Regina had been content with observing Faye finish the flower centerpiece and enjoy being in her crush's presence as Kim seemed to be conversing with the Slytherin boy she'd spotted earlier. However, it seemed that a peaceful gathering was an extremely foreign concept in a school like Hogwarts because all of a sudden, her observant eyes had caught the projectile of the rainbow missile just a second too late - no doubt another one of the more boisterous students' mischievous pranks. Regina only had a second to reel back from shock as Kim suddenly grabbed ahold of her upper arm and pulled her away from the dangerous area, causing her to flinch harshly and fall against his taller form as a loud, ear-splitting BANG! resonated across the entire Great Hall.

Even though she was practically hiding in Kim's arms, the Gryffindor still couldn't escape a few of the glittery rainbow streamers and paint from falling onto her back, some even getting caught in her long raven curls. It didn't take her long to lift her head off of his shoulder to witness the chaos that was the Hufflepuff table and disgust paired with indignity pooled around her stomach as she stepped away from Kim immediately. She didn't want to have to explain to him why she'd grown averse to physical contact since they last saw each other as children, but Regina hoped he wouldn't take too much offense to it.

"Of course some imbecile would not be able to curb their insufferable urge to cause mischief- YOU THERE!"

The girl had spotted the perpetrator of the disastrous turn of events it seemed, as her orchid eyes shifted to where her childhood friend was being crept on by another Gryffindor boy. By instinct, Regina's aspen wand slid from under her sleeve and into her palm - the tip crackling with sparks of magic as she lifted it with a firm 'Wingardium Leviosa!' in the prankster's direction.

The perpetrator levitated off the ground immediately as a consequence, thus saving Kim from whatever devious plan the other boy had tried to attempt on her friend. Her usually beautiful features were sour and the purple in her eyes had gone poisonous as she gave the stranger a heated glare.

"What do you think you are doing?" Regina seethed in all of her rainbow-covered glory. "How utterly childish!"

Callista jumped when she heard a voice behind her, startled out of her concentration. The decorations she had been levitating fell motionless to the floor, returning to their inanimate state in a spiraling descent of fluttering multicoloured fabric and gossamer streamers.

"Hey there Callista, do you want some help?"

Whatever carefully crafted responses she had written in preparation for such a scenario flew out of her mind with the blink of an eye, leaving a patch of vacancy in which she groped around for an appropriate answer. "H-hi Professor Horne," she finally stuttered out. "Um-" Answer the question! "D-do you think you could help me glue some of these? I don't think I know that spell yet..."

In all honesty, helping put up the decorations had been as much a distraction from the crowd as a way to make her feel helpful. Callista still felt uncomfortable partaking in an event like this, and if this gave her some kind of excuse to be here, then she would take it. It doesn't make much rational sense, but it made sense to her on an intuitive and not wholly conscious level.

Callista turned back to the adornments, giving a flick of her wand and a muttered incantation to give rise to them once again. They began their airborne dance to a music only they could hear, drifting into place like marionettes tied onto invisible strings and conducted by a puppeteer with an eye for perfection.

Sachi, settled by Callista's feet, was less demure than her owner. She unfurled and approached the professor, meowing inquisitively as if to ask what this lady has to do with her precious human. Fanning her wide, robin egg blue eyes, the Silver Siberian invoked a doe-like appearance, as innocent as Callista herself.

As she worked, Callista snuck glances at the astronomy professor, meticulously examining her. She seemed nice, like one of those people who were so bubbly and outgoing you just couldn't help getting caught up in their tidal wave. But Callista wasn't the same naive girl she had been, and she knew that the image one projected was not always reflective of who they truly were. One could easily get lost in a charming stream that, before you knew it, turned into a tempestuous flood and spun you in circles until you lost sight of yourself.

And yet, there was something about Professor Horne that set the second year at ease.

Standing beside her was like basking in warm morning sunshine, as if she was a bright star that you couldn't take your eyes off of. Getting her attention like this and being singled out from the many other students roaming around... it was flattering. For all Callista knew, the professor had objectively selected from the group a random student to approach, but still, being in such close proximity with an authority figure like her was stunning. She was caught between reverence and awkwardness, cursing her inability to adopt elegance in times like this.

Through her conflict, Callista managed to retain a firm grasp on her levitation; after all, she hadn't trained for hours every week for nothing. At the very least, she was confident that she wouldn't embarrass herself through her magical ineptitude. That was one thing that she just couldn't let herself mess up.

