EXPLANATIONReducio› Students have been separated into semi-randomized groups (12 or 14 per group, partially weighted by year)
› Each round, Students (ICly) take turns spinning a bottle to determine a partner (those who spin in a given round are randomized)
› Players will have 1 week to RP their character's action (kiss / hug / retreat). God modding is NOT allowed, and all actions should be made as attempts to allow the recipient the freedom to react (unless you have express permission from that individual to do otherwise)
› When the week is over, a new round will start with newly randomized list of spinners and spinnees. Students will have one week each round to submit their posts
› Failure to post by a round's deadline will result in the assumption that the character froze up and declined to continue. They will be removed from the game
› All IC rules still apply and IC consequences are possible depending on the situationSite rules and rating will also always apply. All actions/descriptions must comply with them. The game takes place Aug 28th
〘 THE SETTING 〙On the evening in question, the Quidditch stadium would once again undergo something of a transformation. In place of lush grass, it had been filled yet again with water, waves rolling lazily across its depressed surface to lap against the stands and novel shoreline. The breeze carried with it the smell of salt and sea. Sand surrounded its perimeter, one side built up like a tropical beach. White and soft and warm, the sand underfoot was speckled with the occasional pretty little shell to catch the fancy of collectors. A little make-shift ocean in the privacy of camp.
Along the length of the ample shore had been erected a number of tents equal to the number of groups to be participating in this little game. Tents might have been a bit of a misnomer. In truth, they appeared more like gazebos—circular sheltered pop-ups with black opaque mesh sides that kept the insects and prying eyes out while permitting the cool and refreshing summer breeze in.
Inside, there would be no real floor to speak of, bare sand for the beach-bound. But for those who found it to be far too rough and coarse and obnoxiously capable of getting everywhere, reed mats served as safe places to perch. A plethora of colourful pillows and cushions would also be found piled within. Just waiting for the grabbing they promoted the comfort and casual relaxation of the temporary would-be denizens.
Jars of various sizes and style circled the perimeter, providing soft mood lighting illumination for the upcoming activity without over-powering the romanticism of the starlit sky twinkling down from above an openly screened ceiling. Fruits and treats had been arranged in tantalizing displays on platters are regular intervals between the available seating, just begging to be nibbled. And at the shelter's centre, the highlight of it all: a green glass bottle poised on its side upon a raised circular dais.
One by one, the students would arrive, each claiming a spot of their own. And once the last had taken their seat, the game would begin.

Erin Ryan of house Slytherin, infamous almost hag and better known resident 'crazy person.' Not the datable crazy that is a good time, or the wild child that is the center of a party but rather the clinical sort that was dazed, crazed and fazed by something. Since the events of October 29, 2021 she had been relatively 'normal' but never right, a loner without known associations, family (Geoffrey had not been in Hogwarts in years as he had seemingly fell off the face of the planet) or friends. She simply faded into the background and let the rest of the year pass her by, there but only barely if it was not for her physical flesh one might have thought even she was ephemeral.
But she was trying, as poorly as the outcomes were going to be. Socially inept and attempting to emulate some semblance of 'normalcy,' she was destined to fail. She would be the first to arrive as the preordained spot, they were playing 'twirl the flagon' a nameplay on the old 'spin the bottle' trope. She wondered if she had participated in this teenage pastime before. She was uncertain. She was hopeful forever as she resumed her quest for what she had always lacked, for what she had beseeched of the crones. For the experiences that were promised to her, to fill what she had always lacked.
Five years later, she was back to square one.
She would watch as others entered, she did not recognize most of them - they had come from other schools for the most part with the uncanny exception of one, Jack Warren. There was a girl that caught her eye also, Marion Davenport a tall, thin and pretty brunette. She did not know her personally but she recognized the girl from classes they had shared over the past six years as well as the fact that they came from the same house. There was something different, more than the fact that she had went from blonde to brunette. Who cared if she wanted to have less fun. There was also this beautiful man, Arjan Oberoi. This gleaming, thick, full head of dark hair and tanned skin. His chiseled features earned a rightful stare. "I know who I hope the bottle stops on," she announced shamelessly.
She took a seat on a reed mat and took off her sandals which she placed behind her. From her pocket she withdrew a thin, oblong tin of breathmints from which she withdrew one and popped it into her mouth. When the game started, she watched the 'flagon' spin, the green glass bottle would spin about, landing on strangers (Dealla, Irina) before Jack took the bottle. There was a terrible hope that it would land on her, not for the sake of latent lust or an ill harbored sentiment but rather because this would be a 'relevant moment' for potentially her.
So when it landed Jack did not need to make the first move, although he rightfully could have and they would meet in the middle. Erin would turn over the mint tin in her hand, filling her hand with a pile of white, chalky bits. She would empty the minty pile into her mouth and give them a good quick chew before she swallowed the vile, crunchy stuff that was both hot and cold. Like a tightly wound spring had been sprung, she would attempt to take her apparent, unfortunately-fortunate depending on perspective teen down. She was not looking for a handshake. [Feel free to dodge, auto-success if you do.]
Action: Erin is attempting to pin Jack and kiss him for way too long for public purview.
Just a trick of the lighting they said...

