Whether as revenge for that earlier bind or a recognition of her talent, Phaedra would mark Rose as her threat number one. Of course, that meant effortlessly flicking a blindfold towards her in hopes that it would draw fire, but the oppressive nature of said tactic was not lost on the foreigners either. Before her own vision was stripped away, Phaedra's wand suddenly convulsed and sent a cooling, pale vapour to swirl around Rose's ankles. Had she been unfamiliar with the quirks of phoenix feather, this would have come as a great revelation—instead its choice in spells degraded it to utterly pointless. “...Well, don't help them.” For someone who prided herself on a close-knit wand, she believed that if the thing was going to disobey it may as well make it worthwhile. Extinguo, of all things? What a bore.

For all the dancing Cade was doing to avoid streaks of magic, none of the spells seemed to come his way. But it was always better to be safe than sorry. At the end of the round two out of the six duelists were blindfolded. The young Ravenclaw was relieved it wasn't himself, but he worried for Phaedra who seemed unable to avoid being targeted. Cade wondered where this match would go. There were so many avenues to navigate and while many were weakened and vulnerable no one was yet out of the duel. Cade's gaze flicked over his opponents analytically, sizing up the match as a whole. Where would it be at the end of the next round?

The duel had reached a critical moment. Nessie briefly wondered if there was unknown magic at work here; when the duellists moved to cast their next spells, it all went very well or very poorly.

Ravenclaw had a great showing, with Cade removing his partner's blindfold as Phaedra cast the best shield charm Nessie had ever seen. Admittedly, Nessie hadn't seen very many shield charms, but that only served to increase her awe and admiration of the feat she'd just witnessed.

The other teams would not be so fortunate.

This time, Aurelia assisted with removing her partner's blindfold, and it was Rose who attempted healing magic, but Nessie winced as it looked like the spell hurt instead of helped. It seemed healing magic just wasn't working out for the Gryffindors so far.

To make matters worse for Rose, Verona cast a near-flawless knockback jinx that not only struck the Gryffindor, but knocked her over as well. Nessie observed carefully to ensure that Rose was alright to continue, ready to intervene but realizing that the girl was tough enough to keep going. In an impressive display of team synchronization, Milosh also cast a knockback jinx, but it bounced off of Phaedra's invisible shield. This cruel twist of fate caused the spell to strike its caster, and Nessie couldn't help but grimace sympathetically.

Maybe later. If her wand, with the core of a phoenix feather, was heating up, it was definitely not a good sign to try her luck casting a more offensive spell. There was the risk of a backfire that would sabotage her team's chances of winning, and that was the last thing she wanted. So for now, she let her wand rest. "Let me," she said, as she moved to unravel the bind on her teammate's head.

A raise of her eyebrow as a cool breeze of air flooded their way. "Extinguo? Uh, thank you?" Neither of the two looked like they were on fire. But perhaps, although she wouldn't know, was fellow phoenix's attempts in helping douse another overheating phoenix feather core. If anything, she was glad to see she wasn't the only one who conversed with their own wand. "If you don't mind me asking, what's your wand's core?" A duelling stage really wasn't a too convenient place for a conversation like such. At least the other brazen boy's attempts at flirting had ceased.

"Give me a second," She mumbled a sigh as her teammate was flung across the stage, a glare shot at the aggressor. Rose really wasn't looking very good. And she would do anything in her power to help the poor girl... if it wasn't for her headstrong wand. Rose was much nicer, contrary to her previous terrifying duel partner and roommate, Regina Miller. "Come on, hun," She encouraged once more.

The Durmstrang boy was focused. He'd cast the Knock Back Jinx once more, trying to take advantage of the Ravenclaw girl's blindoflded situation. With his wand pointed towards her, he'd chant out a quick "Flipendo" and watch the spell crackle out from the end of his wand.

Turning his head just in time to see Ronnie cast a brilliantly strong Knock Back Jinx at Rose. He was about to cheer for his teammate before a sharp whistle came towards his direction.

Attention diverted once again, his eyes widened as a spell came darting his direction. Next thing he knew, the boy was on the ground, mouthful of sand.

"Damn was that my own spell?" Milo groaned, taking a moment to recover on the ground. He'd glance over at his intended target and saw a light shimmer, the sign of a successful Protego. It also had appeared her blindfold was removed by her companion. Damn, bad timing. Well, he had to give her that, the girl was a genius and lived up to her house stereotype.

Wiping the sand off his face, Milo glanced at the back of his hand to see a smear of blood. Touching his face, he'd feel his busted lip and slight swelling of his cheek. Sure, the rest of his body ached like hell but he wasn't giving up quite yet. He was still standing and wouldn't back down just due to a few scrapes and bruises.

