Summer Duelling Funtime Extravaganza, Match: 4
INTERNATIONAL SUMMER DUELLING TOURNAMENT
MATCH FOUR
────────────────────────
RULES
This match follows the rules of the Duelling System, with some slight adjustments:
- There are three parties participating.
- Players fall unconscious when they drop below 20% of their maximum HP, rather than 10%.
- The team that has no player left standing first ranks third, the second team to have both players knocked out places second. If two or more teams are still participating in the duel when the 12 round time limit has passed, their placement will be decided by higher total health percentage.
- Reminder that you cannot use spells of your new year, only spells of your previous year (including any of the new year acquired with a Prodigal ability before graduation).
- The following spells have received clarification to adjust to the higher number of players and teams: Fumos, Metelojinx, Lumos Maxima, Cracker Jinx, Ventus
ReducioFumos: The smoke affects four randomly chosen, conscious players (can include caster).
Metelojinx: The caster needs to choose which opposing team to summon the cloud over. If countered by Ventus, the caster can choose which opposing team to blow the cloud towards.
Lumos Maxima: Affects all opponents
Cracker Jinx: The 20% spread chance will automatically affect the target's partner. If that partner is unconscious, there is no spreading effect.
Ventus: The auto-split will target a random opponent from either team (excluding the original target).- If there are any more questions, please reach out.

"Alright, all duelists to the floor!" The sixth-year replacement enunciated as he took what was supposed to be Dmitri Jones' place had he decided to join the Summer Camp and moderate. Predictably, the boy found better things to do with his time than to moderate a duel he wasn't participating in—much to his chagrin.
Only a small portion of his summer will be spent ruminating over his OWLs results, while a major part of it will be another marathon of advanced studies for the coming NEWTs.
And so here the replacement was, a random sixth year classmate who had one of those faces you'd forget in a heartbeat.
"This is a battle between Hogwarts and our foreign associates, so I expect this to be a clean and fair game!" With a swipe of his hand through the air, the boy pronounced the start of the duels.
"Begin!"

Dylan walked to the Duelling area. He was eager to duel and show his talent. He had been a duellist for a while now. He wanted to do good and make his school proud. He was ready for this match. It was against the school that his friend Damion studied in.

Bea was quite nervous. This was going to be her first dueling event. She'd signed up near the end of last year, and because of the timing she hadn't really expected to be called upon today. But here she was. Never having dueled or practiced with a partner. She hadn't even met anyone in the team! At least knew that one of her tent mates had also applied and was going to be dueling as well. Not to mention that this was a 2 vs 2 vs 2 fight, something that didn't normally happen and was in Bea's opinion going to extra crazy.
Hearing that it was time for her to duel, she walked over to the arena. She hadn't seen her partner whilst walking over but still there was time. Eyeing the others already there, she muttered under her breath, "Here gaes nathin'."
Action: Arriving. As strategised.

Alright, the party was going to start soon. Last year Felix had almost been burnt to a crisp by the opposing team; it had been one hell of a duel. He had admittedly enjoyed it. If you have to go down, may as well go down swinging. Admittedly he didn't know a whole lot about his partner, so hopefully they could quickly adapt and manage to pull through.

Summer Duelling Funtime Extravaganza, Match: 4
@Everly Charlton & Felix Kolbeck
@Winnie HarperHouse Colours: HufflepuffWith a deep breath, Piérre quietly, if shakily, got to his feet, feeling himself wobble to and fro at the beck and call of the sixth year referee of the soon to be fourth year's first official duel. Before he left, he nuzzled his little Figaro, who was sleeping highly around his neck, before gently shaking the silver Bengal awake and carefully lifting his loyal companion off his shoulders.
With a last nose rub, Piérre set his kitten on the ground, gesticulating to the spectator audience with a broad sweep of his hand. “Giocare. Play.” It was the command to let Figaro go off and enjoy himself, but to also stay within calling and eye distance. (So a silver Bengal with mint green eyes is in the crowd for papertrails and the amusement of any rpers there.)
Turning his ten and three fourths inches yew and snallygaster heartstring, slightly bendy wand in fiddling hands, Piérre quietly snuck towards his dueling partner. He wasn't quite sure what to make of her yet, having only seen her in practice and sparring and not truly having a chance to interface with her...
Still, he had a good impression of her dueling tactics. He was rather good at observing in that way, and he had no doubt in his ability to gel his movements in tandem with hers to make the fight easier and more efficient for both of them.
But he had to make a good impression first... Right?
With soundless footsteps and silken strides that seemed to make the long limbed boy almost too smooth and unreal with the fluidity in which he made the simple act of walking seem, Piérre unhooked his right thumb from the black suspender strap that laid over a collared dandelion and black striped teeshirt. He dusted off his jean shorts, and then silently tapped on Everly's right shoulder.
“Uhm... Ciao Hello, Ever... Everly!” The boy smiled carefully, ready and fully anticipating a lashing out or a spell to be cast at him. The way he held himself was jaunty yet incredibly light on the toes, as if ready to hit the dirt or twirl away at the slightest risk to his health. “I just... Wanted to raise a toast to our good fortunes in this duel. Orchideous!”
ReducioPiérre flicked the wand in his left hand towards his right, plucking the garland of subsequent purple flowers and the single, large orange blossom which sprouted from it.Orchideous cast (Wis): d20(5) + 10 = 15
ReducioSlightly embarrassed with the actions that he had performed, having practiced these lines over and over again the day he found out who his very first dueling partner was, Piérre tried to explain himself. A strong accent betrayed his nervousness. “These... These are... The purple one are... They are... They... They. Are. Campanula di Capo Noli. They're a wildflower only native to Italy and one that I always thought to be very pretty when I was little...” He shifted his weight back and forth. “Amnd the ahm... Theummmm... Orangey one is a carnation. They're good luck in Italy, and the orange stands for happiness, enthusiasm, and hypnotizing movement. There's a better English word flamboyance... But I can't.. Can't put my finger on it.”
Another awkward pause.
“Are you okay... Okay if I put them in your hair? I'm good at making sure they won't get in your eyes or be a distraction. I, um... If that doesn't bother you... Otherwise... Um... Maybe you can Put them in your... pocket... or... something....
...
Anyways, break a leg? We're gonna win, right?” He announced happily, smiling wide again to hide his nerves as a small twinge of calm exuded from him, that electrifying nervous energy washing over his newest ally.
Piérre took in the conversation as they set up, taking particular note of the foreign team, specifically a white haired boy with a black leather jacket and an unamused look on his face. Despite himself, Piérre tipped his head at the boy in mild curiosity... He seemed... Almost familiar.
Before he could stop himself, Piérre pointed at the kid and exclaimed his way loudly. “Hey!
HEY! PARMESAN HAIR! HEY!” He waved at the kid (Felix) dorkishly. “Do I know you?!
You look familiar! Have we met before? I like the jacket! It's real cool!
I like denim myself!” He smiled widely at the boy with a carefree joy, heart pounding even as the referee made the call for all sides to strike.
Wait.
Hold on.

