Truth or Dare — Group FIVE Summer Camp '22

EXPLANATION
Reducio
Students have been separated into smaller randomized groups (15-16 per group)
Round A: Students have (ICly) each received their target as determined by the firing of the canon (determined by me OOCly with randomized rolls) and have been told the choice (truth or dare) of that individual.
Right now, you must write your character arriving on the ship, receiving the crumpled paper from the canon with the name of your target and their choice of either truth or dare, and then administering that truth/dare to the individual
Round B: Students either answer the question, fulfil the contract of the dare, or choose to back down (either through RP or failure to post) from the game. Additionally, students will again write either TRUTH or DARE in a note at the bottom of their post for the next round's consideration
Round A and B repeat in this way with a newly randomized assigned target. Students will have one week each round to submit their posts
› Failure to post by a round's deadline will result in the assumption that the character froze up and declined to continue. They will be removed from the game
All IC rules still apply and IC consequences are possible depending on the situation
ICly, the game takes place Aug 14th
Site rules and rating will also always apply. All dare and truths must comply with them.
THE SETTING
Marooned and out to sea. Those that had the daring gall to sign up for this summer's rounds of Truth or Dare would find themselves sectioned off to longboats and rowed out to their designated ship, each flying a massive flag to identify their numbered groups and anchored to the deeper areas of the magically flooded stadium. Were the ships functional? Absolutely not. Lack even a full hull below the black mirrored surface of the water, they could be considered massive props at best. Still, they made for an impressive setting for the fun to be had.

Drawing parallel to the boats and climbing to the hull, students would climb the steep wooden steps up the walls of its body to spill out onto the wooden ship deck. Chairs and cushions had been arranged in a circular medley of seating for those in attendance. A table had been set up at the bow of the ship with any finger food or refreshment a student might possibly desire.

To port, students would notice a number of chests. investigation would reveal them to be packed to the brim with costumes and props: from hand hooks to eye patches; stuffed parrots to false pistols; pirate coats to large colonial chapeaus... if it might conceivably have anything at all to do with pirates or sailing, it could be found within this veritable treasure trove.

Then there was the structure of the ship itself. While the deck served as the primary place of gathering and play, there were other features to consider.

At its centre, a large pole served as the mainmast, metal rungs leading up to the crow's nest high above. Roped shrouds descended at an angle from there to attach at the rails of the deck to port and starboard. The port side also boasted a long gangplank that extended well beyond the edge of the ship to hover threateningly over the water. Not to cause any worry, however, any who might find themselves taking a long walk off a short pier would find shark-shaped floaties waiting in the water below and easily accessible ladders to climb back up to deck.

To the stern, stairs could be found to either side framing a pair of doors and leading up to a raised platform overlooking the deck. There, with a great view of the false ocean ahead, stood a replica wheel to imitate a functional helm. It wouldn't steer the boat anywhere, of course, but that didn't mean it wouldn't still be fun to play pretend.

And finally, beneath the helm, what would normally occupy the captain's quarters and officer's room had been refurbished into something of small sitting areas. In a pinch, they could each be used as a private changing room; or, alternatively, a quiet place to decompress if the chaos of the game became too much; or even as a place of banishment or seclusion should a dare require it...

But how would they determine to whom they would present their truths and their dares? This was, perhaps, the most enticing prop of all. A small canon would sit in the middle of the social circle. At the start of each round, all players would be required to load their names into its barrel. Swiveling about, it would go from student to student and fire off a crumple piece of paper into the waiting hands or lap of the recipient, thereby assigning their victim target.

Ultimately, the ship was at the full disposal of the young witches and wizards who would find themselves playing the part of its new crew. In the name of Truth or Dare, imagination was the only limitation. What happened on the ship, stayed on the ship (maybe). And at the end of the game, the students would be loaded back into the rowboats to be taken back to shore.
THE CANON HAS FIRED!

Once Valentin arrived on the ship, he leaned over the back of his chair to listen to the cannon swiveling about as it shot crumpled paper at the audience. The new wand in the his back pocket jammed him in the back as if to tell him to hurry up and use it for something fun. He couldn’t blame the impatient thing, but this was not yet the time or place to entertain the darling little stick.

With a puff of smoke, a clump of balled-up paper shot Val lightly in the stomach. He caught it with his deft fingers as it bounced off, eyes half closed with sleepiness, and unwrinkled it to read out his target’s name. Maybe I should have chosen dare after all, he thought. What are the chances that someone will fire an actually dangerous question at me, like I was wanting? I just don’t know about this… Well, might as well see if we can show someone else a good time.

