Quill Pals PV Dexter Ragsdill, Rita Su

Rita was surprised to see the lovely Hufflepuff girl Cara sending a letter to her and Dexter and felt a little bit overwhelmed by her enthusiasm. Later, she found out she has been arranged to be the quill pal with Cara and Dexter, the Glyfinndor boy who founded the Musicians Corner club, of which she is a member.

Dear Cara,
Thanks for your letter and I`m glad to make friends with you. My name is Rita, Rita Su, but feel free to call me Riri and Little Su. I am also a rising second-year Hufflepuff student. Our hobbies are pretty similar, I also enjoy the things you are fond of, as well as sports, eating, music and traveling. I do have a wide range of hobbies. From your encyclopedia, it seems that you enjoy the care of magical creatures class, I am not sure I would enjoy it too due to some awful pictures of some beasts I saw when doing the defense against dark arts homework.
Anyway, Dexter and I are both members of the Musicians Corner club, if you are interested, feel free to join us. Thanks again for sending me this letter and look forward to your reply!

After writing this letter, she decided to also write a letter to Dexter, though she has made friends with him,

Dear Dexter,
Guess what? I just joined your club last week and now we are quill pals! But to be honest, I do not know much about you besides being the founder of the Musicians Corner club, enjoying defense against dark arts lessons, and having rich grandparents. What other hobbies do you have? As for me, besides music, I am also passionate about sports, nature, traveling, and food. What about you?
By the way, please remind me of the next meeting of the club and looking forward to your reply!

After writing letters to both of her new quill pals, she sent the letters to them and cannot wait for their reply. Then, she felt exhausted, so she went to bed to take a rest and prepare for the next day. "It is always good to have new friends!" She thought lying on her bed.

When I arrived back at my dorm a letter was waiting for me on my bed. I had just finished Astronomy, and I was exhausted. It was from my new quill pal! I ripped it open and read that it was from a Hufflepuff named Rita. I had seen her before, but knew very little about her. In her letter she talked about being in a music club.
Muggle music was something my wizard dad loved. He had taught me to play the electric guitar and electric bass. I had taught myself to play the dusty piano that sat in my living room. My dad also owned 3 saxophones which were all different sizes. Barry, Tenor, Alto. He was going to teach me to play the Alto, but I chose to go off to Hogwarts instead.
I sat down and began to write a letter to Rita.

Hi Rita!
I think I will join the club, as I play the piano, electric guitar, electric bass, have some drumming experience, and am going to learn the saxophone. What do you play in the music club? My dad plays lots of instruments, as we have a music studio in our basement. What’s your favorite class at school? Mine is obviously care of magical creatures, but since we don’t actually take that, Herbology is my favorite. Hope to hear from you soon!

When Rita woke up this morning, she was surprised to find a letter waiting for her on the desk. Cara has replied to her so quickly! Reading her letter, she was also amazed by the number of instruments she could play as she can only play the piano. She quickly grabbed her quill and a piece of paper to write a reply to her before going to classes. That is what she wrote:

Dear Cara,
I just cannot believe you replied to me so quickly! It is awesome that you are willing to join the club and can play piano, electric guitar, and electric bass. I can only play the piano and sing, so maybe you can teach me to electric guitar and bass after you joined the club. My favorite class is also herbology, and I find the name of the herbology professor (Tuesday) very interesting. (He does bear on a Tuesday!) I also enjoy studying astronomy and flying. I think defense against dark arts seems to not be my thing, other than that, I do not mind any subject. (Ironically, Dexter enjoys it.)
As for Dexter, I think he is busy with schoolwork or club staff, so he may not have time to reply to us. I do not think he is the kind of person that never replies to letters. Anyway, take care, take easy on schoolwork and look forward to your reply!

After writing this letter, she carefully sent it to Cara before picking up her things for the lessons later this day. She just cannot wait for Cara`s and Dexter`s replies. Cara was pretty quick but she was not sure Dexter could find some spare time in his busy schedule to reply to both of them. "let me see!" Rita thought when she picked up her bag and left her dorm to the classroom to get ready for classes. She did not want to be late for classes and got criticized by serious professors!

I arrived back at my dorm after lunch and saw a letter from my quill pal Rita. I immediately ripped it open and read it. I smiled as I read it’s contents. I immediately grabbed a quill, parchment, and some ink. I started scrawling out a fresh message.

Dear Rita,
I would love to teach you to play the guitar! I am super exited to join the club. I also joined a club called the Golden Explorers. We explore new areas of Hogwarts when ever we meet, and I love it. You should join! I mean, if you want to. It’s all about exploring, and being outside, so if you don’t really like that then you maybe shouldn’t join.
I’ll send a letter to Dexter, and tell him no pressure to respond.

After I finished the letter I pulled out another piece of parchment to write to Dexter.

Dear Dexter,
Rita, our other quill pal has told me you are likely busy with club stuff and school. No pressure on replying to my owls. Hope to hear from you soon!

I sealed both letters up in envelopes and ran up to the owlery. I gave them both to the same owl.
“This letter…” I said as I held up Rita’s letter, “Goes to Rita Su. And this letter…” I said as I held up Dexter s letter, “Goes to Dexter Ragsdill.” I watched the owl fly out the window and left.

