As they exited the Hogwarts Express, Sebastian found himself separated from his travel buddies; this fact might have alarmed him if not for the view which awaited them beyond. As the carriages which carried them from Hogsmeade toward the school halted, awe wormed its way into every fiber of his being. He cast his gaze out across the abyss of lake and sky, only the stars serving to truly differentiate the two as darkness had fallen during their long journey from King's Cross Station.

His mouth lolled open slightly as he gawped up at the stars and tried to spot the constellations held within, those he and his Father had often taken to admiring throughout his life. They were just as bright now as they tended to be above his secluded homestead, with nary a thing to mute them save for the light of lanterns which proved meek in comparison.

It wasn't until the First Years were called for a second time that he was snapped from his haze, and in response he hurried away from the train and toward the two awaiting Professors (at least, he presumed them to be such given their ages, they didn't seem to match Alina so even Seventh Years didn't seem feasible.)

Introductions were given insofar as the Caretaker and the Professor were concerned, but though he did his best to listen to what came next much of it was overshadowed by his first real look into some of the upcoming curriculum he'd come to expect.

"Astronomy?" the boy whispered, to whoever was stood to his right. He didn't even turn his head enough to find out exactly who it was, for in that moment it didn't really matter who he said it to half as much as that he said it at all. Excitement bristled up within him, and the gawping turned into something of a brazen grin. It was softened only by the gnawing anticipation of what was to come, and the realization of how much time he'd be spending across this very lake.

So far from home... So far from his family.

Soon they were splitting off into different boats, and though he knew it probably made more sense for him to join the other students Sebastian couldn't help but be drawn toward that of the Professor. "Do we really get to learn about the stars?" he asked rather eagerly, as he slipped into one of the seats. "Oh, I can't wait!" Stars, plants, and animals... That was his trinity.

It left him wondering just what else lay within his future here at Hogwarts.

Finley stood on the shore until every student was seated, observing as their faces lit up with excitement or clouded with nerves. After ensuring the first years were settled in, she took her place next to Farron. "I forgot how excitable first-years can be," she quietly quipped in the astronomy professor's ear.

"Right then, everyone ready?" Fin looked around, so far everyone was remaining seated. "Forward!" At her command, the boats instantly began to glide away from the dock, the lanterns at the front of the boats swaying slightly at the movement. If a student tried to investigate what was causing the boats to move, they would find no propellors or oars guiding the enchanted boats into the water. The expanse of the lake was covered in an ethereal mist, mostly blocking out the view of the castle for the time being. No matter, they would enter a clearing soon enough.

Fin smiled at the enthusiasm of the student that was brave enough to join the two adults. "Seems like someone is excited for your class, Professor." She looked up at the sky, the clouds of the storm creeping closer to the group. The winds had picked up slightly, hopefully they would reach the Hogwarts castle before the rain reached them. But there was no use fretting on what may or may not happen, so the caretaker turned her attention back to the occupants of her boat. "This is your first trip across the lake too, isn't it, Farron? Seems like you already have something in common with..." Finley's words fell off as she realized the didn't know the student's name.

The sky lit up as a stray bolt of lightning cracked above the lake, the thunder rumbling across the water. Hopefully none of the first-years were frightened by loud noises...

EmmaLee speaks with a light French accent.

EmmaLee put her hand to her mouth and giggled a little at Seven's clarification. "It is nice to meet you, Seven. Is there a story behind your name or is it just so?" She asked with a curious tip of her head. For a moment, she paused to think that maybe that was an invasive question for a first meeting. Hmm.. well... it was already out there, so she let it be. She was sure he would let her know if it was too personal or rude to ask.

After a moment of awkward thought between the three of them, Seven asked about houses, which seemed to be the biggest question on anyone's mind today. EmmaLee twirled a lock of white hair still loose near her face nervously as she answered. May as well go ahead and put the outsider target on her back if it must be there. Hopefully all of Hogwarts was as welcoming as those she had met at the summer camp.

"Um. I actually don't know a lot about the Hogwarts houses since I'm the first of my family to go here." She said, being extra careful to pronounce her 'h's. Sometimes they go lost in her nervousness. EmmaLee tried to always put on a friendly face, but sometimes she was afraid that people saw right through her. She leaned over the boat and looked into the water distractedly as she said, "I was thinking that I might fit Ravenclaw...."She tipped her head to the side, studying the water and leaning over just a bit closer to look into the murky depths, her hands on the side of the boat to steady herself."...but I'm not very settled on it. I think they all seem like good houses." She finished airily, looking at her watery reflection surrounded by stars, the boat dock, and the backs of Finnegan's, Miss Greer's, and another boy's heads.

The boats jostled a little and EmmaLee dipped a little further out of the boat, barely catching herself from falling in. The tip of her small, pinkish nose did touch the water though, causing a ripple to sprout and collide with the ripples caused by the now moving boats around her. For a moment, she swore she could see a large eye swirling in the ripples that was a different color than her own, but once she blinked curiously a couple of times, her own reflection settled on the quite water and whatever she thought she saw was gone.