Valentin got up and began looking around for one Ambrose Dante, and upon finding the Gryffindor boy, Val crossed his arms. The kid already seemed pretty daring. Trivial stunts seemed boring for someone who was probably already used to them.

“Dante, right? Well, let’s have a look at you… Hm… I think what you need is to break something. Here, you see this old clock on the wall? I dare you to break it, absolutely demolish it, and then put it back together by hand only. No magic.”

Val nodded, half to the boy, and half to himself. Hopefully the clock would at least make a pretty shattering sound.

Daring @Ambrose Dante

Louca was suitably impressed by the amazingly designed boat they had been rowed out to. He could see food and drinks, which was a must, especially these days when he seemed to have what his parents referred to as a hollow leg. Then there were treasure looking chests that Louca was just itching to explore. He was also tempted to jump off the gangplank as he could only imagine what would wait for the daring adventurers. Looking carefully around, he joined the circle gathered around a small cannon. “Cool to the extreme!” He wrote his name carefully, making sure it was legible as he wanted the person to easily find him, and hopefully dare him to something awesome.

Searching the faces around him, he wondered who would be his first partner and whether he would need to provide a truth or dare. Louca had spent a bit of time coming up with some tentative ideas, trying to make sure that he wasn’t left floundering when it came time for him to participate. Watching as the cannon began to fire scraps of paper, Louca quickly caught the paper that was lobbed at him, his quidditch skills having been activated. Reading the name quietly under his breath, he looked around wondering who that was. Scrambling to his feet, he bounded to a few different individuals, not finding the person he was looking for. Coming across another, he questioned “Elizaveta Mikhailov?” Waiting for an answer, he said “I hope I got that right.”

After he was sure he found the person he was looking for, Louca quickly launched his question at her, deciding to keep things fairly light, not feeling the need to be very embarrassing, at least not this round. “What’s the craziest, absolutely worst rule-breaking thing that you’ve ever done?”. He took a quick moment to scan his surroundings wondering who would be matched with him as he waited for their answer.

@Elena Jangleton
It was a Sunday in August and Bloom was participating in yet another activity that was being presented during the summer games. So far, she had participated in the Triathlon, and was exceptionally sore from it. Now was a laid back and fun activity that was every teenagers favorite: Truth or Dare. Granted, the real game was Spin the Bottle, but Bloom felt uncomfortable to play such a game when she was in a relationship.

There was such an unknown to be rowing out to a boat that did not seem to be working. What happens if the boat sank? Her body was aching and she would have to work hard just to make it back to shore which looked... pretty far away. She looked at some of her mates that would be with her at the boat. When they got there, she jumped out of the boat and onto the larger ship. From there, she would climb steep, wooden steps and onto the ship's deck where she saw large chests.

Bloom looked inside them and saw that there were pirate clothing. She wondered if they had to dress up or not. At that moment, Bloom made a pass and followed the crowd to where a small cannon was placed center in a room. Listening to instructions, she wrote her name and placed it into the cannon. When ready, it blasted her a name that she had to find and give a truth. It was Elena Jangleton. Bloom knew her! They hadn't connected with each other for a long time, so she was excited to see her again.

Looking around, Bloom went to find Elena. When she did, she smiled at the Gryffindor and waved. "Hey! It seemed the cannon brought me to you! Let's see..." Bloom thought about a good question to ask. "Here's your question: 'Would you rather eat one week old sushi or extremely, like looking white, salty steak?" she asked, wondering how extreme Elena would be through her choice of disgusting foods.

Charles traveled the short voyage alone. Slipping out from the Horntail tent, a part of him felt proud. Worthy. No longer alone with the fellow durmstrangs... he never could have imagined that one day he'll find a group of them to gather among. To join in with. It sounded surreal to him still but... but a part still longed for his friends. Their laughter and banter. His mind couldn't shake them.

A part wished to be partaking in this event with them. Mind flushing over Cassie and Rosella. Questioning to himself what they would ask... what they would dare each other to do... how different that night could be if he had been with them.

Apporching the boat. He kept to himself, head low as he climbed a rowboat to himself. Rowing steady yet slowly actoss the water. Durmstrang is known for ship travel ensuring Charles isn't new to water nor ships. Glancing upward, the teen questioned what could happen.... what might happened oncr aboard and who he will meet on the deck of the ship.