How randomly romantic. The waterside venue with charming tents and comfortable, eclectic seating and a simple bottle as fate choses her target. For those that knew her, Marion Davenport was an attractive Slytherin muggle-born. She was not part Veela, she just had supposedly 'excellent genes.' She was not personally known by most, she kept a close-knit group of friends, however two thirds of that trio had unfortunately passed.
She was not even going to try to have an uneventful summer. Not when there was so much on the menu. The girl was simply briming from ear to ear, a dusty pink, high-collared cotton dress that grazed her knees. She was wearing simple white, strappy sandals and had a white purse that was slung over her shoulder. She took a seat on an oversized cushion, she picked something bright. She would take a seat next to whoever posts next. She did not really care who she was placed next to, the chaos would come from something else entirely.
Once the party had sufficiently entered the tent and the bottle was spun, she would take her turn. With a flick of the bottle, the bottle would spin on its central axis and ultimately slow to a stop on Alec Mason. Did she have any idea who the unfortunate unknown was? No, not in the least. It was not going to stop her either. "Well, aren't you adorable," she cooed. A head full of curls, a look of not yet stolen innocence. He was simply perfect.
She would lean over and attempt to pull Alec Mason in for a kiss. It was a bit more forceful and keen than her feminine appearance would have suggested. Also a bit more than a peck if their lips met. The only problem being, kisses with a hag come at a terrible price...
Note to Alec: If the kiss lands, I will be sending you an owl.
Action: Attempts to 'kiss' Alec.

When Felix had found out 'Twirl the Flagon' was basically another game of spin the bottle, he was beyond pissed. How the hell was he supposed to know what flagon meant? It wasn't a game he was interested in playing, given how 'well' last year had gone.
It wasn't as if his summer could get much worse. He had been forced into changing his hair by his mother, who apparently thought the normal stark white colour wasn't going to cut it for a representative of his school. His body was also sore from the daily workouts and he felt awkward strutting around when none of his clothing fit him properly. His mother hadn't had time to buy him new clothes and had packed a few of his father's old shirts for him, as Åke was a larger man himself. He was wearing one to allow the late summer breeze to cool him down. Why the hell people were obsessed with muscles he'd never know.
Still, as he entered his assigned tent he couldn't help but think after a weird breakup and the rest of his life's changes, perhaps he would finally get a fun nigh--
"You've got to be fucking kidding me." Why... WHY WAS HE HERE? It was bad enough that the weird brick wall kissing guy from last year was present (this is if Alec is already present, if not ignore this thought), but now Arjan?! DID MERLIN HATE HIM?
He was tempted to turn around and walk out, but he forced himself to stay. He had no plans on letting this asshole run his life or have the satisfaction of watching him walk away. Besides, he was a much better kisser than last year so maybe he would see how-- What, no. Why the hell was his mind even going there? He grumbled and took a seat next someone else (feel free to say it's your character).
He glanced downwards as his former dueling team mate spun the bottle, a bit surprised when it landed on him. "Well, Queenie, it's up to you if you want to kiss a lowly Rook." He shrugged his shoulders, his comment referring their positions during last year's match. He wasn't going to just go for it like he had last year.

