"Are you going back to the common room?" Lucia had blurted out to a first-year Slytherin as they crossed paths in the entrance hall. After recieving conformation, Lucia had realised that it was too late to backpedal and had pressed on. "Can you... can you find Henry Knight? Tell him... Lucia wants to talk to him? In the..." The answer had come to Lucia easily. "In the courtyard." The Slytherin, giving her a strange look, had carried on their way, destined to pass on the message to Henry.

Lucia would already be in the courtyard by the time Henry arrived. She was sitting on a bench, the green box which she had found on her pillow next to her, River on her knees, staring into space. The courtyard was filled with almost as many ghosts as the common room had been: metaphorical ones, of course - Alexa probably wouldn't have wanted to become a ghost even if she knew how. But then again, she definitely wouldn't have wanted such a... such a short life. There was no way to reason with this. There was nothing right about it, nothing at all. It was all wrong.

It was around six o'clock in the evening and the sun had already dipped below the horizon, leaving the courtyard air cold and unwelcoming, lit only by lights from within the corridors running around the courtyard itself. Lucia pulled her coat tighter around herself and cupped River in her hands, trying to form some kind of protection for her against the cold. The Hufflepuff's coat was getting too small for her, and she was shivering a little. Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe she should wait... but if she waited now, she'd lose her nerve. She had to-

And then Lucia caught sight of Henry, and her train of thought pretty much crashed. She had to- she had to what? Why had she even asked Henry to come here? Did she want to apologise for their fight before the holidays? Did she want to ask him how he was? Or maybe... or maybe it was neither of those. Maybe she just wanted to talk about Alexa Mackenzie, best friend of Lucia Fox and girlfriend of Henry Knight; to remember her with someone else who had known her as well as Lucia had.

If Henry sat down next to her, the box between them, Lucia would quietly begin to speak. "We first met here, you know. Me and Alexa." She wasn't sure where this was coming from, but it made sense. "Lindsey Springhall was hosting an end-of-year party, at the end of our first year." A tear trickled down her cheek, softly, and it was a sign of just how deep into memories that she was that she didn't even notice it. Lucia turned to look at Henry, the bracelet which Alexa had had a twin of sliding down to become visible on her wrist. "I don't remember it exactly. I wish I did." Lucia's words weren't an apology for the way she had acted towards Henry in their fight before the holidays, not quite, but they were an implied olive branch. That didn't matter any more. Alexa, and keeping her memory alive, did.

Henry wasn't in a good headspace. He didn't feel ready to go back to the common room nor to socialize. Walking though the corridors, hands in his pockets. The teen felt his eyes flicker around as darkness crept closer and closer.

Loki at his onwer's heels, amber eyes gazeing upward. Carefully stuyding his onwer's movements- actions. Waiting for the moment to help, to distract.

Pausing, Henry found himself leaninf aginest one of the corridor walls. Head resting on the cool surface. Eyes closed for a moment. Hands still in his pockets. Flashes of light danced in his closed eyelids. Memories spiraled in his mind.

His chest trembled a little as his breathing quicken, biting his bottom lip and holding his eyes shut tighter. Determined not to fall, not to let his anxiety control him, not to have a panic attack in a public setting alone. No one around to pull him back from his thoughts.

Loki chewed at his pant leg, the fabric rubbing aginest his skin. A distraction. Henry took a few deep breaths then opened his eyes. Head resting on the wall as his eyes gazed up at the derkness of the ceiling. Hogwarts is full of memories, moments and flashes of her. The teen found he coild already go anywhere without seeing her, remembering her. His anxiety thundered overhead, growing in power now as the days passed.

Henry took a breath then a shaky yet stiff step, not feeling up to socialize or eat that night. Henry started on the long way back to the coldness and darkness of the slytherin common room. A part of him hoping he'll be the only one there, a part of him hoping for silence- for solitude.

Walking through the dungeons, Henry tried not to wander. Coming to a halt only mere steps away from the common room, his gaze looked and found a passageway. The passageway where Alexa helped him through a panic attack, the passageway where they grew closer, where they made plans, dicussed their families, where they found each other.

The teen torn his eyes away, deciding to continue on. Walking toward the common room then stepping inside the dark area, takeing a breayh of relief as his gaze set for his dormitory. Choosing to hide out in hia bunk room for the rest of the night. Walking toward the room, a younger slytherin crossed his path.

Loki let out a low growl from the floor below, Henry eyed the student as he spoke"excuse me," attempting to move pass them but the slytherin stopped them and quickly blurted out that Lucia told them to tell him to meet her in the courtyard. Henry stared at the student and opened his mouth to tell the student to tell Lucia that he isn't coming when the student scurried off.

Gaze followed the student. Henry wasn't in the mood for socializing and he didn't think that Lucia would want to see him especially after their fight before the holiday. The teen felt his gaze drop down to his orange feline as he thought.

Lucia was Alexa's best friend. If she was here then she wouldn't want the two to fight or avoid each other, the teen guessed. His mind knowing that the two of them should remember Alexa and not avoid each other for a petty topic.

