This was the day she lived for. Win or lose, but preferably win; these were the best days of her life. Being able to get up on the broom and soar through the sky, weaving in and out of obstacles. Angél walked to the starting lineup; her broom carried over her shoulder like a proud lumberjack would carry their favorite axe. She was extremely short and petit, but rumor had it her stature hid the strength of a mighty bull which undoubtedly accounted for how stubborn she could be.
The first person she caught sight of was, of course, Yefim. How could you miss him? He was a tall, dark, handsome, angry Russian who looked like he wanted to murder everything in his path. She was in love with the fact that he was her opposition in this broom race and the tournament. He was the perfect opponent. “Well, aren’t you a cold drink of water on a hot summer day. I’ve been looking forward to facing you in the tournament. Today will be like a palate cleanser. May the best champion’s team win.” Green eyes offered a wink before she turned her attention elsewhere. If rumors were true, he would be boastful and speak about how she didn’t stand a chance. It would only be fuel for her fire.
Angél turned to Chiaki and extended a hand in greeting. If the girl shook her hand, she would find a firm but respectful handshake. If she ignored it Angél would pretend she never offered and put her and down. “Angélique de Clairmont, but you can call me Angél, everyone else does. I know we aren’t usually a team, but today you are no different than the rest of us. We are a team, and my only goal is to get one of us across the line regardless of which school we’re from. One crosses the line, and we all win.” She gave the girl a resolute nod and a grin before looking at the rest of her teammates. “Remember that while we are more than three, we are just like the famous musketeers. That is how we win all for one and one for all!”

She was always a little nervous right before the game started - she’d been like that back at the circus as well, with her getting nervous seconds before going onstage. Still, she knew that once she was out there, she would be fine, and with a grin directed at her teammates, Cielle mounted her broom and got ready to fly. Time to go…action: as strategised

Personality: Sofia is very bubbly and energetic. She's always trying to find the best in any situation or to make the most out of the situation. Her award-winning smile is very telling of her personality. When she gets serious, she will occasionally start humming in thought. She is not even really aware that she does this but she does when she's deep in thought. It is almost hard for her to stay quiet or sit remotely still, as she finds that she often needs to do something. People often see her fidgeting or singing to herself, tapping her foot on the ground even if there is no music around. She likes to keep herself busy, with whatever it is.
History: Born in Finland to two loving parents, Sofia comes from a long line of wizards. She comes from a big family, growing up in the same house as her parents, her paternal grandparents and two of her uncles and their families. Each uncle is also married, with children. In total, there are twelve people in the house and it is still growing. Her grandparents, her parents, her identical twin, her uncle (dad's younger brother) and his wife, their son and her other uncle (dad's youngest brother) with his husband and their daughter. It is a rather large family but she was very family oriented.
Growing up in such a loud and vibrant house made her who she was today. She was always so bubbly and energetic, and sociable. She kind of had to be when she grew up surrounded by people that were very similar to her in that way. They brought it out of her, essentially. Along with her twin, Sofia loved pranking her family a little. She once wrecked her uncle's cooking by putting some chilli in it when they were seven. If this was not bad enough, it was also the day that his then-future parents-in-law were coming to visit. It was not great and she definitely got scolded for it by her mother. However, her uncle ended up finding it rather amusing since it did not ruin anything (he still got married to the love of his life and his partner's parents ended up forgiving them) and to date, it was still something that came up in family gatherings - much to Sofia's embarrassment!
First Instance of Magic: Sofia was actually a late bloomer in her family. Her twin and younger cousins actually started to show signs of magic earlier than she did. It was stressing her out. On her ninth birthday though, she finally showed it. There was to be a grand party that day for her. It was her first proper birthday party - with relatives from all over coming, and her family's friends. Her parents decided to make it very grand, as her twin was going to Durmstrang next year and would not be around to celebrate. Since Sofia had not actually shown signs of magic, they suspected she might be a squib. The party itself seemed to favour her twin though. The decor was her twin's favourite colour combination (blue and green), rather than her own (pink). Her sister's dress even looked fancier and better than her own.
But it was all fine. All she wanted was the Chocolate Cake that she was promised. When the cake showed up, however, it turned out that there was only one for them to share. And it was vanilla. Her sibling's favourite, not hers. That was when she lost it. The anger had been bubbling inside of her all day. The jealousy had probably been there since her sister showed the signs of magic almost two years prior and she did not. But in the rage, it burst. This was just too much. It was at that moment that she realised the entire party was not for her. It was for her sister. The magical one.
In her anger, the cake suddenly exploded. Some of the icing from it splattered onto her twin's face and clothing, ruining it. Her mother looked horrified and quickly tended to her sister's clothing as a house-elf pushed out the second cake... the chocolate one. Turns out, Sofia was wrong but she felt like she was being betrayed. Nonetheless, her father came over to celebrate her magic showing and with some magic, her sister's outfit was fixed and things turned out okay.