Signing up for a quirkily named spin the bottle event together with your boyfriend? Possibly not the most orthodox thing to do, but Dee had maybe possibly probably quite likely not thought it through. You could just decide to hug people, anyway, if she'd understood the rules correctly. On the other hand, last time she'd kind of intentionally kissed another boy (the Amortentia hadn't been her fault, okay), they'd actually started dating right after, so who knew what developments this game would bring?
Shorts, a shirt, hair loose, she hadn't exactly dressed up for the occasion, but when did she ever? Pulling Jack towards the gazebo, Dee grinned at the pretty setup. Ooooh, sand. While she had the sea at home in Whitehaven, her hometown was not exactly known for its sandy beaches. Dee kicked off her shoes before stepping into the sand, picking them up in her left hand, then hopped forward and into the airy tent announcing her presence to those who had arrived before them with a grin. "Hellooo, I'm Dee, looking forward to kissing you all... I'm kidding, not all of you." Mostly just Jack.
Her playful mood lasted for all of five seconds while her gaze swept the room for familiar faces - Alec was noted, Irina, Santario if any of them were already present - before it was was met with an icy shower, shocking the smile off her face. Even with a different hair colour, Marion's face was one she recognised, and with it came the memory of past conversations; two to be exact. Which had told her that this girl was not quite what she appeared to be, if Flash and Jack - the other Jack - were to be believed. Suddenly, everyone else didn't seem to deserve much attention anymore.
A lot more cautious than she tended to be, Dee took a seat at a careful distance to Mary, down on the sand instead of bothering with a reed mat. What do you do when unexpectedly faced with a hag? Nothing, for the moment, apparently, except keeping a tense eye on her.
The game began with stories yet untold, she would give Milosh a slightly forced smile and eyebrows raised in challenge when his bottle spin ended pointed to her. They'd met a year ago, but if he remembered, she did not. "Lucky you?" she asked. Either way, initiative was on the bottle spinner, wasn't it? So she'd wait.
Except apparently not everyone had gotten the memo on the initiative, because when Jack's bottle pointed to the older blonde girl, said girl didn't think it was necessary to wait for anything (she may have a point). Distracted still by trying to watch Marion, Dee's head would turn in horrified fascination to watch as Erin lunged forward. What in the... [Reserving a proper reaction for after Jack's post.]
After that horrifying event [tbd?] had played out, it was Marion's turn, and Dee tensed, her eyes on the girl. Did she recognise Dee? Who knew, it had been two years. Bottle spun, it pointed to Alec, and Dee's body reacted faster than her brain. When Marion reached out for her former duelling opponent, Dee lurched forward, her hand flying towards Alec's face. After all, no matter how things stood between them, he didn't deserve to be eaten. Or cursed. Or... you know, whatever. Kissed. Better to stay away from her mouth, in any case.
Action | Trying to cover Alec's mouth with her hand before Marion kisses him.

@Serena Bowen
Quite frankly, Elena blamed it on misinformation that she was even here in the first place. The brunette had filled out the form, yes but somehow, her mind had not seemed to connect that a flagon transpired to the same thing as a bottle and yet, here she was in a game that she had misinterpreted. Another added factor might have been the Gryffidor in her that sought out the need to partcipate in virtually everything known to man perhaps as a means to break out of that quiet and reserved nature she so often adopted although some people might say that was not exactly a bad thing. Still, she went ducking under the tent flap to wander inside glancing around at who was present. One thing was certain, the Gryffindor girl would not be brushing up against anyone's personal spaces or at least, that was she told herself. As for what actually happened, that remained for the bottle and time to determine.
She watched with intent eyes as it spun and spun in a seemingly limitless and endless circle before finally shuddering to a stop on another girl. Well, the answer was clear on this one as she glanced across the circle to the person she was fated to be with. Granted, this wasn't Elena's first rodeo and the girl had certainly not always erred on the side of caution all the time and while she was in the buisness of mingling and just being a outgoing person overall, Elena Jangleton did not think that this was the most effective way of doing such things as her mind flashed back to Lamik, well, at least it wasn't another boy, the girl thought to herself or that might have been more probematic as she made her way across to Serena.
Both of them would surely be left in suspense as to what the other was plotting but Elena's intentions would soon become clear as she lifted her arms clearly indicating for a friendly embrace. It seemed like a safe option, nothing too deep and they could pass it off as a friendly moment, nothing more even if they were total strangers to each other. "Reckon both of us will get off safe with this one." She said attempting to crack a light joke moving towards the girl in an attempt to relax the probable nervousness or whatever else the girl might be feeling. She just hoped the other wasn't feeling too bold in particular but even if she was, Gryffindor that she was, Elena Jangleton had never truly become accustomed to backing away from something that she had acknowledged the risks of when going into it.
ACTION:Attempting to hug Serena but will go along with any of the other options if Serena chooses to