The climb wasn't one he found difficult. Moving swiftly it reminded him of the exercises at durmstrang or even the summer bootcamp he partake in with fellow team mates on the durmstrang quidditch team.

Climbing aboard. A look around, taking note of those he recognized. A few. Mainly durmstrang. A short nod toward Greta, the smallest and dare he say sweetest of the horntail. Another those the white hair frost captain, Valentin. The two he knew, one better than the other but both in a positive or semi-positive light.

Nearing the canon, his eyes caught an skinny lad. Wasn't he the one he pushed into the lake when Ilvermorny capsized their boats? The american accent touched Charle's ears and he looked away wondering if he can do it again... shove the american into the water. However, at the name. Elizaveta. Charles looked back, eyes drawn to the girl to listen to what she would say. A part doubting that she broke any rules... he took her as the goody two shoes type.

The parchment fired. Charles cuaght it midair, a glance at the name. Percival Gray.

Gray? As in the colour? Strange... wait what was his name? Percy- Peter? Pericles... definitely not... but who chooses truth anyway? Maybe he a muggleborn or first year... who knows, where even is this dude?

The blonde stuffed his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket, along with the parchment as he looked for this Percival Gray lad. Eyes peeled, looking slowly around as he kept his spot when his ears caught Valentin's given dare. Telling someone to destroy something?

Pretty cool, wish that was my dare... wonder who got Frost anyway

The teen walked a few steps, passing faces. Trying to match person to the name, asking a somone occasionally if they were Percival Gray before finding the bloke at long-last. Standing in front, barely remembering their name as they spoke"Are you Peter Gray?" That didn't sound right. Charles withdrew the parchment from his pocket, eyes drifting over it as he then looked up and added"Percival Gray?"

The blonde would wait a moment. Tossing the parchment behind him, pocketing his hands into his jacket pockets once more. Eyes on the lad as he spoke"Well, then your question is; who is the one person you would erase from your memory? As if you never met them and never will?" The teen would wait for his response, eyes flashing over him. Half paying attention. Once he would hear one, the blonde would turn and depart from Percival Gray without another word.

Walking back toward the canon, signing his name once again. Writing 'Dare' again. The teen would slip his name in ahain then walk pass, finding a place besides Valentin Schnell. He might not have his friends from other schools there but at least he has his durmstrang friends close by.

Standing besides the white haired niffler, hands held in his jacket pockets. A nod toward him as he spoke"Hey, Frost, a small greeting. The teen decided to speak to the lad in german, he enjoyed speaking the language but had little chances to. At the manor, it was mainly english and at school it was mainly russian then with friends often switching between french, english, and russian. It felt nice to speak another with someone.

"Geil, trau dich cool dare Charles spoke to his captain and close friend, eyes drifted to the kid who received the dare as he continued"Glaubst du, dass sie es tun werden? do you think they'll do it Posing the question in german. Staring at the unknown child for a moment before growing bored and casting his gaze to Valentin, switching back to english.

"How about a dare for fun? Since neither of us got each other this round," Charles asked as his eyes drawn to the rest of the ship. A thought of Cassie, a small smile emitted at the corners of his lips as he thought of her donning a eyepatch or Rosella with a shoulder parrot. Turning his eyes to Valentin, now with a small smile present with bright eyes. He truly is a extrovert, shining when with friends. Better with others than alone, even if he is constantly alone.

Gesturing toward the costume and prop box with a light nod as he spoke"dare you to wear the captain's hat with a parrot on your shoulder for the entire game. To make it fair, I'll even wear anything you choose for me for the same duration," a glance toward the frost captain with slightly narrowed eyes, a half smile as he spoke"Well, what do you say Frost?"

Even with his back turned, Valentin knew Charles was passing by. Captain Frost knew his friend by the sound of his footsteps alone, and the confirmation of the blonde’s voice at a distance soothed Val’s bored temperament. For a minute even his wand stopped trying to burn a hole in his pocket.

"Who is the one person you would erase from your memory? As if you never met them and never will?" asked Charles of his target. Val turned his head to look across the ship. Damn, that was a good question. It’s almost a dangerous question, he thought jealously. Such was life now for fearless Valentin, who had more fine and gross motor control during dangerous stunts than he knew what to do with while grounded. Instead of stunts, he wanted a prompt that could rock his world, and climbing a pole or the like was simply not going to set fire to his blood. Chewing his lip, Valya considered Charles’s words. Frost wasn’t one to hold a grudge, and he thought the question would be difficult until the answer hit him like a gut punch.