Summer Games 2022
The third year squealed excitedly as she grabbed her broom, quickly making her way to the broom race. She was practically jumping up and down out of excitement as she approached the team. "Ohmaigawd, hai," She greeted them with the widest smile on her face from ear to ear. Her voice was loud and full of energy, "Are we all ready to rock and roll?" She asked, her shoulders swaying as though she was listening to a song. There was no music that could be heard but she did not care.
Her cheeks pinked a little as she observed the team. Mikael said something about bringing victory to Durmstrang. Of course, he was not talking to her but she overheard him and moved a little closer, "Oh, don't worry, Sofia's got this," She said as confidently as she could talking about herself in third person, tugging a piece of her hair behind her ear as the blush crept onto her face. He was kind of cute. Hopefully, she could win this race and impress him!
Sofia looked over to the crowd, lifting her hand and giving everyone a huge wave. This was her first ever proper broom race, outside of training, and she was so excited to see what all of the fuss was all about. Grabbing her broom, she mounted onto it and lined up - ready to start.

Personality: Henrik was very proud of being a wizard. Going to Durmstang was his pride and glory, as was having two incredible parents that were skilled in various ways. He had a lot of respect for anyone who was a skilled caster or the best magizoologist. For him, it was not about what they do but as long as it was magical and they did it well, that was what impressed him.
These days, he was a little bit anti-social though, keeping mostly to himself as he was kind of shy. He found making small talk very awkward. Spending time with people who were not his closest friends was also not something he enjoyed. For the most part, he kept his head down and studied hard. Right now, he was not overly excelling in anything but he sure as heck was trying his very best to do so. If nothing else, he was hardworking and dedicated. He would do his best to surpass everyone. His parents said that "in time, he would figure out what he was passionate about or cared about and then he would excel in that". Right now, he was just trying to figure out what that was.
History: On a cold winter's night, Henrik was born in Oslo, Norway. His parents - the youngest in their siblings on both sides - had been trying for a child for a while, making him a blessing in his parents' eyes. He was an only child but he was also his parents' pride and joy, as a result. There was a lot of pressure on him to be the best, in his opinion. At least, that was what it felt like at first. As he grew up, he found out that his parents were also just trying their very best to fit in with the fancy lifestyle that everyone else seemed to have around him. Neither of them was keen on being posh and prim, apparently. They were all just trying their best. And he started to become more comfortable just being himself by the age of eleven. Though, who he was, was still changing constantly and still figuring out who that was, exactly.
He quickly learned how incredibly powerful magic was. The best alchemists or potioneers could extend life or promise immortality, the best spellcasters could become incredible duellists or superheroes in the auror field, the best with creatures could become a famous magizoologist. He loved that. When he found out that the Hexwizard Tournament was returning, he expected one of the skilled eighth years to end up becoming the champion. But it ended up being someone just a year older than him and he was so impressed by that. It taught him that anyone - of any age - could excel or be a champion. But to date, he was far too intimidated by the champion to even approach him. And now... he was on the same broom racing team as him. AHHHHH.

The dinner was meant to just be casual, from his understanding but it was so fancy. There were, at the very least, seven courses of food and it was very intense. He felt so out of place the entire evening. His hair was gelled far too much, he had a bowtie on that was kind of irritating and his clothing just felt... itchy. His mother said that it was top quality and he was just overreacting. Perhaps it was just the fact that he was being social and it was making him a little uncomfortable. As a child, this sort of thing was not really his scene. He did not enjoy being the centre of attention or being overly fancy. But his parents expected him to be very proper.
Halfway through the meal, he excused himself to go to the bathroom. He did not want to excuse himself - in case it came off as 'rude' but his stomach was hurting and he really needed to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, the toilet did not flush for some reason. He tried everything he could. The panic that Henrik felt grew as nothing seemed to work. It might have been minor to others but to the seven-year-old boy who was told to be proper and posh all day, this was the worst thing. It was so embarrassing!! He knew nothing about toilets, how was he supposed to fix this? Hearing a knock on the door, as a member of the household staff was coming to check on him, he panicked some more furiously looking around and wondering what to do. At that moment, the toilet flushed without him pressing it and relief surged through him as it cleared out.