TLDR; Callista gets mildly jump-scared by Farron, loses control of her levitation, and stutters out a greeting in classic Calli fashion. She asks if Farron could help her with gluing the decorations. Various random metaphors and similes follow. I even snuck some personification in there! Calli examines Farron, perhaps attempting to judge whether she can be trusted, but eventually, her aura of candor sets Calli at ease. She goes back to levitating her decorations, and being the perfectionist she is, tries to get every one into the perfect place. I am proud to say that my girl is performing very consistent spellwork! Oh and Sachi is meowing at Farron inquisitively and being the good guardian kitty she is.

Please owl or DM me if you would like to interact with me, thank you! Feel free to mention me if you would like though!

While getting her food a Griffindor girl, @ Marina Oriel came over and asked if she could join. Bailey smiled and said “Sure! My name is Bailey. Bailey Glade! How are you today?”
As she and her friends chatted, Bailey enjoyed the conversation. As the day dragged on and the errand wrapped up, Bailey said her goodbyes before leaving the Great Hall. Heading back to her dorm to change, Bailey had a poster about non binary, from Pax, and a few other things that she had made or gathered.
Dumping them on her trunk, Bailey flopped down into her bed. She had had an amazing afternoon, but now was exhausted.
Slipping off her dress and into some pajamas, Bailey grabbed a book and sat by the window to read. Gathering her thoughts, Bailey smiled.
two new friends… I wonder if they consider me a friend as well? I mean, both Leon and Mariana were super nice. Hopefully they consider me a friend… it’s nice to have friends. Especially such great ones. And I am glad the Errand went so well. It was great to be able to show support and plus the food and crafts were amazing. The staff, especially Professor @ Farron Horne did an amazing job. Maybe I could send them an owl or something with some cookies to show my appreciation …

It had been a harmless prank.

A very colorful one. But Kim had reacted instinctively, trying to protect Regina from anything bad coming her way.

After all, he didn't want her to get hurt while he was around. When something unexpected happened, you never knew what the results would be. Best react first and apologize if you had to later. Rather than not act and regret it afterward. As Regina fell into his arms and against his chest, Kim wrapped an arm around her waist, to prevent her from falling onto the floor. And used the other arm to curl around her head and shoulders, protecting her upper body too. The shower of rainbow glue, glitter, streamers and paint cascaded down onto them, most of it hitting Kim.

Since a lot of the materials didn't weigh much, it didn't hurt getting hit by them. Still, it wasn't something that he would have wanted to have happen to him. Thankfully, Regina was fine. After all, he'd been able to block the majority of the mess that had come down on them. But despite this, the girl had still gotten hit by a few bits of streamers and some drops of paint. However, she'd missed out on the glue and glitter, well most of it anyway. On the other hand, Kim's clothes were a variety of rainbow colors right now, courtesy of the prankster's little trick on them.

Were it not for the glue, Kim might not have minded too much.

But glue was really hard to get out, so that was a bit of a pain. Then again, it had come from a fellow prankster.

Kim made a mental note to include things like this prank in his repertoire. Mostly showcasing this new look from the back, his front and Regina had remained relatively unscathed for the most part. Although, a lot of Kim's hair was also streaked with the glitter, glue and paint. It would probably take awhile for him to wash it all out later. Unless of course, he cast the cleaning spell on himself but at the same time... Kim only wanted to wash out the glue, not the rest. And the cleaning spell tended to fix everything, as that was the way it was set up for wizarding folk. Maybe not.

Perhaps he'd just wait for awhile.

Take a look at himself and see what he looked like before he tried to remove it all.

As Regina got her bearing back and stepped away from him, Kim released her waist and let her go. For once, he hadn't become flustered upon someone getting so close to him. Perhaps this was because of all the incidents that had occurred between him and Hunter. Not to mention him and Precious. And of course there were a few instances with Sophia too. Maybe he was building up a little bit of immunity, which would be nice if it was true. Because he'd been facing away from the prankster at the time, Kim didn't notice him yet. But Regina did and she reacted very quickly.

He glanced back over his shoulder as Regina raised her voice and pointed her wand at the culprit. She was able to successfully cast a spell and levitate the boy into the air before them. Kim gazed up at the person responsible for this prank. Why did he look vaguely familiar? Ah, right. He'd been at the ball before. If he remembered correctly, he'd had a twin too. But he couldn't remember the name. Eventually, it would come to him. Kim stood off to the side a little, just in case the boy fell down later on. He didn't want to be under him when that happened. A sigh escaped.

The blond reached up to tuck a strand of hair behind an ear.

