History of Magic. More like, the history of Aurora and Nicholas. That would be a better class to be in especially when her brain is currently in that state of mind. She couldn’t even bother to acknowledge the professor’s presence nor what he was talking about. Every word came into her right ear then left from the left. The most important thing to her at that moment was the little journal that was supposed to be for taking notes in class. Technically, she did note taking activity, though unrelated to what was being discussed in that ancient room. The whole page was dedicated to the boy, with doodles of his cartoonish face and hearts all over it. It was a bit hard to tell that it was Nicholas McCowan, the Gryffindor broom racing captain considering the drawing was a little wonky here and there, there was no denying that whoever saw it could see her obsession for the mysterious boy in every stroke of the pen with a big pink pom pom on top.
Then she flipped the page over and began to draw a creature. A cat looking creature, but with wings and a horn. Lucifur was her muse. Not the devil, but the white furball that took over her bed. People said she spoiled her little devil a little too much, but what is the worst that could happen? Cats are supposed to be treated as kings whilst we, the humans, are merely peasants.
As Aurora drew the cat all over the page, she then nudged the girl who was sitting beside her. A gryffindor, judging from her attire, with really nice raven hair. Maybe she was feeling as bored as the Ravenclaw was, and starting a little conversation would be a good idea. Perhaps this would be the start of a little friendship. “It’s a unicat.”

The raven-haired Lioness had always prided on her impeccable academic grades, but that did not necessarily mean Regina enjoyed being in all of her classes.
Case in point - the way she listened mindlessly to Professor Zahid drone on about the lesson and writing notes into her parchment robotically, without actually registering all of the words he said. One must wonder how Regina could keep her grades up despite never truly paying attention in History of Magic, but perhaps it was just because of the countless history books she'd had to read as a child with the Miller tutor. Still, Regina had an image to uphold solely to get her controlling parents off her back, and she'd play the part of the attentive student when needed.
However, her monotonous focus would be disrupted for the first time in class it seemed. The Ravenclaw girl who was sitting next to her suddenly gave her a light nudge, prompting Regina's orchid purple eyes to glance over almost lazily with an eyebrow lifted. She looked down at the whimsical doodle of a cat portrayed rather...devilishly after the other girl's words, then shifted her gaze back onto her classmate with a bored expression.
"Cute," The Gryffindor drawled. "But I do not remember asking."
Despite her apathy, Regina was almost glad to have the distraction. She frankly preferred this over having to listen to uninteresting lecture about some historical magical creatures or events which she'd already known more or less from having a father who was a Ministry politician. She stared at the Ravenclaw's face to make out her features as something ticked at the back of her mind. Her classmate looked familiar somehow, even though they had never properly talked until now. Regina swore she'd seen her face more than once in the corridors or the grounds with-
"You are...that broom racer's girlfriend, are you not?"

It seemed like the unicat gained one fan in a short amount of time, though she could sense the unenthusiastic tone lingered in the air but at least the other girl thought that her drawing was cute. “I know, just thought maybe you should know about my unicat” Aurora pulled back her note and continued to draw more mythical cat creatures on the paper. Until the same girl mentioned something about a certain broom racer.
“Hmm?” She turned her head towards the other girl in surprise. It was one of the occasions where her cheeks grew red when Nicholas was not in sight. Any slight mention of him could do the trick although the gryffindor did not even refer to his name. The relationship was never a secret, considering how loud Aurora could be to express her adoration for the boy, the whole world ought to know by now. The raven haired girl would hear it through the grapevines since rumours seemed to go around faster than the speed of light. But it would be awesome to know if Nicholas were the one who proudly told people about it. And that by itself already made her giddy. “Y-yeah! Hahah!” She would laugh a little too loudly.
“So we’ve been together for two months now, time flies. So we first met at the quidditch scrimmage a year ago, he was the beater on his team and I was the seeker, then, he tried to do something to my broom which was totally a cheat move, then he tried to knock me off of my broom! Can you believe it? He did though, but after I caught the snitch which brought the victory to my team. But at that time I didn’t think about him that much, you know? Until the summer camp-” If the gryffindor would be kind enough to let her go on and on about her new boyfriend, Aurora would spill every admiration she had for him. How cute Nicholas was, how his hair fell into places like dominoes, how was it possible to grow up that beautiful.
Her eyes sparkled in every word she spoke as if she were describing a magical land full of rainbow unicorns, or in this case, unicats. From how their first fight among the slugs happened to the point where she couldn’t get him out of her mind. Days turned to months, then it was almost a year of cat and mouse. A letter of apology was all it took to get their probably sweaty hands intertwined and to the fall ball they went. It wasn’t all, that was not where the story ended. Long story short, they were in this tea party where they both put a setback in their blossoming relationship. Months full of tears for Aurora, then suddenly happiness emerged when she did not expect it to come. The blossom ball. April 2nd, the day where her boy problem came to an end. For now.
