Emma nodded along to show she was listening. Sometimes it could be awkward, but at least then the person knew they were heard. ”Oh, yes, they are. Do you just imagine them? Or are they based on landscapes and sunsets you’ve seen or visited?” Emma asked, curious as she could never be that creative. She tended to stick to crafts or art that was more structured and step by step. Emma was surprised to see Neptune’s hair start changing color but didn’t want to say anything as she was sure it was normal for the wizarding world. It only made sense that people could change appearance at will, although she was curious if it was every wizard and if so if she’d be able to do the same or if it was specific. But again, she didn’t want to ask, it just felt a bit weird.

Emma waited until Neptune finished speaking before adding on to the conversation to once more show they were listening. ”That would be a bit uncomfortable I’m sure. But hopefully the beaches made up for it. Did you go swimming often?” Emma loved the water and hoped there were opportunities to swim and/or soak in a tub. She loved being able to just go soak in a tub to relax occasionally. Though she knew with sharing it wouldn’t be likely to happen often.

Emma was slightly surprised to hear Neptune hadn’t been camping before but it wasn’t that unusual. Her family tended to do so at least once a year if not more often. Though often the trips were short and on long weekends, they always made sure to do a longer trip during the summer break. ”It is! It’s really enjoyable. And we tend to do a lot of fun activities, plus the s’mores.” Emma grinned, remembering the taste of the delicious treats.

Emma nodded. Everyone always seemed to be interested in hearing about twins. Having twin siblings was interesting but sometimes lonely. They always seemed to be on the same wavelength and Emma didn’t have that same connection. Not to mention both twins tended to be more outgoing while she was much more introverted. ”Yep, those would be my brother and sister, Bryony and Zachery. Bit of a surprise for mum and dad but they’re cool for the most part.” Emma was sure more questions were coming but she didn’t mind. It meant there would be more conversation and not require her to figure out a new topic at least.

Neptune continued listening to Emma, answering the occasional questions.

Well, for the most part, I imagine the sunsets and sunrises. It allows a little more creativity. Although, some are based on sunsets I've seen back home or from Florida." They said, before continuing to listen to Emma talk some more.

I mean, it wasn't a bad thing. Neptune had been ditched by their brother, but in return, had gotten their first possible friend at Hogwarts. It made Neptune happy to be talking to someone who genuinely didn't seem annoyed at them. Yes, many times, anyone who Neptune had tried to talk to, just got really annoyed and looked at them, muttering freak. They never knew why. Maybe it was the fact that they had beaten up a girl for obvious reasons, twice, then got expelled the second time. Or maybe it was because of their gender identity. Neptune played with their rings, still listening to Emma, giving a response to a previous question.

"Yea, the heat in Florida can be quite uncomfortable, but the cool water of the ocean definitely makes it all worth it. It's fun, just floating in the water, or even just laying on the sand, relaxing to the sound of joyous laughter and the waves."

Neptune stopped talking, pausing to let Emma tell them about camping after they had mentioned that they have never went camping. Once Emma paused talking, Neptune spoke their reply, "Well, I think camping sounds really fun! What activities did you do exactly?" They asked, hoping Emma wasn't too bothered by the amount of questions. At least it kept conversation going.

Emma spoke up one last time, telling Neptune about her twin siblings, Bryony and Zachery.

"That's cool that you have twins in your family," They said, "I just have an older brother, Jasper, who ditched me on the train before I found you."

In all honesty, Neptune was glad that they saw Emma and sat with her. Thanks to Emma, Neptune's train ride to Hogwarts, so far, has been pretty great. And who knows, maybe this will be Neptune's first ever friend in the magical community.

Emma grinned, the train ride going much better than she had thought. She honestly had been scared and miserable about this whole situation but meeting Neptune definitely made her feel better about the whole thing, although still anxious about the upcoming event. She was sure they would end up in front of people, and Emma really didn’t like doing that. But hopefully it was quick and painless…..what if there was pain involved?

She forced her brain to refocus just catching Neptune’s answer to her question about painting. ”That makes sense! And is very cool.” Emma tried not to gush too much but she knew that she didn’t like it when people gushed to the point of insincerity, so she hoped that she hadn’t said too much.

”That would be fun! Though I admit, my brain would be humming the JAWS theme. I know shark attacks aren’t really common but I should not have watched that movie. Makes me nervous about the ocean.” Emma laughed slightly nervously. It was true that that movie had truly scared her to the point that she much preferred pools or lakes. She would swim in the ocean but would stay closer to shore, her head on a swivel.

Emma was glad that Neptune asked her a question, keeping the conversation going as Emma had trouble doing that at times. ”Oh yeah, so we swam in this lake nearby, did some hiking, flashlight tag, went to a few nearby attractions, like this really cute petting zoo! The animals were just adorable! Then if there was some rain, we played board games or cards inside.”

Emma scrunched her nose. ”I don’t know. They can be a bit of a pain at times. They have the whole twin connection thing. Aw, well that was a bit rude, but I kind of am glad he did because then you came here. How much older is he?” Emma assumed he was older, because presumably he ditched her to go meet friends or something like that.

Neptune was happy. All awkwardness from before had faded away as Neptune and Emma kept talking. And not only were they happy, but they were also proud. Neptune had made a friend, despite their awkward nature, and so far, the friendship seemed to keep growing. They kept listening along to Emma as she started to talk about how painting imaginary sunsets made more sense.

