Summer Camp '22 Capture the Jolly Roger (Sign Up)

Are you looking for an activity that is perhaps more athletic? Something where you can meet new people and instantly be thrust into an intense match? Something thrilling, and slightly dangerous? Or perhaps just an activity to show the competitive side in you?

If you fit any of the criteria above, then sign up for Capture the Jolly Roger!

How It Works:

Similar to the classic Capture the Flag, the aim of Capture the Jolly Roger is to win as many points as possible.

• Depending on how many people sign up will depend on the amount and size of the teams.
• Each team will have a base where they will begin and store their team’s flags. To reach any team’s base, there is an obstacle in front of it.
• At the centre of the arena but surrounded by obstacles is the Jolly Roger (worth 50 points), which is available to steal. Once stolen from the centre, it can be stolen from other teams’ bases.
• Each team also has team flags (worth 10 points) that they must guard and stop the other team(s) from stealing. A team flag is only considered as stolen if it is in another team’s base. You can steal stolen team flags either back for your team and/or (if there are more than 2 teams) steal stolen ‘team’ flags from another team.
• Which flag is stolen will be rolled at random unless specifically stated in the action.
• All points will be added and subtracted along the way OOC, but IC the points will be tallied at the end of the game.
• The winning team will each receive chocolate frogs depending on the size of teams. The players with the most points will also be given a prize.
• Actions and more details will be given when the game begins.

OOC info:

• You are welcome to sign up with both your PC and iNPC.
• The whole game will last for 4 rounds + arrivals. You will have 6 days to post between moderation posts.
• If you do not post by the deadline, it will be assumed that your character is tired and choosing to sit out a round. Actions for that character will therefore not be counted. If you do not post for 2 rounds, you will not be eligible for the rewards if your team wins.
• Similar to other sports in H.io, Team Captains will be chosen to manage each team. You can apply to be a Captain below when you sign up. It is ideal (but not required) if you are on Discord. If you are chosen, I will contact you. PCs and iNPCs will be considered. If there are no applicants, I will reach out to individuals. As a Team Captain, I will expect you to be in contact with your teammates to discuss strategies/actions. Players can owl or DM their own actions, but it would be ideal if Captains could compile the actions and send them to me. Team Captains will be rewarded 3 extra chocolate frogs for stepping up, no matter if their team wins.
• As this is a team-based game, communication is ideally required between players. Therefore, Discord (although not a direct requirement) is recommended so you can contact teammates and discuss potential strategies.
• All site rules apply, including the 200 word count and site rating.
• Please let me know via owl or on Discord RedGalaxie#0772 if there is anyone you do not want to be teamed with and, ideally, the reason. I will do my best to accommodate (I cannot guarantee unfortunately because I don't know how many will sign up).
