Again, ideally, we will both survive. But, if not, then it will be clear who I protected. If anybody would like to claim to be a hunter and state if they have clarified my identity, feel free.
As for my vote, I will continue my assessments of others. In truth, I will likely follow someone in voting, so if votes have already been cast for me, then they are outnumbered, so I am able to protect someone this night. That may make me more suspicious, yes, but I like to hope you all can see that I am being as earnest as I can be."
They looked at Mr McGarry, not suspiciously, but with intrigue. Hopefully, they had convinced them. There was always the chance that he was a killer, and potentially they'd fallen straight into their trap, but at this moment this was the best idea that they had. All they could hope was that others would back up their idea.Vote: Akira ShimizuReducio

Monica listened as conversations spun around on deck, accusations being tossed left and right, defences, and heated anger arising throughout the deck. It was clear all were on edge. The time now was praying your own name wasn't getting voted in, and you could survive another day.
Grim to think we left all the horror, just to end up someone else's meal, or scape goat on this vessel.
Most of the conversations Monica tuned out... trying to pay enough attention to gauge where the vote was swinging, but also not too much due to most of these defences were a plea to spare a person's life. However when Bubba spoke up, sharing his peace, it struck a chord for Monica, what he was saying was true for some of her own speculations... what if Pax was trying to cover up his hunger, by claiming to be a protector? And wouldn't it then make sense to get rid of anyone who accused you?
That being said, if Monica cast her vote in that direction.... would she be next on the chopping block? "perhaps it's better to dye following your heart in truth, than to attempt to save yourself and letting those guilty get away with it all."
"I agree with Bubba! I don't trust someone so quick giving away their desire to protect us....going as fair to state he protected himself? Perhaps his protection was in not being the desired target of the wolves? For this reason, and as Bubba pointed out with Hunter voting for Pax the other night.... My vote is to Pax! And if this kills either myself, or Bubba, then let that be a sign for those of you left on this ship!" Monica had never attempted speaking in front of a crowed before. But after finishing her piece, and submitting her vote, she walked off to the side of the ship, waiting for the fate of someone to be revealed.

The immense pressure of having no one to talk to and everyone to distrust kept building and building as Bea found that another was dead. And unfortunately her instincts had been wrong on the whole Hunter front. He was one of the good guys, a human just travelling abroad the ship who ended up dead. How was it that the wolves kept getting ahead of the humans? Did they have an inside person? Her thoughts drifted towards their favourite captain. Nines votes. A lot really when one thought about it. Sure, some people would be sheep and vote along with the crowd, but nine people to vote for one person? Bea was suspicious at that. She was glad when Monica came and found her among the sleeping quarters, looking for clues. She listened whilst Monica told her suspicion upon suspicion. And Bea agreed. "Absolutely. It's strange that nine people voted for Sophia, or shall I say, Captain Bluemane." Bea rolled her eyes at the nonsense. How one person carried so many votes she wasn't sure. "And she is always in league with Pax! A tie in with more wolves?"
Coming up with Monica, the red head slightly behind the Slytherin, Bea caught the end of Monica's agreement with Bubba. Bea had to admit, her housemate had excellant points on Hunter and Pax. "I find it a bit strange that Pax would so quickly protect himself, especially with his alliance with the new captain." Bea had been so cuaght up in trying to survive herself, she hadn't really listened to anyone else. That immense pressure of having to solve this puzzle alone was vanishing as the girl listened to more and more reasons to who was behind what. And somehow was not surprised that others also agreed upon their distrust of Pax. It was time for him to go.
