Slytherin v Ravenclaw Broom Racing Summer Games 2022

May the best team win, which is of course Ravenclaw.

It was summer break, and despite having been stuck in London, Clair had somehow managed to get to here, she had managed to get to the race, and to the summer camp. Even if she was only here for the race.
She got on her broom, she was ready to fly, to feel the feeling she had missed so very much missed.
Yes, Magic was made to run through her veins, and without it she had felt like she had lost something.
Today, well Today was going to be amazing, no matter what.

It seemed that this summer was filled with all sorts of exercise for Bloom. From the triathlon to Broom Racing, she felt as though her body was getting toned and her emotions were getting tamed through the adrenaline's intensity. Bloom, always nervous before a game, was ready for what was going to be before her of the Ravenclaw versus Slytherin Broom Racing games. After her results from the spring game, she felt slightly more confident in herself, ready to take on whatever new obstacles were going to be this time around.

She looked over to her teammates, especially Clair who was looking ready for the day. This was definitely going to be a race won; especially if it had to be in front of other schools from around the world. How embarrassing would it be to lose in front of them? Ravenclaw had to win.

Hunter could feel his anxiety rising up again as he stood still holding his broom. Unsure of what to expect or do, he had to take a couple of heavy breaths to calm himself down. Never a fan of watchful eyes, and the more there were the worst it felt. He felt exposed and slightly judged and began to wonder why he even joined racing in the first place. Of course, the answer was experiencing a challenge. Always had his head in a book, he wanted to try something new and exhilarating. Despite his skinny appearance and nerdy personality, he had a strong constitution when it came to duels or sports. Flexible and nimble, he felt like he needed to stretch his body once in a while. Racing seemed like a good answer, but he had forgotten about his own phobia when it came to loud and large crowds.

Well no helping it now, he was out and ready to test his own capabilities and keep watch on others. He looked around and hadn't gotten to know his own teammates too well. He had at least met Ari and Clair before, but not Bloom or Harper. He approached the two of them and offered chocolate frogs while giving a meek, "Good luck." A good way to help calm nerves, and of course Hunter planned to be a Healer someday. As he waited, he began to list off the numerous benefits of chocolate that he learned about. A good Healer should always have treats on hand.

Percival casually walked up to the starting line up and silently looked ahead of him in thought. Their last race was a close one, if it wasn't for a few mistakes on his part they definitely would have won it fair and square. This time there was no room for that, if they didn't win a single race all season it would be an embarrassment to the house. All of them needed to be perfect, else they'd never hear the end of it from the other houses.

For now, he seemed to be the only one that had turned up. Good merlin, if his teammates backed out now it would be even worse. Instead of looking worried like anyone else would, Percival glared sternly at each one of his opponents in silent judgment. This was going to be an intriguing race to be sure.

Colin grabbed his broom and tore out of the changing room and ran up towards where the race would begin from. Most of the Ravenclaws were there already he could see. Eager to lose, no doubt. And across from them stood a lone Slytherin, Percival Gray, and he was surveying the competition.

Even with his new scars and memories of the summer's recent events, Colin was eager to fly for the Basilisks! Memories of the battles he'd fought in this summer mixed with thoughts of careening through the air with his new flying mates and he wondered who'd be watching them as they raced! A lot of his friends were Ravenclaws, and so was the girl he really liked. He wore a raven feather in the thin black braid that he'd made on the left side of head and the rest of his hair he'd dyed black and green for the occasion. His brilliant, pond scum green eyes fixed on their adversaries.

Colin ran up the last few yards of the pathway and skidded to a halt next to Percy. "Yeep! I smell fried chicken, laddie!"

----Vale could be hear screaming and laughing as she usually did anytime she was in a broom race. Her last matches weren't the greatest, but it never took the thrill away from her. The adrenaline rush never ease in her veins. "Who's dying first?! Who's going to suffer the most?! Is it me?! Please be me!" She was quick to move next to her teammates that arrived ahead of her. "This is the best day ever!" Nothing was going to stop her now in the midst of her bizarre excitement. She twisted her head to get a look at her current opponen-

Vale's eyes nearly popped out at seeing her cousin amongst the flock of birds. "Hunter! Clair!" The girl screamed out, waving a wide arm out to the two in question. "Can you feel it?! The feeling of dread as this may be your last day of existence?! Oh, it's so close that you can taste it! Also, my family say hi!" Without another moment, Vale prepared herself to race. Her body shaking in anticipation to what was ahead in her future.

Ari was growing used to the excitement that filled him prior to every broom race he had been a part of. But this one was special. It was during summer camp, in an unfamiliar zone with an unfamiliar atmosphere. But he had been here before. He was in London, and his house was in a sector of the big bustling capital city. So that helped ease some of the tension.

Ari had went with his typical black hoodie, skinny jeans, and sneakers for the race, not forgetting his very important black eyeliner. He toyed with one of his lip piercings as he approached the starting line, his eyes finding his team. Ravenclaw's team was changing a lot, and today would mark the first race for newcomers Harper and Hunter. He knew Hunter from a birthday party he had attended earlier in the year, and it was nice to not be the only male on the team any longer.

He gave them all the same reassuring friendly smile that he did at the beginning of each race, said a silent prayer, mounted his broom, and let the adrenaline settle in as he waiting for the signal.

It wasn’t as if Scarlet had completed that many broom races before, yet she was already super excited at the thought of racing in a new location. This time it wasn’t the grounds of Hogwarts that would host the Slytherin racing team, but London’s quidditch stadium, well the outside of it to be precise.

She was already excited about being able to squeeze an extra race in outside of the school year, and really hoped this would be the one that Slytherin win, although the team were yet to get that all important win, she knew that they had gotten better with each race, last time they were sooo close to victory. Maybe the bigger crowds that this location was bound to supply would be just what the team needs to give them that extra push.
