Truth or Dare — Group ONE
EXPLANATIONReducio› Students have been separated into smaller randomized groups (15-16 per group)
› Round A: Students have (ICly) each received their target as determined by the firing of the canon (determined by me OOCly with randomized rolls) and have been told the choice (truth or dare) of that individual.› Round B: Students either answer the question, fulfil the contract of the dare, or choose to back down (either through RP or failure to post) from the game. Additionally, students will again write either TRUTH or DARE in a note at the bottom of their post for the next round's considerationRight now, you must write your character arriving on the ship, receiving the crumpled paper from the canon with the name of your target and their choice of either truth or dare, and then administering that truth/dare to the individual
› Round A and B repeat in this way with a newly randomized assigned target. Students will have one week each round to submit their posts
› Failure to post by a round's deadline will result in the assumption that the character froze up and declined to continue. They will be removed from the game
› All IC rules still apply and IC consequences are possible depending on the situationSite rules and rating will also always apply. All dare and truths must comply with them.ICly, the game takes place Aug 14th
〘 THE SETTING 〙
Marooned and out to sea. Those that had the daring gall to sign up for this summer's rounds of Truth or Dare would find themselves sectioned off to longboats and rowed out to their designated ship, each flying a massive flag to identify their numbered groups and anchored to the deeper areas of the magically flooded stadium. Were the ships functional? Absolutely not. Lack even a full hull below the black mirrored surface of the water, they could be considered massive props at best. Still, they made for an impressive setting for the fun to be had.
Drawing parallel to the boats and climbing to the hull, students would climb the steep wooden steps up the walls of its body to spill out onto the wooden ship deck. Chairs and cushions had been arranged in a circular medley of seating for those in attendance. A table had been set up at the bow of the ship with any finger food or refreshment a student might possibly desire.
To port, students would notice a number of chests. investigation would reveal them to be packed to the brim with costumes and props: from hand hooks to eye patches; stuffed parrots to false pistols; pirate coats to large colonial chapeaus... if it might conceivably have anything at all to do with pirates or sailing, it could be found within this veritable treasure trove.
Then there was the structure of the ship itself. While the deck served as the primary place of gathering and play, there were other features to consider.
At its centre, a large pole served as the mainmast, metal rungs leading up to the crow's nest high above. Roped shrouds descended at an angle from there to attach at the rails of the deck to port and starboard. The port side also boasted a long gangplank that extended well beyond the edge of the ship to hover threateningly over the water. Not to cause any worry, however, any who might find themselves taking a long walk off a short pier would find shark-shaped floaties waiting in the water below and easily accessible ladders to climb back up to deck.
To the stern, stairs could be found to either side framing a pair of doors and leading up to a raised platform overlooking the deck. There, with a great view of the false ocean ahead, stood a replica wheel to imitate a functional helm. It wouldn't steer the boat anywhere, of course, but that didn't mean it wouldn't still be fun to play pretend.
And finally, beneath the helm, what would normally occupy the captain's quarters and officer's room had been refurbished into something of small sitting areas. In a pinch, they could each be used as a private changing room; or, alternatively, a quiet place to decompress if the chaos of the game became too much; or even as a place of banishment or seclusion should a dare require it...
But how would they determine to whom they would present their truths and their dares? This was, perhaps, the most enticing prop of all. A small canon would sit in the middle of the social circle. At the start of each round, all players would be required to load their names into its barrel. Swiveling about, it would go from student to student and fire off a crumple piece of paper into the waiting hands or lap of the recipient, thereby assigning their victim target.
Ultimately, the ship was at the full disposal of the young witches and wizards who would find themselves playing the part of its new crew. In the name of Truth or Dare, imagination was the only limitation. What happened on the ship, stayed on the ship (maybe). And at the end of the game, the students would be loaded back into the rowboats to be taken back to shore.

