@Emma WynnEdmund could tell Emma wanted to say something about him drinking a potion out of spite, but didn't, in order to be polite. He had heard enough about that, already - from his Granny to his friends, and even his mother (who sent him a letter to let him know how disappointed she was, but also glad he was safe). He knew what he did was reckless and stupid, and for now, he had no plans of ever doing it again. In the future, well, he couldn't say, for sure.
"Maybe for some, but you got to at least learn the basics. You're a witch, after all," said Eddie. This time, he felt a bit pushy with his words, so he shrugged and forgot about it, looking away as he ran his fingers through his hair. This was the perfect opportunity to have some company while flying, and the tall lion didn't want Emma to say no. She could, of course...! But... please, don't.
Twisting the hem of his black cloak, a mischievous smile made its way to his face at her question. Edmund turned to Emma, leaning in a bit closer to tell her a little secret.
"Well, I got confused once, but managed to find my way back to the Gryffindor tower," He whispered. "I plan on exploring the castle at night. It's huge, and I'm sure there are a lot of secrets waiting to be uncovered. Would you like to join me? We could also get a fake permission slip and go to Hogsmeade together with the third years,"

Emma bit the corner of her lip, taking Edmund’s words to heart. She was a witch and should know at least the most basics of a witchy method of transportation. Plus Emma still felt the need to prove herself, to prove that she belonged so Edmund’s words really stuck and she looked determinedly at him, saying “I am a witch and I should at least know the basics. I’ll take you up on those lessons, if you don’t mind.” Emma was determined she would not fail and so she would make sure she didn’t. Although her fears of injuring herself or others kept running through her mind with thoughts of looking stupid a close second. She already felt like an imposter at Hogwarts, and lonely, so it was no surprise these thoughts joined those already.
Tapping her foot nervously, Emma smiled slightly, nodding and leaning forward as Edmund began to whisper. “It is pretty large. But isn’t there curfew? That seems a bit dangerous especially since torches don’t work here so you’d be wondering around after dark?” Emma wished she was the type to jump on the offer but honestly she hadn’t even the thought of breaking rules. The one time she got detention had ended up in her getting in more trouble, because she had hid and made her parents worry. Emma bit the corner of her lip again, touching, almost petting the feather of her quill as she thought for a moment. “What’s in Hogsmeade anyway? The only thing I know is it’s a village nearby. But everyone in third year seems to excited to be able to go.”

@Emma Wynn"Great," chirped Edmund, excited, glad to hear Emma would fly with him.
Though the young lion had no problem flying on his own - and even preferred to, when stressed - it was great to have some company, especially of someone his age. Other than Olivia Feather, he didn't have a lot of friends growing up, and his cousins didn't like flying. When he flew with his father, they usually spoke of Quidditch, or grown-up stuff, while ignoring the touchy subject: his mother. Perhaps now, if he befriended Emma, he could have someone to talk to about... about whatever they wanted, really.
The mention of the curfew had Eddie making a face. He couldn't help it. The lion looked to the side, pursing his lips together, to hide how he didn't care all that much about the rules. Curfews were stupid, anyway, but he had a feeling Emma wouldn't agree with him this time around. Plus, he didn't want to look like even more of a reckless idiot.
"Yeah... there's a curfew," said Edmund. "And... yes, it's dangerous, but that's what makes it fun, right? What if we uncover some dark secret? That would be awesome!" Added Edmund, to make it seem like they wouldn't get in trouble. There was a high chance, of course, but if they visited Hogsmeade during the day, they doubted they would get caught. "Well, it's a village, but there's a lot to do, I think. I want to try Honeydukes sweets. I hear they're delicious,"