Man oh man, now this was duelling gone crazy. Then again duelling in general may have seemed crazy to begin with for a great many individual…but not Callie. It provided her with a great deal of entertainment and a brilliant opportunity to practice flinging spells around. So the idea of a 2 vs 2 vs 2 wasn’t at all intimidating for Callie, only thrilling. It w didn’t take a genius to figure out her excitement given the fact she was rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet with a hint of a grin on her face.

[quote]
Everly rolled her shoulders as she stepped up. Her nerves were all over the place. Part of it was the amount of opponents she and her partner were facing, but also her last duel; she’d grown significantly less confident in her abilities, though she wouldn’t dare admit it. She’d practiced as much as possible, even if it felt like she wasn’t making much progress.
The foreign team was unfamiliar, and she had no idea how skilled they were. She supposed they’d been around Hogwarts at least sometime, but she was unable to match face to name. Langstreth was the same, though she knew Jensen could take well enough care of herself.
At the feeling of a tap on her shoulder, Everly flinched, whirling around, high-strung enough already. She only let herself relax when she realized it was her dueling partner, who’d managed to sneak up on her. An accent curled around Piérre’s cheery greeting.
Everly stared at him blankly. “Hi, Piérre,” she responded flatly.
Despite her lack of a response, flowers sprouted in his hand. He explained what they were, quite obviously nervously, while Everly searched for something to say. “Oh—um, yeah. Go ahead. Uh… thank you. They’re very pretty.”
Giving him the barest of smiles, she turned to face the other teams again, muttering an “I hope so.”

As the spells started whizzing through the battlefield towards their respective targets, the replacement moderator started to think he bit off more than he could chew. He was simply just a dueling fanboy, content with cheering from the sidelines and imagining a world where he was a star duelist like his idol, Dmitri Jones.
However, now that he was here, it was all beginning to be too much.
Through the utter chaos, he could just about make out Dylan and Felix aim for one opponent from each team. Though Dylan's spell left his wand successfully (which was more than what Felix could say, if the pathetic sparks fizzling out of existence from his own wand were any indication), it did not successfully find its mark. Instead, the gust of wind veered wildly to the side of the area, kicking up a flurry of dust.
Gryffindor decided to employ the same strategy, dividing their efforts into taking down both teams in one go. Both Pierre and Everly chose the same spell to incant, Obscuro, and though the spells were impeccably cast, only Everly's landed—straight onto Callie Jensen's eyes.
Callie, in a matter of moments, fumbled the large Ventus she was slowly weaving into existence. The whistling gale, instead of heading straight towards her opponents, whipped her up off of her feet and onto her bum. And although she does look like she can stand up from her position, the buffeting wind and the blindfold on her face ensured she was going to be a sitting duck until further notice.
On the side, Beatrice appeared to be dancing as if no one was watching. Or maybe dodging something they cannot see. Nonetheless, she did look like she was having fun.

Dylan looked around as the commotion occurred. He stayed as he was. He was eager to see what happened next. He was doing this to make his friends and family proud. He was a team guy wanted his team to win the match. He wanted to win this match. Though he was trying his best for that to happen. He would do anything to win the match, but he won't cheat.

Well, everyone just wanted to be a slippery little weasel today, didn't they? It was frustrating but not unexpected. What kind of duelist wouldn't be able to dodge? He blinked in confusion about hearing someone yelling at him. What the hell? Why did this guy look a bit like his Durmstrang team mate? "What the hell?"
