2022, Stage 3 Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 5

Suffering from the severe headache, Lindsey felt herself no longer able to stand to the very last - even though there were just a few seconds left. The curse was almost unendurable now, making her unable to focus and cast. Surprisingly it faded after the severest attack, when Lucia performed a most extraordinary Wind Jinx. “That’s so impressive.” she commented, while gripping her wand and getting ready once again.

While Sylvie may have perhaps agreed with her teammate... She certainly did not feel the best. She felt like booty garbage actually. Felt like she had been pelted with a bunch of boulders. She looked at her partner and gave her a tilted thumbs up... At least she was being encouraging.

A WIN FOR GRYFFINDOR

The seconds ticked down, all interested eyes glued to the four duellists to see how this would end. Sylvie, who had emerged as the player with the most brute force today, would be the one to opt for the classic Flipendo. It was direct and effective, a chance to pack one last punch and possibly knock out an opponent in the last moments--it was hard to tell how much Lucia had left. Lucia, at the very least, had enough left to power her quick side-step, the only offensive spell of this volley dissipating harmlessly behind her.

Elsa once again patched up Sylvie's aches, not taking any risks. Bridget knew she had pretty good aim, but that would not be the strength she leveraged today, emerging instead as a competent healer. It was doubtful if Sylvie would have lasted without her help. Interestingly, the Hufflepuffs would do the same, wands turned to restore their strength in the last moments. This was close, so it made sense to do whatever they could to look strong.

As the glow of healing faded, Bridget's clock would strike the end of the match. "That's time!" she called, before they could go to start another cast. She hopped up onto the raised platform once the wands were lowered, quick notes she'd taken throughout the duel in hand. This moment was uncertain, and her serious look, deep in concentration, likely did nothing for any nerves the duellists had.

This was a fairly close one. All four duellists still stood, all looked like they could stand to fight a while longer. Both sides had landed solid hits, had their share of successes. It was close, but the choice was not a coin flip. She had to give it to Gryffindor; Elsa was untouched, looking good as new, and Sylvie had dealt serious damage where she'd hit. And so she announced "Gryffindor wins!" Her expression brightened to a smile, congratulatory for the lions and a silent you'll get it next time for the badgers. "You all fought well. Make sure you see a medic and have a good rest of your day." Lindsey and Lucia, in particular, she would watch to ensure they got those cuts looked at. When had Sylvie's spells become so sharp?