Taking a breath, Henry went toward hia bunkroom. Grabbing the celtic bracelet that Alexa made and owned a twin of. The teen held it close as he left his dorm and common room, heading for the courtyard. Loki in tow.

Stepping foot inside the courtyard, Henry looked around before he saw her. Lucia Fox. Instantly regretting going, the teen took a few breaths and wished that he never showed up. That he hid away instead. And yet a part of him felt like he should be there, he should be there remembering Alexa Mackenzie with her best friend. Two people who knew the redheaded hufflepuff well and was close to her. It felt like a duty, like this is what they are suppose to do.

Walkimg over, Loki bounded ahead. Rubbing aginest Lucia's legs agter all the felime haven't seen the girl in a bit. Henry offered a nod as he took a seat besides Lucia on the bench. Eyes forward. Loki jumping up, taking a seat between the students on that bench.

Lucia spoke first. Recounting the day that she first met Alexa Mackenzie. At a party that another hufflepuff hosted, boue gaze still ahead as he listened to the girl. A memory formed in his mind, Lucia took the first step and ir inlt felt right that he took the next one.

Emotionless except for his eyes, the blue filled of pain as he spoke"one memory stands out the most of the rest," his fingers reaching inside his jacket pocket, pulling out the celtics bracelet. Bringing it to view as his fingers traced the letters, "a month or two into second year, Alexa and I found each other in the dungeons where she told me what the meaning of friendship is," gaze drifted down toward the bracelet. Hair fallinf over his eyes.

As he recounted his memory, @Henry Knight pulled out a bracelet from his pocket and rubbed it between his fingers. It took a moment for Lucia to remember where she'd seen it before, but after a second or so it came back to her. Alexa had had a bracelet like this. It must have been a gift from one to the other. It seemed fitting, somehow, that both Alexa's best friend and boyfriend should have bracelets tying themselves to her.

Found each other. It was strange how just threw words could carry so much meaning. On the one hand, Alexa and Henry could have literally found each other, lost in the darkness of Hogwarts' dungeons. But, on the other hand, two people can find each other without the setting making any difference. Lucia and Alexa had found each other. Henry and Alexa had found each other. And, at the end of the day, that was all that mattered.

Lucia smiled a little at Henry's story. The meaning of friendship. That sounded like something Alexa would do. Would have done. There was a heartbeat of silence before the Hufflepuff spoke again. "What was it?"

When Henry had told her, or if he didn't say anything, Lucia slipped her three amigas bracelet from her wrist and twisted it in her fingers, similarly to how Henry was with his leather one. "Alina got these for us, at the start of our second year." She held the bracelet out so that Henry could see it. "Three amigas. It means friends, I think." Lucia's thumb rubbed the inscription. "We were all in the same dorm room, and we made it so our beds were next to each other. Alina- Alina made a pact, she called it; a pact of friendship. The pact of Badger Bungalow. And we all signed it." Lucia could probably recall the terms of their pact in her sleep, but now wasn't the time for that. "She painted a picture of us, as well. Alina, Lucia, Alexa. Always better together. And that was it. Best friends. Then Alina went off to Beauxbatons at Christmas, so it was me and Al- Alexa, and then- and now-" A sob escaped her. "And now I'm the only one left."

Henry stared out. Fingers pulling, holding at the bracelet. The leather feel, the traces indented. The teen held to it. Eyes glistening. Unable to lose it's water... tears... the teen held to the bracelet. Loki sat between, head rested on his knee. The feline wanted to help... help his onwer but wasn't sure how... or even if he could help the lad.

The meaning.... Alexa's meaning... "uh-" Henry started, rubbing at his nose as his eyes drawn down. The bracelet. Holding to the bracelet, his grip growing tighter to it...tigh yet shaky... trembling... the teen felt his voice tremble, the memory burned as he spoke"that friends are always there for each other, they tell each other burdens so one- so one doesn't have to go with them alone..." Hus voice lost. Holding the bracelet close through a trembling grip.

His eyes drifted toward Lucia. The bracelet. Alina... he drew in a breath... the teen owed it to the girl... owed her everything... it was through her how he met Alexa... how he met someone he couldn't drfine as a best friend nor crush.... the dating listening, quietly nodding as he spoke"it does mean friends," listening, eyes dropped to the bracelet trembling in his grip. Eyes glisten. He found his heart arching, mind in pain... he felt himself reliving emotions that he wished to never experience again.

Her words. A painting. The sob. Loki looked over, a soft meow. A paw to her shoe. The teen took his hand, trembling as he place it on her shoulder. Eyes moved to rest on Lucia. He nodddd toward her as he spoke"your not alone."

A soft smile. Lucia Fox, Henry hardly knew her. The girl was the dorm mate and best friend to Alexa Mackenzie. Alexa... someone he cared for deeply... the teen thought he owed it to her, to Alexa to be there for Lucia. To support her and help her. To defend her and offer a shoulder. He owe it to her... to his late girlfriend. For thirteen he seemed mature for his age or at least to clasp the concept of death maybe because this isn't the first time be dealt with it.

The teen held his hand to her shoulder. Eyes on her, a soft smile as he spoke"you will never be alone, I promise you."