The giant. If only… If only the Hogwarts giant hadn’t played that day, everything would have been different. Would I willingly forget him? No, not even him. Certainly, if he didn’t exist I wouldn’t have mutilated Mikael. Maybe I would have been able to save my mother because I wouldn’t have been so devastated, distracted. Certainly the team wouldn’t have broken up. Yet, forgetting him would undo none of that. Would I even want to have never met him?

If I’d never met the giant, maybe Hanzo would still be captain, and he might have stayed with Rome. Maybe I wouldn’t have grown so close with my team, nor with Mik, nor Yef... maybe Horntail wouldn’t exist. Indeed, if the giant had never brought upon our doomsday, I wonder if I would be living such a full life as I am now. I just don’t know. I can’t hate him for just being strong, nor for winning, no matter what the terrible consequences were. He couldn’t have known. He just wanted to play the game. Why would I choose to forget what he taught me from all that anguish?
Valentin stretched his back and rolled his neck. I did actually learn something… right? Right? he doubted, squinting hard into the sky.

If I had it over to do again… Would I choose to forget Romeo after that day in the sparring room? Certainly I could never forget Mikael, no matter how much his condition torments me. Forgetting is a kind of abandonment. I won't leave Mik, no matter how bad it gets. I won’t let go of Rome, either, no matter what it does to me. I wouldn’t choose to forget anyone, even if they forever forgot me. For some reason, a vision of Aida flickered through Valentin’s mind. He didn’t understand why. It was strange.

Charles’s footfall broke the seeker out of his trance. Ah yes, he had almost forgotten. Valentin went to deposit another slip of paper inscribed with the word, “Truth.” The albino went back to his deck seat to wait conspicuously under the bright sun.

"Hey, Frost,” chimed Charles. “Geil, trau dich. Glaubst du, dass sie es tun werden?” spun the blonde in German, immediately inciting a grin to riot across Valentin’s face. The seeker felt what was coming next.

Val tapped his lip as if in thought, but his eyes showed that his mind already danced several moves ahead of this dialogue. „Jawohl, ich denke, das wird er. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass dies für ihn auf eine Weise von Bedeutung sein wird, die ich nicht einmal ergründen kann.“ (“Indeed, I think he will. I have a feeling this will be meaningful to him in a way I can't even fathom.”) Val’s wand began to heat up in his pocket again, and the hell-chaser in turn curled his hand into a tiny, beckoning gesture to encourage Charles’s next words.

The blonde continued in English. "How about a dare for fun? Since neither of us got each other this round." There it was. Charles did not disappoint. "Dare you to wear the captain's hat with a parrot on your shoulder for the entire game. To make it fair, I'll even wear anything you choose for me for the same duration."

“Of course, my Karlchen,” glided Valentin’s honeyed tone. Perhaps Charles was the only one aboard who could have read his tone correctly-- the Hell-Chaser was up to no good. “Show me to this parrot, dear buccaneer, and I shall don the captain’s hat at thy bidding,” bowed Valentin. He was showing off his ridiculously improved English. Flexing was his revenge for all those hours with the tutor. They’d spent an entire day on pop Pirate English just to keep his attention locked in.

Following Charles portside, Valentin wrangled up a stuffed parrot and balanced it on his shoulder. The brilliant indigo of the hyacinth macaw’s feathers radiated almost as brightly as Valentin’s pale features in the midday sun. Taking a knee before Charles, Val bowed in expectation that his swashbuckling companion would put the captain’s hat upon his snowy head. This was how Val most wanted to assume power-- at the sincere wish of his dearest people.

After this simple ritual, Valya rose back to his feet and put both hands on his hips dramatically. He then tapped his index finger in the air in realization-- he had forgotten the false pistol. He couldn’t go unarmed, for who knew what awaited their next deeds of derring-do? Indeed, despite the simple pleasure of Pirate English, there was also a time for tactical German. „Ich fordere dich heraus, mit dem süßesten Jungen auf diesem Schiff zu flirten. Da du so freundlich angeboten hast, werde ich dich auch herausfordern, dies zu tun, ohne ein Hemd zu tragen.“ (“I dare you to flirt with the cutest boy on this ship. Since you so kindly offered, I will also dare you to do this while not wearing a shirt.”) Valentin crossed his arms and smirked smugly. „Los! Sieh dich auf dem Schiff um, bis du deinen Steinbruch findest.“ (“Go on! Look around the ship until you spot your quarry.”) Valentin got up, then, and walked to the side of the ship to perch on its rail as he watched.