EmmaLee turned to sit properly in the boat again and looked to her boatmates. "Um... What about you, Seven? What house are you hoping for?" She said, putting the apparently now wet strand of hair behind her ear and looking from Seven to Finnegan and back.

Cyrus had kept quiet until now, ever since leaving the train, alone. He hadn't been seating with anyone, as people seemed to avoid him since he was reading. Probably they wanted to leave him to the peace and quiet, which isn't necessarily the most interesting thing. He'd spent his time on the train relaxed and alone and hadn't sought out people. No need, he'd be meeting MANY soon. As he was carried by a wave of people as teeny as him, his movement wasn't under his control anymore. When the children started getting on the boats, he spotted one that was nearly full and embarked on it, although until now he had kept quiet, mostly because he was observing the water and Hogwarts.

When EmmaLee asked in which house he hoped to be, that arose as the perfect occasion to barge into the conversation without any of his usual brutal extroversion. Learning to be delicate IS important. "Hmm... that's a pretty casual question, no? You can separate people in three groups: people who hesitate between being Ravenclaw or Slytherin, people who have genuinely no idea where they're gonna go, and end up sorted in Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, and more rarely Slytherin, or people who are sure they are Gryffindor and end up sorted in Gryffindor. He's probably in the first group, he looks Raven.. Raverynish? Does that exist as a term? Eh... probably not."

Ending her response to Marcela as the two girls got comfortable inside the small wooden boat it wouldn’t be long until a familiar voice approached asking if it was okay to join the two of them. Looking across towards the shoreline with her bright blue hues, the young Irish girl would see one of the young girls she had met on her train journey to the school waiting for a response. Making more room in the boat on her side whilst carefully making sure not to rock the boat, if possible, Alora smiles as she turns to Crystal to respond.

“Of course Crystal, it would be great to have you here” she smiled warmly as she turns her attention to Marcela briefly to introduce Crystal to her. “Erm… this is Crystal we met on the Hogwarts Express” she chuckled lightly running her pale fingertips through her blonde hair in the attempt to tie it up into a loose ponytail before the boat journey would begin. Although the young blonde had been feeling rather overwhelmed since leaving London this morning the conversations held on the Hogwarts Express had been a welcomed distraction that she truly didn’t know she had needed at the time.

Unaware completely of how much her life would soon be changing forever a part of the young girl longed for home as her unique mind became filled with aspects of self-doubt. What made her so special considering now she was a witch? Did she truly have what it took to be a good member of the wizarding world? Did she have what it took to complete her new classes? Was she smart enough to get good grades at school? Countless questions spiralled in the forefront of her mind but soon enough she would be pulled back to the present when the boats would suddenly move forward as the sky above lit up with a loud crash of thunder and lightning startling the young girl a little but not enough to react outwardly.

Moving forward onto the lake as the lights of the shoreline became tiny dots of light in the distance the boat became surrounded almost in complete eery darkness their surroundings illuminated gently by the glow of the lantern attached to the rear of the boat. Their journey to Hogwarts was now in full sail ahead.

Marcela was pleasantly surprised when another girl joined them, she was more than happy to have her join in on their rickety little boat. The blond offered her a shy smile, not entirely trusting herself to speak as suddenly the boat started to move through the water. She gripped the side of the boat tightly, her fingernails digging into the wood a bit.

"This still doesn't feel entirely real, I mean, I've heard my parents' stories about Hogwarts but to actually be here is... wow." Marcela said, to no one in particular. "Do you guys have any idea what houses you might be in?" she asked, unsure as to where she herself would be placed. Her parents were in different houses, and neither sides of the family had been predictably in one house over the years. Her parents both thought she would end up in Ravenclaw like her mother, but Marcela wasn't sure that she shared the same sentiment.

Marcela had never been truly afraid of the dark, but she was thanking her lucky stars for the little lantern on the front of their boat. It would be even more terrifying to be in the middle of the lake completely blind as to their surroundings. That being said, she could not wait to be safely on the ground once more instead of floating upon the depths of the Great Lake in such darkness.

"This is so much cooler than Bristol." she murmured, taking in the sights as they made their way across the lake. Her words were true enough, even if she rarely spent any extended amounts of time in her hometown.

CJ walked off the train okay actually it was more of a excited but nervous hop. CJ had grabbed her normal and plant pets luggage when she heard “First years, you’re with me! Leave your luggage behind, please!” CJ looked at the voice then back at her plant luggage before she quickly hugged it and whispers "I'll see you guys soon" then runs towards the voice.

CJ arrives just as they were boarding the boats and CJ felt a sick. CJ looks back at her plant luggage with teary eyes. She never leaves her plant babies to fend for themself. She got onto one of the boats not even looking to see which one. CJ hoped that she got into the right one mostly because she wasn't listening. CJ tries to focus on anything else where she finally saw the water. The water was almost glistening? CJ focus on the water a lot taking in the movements, the color, anything and everything. She hoped she could remember all the details so she can draw the lake when she gets the chance were CJ is assuming it'll be soon. CJ is fully in this magical world she didn't know existed.