After Neptune had talked about swimming in the ocean and relaxing on the beach, Emma talked about the sound of a movie, JAWS to be specific. Apparently, the movie had scared her so much that she would only swim in lakes and pools.

"JAWS? I've never seen that movie." Neptune said, "What's is about?"

Neptune may be a half-blood, but that didn't mean they knew everything about the muggle world. Neptune decided to continue listening to Emma speak and answer their previous question about what she did while camping. Neptune must admit, the petting zoo did sound pretty cute. Baby animals and animals, in general, could be pretty cute. Emma then asked about Jasper, Neptune's brother, after talking about her twin siblings' "mental connection."

"Yeah, Jasper's about two years older than me. He ditched me to go meet some of his friends he hadn't seen all summer. Didn't even bother to help me. But agreed, sorta glad he did ditch me. If he hadn't, I would have never ended up here, talking to you!"

Emma shivered at the thoughts that were crowding in of the horror movie. She couldn’t believe she had been allowed to watch it. Mind you, her parents had warned her it was scary but she had been bound and determined that she was not a baby and could watch whatever she wanted. Yeah, that phase hadn’t lasted long. She had stayed away from all scary movies, even potentially scary movies since then. It was just not going to happen for a long, long, long time, if ever. Instead she’d stay with her young adult adventure and romance novels, and movies, as well as some classics. And she made sure to take her parents warnings seriously when they mentioned something might be scary.

Emma wasn’t sure how best to convey the fearful movie but for her new friend, she’d try. ”So, it’s based on a book, and directed by Stephen Spielberg which now serves as a warning, at least for me. Basically this shark kills a woman, but the mayor of the town refuses to shut down the beach, and the shark continues to kill, so this sheriff, scientist and old seaman hunt it down. Needless to say, even though you don’t see the shark kill people with blood and stuff, it’s still really scary.” Another shiver went down her spine, as she recalled the plot. She almost wished she could just remove the whole thing from her brain.

”Oh cool! Funnily enough the twins and I are two years apart as well. That was a bit rude of him, but I agree, I’m enjoying our conversation!” Emma’s mind was still stuck a little on JAWS and her experience with the movie, so she asked Neptune, ”Have you ever read or watched something you just wish you never had?”

Neptune watched as Emma shivered a bit at the thought of the movie called 'Jaws'. What could have been that scary to strike fear into their friend and give her a fear of water?

Neptune listened intently as Emma explained the plot of the horror movie to them. They nodded along as Emma explained how it was based on a book, and how this shark kills people, and how three people go hunting for it, not closing the beach down.

Neptune had always had an unspoken fear of sharks, so they were always aware of the water and how far in they went, especially while visiting George in Florida. Although, they decided to make a comment, excluding their small fear, about the movie.

"So technically, a shark would bite people's arms and legs off before killing them, right?" They said, looking at Emma, "So, if you watched the movie in reverse, would it just be a story of a freindly shark who gives limbs to diabled people?"

They finished their comment, letting out a laugh at the end at how ridiculous it sounded.

The conversation topics switched, from the movie, to thier siblings, and now on to Emma asking a question.

”Have you ever read or watched something you just wish you never had?” She said, going back towards the topic of wishing she hadn't ever watched Jaws.

"Um actually, not really. I was actually homeschooled for three years and then I went to public school, so I haven't actually read or seen or read a whole lot of things that I regret." They stated truthfully, "Actually, one thing I do regret doing was grabbing my brother's journal when I was younger. He liked to write memories that he'd never want to forget in there, so it wasn't so much a diary. I read through that thing and there were some things that I didn't even know had happend to him. It alright now though." They finished, fiddling with their rings again.

Suddenly, the whistle of the train sounded, signaling that they were almost to the school.

"Well, I guess I'll be seeing you around, Emma. It was lovely to meet you." They said before grabbing their things, waving, and leaving the compartment.

OOC Note~ Hey sorry for basically ignoring this for months. I was feeling motivated for only a few of these, and I can only write a few before not being able to do more. Though, that isn't really an excuse. I'm glad your roadtrip was good, and I love watching the NHL. I also did get a new computer, so that's all fixed up! I hope you have a good day/night.

Emma had long ago learned her lessons about any movies that leaned towards horror, namely that she had no tolerance for them. She wanted the funny, romantic, or action movies rather than to be scared right out of her pants. Her parents had started letting her watch movies beyond the animated or kids movies, and Jaws had been her first foray into the more adult movies. Her parents had looked a bit concerned but had let her watch it anyway, shockingly. She now knew to be more careful and discerning about the movies she chose. She didn’t look up reviews but she definitely read the summaries more carefully and would ask for her parent’s or grandfather’s opinions about things she was interesting in watching.

Emma turned her head slightly, looking at Neptune a bit like she was odd. Though really, it only took moments before she was roaring with laughter, small snorts occasionally sneaking past. It took a bit to get her laughter under control, and she took a few gasping breaths before wiping her eyes with her sleeves. “That would be hilarious? Could you imagine? Maybe I’ll have to watch it again but backwards. It might cure the fear.”

She frowned seriously at the end of Neptune’s comments, saddened to hear that. “I’m sorry to bring up bad memories. I’m glad that it’s alright though.” Emma looked around at the sound of the whistle, confused as she hadn’t noticed the time. “See you later! I enjoyed our conversation.” Emma called out, hurrying to grab up her things and following Neptune out.