"Playing Truth or Dare on a boat? That seems to be a fascinating idea!" Rita thought when she arrived at the boat. It was a medium-sized boat full of items and from the maps with red marks, simple clothes, and that particular type of glasses left on the table, she suspected the boat was formerly used by pirates or it is decorated to resemble a pirate boat. There was also a handbook with ancient words in it that she could not understand. However, Rita did not let those staff on the boat distract her, she know what she came here to do. She has to think of a way to dare Miles. She and Miles are strangers so it is better to treat him nicely, or maybe he will take revenge on her next time. "What should I dare him? I could not think of a way!" Rita walked back and forth in the boat to find a suitable item. "Oh, I know what I can dare him! It does not require any item!" She suddenly thought of an idea, took out her quill, and tore a piece of paper from the handbook to write it down, "Miles, I dare you to pick a person you don`t know on the boat, and tell that person your first impression about him/her/them!" After writing down that idea, she put the name "Miles" on the back of the paper, hoping he will see it and respond to it. "I hope it is not a difficult task! By the way, Haven is the one who will ask me a question! I wonder what question she will ask me! Hope it is not a hard question!" Rita thought as she put the paper down and continue to wander around the boat.

Charles eyed the student, hands held in his jacket pockets as medium blue sailed over them. Nodding to Valentin's words on them, choosing to keep to the german language. Perhaps wanting to physic the student out a bit or maybe the blonde has a longing to use another language. One that he doesn't seem to use a lot.

Nodding to the words. The blonde eyed the student, taking a moment to continue the conversation in german as he replied"Wir werden sehen, ob Sie dann richtig sind, Frost."We shall see if your correct then, frost The blonde flick his gaze from the student to his white haired accompany and close friend. He hadn't received his dare yet and have been feeling rather strange, perhaps longing for Cassie or Rosella so he figured a chance of a few improved dares between friends as they wait couldn't hurt anyone... right?

Charles smiled toward Valentin's words, glad to see him in agreement to the improve of dares. Shoving Valentin's shoulder closest to him in a light and playful manner as he smiled a little, walking steadily with his ftiend scross the ship to portside. Where the costume and prop box sat.

The blonde watched as the white haired niffler balance the stuffed parrot. Smiling, a half one but full of emotion as he joked" the Niffler now has a accompany of flight, rather nice match if I do say so," the blonde haven't been focusing on his accent. Not taking the time to cover up his British voice with the classic fake, deep russian one he used around the halls of Durmstrang. The blonde haven't realized nor did he mind, for the moment he felt as if he was with Cassie or Rosella or another friend. He felt as if he could be himself, he was having fun aboard that ship with Valentin Schnell.

Charles dramatically rolled his eyes followed by the half smile at the sight of Valentin bowing- waiting for his captain's hat. The teen stepped forward to the box, kneeling down as he pushed items aside. Eyes peered for an captain's hat, if he knew what one looked like... he had never seen one before nor read about pirates.

After a moment of searching, Charles found a medium size black pirate hat with gold lining and an red skull on the front.

This looks like a captain's hat.... is it? Well, it's nice enough to be one

The teen would take the hat in his hands, finding his stance as he stood. Walking toward Valentin, the few steps it took. Taking a flourish of dramatic movements to place the hat upon Valentin's head, switching to Russian as he spoke"Теперь ваш официальный капитан этого корабля,"Now your official the captain of this ship Taking a step back, a small smile as he returned his hands to his jacket pocket and stood besides Valentin listening to his words. His improved dare as they waited for the game to continue.

Flirt? With someone on the ship? Charles looked around, his mind jumping to Ronnie. His heartbeat quickly escalated, imagining the chance to flirt with the lad. Pushing the thoughts aside for Ronnie wasn't there on their ship.... nor was Johannes or Alec.

Eyes scanning faces. Picking out someone suitable to flirt with, course the teen didn't habor any feelings for them. After a moment of looking, the teen spotted two that could work. An Ilvermorny and Mahoutokoro, one being the hexwizard champion.

