Surprise! PV Bailey's Surprise Birthday Party

Emily got up out of bed and she looked at the clock. She saw that it was 10. She had an hour left. She walked to her closet and she looked for something to wear. After she choose her outfit, she put it on. Emily is wearing a lavender party dress with silver heels, a silver and violet locket and earrings. She looked at herself in the mirror and she smiled at herself.

She looked back at the clock and saw that it was 10:20. She decided to leave her dorm with her present in hand as well as some cookies and a box of pocky. Emily was bringing the chocolate chip cookies to the part but she wanted to eat the pocky while she was walking.

Emily finished off the box of pocky so she threw it away inside of the trash bin then she continued walking to where the party will be.

Once Emily arrived she saw a table with food on it so she put the plate of cookies onto the table then she put her present inside of the black trunk that she saw. Then she looked around and she gasped. She then walked over to Kim and said,

"Hey, Kim! This place looks awesome! I feel bad, cause you did most of this all by yourself. Anyway, I brought some chocolate cookies."

Sophia approached the Great Lake, keeping an eager eye out for Kim and any other party-goers or birthday well-wishers. It didn't take much effort to find them, however, as Kim had been about as inconspicuous as a mosquito in the summertime with his decorations. They were beautiful, though, she had to admit.

Sophia was wearing a white t-shirt that said 'Jesus is my Rock, that's just how I Roll' in big, colorful letters and a comfortable pink skirt that reached just past her knees, with matching socks. In her arms were two boxes, both wrapped carefully with floral-pattern wrapping paper. She was quite proud of how well they were wrapped, as normally, she'd have just wound up covering herself, and the wrapping paper, in massive amounts of tape.

Inside the smaller box was a small snow globe, roughly twice as large as a tennis ball. Inside the snow globe was a beautiful scene of a small castle atop a snowy hill. If someone gave the snow globe a light shake, they'd find that it offered a flurry of glittery blue, pink, and silver snow. Sophia was very fond of it, and she hoped that Bailey would like it too.

Inside the slightly larger box was a gift from Sophia's grandmother. A hand-stitched blanket and a matching pillow, both made with matching blue fleece. Both had Bailey's name stitched upon them in shiny silver thread, and Sophia had been pretty impressed with the craftsmanship. She'd known her grandma loved making things like this, but the older woman had outdone herself this time. The material was very, very soft, and it was light, too.

Sophia finally reached the party area and, since her hands were full, nodded to Kim and the other girl there.

"Hey, Kim. Hey, person," she greeted them as she gently placed the items into the trunk. She turned to the other girl. "I'm Sophia."

Then she made her way to her rightful place, at Kim's side. There weren't a lot of people here yet, but Kim was certainly still her 'safety blanket.'

"It looks amazing, Kim," she gushed with a smile, "I feel so out of place. It's beautiful."

Quinn got up today was going to be Bailey's surprise birthday party. She needed to wrap up Bailey's gift. Which was a book, one of Quinn's favorites. Called 'The princess bride' Her parents had sent her another copy of it. Quinn loved the story and the plot. It had action and fencing, Quinn though that Bailey might like it.

She wrapped it in some gold glitter wrapping paper. With a gold bow. She even made a card. The card was simple, it was more of a sheet of paper that said 'happy Birthday Bailey!!' with a small kind message.

The party was taking place at the great lake. It was more then easy to find. Her clothing was her robes as she found them comfortable. When she got there she saw some people not that many people. She wondered how many she would know. As she put Bailey's gift into a trunk she said to everyone there "Hey everyone! Kim these decorations look awesome!" it wasn't a lie. They where beautiful.

She sat on the ground as she didn't feel like chairs just yet. She looked around waiting for the other guests to arrive. It was a nice day.

It was a a beautiful day outside. Too beautiful of a day. Simon exited the Castle and immediately threw on his sunglasses and the hood to his sweatshirt. It was days like this that surely would raise a red flag to others about the nature of his attire - it was nearing Summer and in Summer, normal people didn't wear sweatshirts, let alone sweatshirts with the hood up.

Knowing he always had the option of ignoring anyone that might ask or give an odd look or use the alternative of his former diagnosis of xeroderma pigmentosum, Simon continued along the small path, scattered with the occassional trees, towards his destination of the Great Lake.

When he'd get there, he'd see an area that was laid out quite nicely by one of Bailey's friends and he smiled at Emily, the other, and Kim as he approached. "Greetings fellow Bailey fans," he said as he walked closer and greeted everyone with a peace sign and a smile. He knew Bailey wouldn't be there yet as the invitation implied it was a Surprise Party.

He placed his gifts down at the designated area for them; a Ravenclaw journal where Bailey could write down all those crazy ideas that Ravenclaws thought about


and a navy quill to match.



"Anything I can help with?"

The first guest had arrived.

Emily Flower. Kim wasn't too familiar with her but he knew her from the Prank Club.

He also wouldn't be surprised if she joined a lot of the other clubs that he was in too. She seemed like a pretty nice girl and getting to know her better was something he was interested in doing at some point. "Yo." Kim said raising a hand into the air as Emily greeted him. "Thanks, yeah I wasn't entirely sure what to do, so I just put together a few things that I'd seen inside my mind and this was the result." He said with a shrug.

Kim hadn't really ever done a surprise birthday before. This would be his first time planning one. Hopefully, it would go well and everyone would show up for the event. "I'm sure they're delicious. Thank you!" He told Emily and his lips twitched into what could have been a smile. Maybe. Kim wasn't really the best at smiling, although he did his best to try and make it look genuine. It was only when he wasn't trying to smile, that he was able to smile.