Appearance: With very soft, slightly curly dark blond hair, Henrik prides himself in his appearance. He stands around five foot four, rapidly growing. There was no doubt that he would surpass six foot rather easily. Whilst his uniform was always rather neat and tidy, his hair was kind of messy. He was a little lazy when it came to his appearance. As long as he looked clean - and did not smell - he figured that was enough. Luckily for him, someone else washed his clothing so his uniform was always neat and pressed, even if he did not bother to make any effort for it. He tended to have a small smile on his face or a serious look, even when he was not being serious. Summer Games 2022
Henrik Olsen tugged at his collar a little as he approached the team. His messy hair did nothing to cover the fact that his face was kind of flushed. This was so nerve-wracking! He was pretty decent at flying, in his opinion - not excellent but not bad by any means. But today, he was so nervous. He had seen Yefim, the Durmstrang Champion of the upcoming Hexwizard tournament around in training and such but he had never really expected to be given a place on the team - the same team as him. Ahhh, he felt like such a fanboy! Perhaps he could start the "I heart Yefim in secret" fan club! "H-hi-" Henrik mumbled awkwardly as he tried to stop fidgeting. Gripping his broom tightly, clenching his fingers around it, he tried to focus on his task for the day. He just had to do his best to not embarrass himself in front of the champion of Durmstrang! The guy seemed kind of intimidating, in truth. He was impressed by him - as he must have been incredible to be chosen as a champion - but he was also kind of intimidated by him. Ughhhh this was so embarrassing. What if he thought he was bad?! "Sorry I'm uh late- I was just uh- well I'm here now-" He mumbled some more, apologising for being kind of late to the party. He showed up just before the race was about to start.
To avoid any more awkwardness, he quickly mounted his broom and went ahead to line up so he could just avoid talking to anyone - or stop looking so foolish in front of Yefim.

Nichlas got ready for the start of the broom race. He did not even care about winning as much as he used to, but of course he did care about not losing. After all who were he, if he would actually lose? He couldn't have that. So with a blue ribbon around his broom, he was ready to claim victory this year. Nicholas, the kid he had met last year was not facing off against him, perhaps he got cold feet and organized around meeting Nichlas in this race.

To be quite frank, Enzo was not very keen on potentially sharing their victory with another school. Why they must combine their ranks was beyond him, he came all this way to cement Beauxbatons as the reigning champions, not go halfsies with another school. But he would not let this distract or ruin his fun. He planned to not hold back during this race, and he was certain it would not disappoint. When did it ever disappoint anyway? This sport's constant thrill is what drew Enzo to it in the first place.
Enzo mounted his broom, confidence not wavering in the slightest, and approached the lineup, eagerly awaiting the moment that they could officially begin.

Round One
It was a match that many had been waiting for. Not only was the esteemed Broom Racing School of Beauxbaton competing in this race, but not just one, but two champions from the upcoming Hexiwizard Tournament would be competing this afternoon, Durmstrang's Yefim Rumyantsev vs Beauxbaton's Angélique Colette de Clairmont. Angélique also had the added bonus of her title for winner during last summers international broom race. Would she be able to hold on to the crown, or would Durmstrang snatch it from her hands? There were sure to be whispers in the crowd of the large stadium of who would win. This sadly left the two Mahaoutokoro students unappreciated, their champion off showing off their Quidditch prowess instead.
Nonetheless, the racers were all gathered up at the stark white starting line, clearly ready and rarin' to go. Durmstrang appeared to be quite stoic, and not much was shared between them aside from a few appreciative nods and perhaps a phrase. Beaxbaton, on the other hand, seemed quite talkative, their champion leading her team in a short speech.
Ilvermorny Headmaster Plott would grin, before speaking yet again. "This is the final race of the day, time to show off what two Hexwizard Champions can do. So, without further ado, let us begin the countdown!" he yelled, while swishing his cape fantastically around him. After another moment, he began. "Three... Two... One... GO!" A large BANG erupted as the barrels of sparklers exploded beside the starting line.
Unit 'Zero'And they were off! The barrels of sparkler's exploded in a grandiose fashion, multi-colored lights decorating the sides of the starting line, now a beacon of the beginning that the racers would quickly leave behind. However, one Alexander Theodore Baron (@Mars Tien) seemed a bit stunned, perhaps by the exploding barrels, or maybe there were a few individuals that threw him off. Unit OneOnly moments into the race and things were already starting to heat up into a 'right of acid' for many players. Enzo Delcroix (@Akari Kato) would raise their wand as well, ready to attack Yefim Rumyantsev (@Flash Holmwood). His spell aim was true, and Yefim now had to contest with unruly legs, making falling off his broom much more of a possibility.
Finally, Maximilien de Fostoncy (@Lindsey Springhall) clearly had some showing off to do, as he cast a Flipendo that managed to split in two, one hurtling toward Cielle Posey Johansen (@Ivy Bellamy) and the other toward Yefim Rumyantsev (@Flash Holmwood). Cielle managed to dodge the spell at the last second, while Yefim was completely hit, and sent backwards through the previous unit. Many of them began banging into one another and banging off the walls. Sofia was going at full speed, and her broom was bucking wildly, throwing her into the cave ceiling. Kheanu (@Dmitri Jones) seemed to be feeling unsettled by, well... one of the many terrifying people around him, and ended up crashing right into the cave wall right after Sofia. It was around now that Cielle and Yefim would be attacked, spells heading right for them. However he would be sent backward regardless, back through the prior unit. However, without the gaggle of people there, it seemed quite a bit easier for him, even with his spasming legs.