Charles would walk over toward the railing where Valentin perched. Leaning on the spot of the railing besides him, crossing his arms over his chest. The blonde gestured to the two options for who he could choose to flirt to with a flick of his head.

Eyeing the two boys, keeping to german as he spoke"Welche der beiden sollte ich für Ihren Mut wählen?" Which of the two should I choose for your dare The blonde felt his eyes pass over each boy, glancing at Valentin as he spoke"neither are that cute but I can't flirt with another ship or you so choices are limited," His eyes flashed over the two he picked put from the group once again. The american, the Ilvermorny champion. It would be fun to mess with him, lead him on then push him over the rail or leave him wondering. Give him a taste of the durmstrang power before the tournament.

But... but that Mahoutokoro kid, something about seemed to call to Charles. Allure him. The blonde shook the thought out, eyes stayed steady on the Mahoutokoro boy as he spoke"shall I flirt with the american champion or mahoutokoro, which shall I mess with, Frost?" Charles asked, his glanced stayed ahead for the others on the ship but words directed to Valentin.

Thankfully, he was not easily seasick, or this day would’ve turned out very different than what he envisioned. Mere curiosity was what bought the young Japanese boy to sign his name to participate in Truth or Dare. Marvelous things were said about this game. The most memorable reputation it had was the tendency to make you suffer. You place blind trust in the hands of others, friend or foe, and allow the night to cause you nightmares for the next few months. There was no such thing as besties, enemies, or strangers. Everyone here gathered to create the most valuable thing in life; memories.

Perfect for someone like Sara. Naive, friendless, and in need of some major memories. Especially after he chickened out of the blossom ball the last time he went to Hogwarts. Who would’ve thought a spring festival would contain so many flowers? Regardless, he’s here now. And he’s here to have fun.

With the slip of paper in hand, a chill jolted through him now that he realized he was going to need to talk to people. Alas, he had come a long way from his shy past. This was the chance to practice his communication skills! Courage! Will Power! Andd…. Winnie Harper? If it was possible to turn into a puddle from relief, Sara’s physical form would for sure gone through major changes.

Will power what? Courage who? He was too busy thanking God for giving him someone he somewhat knew and could find within the crowd with no problem.

Once he met her eyes, he gave her a smile she may somewhat familiar with.

Image posted by the member

While he showed no sign of unease on his face, the paper in his hands was still lightly shaking. Despite his appearance, he truly was happy to get Winnie for the first round. After debating on whether or not it was appropriate to tell her just how much her presence eased him, his shyness got the better of him and he continued eyes on the paper. “W-Winnie. You choose.. A dare?” he checked her face just to double confirm though it didn’t seem needed. Anyone who could look at him straight in the eye and give him a handkerchief without flincing definitely seemed the type to go for a dare.

If she was looking for someone to give her an awesome dare, it would not take long for her to realise she would not find such a person in Sara. For he, was busy racking his brain for safe dares. He didn’t want her to hate him for it after all. With his ever stoic facial features and the harsh gruff of his voice, he told her; “ Would you mind if I made you talk backward for the rest of the game? “ he asked unsurely but shock his head. “ Sorry. Ahem. I dare you to talk backward for the rest of the night”. It was clear he attempted to imitate another person who gave someone else a dare earlier. @Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood as their INPC

He immediately regrets it but somehow manages to allow the command to slip out of his mouth effortlessly. Perhaps it even suits him better than asking her politely. @Winnie Harper

Winnie unfortunately wouldn’t be the only person he focused on in this round. With a history of having eyes on him, it didn’t take long for him to realize another pair of eyes on him. One he definitely never had the pleasure of knowing. With the minimal attention Sara paid to the ongoing game, he could only guess that he dared to do something. But as he and his friends were talking in a language foreign to Sara, he didn’t understand just what was going on. All he knew was that he was staring back and it took all his willpower not to look away. @Henry Knight as their INPC

The old Sara would do that, not the new and improved one. Therefore, he only did the most logical thing he could do when a random stranger was burning him with unwanted stares.

Perhaps they were just being friendly! It’s only natural Sara would return the kindness. Its the least the kind stranger deserves when they had enough courage to even look at Sara in the eyes for that long.
Action: Giving Winnie the Dare to talk backward for the rest of the night
Mentioning: Valentine Schnell (imitating their tone from when they gave ambrose their dare), & and creepy friendly guy looking at him rn

As observant as Valentin was, he had little understanding of the subtext between Charles’ and Johannes’ interactions d20:3+15 <20, let alone those the blonde had with people Val didn’t know. The seeker had spent too much time distracted by his own pursuits, but now in the absence of hypnotic cyan welding-torch eyes, Valentin could finally focus on what really mattered: Charles’s love life.