Spin the bottle. A common children's game for those who are excited, shy or somewhere in between. After a quick sweep of the faces around him it seemed he was paired with an older group of students. Some from foreign schools, some comfortably from Hogwarts. He'd sit down, making himself comfortable and watched as others went to take their seats around, making some sort of a circular-ish shape. His left hand curled into a fist of which he lay his cheek on, gaze darting to the bottle in the middle as people began to spin it. One by one they took turns spinning the bottle and some "oohs" or laughter were heard every time a pair was announced. Finally his cool hand reached out to spin the bottle. As it slowed his dark brown orbs lifted to peer across him to where the bottle pointed. In it's place sat a girl who seemed to mumble something just out of his ear's distance.
Was she disappointed? The blonde boy rose to his feet and made his way over to the girl. Seeing a rather enraged look on her face he'd glance over his shoulder seeing a guy and gal about to kiss. His eyebrows raised trying to connect the dots. Momentarily distracted he saw the girl lurch forward to block the action. Having a few spare seconds to contemplate what to do, he'd quickly react. Grabbing her hand that went to cover the boy's mouth he'd softly clasp his hand over hers, locking it and pulling it away.
"Hey.. hey look at me. It's just a game." Milo placed his other hand on the side of her face, trying to raise her gaze to his eyes. The boy's eyes fluttered shut and he'd raise his lips to her face. Pausing, he'd place a gentle kiss to her temple and linger for a few seconds. Something in his mind told him that the last thing she needed was a total kiss from a stranger. Releasing his hand from cupping her face he'd make distance between them again. Giving her hand a tight squeeze, as if trying to reassure her he'd drop the grip he had on her and move back to his seat. The situation was none of his business even if it did pique his curiosity. Closing his eyes he'd enjoyed the warmth from the sand around him and the small breeze that tickled his face.

Alec MasonAttire
Walking towards the shoreline and slowly trudging through the white sand; Alec tied his hair back with a piece of ribbon. The young teen would do anything to keep his curly(and slightly frizzy due to heat) mess of hair away from getting to his face. His eyes wandering the quidditch stadium and he walked, trying to take everything in. Who would have thought the inside of a quidditch stadium could look as scenic and as beautiful as it did in this very moment? All he wanted to do was remember the way it looked, he wanted to capture it in his memory forever. Stopping at the edge of the shoreline Alec's legs lock into place. He felt drawn to the water and watched as the gentle and yet grandiose waves roll in. Closing his eyes, a cool breeze filled the air, the gentle waves helping it along. The breeze prickled at his skin and brought with it the smell of the sea. He wondered how a scent so foreign could feel so familiar.
When he opened his eyes Alec's left hand reached to touch the sand, picking it up. Tipping his open hand to the side he let gravity takes it course, with time the sand falling out of his hand. When all the sand had fallen it revealed a seashell. With a smile an a hum he pocketed the shell for safekeeping. He brushed his hands together to take care of any excess sand left on his hand. He could have stood there for hours and been content. Alec appreciated any location easy on the eyes. He stayed to enjoy the moment a few seconds longer. After those few seconds he turned his head away, back onto his main focus, to what should have been the matter at hand before he had been distracted by the water.
Alec's gaze would latch onto the tents along the length of the shore. They were circular, set up for a game of spin the bottle. Currently where he was supposed to be instead of out by the shoreline. His least fond memories of summer camp last year had come from this adolescent kissing game. It was never brilliant with how he remembered it to begin with. However, this year it was going to be different. He was sure of it. Playing spin the bottle when you intend on kissing people is much different than playing it adding stage tricks to the mix. Especially when it saves the poor souls who spun the bottle and landed on you from being shoved.
-- random fun really unneeded paragraphs over | paragraph under becomes more relevant to the thread at hand --
His legs began moving, walking he would make his way towards the tent where he was supposed to be. It wouldn't be long before he found himself intermingled and curious of the personal dramas with those within, having caught the words of a very irritated sounding person(@Felix Kolbeck@Winnie Harper) before he entered. He almost thought twice about walking in.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me."
Alec wanted to know what it was about, he was only human, he couldn't help if he was curious and possibly far too nosy. “What's wron-” He would enter, standing behind the irritated person. It wouldn't take Alec long to realize how he recognized the stranger's voice. “Oh,” him, from spin the bottle last year. The kid he shoved. One of the few people he'd formally held a grudge on. Alec didn't think it was a huge deal the kid was here, he couldn't have cared less about last year's incident. Still, there was no need to start the night off on the wrong foot. People liked compliments, maybe it would cheer the guy up from whatever he'd been irritated about. “Your hair looks better this way,” Alec would whisper to Felix as he walked past him, Alec on his way to take a seat. He just hoped that was the right compliment to give. Alec thought it looked better. It was a major contrast from the stark white hair he'd had.
Taking a seat on a thin blue cushion Alec smiled shyly and would wave as a friendly gesture to those who had already entered the tent, and to those who would be entering the tent. Alec would take a few minutes to feel settled into the environment, taking a look around and familiarizing himself. A circle of cushions and pillows, platters of snacks and fruits between seating, the bottle in the middle, jar lighting. What Alec liked most was the fact he could look up and see the stars.
People would arrive, trickling in until finally the game was set to set start. Alec's eyes flitted across the circle, assessing each person there. While there were few people he recognized those that he did recognize guaranteed an eventful night was ahead of him. Alec squinted, fate worked in some seriously strange ways.
The game began and Alec watched as people spun the bottle, each taking their turns. During the first spin, someone he didn't know would spin the bottle, landing on someone he did know(Milosh, Dealla). The pattern would repeat itself once more in the second spin(Irina, Felix) and Alec absentmindedly fidgeted with the bracelets he was wearing while he watched. Certainly the most eventful bottle spin of the night thus far had to be the third and most recent recent spin concluded(Jack, Erin). The green bottle landed on a blonde, one looking rather eager to go after who had landed on her. She had looked practically feral. Not that Alec would be willing to admit that bit out loud.
An unknown brunette(@M J Davenport) would be up to spin the bottle next. She flicked the bottle and the bottle spun around the circle, slowing it finally came to a stop in front of Alec. It took a moment to dawn on him, a moment to remember he was an active participant in the game.
"Well, aren't you adorable,"
The brunette's words made his head turn to look at her, his face flushed. Alec's eyes gave her a once over, she was what other people would call 'conventionally attractive'. As for Alec... Adorable really was not the compliment she thought it was. He wasn't aiming to be adorable. “I-” he started flustered, only to stop immediately. There was no good response or reply. She was probably just trying to be nice anyway. Maybe he was supposed to say thank you?
Alec was distracted from the focus of the game. Someone had to keep Alec on track, seeing as he let himself get this far off track, it would not be him. The brunette leaned over and Alec remembered it didn't matter how he replied. It was just a kissing game. Alec would lean in, the brunette pulled him in for a kiss and he would let her, showing no sign of hesitation to kiss her.
Action: Alec leans in to kiss Marion