Only to realize it hadn't been his hair but part of a streamer that was still on his head and heaved another sigh.

Avery almost missed the slightly startled look on June's face when Avery said her name, and he very well would've missed it if he hadn't just been watching her pluck glitter out of her eye a second before. Was she surprised that he knew her name? Avery didn't assume it would be that out-of-the-blue, but perhaps he was simply more familiar with people's names because he easily chatted with a lot of people. So, even if he hadn't spoken with everyone directly, he at least knew the people who mentioned them. Socializing and chatting was his second job.

And he remembered exactly what Maggie had said about June Selwyn. When he asked Mags about the person she was hanging out with, she had said something along the lines of: "She’s like Liana, I swear to god. Liana but different. I dunno. Hey, pass me another pumpkin pasty, would you?"* And Avery had chuckled lightly in amusement at her response before helpfully passing his friend a pumpkin pasty. So, if this girl was a bit like Liana, what was she like? he had wondered... Perhaps intelligent, like his red-haired friend who had the best grades in their year. And with that intelligence, perhaps a bit of pride. Perhaps she was fiery and determined, with a bold and competitive streak. However, perhaps there was also a softer side -- one that did not show as easily. One of generosity and fierce loyalty when a person was blessed to be in her inner circle.

When their group of friends had heard the news of Liana's transfer to Durmstrang, they were heart-broken. So, he was whole-heartedly glad that Mags had found a good friend during this time in June Selwyn. He was grateful to June in ways beyond her help in picking up a few papers, whether June knew it or not.

"...Avery," he responded briefly with a friendly grin, helping the girl finish her sentence as she seemed to struggle to grasp his name. He wondered if he should continue with the usual introduction that firsties often did: Avery Chen, first-year, Slytherin, quidditch player, blah blah blah but he decided to keep it low-key, as if he hadn't even noticed that June didn't know his name until the last month of the school year.

They were interrupted by a familiar orange cat rubbing against their legs. "Ah, Loki! What are you doing here?" he asked, bending down to scratch his roommate's pet under the chin. "Henry must be here." He glanced around quickly before catching sight of the older boy, and gave him a quick wave. "He's my roommate's cat and our majesty," he explained to June, because that explained everything.

He sat down next to the girl, and listened as she explained the folds. Avery followed along, seeing as he was more of a doer than a watcher with his low attention span. His fingers fumbled along as hers moved deftly in practiced movements, but he ended up with one part of a flower nevertheless, glad he was making some contribution to the many Pride Month flowers.

"Viola case?" he asked absent-mindedly as he moved on to the next section of his flower. "Oh, you mean my violin case. The case is really big, though, so it might've looked like a viola. And it only sounds good when I've been practicing. Otherwise, it sounds horrible," he smirked, thinking about his butchered pieces after skipping a couple days. "Nah, you might be lucky you don't have to play this for an hour or two every day. I don't always like it. Some days, I wish my parents never made me start," he admitted, speaking freely. He paused for a moment, feeling a bit guilty for speaking so badly about his instrument, as if it had ears. He had spent many hours of his life clutching this violin, which had been with him through blood, sweat, and tears. "But other days," he continued slowly, like he was admitting a bigger secret, "when you're really feeling the music, the strings and the notes just come to life with your emotions." He shrugged, as if embarrassed he was revealing so much about his life. "It's complicated." And it really was. Not everybody understood how he hated the violin even though it was like a piece of himself. People usually just assumed he loved the violin 100% if he practiced so often, and many fellow musicians here would look at him in confusion when he said it mostly just stressed him out. "Do you play any instruments?" he asked June.

He moved on to folding a flower in another color, and was eager to learn a bit more about June. "So, it seems that the year is already coming to an end, huh?" he mused. Time passed by so quickly. He still remembered when he was a confused first-year in September, knowing hardly anybody, and nothing about the inner workings of the school itself. "How's the school year been for you so far? How do you feel about being second-years in like a month?"