"Shall I flirt with the American champion or mahoutokoro, which shall I mess with, Frost?" asked the blonde.

Val adjusted his captain’s hat, committing to his primary rather than backup plan. He would need to use all his wisdom for this important decision. Grasping Charles by both shoulders, Val’s lips parted as his long fingers squeezed tight. In the bright daylight, the seeker’s eyes glinted with intense silver, its subtler colors washed out by brilliant reflected sunshine... staring, staring, staring at Charles for a long-savored moment, as if reading him like a favorite book.

«Чарльз, ты должен понять, мое единственное желание - чтобы ты был счастлив.» (“Charles, you must understand, my only wish is for you to be happy.”) Beyond all the silliness of the moment, pain clenched behind the silver eyes. A half smile broke away as Val pulled Charles up alongside him in a protective half-hug while they both looked at the potential candidates. Val could only have one moment before having to launch his beloved puppy into outer space, and the enduring grip of his hand murmured of his attachment. The captain was no fool. He knew that small choices could have far-reaching effects. Perhaps only Stribog knew what would come of this, but it was many small, mundane urges that dominated fate in the end.

The seeker’s keen eyes stared down the Ilvermorny champion. Valentin would have liked it, for Charles to try running with a champion. They were Durmstrang, intent on glory, and no half-baked flobberworm could ever make a Horntail’s eyes truly shine. Crossing his arms as he cocked his head, Val considered the champion. No, he frowned. First off, the American failed to hit Val’s gaydar. That didn’t bode well. Second, Val already felt bored looking at him. Observing Charles, Val found that even his Brit did not seem inspired by the boy. As fun as it would be to confuse and ultimately shove the opposing champion overboard, this was far too important for such a petty whim.

Watching Charles, it became clear: the true allure for Alluring was in the Mahou boy’s possibilities. In the end, the title of champion was just a title, and Durmstrang was going to crush Ilvermorny anyway. Val just didn’t feel the assertiveness from Miles necessary to accept him as a target for their game. On the other hand, after discovering Charles’s blue gaze upon him, the shōnen Sara did not turn his eyes away.

Valentin squeezed Charles closer as he further examined the Mahoutokoro boy. He seemed strong, which was nice considering how many fist fights Charles got into… but what really struck Valentin was a familiar feeling. It felt like Mikael, the enchanting combination of enticing looks and the thrill of a terrible presence. Val loved Mik, and the boy was only more alluring after his pretty face got consumed by the warped heat of his fire scar. It was dangerous, Val making decisions from his position of fearlessness. The thrillseeker relished danger like this. He was the hell-chaser, the white immortal, and when thinking of his people, Valentin had to keep a cool head-- to stay frosty. He had to think, reasonably, logically, not just get sucked into the exhilaration of pushing limits.

Clearly, something was off about the Mahou boy. Yet, something was also off about both Mik AND Yefim, while Val still chased them around and loved them wholeheartedly. Valentin simply couldn’t justify being overprotective of his Karlchen, keeping him from the dangerous dalliances that he himself indulged in. What kind of hypocrite would Valya, the comet Icarus, be-- to deny Charles what he could never deny himself? Staring back at this new creature with his keen eyes, [d20 : 18] + 15 =33 Val understood immediately. The Mahou boy was, like himself, fearless. Snorting, Val smirked. The f*cker was interesting. Perhaps too interesting. Was it really okay to send Charles after him, after seeing what he had seen?

Valya looked back at Charles, who kept staring at the Japanese boy, transfixed. With a grisly sigh, Val put his second arm around the Brit and squeezed. It would be okay. Val would watch over him. His Karlchen was fated for immortality and Valentin would not let anyone get in the way of that. He had to believe that he, the captain, could take care of the boy even after sending him into harm's way. Would he tell Charles to quit quidditch? After that day in the hall, when Karlchen asked to go with him on his thrills... how could Val hold him back now?

«Забудьте о слабаке-американце. Подойдите к другому мальчику.» (“Forget the wimpy American. Approach the other boy,”) whispered Val into Charles’s ear. «Я буду прямо за тобой.» (“I will be right behind you.”)