When Rosa opened the door to see one of the professor's with a letter I was so confused. Rosa knew the professor but before anyone can ask anymore questions the professor was gone. CJ found out that Rosa was a witch but she didn't expect CJ to be one. I have no idea were my magical genes came from. The feeling of confusion, and interest was the only thing driven her and the fact that she doesn't know how to get home. CJ was itching to draw at the moment. The water was so beautiful and she wants to capture all of the essence well it's fresh in her mind.

Efelion had been silent on the travel to the boats, he was to awe struck by the large castle looming over the lake before them. When his name was called he slowly walked forwards leaving all his things behind. Except for what he had in his robes already. The night sky was so dark and the only light was the castle and its reflections on the water.

Efelion wondered what awaited them all in the castle, he had heard the stories from his parents but they did not do it justice. Efelion took a deep breath as he walked over to the boats and silently entered one without really asking, too awestruck by the almost immersive moment. He was completely blind to everything around him except the atmosphere and beauty of what was around him.

This was it, this was what he had been waiting for since his letter, even before, his parents were always telling him about how going to the school was the most important part of life. Efelion was excited but also anxious about what awaited him, it was an experience unlike any other he had ever been given. The unknown was exciting for him but it was also a sense of foreboding as he looked into the lake and saw nothing bar the reflection of the castle.

Efelion started to come back to reality for a bit as he heard people chatting around him as the boats took off. He had accidentally ended up in a boat that was full of others he didn’t even know. As they spoke Efelion worked up the courage to speak to them and slowly turned to face them.

“I apologize for not asking to join I was a bit… taken aback by the site” Efelion spoke softly looking around “I hope I am not intruding on anything.” as he apologized he took a glance at everyone just to see who he had ended up in the boat with.

Smiling brightly as the fellow blonde female greets Crystal with open arms to the boat they would enter Hogwarts on, Alora couldn’t help but feel grateful for the experiences she had encountered so far on what would be her very first day at her new school. Hearing how Marcela had been told stories of Hogwarts by her parents yet still seemed to be struggling to comprehend how she was here also beginning her journey as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry the young Irish lass couldn’t help but giggle amusedly.

Being a muggle-born and not knowing that magic or the wizarding world existed until just a few months ago, Alora could somewhat relate “I know what you mean… I mean it wasn’t until a couple of months ago that I learned this whole world existed now being here I honestly feel like I am in some kind of dream that I’m going to be waking up from at any moment” she states in her Irish twang as she runs her fingertips lightly through her hair enjoying the light breeze across the lake’s surface. “I mean I don’t really know what I expected to happen today, but I know it wasn’t this, I mean I have already met people that don’t think I’m just weird and crazy like back home” she chuckles a little before hearing another voice.

Deeply lost in conversation with both Marcela and Crystal it wasn’t until the group had pulled away from the shoreline that another student sat beside them. A young brunette male spoke up asking if it was alright for him to sit with the three of them as he hoped that he wasn’t interrupting anything. Turning her bright blue gaze in the direction the voice had come from noticing him for the first time Alora smiled politely. “Well it is a free country there’s no need to ask, I mean I know I’m more than happy to have you sit with us the more the merrier but please don’t think you’re interrupting anything” she responded as she chuckled before hearing Marcela’s question as the boat sailed out to sea.

“Houses? I heard about that briefly when one of the Professors came to tell my family and I about the whole wizarding world thing. Something about there are four houses and we will be sorted into one of them which will basically be our family here at school but bar that I don’t really know much about the whole houses or where I think I may be placed... how about you?” she smiles asking all three of them in the boat as she gazes across the darkened horizon. Alora was more than fascinated in the whole event that the first day of school had held so far and deep down she knew it was only going to continue even after they arrived at the school.

Noticing that she wasn’t the only one lost in thought over the sights that were coming into view, Alora smiled brightly being brought back into the conversation as the blonde female she now knew as Marcela announced how the place seemed cooler than Bristol, she can’t help but respond. “Oh, you’re from Bristol? What was that like? I’m from Galway myself well just on the outskirts on a farm we own... Where are you all from?” she asked clearly curious.

After the train... The boat

When the Hogwarts Express arrived, Lyam woke up and got off the train. Not quite awake yet, it took him a while to figure out where to go, even as he heard a woman shouting to the first years, of which he was one, to come towards her. He followed the small crowd of first years and found himself in front of a dark-haired, brown-eyed woman who stood upright. She said a few words that Lyam barely understood, still half asleep. Then she stepped to the side, revealing the splendour of the site, which made Lyam wake up completely. He had before him the most wonderful sight he had ever seen. The castle stood proudly in all its magnificence. A large lake still separated them from this magical place.
And to cross this lake, a few small boats, so small that they looked like they could break at any moment. But Lyam was confident, because he knew that the adults would not let an accident happen. The caretaker urged them to take their places in the boats and everyone rushed to the water's edge. Lyam took his time and when he arrived at the boats, he found only empty boats. The others were already full. He sat down in his boat, hoping that there would be someone with him because making a trip alone, however short, was no fun. He put his book in the small backpack he had brought with him, he didn't want to damage it, and sat down, waiting for the departure.