Dexter woke up excited. He knew what was going to be happening in the Great Hall today, and he decided he'd help participate. After all he was bisexual. It'd be nice to decorate your pride month. He had always supported everybody in the lgbtq community and he always would. He was also a part of the lgbtq community. After putting on a black hoodie and some black robe's and black sweatpants even though it was in the summer, here are a couple of books, did some homework, and then made his way to the Great Hall. Dexter hadn't always been a good artist, as he had very weak control with his hands, but this would be fun. He walked inside the Great Hall, and saw lots of materials on the Hufflepuff table. It first a kurd to Dexter he could pull pranks, but that thought immediately once I went away. He was here to decorate for pride month, he was not going to cause any chaos like he normally did. He was to be good today. He looked over at the table and saw a lot of materials. He could do a few activities involving flowers, but he decided to take the posters and hang them up on the walls. With some materials, he made some pride flags of his own. You look over them when they were done. " not too bad," he said to himself when they were done. He then grabbed them ready to hang them up. He sent them back down. He decided he could communicate or socialize with someone. He looked around, and stopped Dead when he saw somebody that he knew. It was barely Glade, he had pranked her by sneaking up behind her and dumping a bucket full of water on top of her. He walked over towards her. He leaned against the table and stood there for a while, before saying, "Hello Miss Bailey. Fancy seeing you here on this fine afternoon." He grinned at his corny formal way of talking.

As she was leaving her friends to head back to her dorm, someone stopped her. He called her name, Miss Bailey, and Bailey instantly knew who it was.
Turning slowly to face him, she smirked and said “Yes- fancy meeting you here. I assume you are here for the errand?”
She put an in phases on assume, just to be sarcastic. Dexter was the only person at Hogwarts that she did not get along with. He would definitely be her friend had he not dumped a bucket of ice cold lake water in her head, and not apologized for it.
Bailey was not a person who usually held grudges, and Dex was the exception.
She was hopeful that they might get to restart, but it would require Dexter to do something like apologize.
Sighing, Bailey smiled slightly sadly at Dexter and said “You know, if you would just apologize for dumping the water on me we could be friends. I am sure that would be more pleasant for all of us. We can both let go of our grudges, and go on in peace.”
Bailey waited hopeful that Dex would accept her proposition, but doubtful that he would.

After she and Dex would finish taking, Bailey would proceed back to her dorm, to read some before going to bed.

Dexter grin, waiting for a response. Then he got one. She agreed that it was fancy meaning Dexter there. She asked if he was there for the errand. Which he was. He said, " Yes, I am." Dexter remembered all about the moment when he had prank Bailey. He was ditching his homework, as always even though his teachers told him to do it, grab the bucket, scoop some water inside of it, and put it on Bailey. Bailey was very upset, as she use her bo staff to tackle him to the floor. At that moment Dexter's knife flew out of his pocket. Dexter knew well that knifes were not allowed in Hogwarts. So did Bailey, apparently, because she met Dexter walk to his head of house office to tell that head of house that he had a knife an illegal knife in his pocket. so they had to explain everything. Now here they were again, talking as if nothing had happened at all. At least Dexter was, because her next words telling him that if he apologized, they could start over, lose their garages, and possibly be friends. Dexter stared at her for a while. Apologize was not in his dictionary. But Dexter decided why not? It would be one of the many few times he apologized. So Dexter said, " right. I'm sorry for pranking you and everything, and I hope we can start again as friends. what do you say?" He said, wondering what she'd say.

Even though Marius Jinhao Brown was not deeply familiar with the Pride community, he steadfastly considered himself an ally. Sure he might not have a sufficient understanding about various gender identities, but when he heard about someone "coming out" and embracing their romantic orientation or their gender, somehow he felt proud and happy for said person, even if he did not personally know them.

Still, when he heard about Professor's Horne invitation for all Hogwarts students to decorate the Great Hall together in honour of June, the Pride Month, he felt both excited and nervous at the same time. Excited to actively take part in this kind of activity for the very first time, but also nervous as he did not want to hurt someone by accident due to his lack of sufficient knowledge regarding the subject.

When it was time for him to get ready, the Hufflepuff was sure about the attire he would put on: ordinary brown leather shoes; unassuming trousers in a darker shade of brown; and an orangey-pink, flowery button-down any traditional homophobic man would wrinkle their nose on - complete with a matching tie. The first year proudly stepped out of the Hufflepuff Common Room in said clothing.

Inside, he honestly did not know what to expect when he would step into the Great Hall. Would people laugh at his chosen clothes and consider it comedic instead of giving a vibe of an ally? Or would they tell him to change because he had no rainbow apparel? He was also not good at art, and this activity was about creating decoration for the school; would a pupil (or more) mock his works?

However, for the Chinese-English boy, all of these concerns were nothing compared to the one "bomb" that made him nervous most of all. And his biggest fear was if anyone would boo at his poster (he had had in mind what to make), throw tomatoes at it, and call him (or worse, the organisation affiliated with him) a liar or a fake.