Emma wasn’t quite so sure about playing Truth or Dare, but it sounded better than doing the triathlon, and she had promised her parents she would participate. This seemed to fit the bill as did the mutiny game she had also signed up for. Then she could tell her parents genuinely she had participated in several of the activities. But as the ship they were going to board came into view, Emma could admit that maybe it wouldn’t be that bad. After all she had chosen truth rather than dare, so she would just have to answer a question although that could also be awkward in and of itself, but it would be much less embarrassing than a dare, she was sure.
After boarding the ship, she carefully considered the objects around her. She had thought up a few things in advance, nervous about being unable to come up with anything on the spot, but the dares would depend more on the setting. She could see some costumes spilling outside of the treasure chests on the deck, the mainmast with the metal rungs that seemed to lead quite high, and what looked like a gangplank. Emma giggled at the thought of someone walking the plank. It felt quite piraty to her, more so than the trunks filled with costumes. Though she supposed that was more useful than booty for the purpose of the game. The costumes had sparked an idea in her head and so she kept quiet, working it out as she sat in the circle.
Writing her name patiently on the slip of paper, she stuffed it into the cannon when it was her turn, clapping, excited as she had come up with the perfect plan for the first dare, and a somewhat okay question for if they chose truth. Watching as the cannon began to spin, shooting out rumpled pieces of paper, Emma put her hands up, prepared to catch it when it reached her. Unfortunately she clapped a moment too early and the paper fluttered in front of her. Blushing slightly, she looked down and focused on the name written down. Marshal Mozer. Emma couldn’t recall them if she had met them at all, so that meant going around and attempting to track them down. A few times she asked, other times she just showed her piece of paper, waiting for a nod of the head but only receiving shakes.
Finally finding Marshal, she said quietly “Hello, I’m Emma. It looks like you chose dare?” Emma pushed the piece of paper at them, keeping a tight grip on it to make sure it didn’t flutter away. Looking around once more, she said in a slightly louder tone, “I dare you to dress like a pirate, with a parrot, and hop around the deck once on one foot, saying, My name is Captain Kidd, as I sailed the whole way around.” Honestly Emma didn’t think it was that bad but it would be kind of fun to see if Marshal would be able to complete the dare with or without ease.

EmmaLee giggled in excitement as she stepped into the longboat that would take her to the huge ship that was the stage for this Truth or Dare game. She waved to Emma Bennett, who was one of her tentmates, at least she knew someone in this group, and trailed her hand in the magic water. She even flicked some up to see it dazzling in the sunlight.
As they approached the large, fake boat her excitement turned to nervousness. She had picked dare and was definitely both excited for it and regretting it. Maybe she should have picked truth, which was maybe safer. Was it really safer though? What if she couldn't think of a good dare or truth question herself? Her mind was reeling with nonsense worries as she climbed up onto the manufactured deck, but it cleared as she saw the playground that was before them. All of the things to climb and do and explore. She saw the chest of pirate clothes and noted to maybe go ahead and dress the part for the game as she moved over to place her name in the cannon. She introduced herself to everyone and then moved over to talk to Emma as everyone received their target.
"Are you excited Emma?" EmmaLee asked the other 1st year as she turned to receive her own paper. "Did you pick truth or dare?" As she said this, her own little ball of paper came sailing towards her and she caught it and unrolled it. ~Astoria Swann, Truth~ She read silently. Now to think of a suitable question and ask Miss Swann.
What could she possibly ask a stranger? Should she just go with something goofy, or should she ask something that would reveal something deep about the other girl? What if she asked something too personal and Astoria got mad? EmmaLee shook the sea of thoughts away. She had thought of a few questions and dares beforehand so that she wouldn't be caught on the spot. She would go with goofy. That was sure to at least get some good natured laughs and she had tried to not pick any ones that would be awkward.
EmmaLee moved over to talk to the girl who seemed to be Astoria. "Hello, Miss Astoria. What is the most childish thing you still do?" She asked, nervously. Her light French accent thickened with her nervousness and she twiddled with the ends of her fingers as she waited for the other girl's answer.

A rather thematic game of truth of dare, involving a whole ship. In truth he was expecting some dark corner of the stadium for a shameful activity where rivals exchange terse moments and friends question their soon-to-be-former associations. This seemed a bit more 'juvenile,' a lot more 'safe.'