Giving a reassuring nod towards Ronnie, his gaze flicked back towards his opponents. Not wanting to worry his teammate or show signs of weakness, the blonde cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders getting ready for another round.

"Until I collapse from exhaustion or have to get carried off due to injuries, you all can keep slinging spells my way and bite me." His brown gaze darkened with hostility, tongue hissing like that of a raging fire towards the other duelists. Perhaps they had given him fuel, but would this fire be extinguished or engulf them?

This was not looking great. At all. Starting off of a bad few spells, Aurelia reached over, taking off her blindfold. Rose cast a thankful glance towards her dueling partner. "Thanks!"

But it was too late. The knock back jinx was already speeding her way, and with great speed and strength. It hit her square in the chest and knocked her over. "Dang it," she hissed. Rose turned her wand on herself, trying to heal herself, but somehow it failed, too, doing more harm than good. Rose clenched her teeth together, fighting back the urge to break down.

Aurelia gave her some encouragement and she offered back a friendly salute. She couldn't give up- Aurelia needed her.

Even being blindfolded did not rendered or even stopped the older Ravenclaw. It happened so fast. One minute Milosh was casting his own knockback jinx and the next his own spell rebounded back to its caster. When Milosh slung his spell towards Phaedra, the older Ravenclaw cast a flawless shield charm.

The Castelobruxo Duellist never saw something like what Phaedra just did. It proves that the older Raven was an awesome Duellist. The blue-grey eyes boy involuntarily let out a wince when his Duelling partner was on the ground. Being hit by Flipendo was never a fun moment. Ronnie was ready to help the older boy up but it seems the Durmstrang student still can stand on his own two feet.

Ronnie gave a quick glance to Milosh as a silent way to ask whether the boy was alright or not. When Milo gave Ronnie a reassuring nod, the Portuguese boy also nodded his head as a way to say that both of them are still good to go. Ronnie then cast his eyes toward his other opponents. The dark-haired boy that paired up with Phaedra successfully removed her blindfold.

Then as Aurelia was about to removed Rose's blindfold, Ronnie could not let the moment slip from his grasp. The Castelobruxo student should have given Rose a minute or two to catch herself. But no! Just like the previous round the Brazilian cast another Knockback Jinx on the redhead. This time his spell hit her square in the chest and knocked her over.

Perhaps if Ronnie was born on UK soil instead of the land of soccer, the Portuguese boy probably will be sorted to Slytherin with how cunning and vicious his attack was."That rebound was one nasty spell,"He uttered as he stood beside Milosh. "You still good, mate?"Inquired the tall boy. As he made a calculated and mental note of which person will be his next victim, he looked at the older boy.

"Look at that girl,"Ronnie said to Milo referring to the state Rose was in."Should I aim for her again since I am sure another attack on her will knocked her out completely or should I give her a chance to breathe a little?"He questions Milosh. It was not in his nature to be so vicious towards others. Ronnie is a lover, not a fighter.

But since there is only one team that comes up as a victor, Ronnie knows he should give the best of his ability in this tournament so both he and Milo can come up as the victor and win this match.

At the signal for the next round, Cade quickly hurried over to Phaedra and removed her blindfold just as she conjured up a very nice shield with a flick of her wand. Tossing the blindfold aside, Cade would observe the proceedings across from them. It seemed their team sapped everyone else's fortune for once. Phae had cast her shield just in time and the attacker's spell had rebounded back towards him. The Gryffindors weren't terribly lucky either. Their healing spell did the exact opposite of what it was supposed to. "They really have it out for you, I don't blame them though." Cade muttered in Phaedra's direction. He returned to his spot beside his dueling partner and considered his next options. Rose looked worse off than even Cade was. Milosh too, this was strange considering they seemed much stronger to start off with. Things were taking a direction Cade didn't altogether expect.

Protego was becoming her signature. Fueled by self-preservation, Phaedra summoned a shield for the onslaught. As expected, someone took the bait, Milosh's Flipendo rebounding into him. Meanwhile, Cade removed her blindfold. Surely he was growing weary of playing helper by now. “You get used to it,” she muttered, brown eyes adjusting to the light with a series of blinks. “You're too kind.” With that, she allowed Aurelia's question to mull over in her head, fingers running along the decorative ridges of her new wand. “I do mind, unless you wish to tell me yours. A mutual exchange, yes?” Phaedra was quite interested as to why a girl of their year was unsuccessful more than not concerning a simple Episkey. Perhaps her core would serve as a cautionary tale to aspiring healers everywhere.