But, his mind reassured of the decision he had made at first place, if you don't take this risk, you're throwing away a chance to make a difference. And every little step counts.

He nodded. "All right," inwardly he spoke in reply to the inner voice, "I'll do it. It's worth to try. Besides, if anyone makes fun of me because of the good thing I do, that means they're the fools, and Professor Horne will back up for me. I'm sure of this."

Realising that now he was already standing in front of the Great Hall, Marius Brown took a deep breath and entered. Truth be told, he would not have anticipated the view that now lay bare in front of his brown eyes, free to witness and inspect. The Great Hall was one messy chaos. Standing and staring at the entrance, after minutes of observation, the Hufflepuff concluded that someone must have either pulled a prank which angered a fellow pupil or started a fight on purpose.

Shrugging, Marius grabbed two poster papers, a calligraphy pen, a palette, some paint brushes, and a couple of watercolour tubes; and sat all by himself in a corner. He just wanted to have a peaceful time when participating in this activity and thus refused to take any part in the commotion.

The boy started to work on his first project. For this poster, he would need paints of many colours and a calligraphy pen. Even though he was no illustrator, Marius gave his best to carefully produce a picture of a white dove with rainbow-coloured outline. Afterward, using both grey watercolour and the calligraphy pen, the Hufflepuff wrote Catholic for Equality in the middle of the poster.

This was his secret big project, the one that had made him terribly nervous. The first year knew very well that some people stereotyped Christians as homophobic and transphobic, but today Marius was determined to show such people that they were not always right. He wanted to prove that everyone could be friends and allies for the Pride Community, and that a true Christian accept his or her fellow neighbours no matter what their romantic orientation and gender identity was.

Image posted by the member

His second poster was not easier to create, but simpler in essential. It pictured a peaceful Pride parade, with a number of people plus an anthropomorphic grizzly bear happily waving a rainbow flag. Neither the characters nor the scene was Marius' original creation, but rather redrawn by memory from a television film he loved very much. In his poster, the whole outline was made with a calligraphy pen on top of pencil sketch, and then the black-and-white result was coloured using watercolour paints.

He just loved watercolour.

As he handed both posters to hang on the wall of the Great Hall, Marius Brown was sure they were not the most artistically-pleasant works to behold. However, he was proud of his creations no matter what.

Every little step helped.

He was glad he decided against following his initial nervousness, the fear that lassoed him when he was making his way to the Great Hall an hour or two ago.

───── A line settled on her mouth, her eyebrows scrunched up as she read the instructions. Not that she couldn't read them, she got the general idea (some of those longer words were foreign to her), but she had no idea what she was actually doing. She'd spent the entire time watching the other two making theirs and fumbling over simple instructions. By the end of it, she'd made a slightly limp flower. Lovely.

"Uh, I don't know. No, actually, I do know, but I don't. I don't, um, understand. Yes, that's it! I don't understand what I'm doing. Am I just following these instructions or?" Faye gave a weak awkward laugh, although it dyed away once she looked back at Regina. "Woah. Your thingy looks nice! Really nice. Yes. Hm." The self deprecating laughter returned.

Faye was quite happy until she saw a flash of rainbow. Wow, somebody was really in the 'Pride' spirit, then? Her investigative nature quickly dissipated once she caught flashes of people ducking, replaced with horror. She flicked her head towards Regina, who was being pulled away to safety by Kim. A twinge of jealousy went over her face for a split second. Was she left out? Again? This was what always happened. In an act of spite, she darted away from the splash zone in the exact opposite direction of the others, hands clasped over her ears and her back hunched over like some sort of protective turtle.

Deafening noise interrupted across the room, although it felt to her like most of it was heading straight for her. Faye couldn't help but yell, definitely cursing some type of god or saint, desperately tried not to tear up at the overloaded state of affairs, as to not ruin the event even more. She was here for Regina (and Kim, of course), and she didn't want to seem weak. Streamers and glitter launched into her hair and over some of her robe, glimmering streaks trailing down her curls, definitely highlighting the blonde roots that she'd forgotten to dye again.

She looked up, sniffling. The hall was in a state of disarray. The Ravenclaw immediately turned to where she'd seen Kim take Regina, stepping over gingerly, her hands still clasped around her ears, although they were slowly but surely getting looser. Her glassy eyes looked at Kim, silently asking for an explanation, before turning to Regina, who was levitating the culprit.

"Do you think that's really necessary, Reg?" Faye almost whispered, moving closer to her. Her hands had snaked down to cup her neck, her eyes wide with shock.