Pride was in a unique position for this activity, familiarity as a Hogwarts student as well as a Mahoutokoro boy. He did not know who to expect in this particular group of thrill-seekers, he was not the first as two got there before he had-- Emma and EmmaLee, not that he knew their names of course. "Ladies," he would nod as he took a cushion from the floor and placed it on one of the larger chairs to give himself a comfortable seat for the chaos after he loaded his name into the cannon.
The cannon would ultimately fire once everyone had gathered and a bit of paper would bounce off of his that he would snatch before it started to roll away. He would open the slip of paper and read the name scrawled inside -- EmmaLee LeDames. Wow, someone he did not know. Well, he was about to know her. She had chosen dare, so with hazel eyes he would skim those gathered. For the sake of ease his gaze would fall on the other girl whose entry preceded his own -- Emma Wynn, a secondary target essentially chosen at random as he read from the slip of paper the girl's name -- "EmmaLee LeDames, I dare you..." time for of course the ever important dramatic pause, "to please that girl" he would point at Emma Wynn "to not leave you for someone obviously 'better' than you because you very much 'need' them." He shrugged his shoulders, perhaps they were already friends, he did not see them enter the ship together but if they did then it would be even more awkward. Attempting to create a scenario in depth off the top of ones head that is convincing can be difficult, begging is far from a passive statement or a request, so he wondered how the girl would play out this scenario.
Action: Daring EmmaLee LeDames to beg Emma Wynn to not leave her.

Sitting idol on the rowing boat, listening to the water slap against the oars on each stroke. It was rather impressive, the ships, the water in the stadium. When Monica heard the theme for this year, she pictured decorations, maybe some costumes, but this just goes to show how much magic can make anything 10 fold more spectacular!
The moon was high in the sky, creating a silhouette of the boats as they drew closer. Monica had her fair share of chances to play truth or dare back home, but never in such a boisterous setting. It added to the anticipation of the night, all of the possibilities opened up, getting people to walk the plank, have a sword fights, it was thrilling just thinking about it!
Coming to a bump alongside the ship that was Monica's stop. Latching herself to the ladder, and climbing up to the deck. Onward and upwards.
Once aboard, she tried her best to mingle with those that have already arrived. approaching some other girls to introduce herself, "Hey! Monica... Evans, Slytherin." extending her hand for a friendly shake, she had no idea if that was a sufficient way to introduce herself, there were students from other schools here too, do they know anything about the houses of Hogwarts? Do they also have houses?
Within no time, everyone had arrived, and the evening was kicked off. First step, write down names, and load them in the cannon, next receive your "victim" and enjoy the chaos that unfolds.
Monica of course chose to put dare for her first round, it was always way more fun to take on a dare, and to call herself a dare devil was an understatement. In cases like this, Monica's competitive nature could get the better of her. Well a dare trumped being asked a question, either it was super personal, which did enhance the game, however seemed worse than doing a ridiculous dare, at least to Monica. The other option though, was that the question was answered with a simple "No" And where is the fun in one word answers?
Once the cannon was loaded, it began firing papers at the participants. Monica caught her... target.
"Hiro Bakugo. Never heard of them. And they picked Truth....Perfect."
Not knowing anything about a person when coming up with a question to ask went one of two ways, either your question is great, but the receiver doesn't have an equivalent answer, or you choke, don't know what to ask, but the recipient would have a great answer, but is stuck with a less than ideal question. She could not blow this on round one, she had to think of a question that made the person reveal funny, deep truths, and could be summed up with, "yes or No."
Taking a long moment to ponder over what her question would be... she figured the best way was to imagine she was asking a question to one of her Best friends back home... perhaps that would bring up some fun answers.
Walking up to Hiro Bakugo, she squared off to ask her question.
"Hellow Hiro! I'm Monica, and I will be asking you a question for your truth...Hiro, have you ever lied to get out of trouble, if so... what was the lie? And did you get away with it?"
Seemed like a decent question, pointed, revealing, but still tame enough for the first round. For sure more tea would be spilled by the end of the night.