When Rita finally came back to her dorm after a day of busy schoolwork, she found a letter waiting for her on the table. It was from her quill pal, Cara. She quickly looked through the letter and grabbed a pen and a paper to write a reply to her. That was what she wrote:

Dear Cara,
I hope you are well. I am glad to hear that you are willing to teach me to play the guitar! Besides, exploring different places on campus seems to be a fascinating idea, I have already registered in the club, and thank you for suggesting me this club. By the way, I really appreciate you writing a letter to Dexter to tell him to take it easy and not reply to letters in a hurry. Hope to hear from you soon and hope that Dexter could spare some time to reply to us!

After writing this letter, she went to the owlery and gave the letter to an owl, hoping that Cara will receive it soon and Dexter could finally find some time to reply to them. After sending the letter, she went back to her room and took a rest to prepare for the next day.

I was already in bed, reading, when a owl poked me with it’s sharp beak.
“Owww,” I mumbled. I took the letter, as the owl stared me down as I carefully ripped the seal. It was a letter from my quill pal Rita! I grabbed a fresh sheet of parchment, quill, and opened my bottle of ink. I began to write.

Dear Rita,
Do you have any pets? I don’t. I wish I had a Silver Siberian or a Barred Owl. My Mum has a great horned owl named Peacock, and she lets me borrow her to send owls. This summer I am going to summer camp with my best friend Athena. It’s a muggle camp, called Camp James. I am super exited to try out all of the fun muggle activities. What are you doing this summer? Anything fun or interesting like a trip to Egypt? I have always wanted to visit Egypt.

The owl was still there waiting for me, as if it knew I was going to write back. I placed the letter in an envelope, sealed it and gave it away to the owl. I went back under the covers as the owl flew out the window, on it’s way to Rita.

"Oh, Cara always replies to my letters so quickly! She is such a sweet girl and I just feel so lucky to have a quill pal like her!" Rita thought when she saw the letter from Cara lying on her desk, "I will quickly reply to her!" It was an interesting letter and Rita smiled as she read through it as Cara was so warm and helpful as usual. She quickly grabbed a quill and a paper to write her reply and that was what she wrote:

Dear Cara,
Thanks for your letter. I am still earning money to buy a pet and I plan to have a red Mackerel Tabby. I think it`s an adorable little cat with beautiful red stripes, and I plan to name it Peanut when I could afford to buy one. I will probably receive forty sickles for the completion of an errand, so as soon as I got that money, I should be afforded to buy one. As for the summer camp staff, since I am not that busy this summer, I shall look at it and think about participating in it. Anyway, thank you for providing the convenient way to mention all the members of the Golden Explorers club, that is so handy! Take care and look forward to hearing from you soon!

After completing this letter, she put it in an envelope, went to the owlery, and tied the letter to an owl. "Hope Cara will receive it very soon!" She thought walking back to her room, "And I am not sure when Dexter will reply to us, certainly there is no hurry to reply, but please do reply to them!"

I was sitting on my bed when an owl pecked at the window. I opened it up and the owl came in. There was a letter tied to its foot so I untied it. It was from my quill pal Rita! I read it and grabbed my letter writing supplies off of my nightstand. I began writing a letter to Rita.

Dear Rita,
I'm glad you are coming to summer camp with me. My friend Athena will be there too. Last night my mum said she got a email, on an old muggle computer she keeps in the house, from the camp place and the blue cabin is completely full. I hope your in it! Since it is a muggle camp, we get to do all the fun muggle activties, like archery, horseback riding, swimming, crafts, volleyball, soccer, and more! I hope that sometime you might want to hang out with me in person so we can get to know each other better.

I sealed up the letter and trotted up to the owlery. I sent it to Rita, using a snowy owl. I went back to my dorm and continued studying. I opened up my Journal and took notes using my brand new quill.

"Wow, another letter from Cara!" When Rita went back to her dorm from school and saw the snowy owl landing on her window to send the letter to her. There are some interesting things that she cannot wait to tell Cara, so after quickly looking through the letter, she grabbed a quill and a paper to write a reply. That was what she wrote:

Dear lovely quill pal Cara,
Glad to hear from you again. Yes, I joined the camp but since I have not arrived at the camp, I do not know anyone in the cabin yet, but It must be fun to interact with you in real life and it is also a great opportunity to get to know you more as a person through knowing how you are actually like behind the letters. I know there will be a variety of activities in the camp so it must be great to spend the summer with all those fascinating opportunities!
Besides, I have earned enough money to buy a red mackerel tabby and I have asked Mr. Browne, the head of our house, for it. He has kindly given me the cat so maybe we can talk about it more later. By the way, I saw you in the Pride Month errand but Professor Horne forgot to mention your name and give you the sickles. Maybe you could send her an owl to ask her about it!

After she finished her letter, she put it in an envelope, ran to the owlery and give the letter to an owl. "please send it to Cara!" She said to the owl and waited for Cara to see the letter and reply to it as she observed the owl fly off before going back to her dorm to complete her homework.