As Serena walked into the gazebo, she remembered the time she had accidentally stumbled into this game last year. But, at least this year, there was a sign-up list, and she knew what she was walking into this time. At first, Serena had debated signing up again. While it was kind of fun, it was also a bit awkward, especially since, at the time, Serena did not have that much experience with romance.
But Serena had decided to force herself out of her comfort zone and join the game again, so here she was, ready to embrace the awkward. After she walked in, she quickly grabbed a seat on one of the reed mats. She did not want to have to clean off all of that sand from her body; no, thank you. As she watched as people spun around the bottle, the fourth year was not sure if she wanted the bottle to actually land on her or not. But of course, as she was debating on chickening out of the game, the bottle landed on her. Looking up, she noticed that the person who had spun the bottle was Elena, a girl in the year above her.
Serena was slightly relieved when Elena lifted her arms, clearly indicating that she would prefer a hug. “Yeah, I guess so,” Serena said as she also raised her arms and gave the older girl a quick but friendly hug.
That was not so bad, but of course, the night was just beginning, so who knew what could happen.

Jack generally was a jealous type, not that he would ever admit it, but he had played a game similar to this last year in camp. There were more options than just kissing, so it felt like a solid plan for Jack to get his smooch on with Dee. It was a flawless idea and that needed flawless execution, but if everything went to plan Jack will be getting all of the kisses he wanted.
His imagination was getting the better of him, as Dee suddenly pulled him closer to the large gazebo. Ew, sand. it always got everywhere, but it was a small price to pay for smooches. Jack and Dee had a theme going on here. They liked casual. Plus it didn't hurt that Jack thought that Dee was super cute whenever she went casual. The fourth year himself was dressed in a black t-shirt and jean shorts—nothin' special. Sitting down next to Dee, Jack couldn't help but glower a tad bit at her mentioning kissing everyone, before she sprung out with a just kidding. Little did Jack know how interesting this game was going to be.
With a mighty bottle whip, the thing would spin around...and around....and around... only to find the open end pointing directly at a certain blonde upperclassman that he had some history. It had almost been a godsend for the several years that passed without this girl crossing his path again, but today that changed. The face battle would initiate again, and there was nothing Jack could do about it. Time slowed as Erin pounced on him like a tiger stepping on a mouse's tail. He wasn't ready to die- This couldn't be it-
Sadly the intense face battle would not end any time soon, as past experience had let him know.