Action: Asking Hiro Bakugo a question.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | This was going to be fun! Hiro was looking forward to this particular game, especially as there were various things they could do! Of course, he'd played this game before back at Mahoutokoro. It was one of his favorite ones, as there were so many possibilities and options to consider! What kinds of things would people come up with at this particular summer camp? He'd chosen truth as his own option. But what would others choose? And for that matter, who would his first partner for this game be? After being grouped up with some people, he'd been relieved to discover Pax wasn't part of the group for this particular event. In fact, he hadn't seen the demigirl there. Could they not have signed up before? Well, at least he wouldn't have to worry about getting matched up with them. Hiro looked around the wooden ship deck and spotted the chests. Going over to open them, he checked through the contents. A fun dare came into his mind, one that would be rather amusing to see play out if he got the chance. He'd make use of some of the props at a later date. Once he'd done the first idea that came to mind. The ship was decked out and Hiro had to admit he was impressed with the lengths they'd gone to decorate. Hiro loaded his name into the cannon along with all the others. And when the time came, the cannon pointed at him. As the paper slip was fired at him, Hiro opened it to reveal his partner, to find it was someone he knew. Hiro regarded Mathias and a smirk came to his lips. This was going to be fun and he was curious to find out if the boy would accept his dare or be a coward and refuse to do so. From what he knew about him, he didn't think Mathias would go out this early in the game. "Hia, I dare you to close your eyes, spin around ten times and select the first person you bump into afterward. When you have your target, your mission is to get them to say 'You're so hot' to you. But you can't tell them you want them to say those words to you." "You have to get them to do so on their own." Hiro told him with a grin, wondering if Mathias would accept the dare and if he did, who he'd end up with as a partner. Needless to say, it would be rather fun to witness. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────
actions: Hiro dares Mathias to spin around, target someone and get them to say 'You're so hot' to him. Mathias also cannot actually say that he wants to hear those specific words from them, which makes it harder. notes: Hiro arrives at the location for the game and discovers his partner is his roommate! For the next round, Hiro will select DARE to continue the game. ------------------------------ tags: @Mathias Pride, @Pax Zhang word count 425 coded by draven mirador |

The best part of event planning was seeing when it all came together, and the Truth or Dare setting was among Evelynn's favourite when it came to the committee's summer planning. It wasn't even so much the setting itself, or the effort that went into it. Rather, it was the awe-struck looks and sparks of excitement that reflected brightly in the eyes of her peers as they rowed their way towards the deeper portions of the flooded Quidditch pitch to the structures that would serve as their playing grounds for the evening.
In the spirit of the night, Evelynn had come pre-dressed. While she had known that there would be chests with props a-plenty to sate the adventurous and imaginative drives of the most enthusiastic of the students, she preferred her own tailored look. Opting for a modest pirate-y look rather than that of a pirate wench as certain individuals may have preferred, she had grabbed her trusted leather riding boots. With them had been paired a pair of distressed charcoal pants. A tan undershirt had been layered with a plain green V-neck blouse. Everything had been tied together with a worn oilskin duster cinched at the waist.
Embellishments had been added in the form of pendant jewellery, bulky rings, and a pair of fake scimitars. Hair had been lightly curled to form beachy waves that hung loose and untamed about her shoulders. And to top off the ensemble, a large tricorn hat settled deeply upon her head. But of course, no pirate would be completely without their trusted companion. There would be no parrot available, but Evelynn had the next best thing. Perched in a dignified manner on her shoulder, claws clinging for purchase on the leather caps, was Janus. Black saucer eyes would swivel about, peering at each of her peers in turn, or taking in the environment. Now and then, wings would flutter, feathers fluffing, as he repositioned or raised an insulative barrier against a breeze.
"Rather impressive, do you not think?" Evelynn asked Marshal as the students all spilled onto the ship. As had become something of a norm, it was his approval and opinion she sought amidst the rest, and she was rather please that there would be someone familiar to her in this group. All the more-so that it would be Marshal. "I am rather curious to see what array of dares we see tonight to make use of the environment."
