Summer Games 2022
This is a spectator thread for the Hogwarts Race: Slytherin v Ravenclaw

The Hogwarts interhouse races would occupy the morning. Following this race, there was one more race between the Hogwarts Houses. Following the second Hogwarts race the international races would start. While Hogwarts-centric, these early morning races were of great import to the other schools. The school that houses 'monsters' and dared to call half-breeds true wizards. A danger to civilized wizarding society. A risk to their very way of life. It was true that every school wanted to win, but more than nobody wanted to see Hogwarts win.
House pride marked the stadium in the morning hours but the racers were also subjects of international observation. Solomon Lear, the Headmaster of Hogwarts was making a rare public appearance. Since his mildly publicized 'absence' a few years ago he has kept to himself and out of the public view. The impending Hexwizard tournament had thrust Hogwarts into the limelight yet again. Hogwarts has been the subject of poor press over the past few years for their inclusion of certain 'questionable' wizards such as dhampirs and lycanthropes, alleged 'dangers' to the community. Their successful matriculation meant that one day other schools might follow suit and the 'safety' and 'purity' of wizard schooling and the wizarding community at large might change in coming years. Something was going to need to be done to stop it.

It was early in the day, the first of the two Hogwarts races was about to begin. This was going to be a full day of racing. The first two matches were between the Hogwarts schools and the final two were between the other schools, a display of the international community. This was the third race of the academic year for Hogwarts, they had allegedly gotten to a 'late' start. The day was hot but overcast, it looked like rain but the prophets claimed that today would be just another hot day.

This was odd. Quinn at a sports event? This was something that she really never had done. Not during the school year, so why now? And why broom racing? She hadn't shown any interest in it. To be fair she still didn't have much interest in broom racing. She was there to get fresh air. And possibly laugh at seeing someone fall.
Seeing as this match was between Hogwarts houses, her own and Ravenclaw. Quinn though that this match would be the perfect one to cam and watch. With a small attempt to show house pride she but on a mix of green bracelets.
When she reached the stands she noticed that she could snag a front row seat. So she did. Curiosity got best of her and she looked down at the teams. She really didn't know who was on either teams. The teams looked well put together. !
She looked at the slytherin team. Seeing the one person that she never expected to see. Colin. Her best friend on a broom, in the pitch. "What! Hes on the team!? I- when how?!" she was in shock.
Was he on the team in there first year? Or was it a shock to them both. It was a good thing she came, now she could cheat on Colin. Even if she was a bit mad at him for not telling her.

With time to spare before his own game later that day, Nick would go to watch the game between some of the Hogwarts houses. Ravenclaw and slytherin was it? He wasn't exactly sure.
Broom racing was one of his favorite sports. He was the captain of the Ilvermorny team. He wasn't going to cheer for any team in particular. Ravenclaw, was some kind of bird if he remembered. His house was also a kind of bird. So many he would cheer for Ravenclaw.
He found a seat next to a girl. He didn't ask if he could sit next to her she was up shouting about something. Around the lines of 'how could he not tell me?' Sure it may have been rude but he felt a smile come across his face. "Tell you he got on the team? Dis you want the spot on the team? Did he take your chance for glory?" He asked the girl. He was curious, wanted to know why she was yelling.
He got up and looked to she who she could be talking about. What team was she hear for? He looked at her for any clues, but saw nothing. "Oh! Right introductions. I'm Nick! Ilvermorny broom racer, who are you talking about? And well who are you?" He introduced himself and waited for the girl to do the same.

Opeila was nervous when she entered the stands to watch the Brisk Basilisks' third race. Being the captain of the Slytherin Racing Team, it felt like a duty to attend these races- that didn't mean that she didn't want to, no way, but it always made her a little nervous.
Opeila was a terrible flyer, but she still felt to a certain extend responsible for any wins and losses. So far- two losses, making the young prefect hope that at least the third one would work out.
It was still rather early in the morning, too early for it to be warm enough to wear short clothes. So there she was, wearing one of her ton of jeans and a dark green sweater. Since she cut her hair, it wasn't long enough anymore to braid, so she had gone back to styling it like she had in her first year, tying the two front strands back. One good side of that? Her hair kept her ears warm, although it got in the way more often now.
Not being able to find anyone she would like to sit next to, Opeila decided to sit on her own, watching her team enter the area. Please work out this time. The odds were not bad at all, considering that Ravenclaw had a lot more young players than Slytherin. There were still a few, but most of them had a bit of experience in racing by now. To be honest, she would already be happy if the racers returned with less bruises and scratches than the last time. And maybe, you know, all of them conscious.

Broom racing was never of much interest to the Mirales Correa boy, considering he was much more focused on keeping his brother alive in Quidditch. However, seeing as he had found himself with a decent lot of time. His brother was nowhere to be found, and he didn't feel obligated to do much else. There was a broom race between some of the Hogwarts houses, and with his free time, he decided to visit and watch. The bird people and the scaley ones? If he remembers correctly. The whole idea of houses was just confusing to the boy. Why base your entire school system on negligible personality traits. It would be rather stupid if you asked Boe. Again just another reason why Castelobruxo was better than any of their European counterparts.
Boe wore his typical boho style. Tight khaki shorts, along with a lowly buttoned button-up shirt. Several rings litter his fingers, and several necklaces lace around his neck and lay flatteringly on his chest. Silently and politely, Boe would slide past several others who had decided to watch the race. Then, placing himself next to a stranger, a girl, more than likely from a European school, if he had to guess from her complexion. Plastering on his ten million dollar smile, the boy finally spoke. "Olá senhorita." He paused before switching to English, "So... which team- house are you here for? Or do you not go to Hogwarts?" Boe was very well spoken in his English if it wasn't for his Portuguese accent, which he always hoped made him seem more exotic. Usually, these idiots from other countries had found his accent rather alluring, but who would know if this one would too. Boe didn't have any agenda for playing nice, besides the fact that he found it fun to play with his food, so to speak.

The whole scenario gave Opeila an odd sense of déjà vu. Hadn't her first year of duelling been quite like this? Her first two duels against Hufflepuff and Gryffindor were lost, but then she and Adonis won against Ravenclaw in the end. She hoped, oh she hoped that it would be the same for the Basilisks. Sometimes it just took a few tries to learn and to figure certain things out.
Of course, not being a racer- oh what was she thinking, not a good flyer herself, she couldn't really empathize with her team, she had taken on the job mostly because she liked the thought of being a motivational coach, but she felt nervous for them. All the obstacles and creatures they would be facing made her feel glad that she wasn't an active racer.
When Opeila heard a voice, she looked up in surprise and scooted to the side a little so the boy could sit down. "Hi", she greeted him back, feeling a bit lame after his- was it Spanish? The Spanish course she visited in elementary school was only a faint memory at this point, but she could still remember a little basic vocabulary.
"Uh, the guys in green are the Slytherin Team. I am their Captain, so I am here to cheer them on.", she answered his question, "And you? Is there anyone you know on either of the teams? You are not from Hogwarts." The last was not a question. "I'm Opeila, nice to meet you."
