Awesome, some of the players get very competitive with their fancy looking coding.

Solomon Lear wrote: 28 Feb 2022, 15:25 As gender fluid you can change your gender to male or female as often as you want.

The non binary also represents.

Jargon changes in regards to gender and there were 63 genders in 2000, according to quora there are 112. That is a lot to code and a lot to go through. More than that, terms will be missed leaving players out and unrepresented if we go too specific. Because the binary structure (we had until a few months ago) did legitimately alienate those that were neither we added the umbrella term non binary as an attempt to represent this other group of users.

These options are hard coded. They are also tied with him/her/they pronouns in the maps, the they also added in an attempt to have some inclusiveness. Again there are a lot of pronouns, we want to at least be close but we cannot reasonably be perfect. Much like gender, pronouns have also drastically expanded over the years. Being asexual and having a preference for the ze pronouns for instance is not something we can accomplish with how the site is coded.

We want to be supportive but if we get too specific we actually would exclude some groups of people. We are committed to allowing you to express yourself however. There is an lgbtq+ (actually technically this group of letters has expanded to lgbtqia+ for example in a relatively short time) club where players talk, there are members who chat in general chats, on our discord etc about their experience as a member of that community as an umbrella. You are free to personally shine a light on your experiences. You can also mention more specifically in character, in your encyclopedia or even your signature pronouns, gender, sexuality, etc. We just have some technical limits and navigation limitations as we try to work with a large population.
forgot about this for a bit, but i’ll try to address it again

i do understand the code restrictions, however i suggest it gets renamed to “other” to make sure it encompasses everyone. while non-binary is an umbrella term, it doesn’t necessarily include everyone, such as intersex people (who can choose to identify as non-binary if they wish). identifying as non-binary ≠ trans

as for neopronouns (since i assume you mean agender), i do understand that there are some site restrictions, which is why i still think using the term “other” is better than non-binary, since they/them pronouns are used universally

however, it’s completely fine if you chose to keep non-binary as an umbrella term. most of this is my personal preference on which terms i like more than others, and not everyone may agree with me

to clarify, this entire post is /nm. i’m incredibly thankful staff is trying their best to help include everyone

i’m gonna pop

Hey guys!

I don't know if this has already been suggested before, but I was wondering if maybe in the future there could be a way to filter through tags? I'd love to be able to just search up RPs that are tagged "open" so that I know I can participate. It could be quite useful for new members looking to join a thread, since most of them are tagged private right now. I have no idea how hard this would be to do, I'm guessing the answer is probably "very", if that isn't an option already, but just wanted to put it out there anyway!

Thank you guys for all of the work you've put into the website! It looks absolutely amazing and it's great fun.

That can be done using our very own search function, actually!

If you click on the small magnifying glass in the bottom right corner of the desktop site, you'll find the option to search topics.

Change the Search Options to the following:
- search in topic titles only
- show results as topics
Then enter "*open*" into the search box at the top, and it should give you what you're looking for!
Should look like this!

Suggestion: allow users to add a link to their ency in the user control panel and have that link show up under their avatar. So it would become:

<avatar image>
<name>
<money>
<ency link>

I find myself looking around for people's encys a lot. Some have a link in their signature, but for most I have to search through their topics to find it. Maybe there is already a faster way that I'm not aware of, but nevertheless it would be nice to have a standard place for people to link their ency.

to see people's ency, all you have to do is to click on their profile (their picture that has their name, year, position and stuff on the left side of their post), and it'll get you here

under your picture for example, there's a heart (meaning you can add them in your friend list to make it easier for you to stalk their profile or something), a message thing (for you to owl them directly), and a id card which will lead you to their ency

Ah, I'd missed the ID card icon. Thanks!

Could still be nice to have that ID card link underneath the money listing so you can instantly access it from anywhere.

First some love to give: The website is really awesome! Thank you Zach Winslow for creating such a great experience. So many details, different color schemes for different rooms, items, the owls and rememberall. It's got a very great atmosphere!

Second, I want to suggest something for the beans:
For now, we either need to click through the rooms or look up the location in the bean ping list. It is a nice gimmick to collect beans and I also understand it's just a small game.
However, it's just really easy to find the beans but at the same time quite dull to click through room after room and looking at the thread where people post locations is even easier.
My suggestion to give the bean collection a bit more spice: Providing a riddle for where to find the next one.
Some elaboration:
In the entrance hall, there could be a field for 'bean hunt', which features the most recent riddle. For the riddles there could be even some variation, some would be easier, some difficult, some would describe the room directly or only the floor or area (which then would include a bit of clicking as well). The riddle would be totally optional and the beans could be found as usual by clicking through everything but it also give a new dimension and make finding the beans more interesting.
How it might be implemented technically: Since the bean location is the same for everyone, I suppose the code randomly chooses a room. The riddle could then be connected to that room and displayed in the entrance hall. If there are enough ideas for each room, the riddle could even be chosen randomly between several for the specific room.