Of course, Marshal wasn't the only familiar face in the group. A smile and tip of her hat would be offered to Zhang as Evelynn called out, "Zhang! So you have chosen to pursue the thrill of the game as well. Glad to have you aboard." She would leave it there for the moment, but made a mental note to inquire about their own summer camp games later on. Working with them on the committee to plan the events had been a comfortable experience that had only served to solidify Evelynn's confidence in their ability in their role as her co-captain.
Then there was also Oberoi, Durmstrang's star beater. If there was anyone who could compete with Marshal's level of flirtation, it would surely be this one. Evelynn had fortunately evaded any personal confrontations with the foreigner (as far as she could remember, anyway), but certainly hadn't forgotten the plethora of kisses he seemed to enjoy blowing to the stands as he flew laps around the pitch at the start of some of his games.
And Pride. Here, Evelynn was a touch leary. If the last interactions she had observed between him and Marshal were anything to go off of, this ship might be host to a level of drama for which none of them were prepared. She could only hope that the canon would hold off from pairing them together in any manner. Aside from those select few, however, the great majority of the faces were either vaguely familiar in that she had seen them at Hogwarts but outside of her own year, or were entirely foreign to her.
Putting her name into the canon with the rest, she decided to play it on the safer side until she could gauge the group's general approach and indicate "Truth". When it came time for the canon to face her spot in the circle, Evelynn was quick to catch the crumpled paper canon ball, unfurling it to read, "Emma Bennett." Eyes would glance up in search of the owner to the name, greatly wishing she had thought to include some means of identification to make the process easier. "Who is Emma Bennett?" She would call out again, until the the name was claimed, at which point she would fold the parchment away and continue. "So you have selected truth, it seems. Very well. What do you despise others knowing about you?"

After he had set the girl off to do or at the very least attempt to satisfy his bid he would have the unfortunate duty of taking a dare of his own. Of all people to get his name, it had to be his roommate. It was not that he disliked the hyperactive, overly eager and friendly underclassman. Well, perhaps a little but for reasons he lacked the self-awareness to disclose. The issue here was of a simpler nature, the fact that the boy in his invasive-nature might actually know something relevant about the boy who often claimed to have 'nothing to hide' and was indifferent to scrutiny which was technically true, there were facets of his character that he wished to remain unknown. For instance what he valued, how he would act, and what he truly wanted were secrets that were closely guarded by the pureblood.
Well, he was the rare exception where truth was more dangerous than dare. "Hia, I dare you to close your eyes, spin around ten times and select the first person you bump into afterward. When you have your target, your mission is to get them to say 'You're so hot' to you. But you can't tell them you want them to say those words to you."
"That's it?" It seemed pretty easy, get someone to say something or at least try.
"You have to get them to do so on their own." Hiro added the additional requisites. That would make it challenging, if not impossible but he was willing to give anything a shot.
Mathias quirked a brow and shrugged his shoulders. "Isn't this something you should be getting me to make others to say to you?" He did not expect anyone to come up with even remotely close to that phrase through conventional methods, this was not some lemon fanfic. He was not going to saunter over to some mousy self-insertion protagonist and woo them with some trashy romance novel tropes. And even if they did, it would be pretty cringy to have them say -- you're so hot. Sure, they would be absolutely thinking it, but admitting it would be the difficult one.
So, step one of two. Pick a target.

He closed his eyes and spun, his index finger extended. He would make three full rotations in a suitably noticeable and dramatic manner, he would stop and his eyes would open. His finger would be pointed at Kayle Realma, not that he knew this person by name. What did he get from her from first and only impressions, a somewhat awkward, gangly girl. OK, maybe the tropes might work on her. Maybe not.
He would have to get some props for this one. He tousled his hair and took off his shirt, was there much to look at? Heavens no, he was still a 13 year old boy that was growing faster than he was able to develop biceps or pecs. He was lucky to have chest hairs, which were still in single integers. An eye patch and a cardboard sword. It was a pathetic outfit but it was hardly the point.