Emma wasn’t sure it was so great, but Edmund seemed to be happy about it so at least there was that. Worse came to worse, she would be awful at it and Edmund would give up in exasperation. Though she hoped that she wasn’t truly that bad. She didn’t think so just that she was trying to get the hang of a new skill, and one that was at least slightly requiring of confidence. That was something that Emma knew she lacked in spades. On the other hand, she’d hopefully learn a new skill that would help her feel more settled in the wizarding world. Or at least less like she was struggling at everything! People were throwing around words as if she should know what they were and it made her feel like she was struggling to learn a new language.
She smiled weakly at him, and nodded. She echoed his sentiment although with much less enthusiasm. ”Great. It’ll be great, yeah.” Emma continued to nod as if her words would do anything to make it true. But who knew, maybe words had power in this new world. Guess she’d find out.
Emma’s eyes widened and her head slightly shook side to side, as she realized that Edmund was an adventurer. Maybe she should have gotten that from the broom enthusiasm, but she didn’t think he’d go so far as to break a rule. That was one thing Emma hated to do. She absolutely hated breaking a rule and the one time she had gotten detention had ended badly. “But…it’s still against the rules? Who knows what they make you do in detention?” Emma honestly didn’t think they made anyone do anything terribly awful but still, it likely wouldn’t be missing a break or writing lines or something like that.
Emma grinned at the mention of sweets, she had been craving chocolate desperately and her parents had not yet sent a care package. “Oh! Do they have coffee crisp? Or aero? I could definitely go for anything chocolate.”

@Emma WynnIn times like this, it was clear how much Edmund had taken after his father: the need for adrenaline, unable to behave and follow the rules. Granny told him Theodore had always had a thing for getting himself in trouble: breaking his arm on Quidditch matches, being sent to detention at least once a week—things like that. His mother, Elizabeth, was different. She had never lost a house point in her life. And most of the time, Edmund hoped to be like her. He studied very hard, put a lot of effort into his homework, and dedicated himself to having a good reputation—a good kid.
However, he was a bit devilish.
He could tell Emma didn't agree fully with his thoughts, but he could try convincing her. Breaking the rules was a part of life, after all. Especially silly ones such as these. Why couldn't the first years go to Hogsmeade, anyway? It seemed unfair only the older students go to have fun. If the first-year students had something else to do, he'd understand, but it wasn't the case—from what he knew.
"They can't punish us that harshly, you know," said Edmund, dismissing the idea of detention as nothing more than a small probability. Besides, it was worth getting in trouble once in a while, if it meant doing what they wanted to do. He smiled at her question. He didn't know what sort of sweets Honeydukes had, exactly, but they must be great. "They might. I don't know. We'll find out soon when we go~,"
He dragged on the last word with a mischievous look to him, similar to a fox, before winking at Emma.
When the lesson started, Edmund switched into a completely different boy. He was no longer the chatty boy who wanted to do something fun. He paid attention to everything their professor said, writing things down, whenever he had a chance.
ReducioI think we can end it here?

Emma knew she was kind of lame. But honestly the rules were there for a reason, and she felt guilty not listening to authority figures. After all, the seemed to know better. Though there were a few adults who she had questioned whether they were truly intelligent enough to have survived that long, but that was also rude so Emma had kept the thoughts to herself and then promptly felt guilt over even thinking something so rude. It had meant she had tried even harder to please them, and do every little thing she was asked.
Tilting her head, she raised her eyebrows in slight disbelief. “I dunno. I’ve heard things about detention. It seems like they can be…..rather….odd.” Emma phrased it as delicately as she could, not wanting to say she thought they were downright weird, especially as it was only rumors. But still, she strengthened her resolve. After all, this seemed to be one way to solidify a new friendship, and hadn’t she reluctantly promised that she would try to make friends. This seemed the type of thing her parents would be happy to hear about. While not the sneaking out, but the talking to people and doing things with them. You know, the usual making friends thing that everyone else seemed to know how to do easily.
“True. I hope they do. I miss those and Mum hasn’t sent any chocolate yet. I’m getting to the point of begging.” Seeing the professor up at the front of the room, Emma faced forward, carefully beginning to take notes as she focused on the coursework rather than her nerves about their plan.