He approached the girl, knowing that he was going to look like a moron in the process but a dare was a dare, at least until the next round of shenanigans. "Arr?" That was what they said, not that he had any clue why but it was a necessary syllable. "Walk the plank mate-she?" What the heck did they call female mates? it mattered not. He pointed the paper sword, it was unlikely straight. It was definitely not straight, it sort of dropped downward as he thrust the sad paper sword in her direction. "Compliment me or walk the plank?" Yeah, that sounds about right.

Truth and dare had always been up Pax's alley. Since they were a child they'd loved the thrill of getting to do something fun and crazy, and maybe a little bit stupid.
In keeping with the pirate spirit, they arrived in brown leather boots, faded and worn grey cargo pants, and a white tank top. Around their waist was a red bandana, with a matching pirate hat atop their head. Waiting for everyone else, they began surveying the rest of the group. There were only a few faces they recognised who had already arrived.
Hiro Bakugo was one they recognised from various events that had occurred over the summer, at summer camp and from forced interactions otherwise. They weren't fully sure how they stood with him, so this was bound to be interesting.
They also spotted Evelynn Decipio, the captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team. Pax definitely admired them a lot for what they'd done. To their knowledge however, this wasn't much of an activity that Pax thought Evelynn would partake in, which was why they were surprised she'd even organised this event. To their honest surprise, she heard the captain's voice call out to her from beside fellow Gryffindor beater, Marshal. "Zhang! So you have chosen to pursue the thrill of the game as well. Glad to have you aboard."
Grinning, they quickly strode over. "Captain! I ought to congratulate you on such a spectacular job with this game!" They swept their arm around, gesturing at the setting. "This set-up. Very impressive. And, I must add, I am loving the outfit. It suits you."
With a nod of their hat to Evelynn, they left the Captain and the beater to converse further as they submitted their name to the cannon.
It didn't take too long for said cannon to explode with papers, and Pax reached up and deftly caught the one closest.
"Nick Iris. Dare."
A smirk crept onto their face. This had a lot of chances to go...interestingly. Their eyes fell on the snack table, and a dare formed in their mind. After grabbing what they needed, they wandered around for a bit, tapping random people on the shoulder until they found the victim person they were looking for.
"Hi, Nick Iris? I'm Pax, and I'm here to attempt to make your life a living hell."
They held out their hand, which contained a short stack of 5 dry crackers, and pointed with their other hand. "You see that boy over there? His name is Marshal Mozor. I dare you to fit as many of these crackers in your mouth as you can, and then go over there and tell him you think he's cute."Action: Daring Nick to tell Marshal he think he's cute with crackers in his mouth (hehe)Next round: DareReducio

Truth or Dare — Group ONE
Languages: Portuguese & English
By the cruel machinations of fate, Raul found himself in a group without a single other student from his school. Granted only five of them had come, and of those five, he could only stomach his brother and Ronnie. But at least he knew what the devil Manu and Monet said, even if he didn’t particularly care for them personally. He was among Europeans, and he could barely understand a lick of the English language. This was going to be an absolutely terrible experience. He practically sulked every second he spent on the longboat over to the ship, and didn’t bother changing his expression upon arrival. How the hell was he supposed to ask people their truths or dares if he didn’t even share a language with them. By the virgin mother, the entire trip thus far had been an absolute wash.
Grimacing, however, he stomached his distaste and found his target, the name having been gifted courtesy of the cannon. Some blonde girl, probably from Hogwarts or Ilvermorny based upon her name. At least that meant he could struggle through the English language with her. He’d be at an absolute loss if he’d been forced to use Russian.
“Hello,” He waved. Dare? What was dare? He stood silently for a minute, trying to remember what the word meant, before the meaning of truth came to him. By process of elimination, he supposed he was supposed to dare the girl.
He drew his wand, flicking it idly in his hand as he spoke, “I… you…” He gestured at his hair, pulling at strands with his free hand, “You,” he reiterated, before he pointed his wand at her, shit, what was the word? He paused for a moment longer, “Blue.”