Ironic.

The next to arrive was Sophia and Kim smiled as she approached him with her gift.

"You look good, Sophia." He told her as she came to stand by his side. Quinn came next and Kim nodded as she said the decorations looked good. "Thanks. I wasn't entirely sure what to use, this is what I ended up with but I think it looks good." He remarked and glanced over at the latest guest who had come. Simon. "Simon! Nice to see you." It really was. Kim hadn't seen him around lately and had been wondering how he'd been doing.

When Simon asked if he could help with anything, Kim looked around the area. "Um, everything's been set up already but if you think of something that could make things better, by all means!" He said with a twitch of his lips. "I have some games planned for later on that we can all play together if you want to help me with that though." Kim added. He didn't need help but if Simon wanted to be of some use........

Well, he could always include him!

"We have seven more guests coming and then I can go ahead and get Bailey."

Kim told the people already present and glanced up at the beautiful sky above them. He suspected three of the guests would be coming relatively soon as they didn't tend to be late.

Outfit

Putting the finishing touches on the wrapped gifts, AngelFyre ran a comb quickly through her hair and headed down to the party station at the Great Lake. If she understood correctly, Kim had arranged to be keeping Bailey busy so that all the guests could arrive and then he would bring her to the staging area. That was what she hoped she understood anyway, because there was one gift she was simply not successful at wrapping and she did not want to risk running into Bailey in the Corridors beforehand. She was not normally a procrastinator by nature, but studying for exams had taken a priority of late. And speaking of priorities, AngelFyre was especially happy this day had come because she knew she would get to see Simon. Everyone was just so busy as the term was ending, so it was going to be nice to be able to just relax with him and others and have some fun. No studying involved for a few hours! Hooray!

As she walked down to the Lake, she was delighted with the all of the bird songs around her. As she drew closer, the songs were somewhat muffled out by what she imagined might the last minute preparations taking place at the party site and by the voices of early guests. By the looks of it, AngelFyre was definitely not late, not that she expected to be, so that was a relief. She shifted the gift a little higher off of her hip and began to walk a little faster. One of those voices was forever etched in her mind's ear. Simon.

Happily making her way to the beautifully appointed party area, AngelFyre smiled broadly at her fellow and then to Kim. "Salutations, everyone! Kim, you outdid yourself. This is just absolutely beautiful. Bailey is going to be thrilled." Then looking around for the trunk, she walked over to it and placed her three gifts there as requested. The first one was the problem child, but it was handmade so AngelFyre figured Bailey would forgive it not being wrapped. It was a 3D paper vase and bouquet that contained lavender and purple flowers to go along with Bailey's hair tips. The paper was from a damaged book, Thomas Hardy's 'Far From the Madding Crowd' and AngelFyre knew her Ravenclaw friend loved to read as much as she did. It was just a nice way, she felt, to share something that was dear to her with her sunny dispositioned Ravenclaw friend.


The next two gifts worked together hand in hand. Since cell phones were not allowed (and did not work) at Hogwarts, AngelFyre had found some Ravenclaw stationery and a Ravenclaw wax seal set that she hoped Bailey would find useful when owling her family and friends.

Now that her gifts had been safely deposited, she smiled once again at Kim. "It looks like you have everything covered, but is there anything at all that you need help with? I am at your service if need be," and she smiled warmly at him.

Emma was feeling a bit hurried. She was running a bit late as she had noticed a few holes in her wrapping job. Emma had had her mother purchase some copies of her favorite muggle books (the first Anne of Green Gables, and Hush, Hush) as well as a couple of chocolate bars and some gummy bears. She had wrapped the books together with a nice firework themed wrapping paper, and used the same wrapping paper to create a mini bag for the candy. But she had wrapped the books too tightly and the corners had managed to poke through so she had had to do a bit of a patch job, so now it didn’t look as nice. But it was what it was. There was no time to do more.

Emma scurried out of the castle, heading for the campgrounds, not wanting to be late. The invitation had mentioned a surprise party and Emma couldn’t wait to participate. She had done so a few times in the muggle world and it was so fun. She had gone a bit casual dressy, putting on a light blue v-neck t-shirt with a dark pair of jeans, and a pair of colorful converse. Her hair had been thrown up in a ponytail, as she wanted to keep it out of her face.

When she arrived at the campgrounds, she paused, her mouth dropping open. Emma couldn’t believe how amazing the party looked. All of the decorations were beautifully arranged, and there seemed to be plenty of drinks and food on offer.

Done with her perusal, Emma moved towards what she assumed was the gift table, and the nearby group of people. Feeling nervous, she held her packages tightly, biting her lip. “Ummmm…hello,” Emma waved nervously at the group. “This is the birthday party right?” Emma spoke in general terms, just in case. Bailey shouldn't be around yet but still, she didn’t want to give away the guest of honor. Moving closer to the table, she deposited her gifts, saying as she turned back around, “Whoever set everything up did a wonderful job! I was surprised when I walked up, I wasn’t quite sure what I had been expecting.” Emma smiled.

The hardest part was coming up with a good enough gift for Bailey. Yes, they weren't best friends or that close, but Edmund didn't want to show up empty-handed, or with something too boring. A book was too obvious since the girl was a Ravenclaw, but he couldn't come up with any other good ideas - something blue would be equally ridiculous, right?

At last, he settled for a drawing, which he redid over ten times. Initially, it was a realistic portrait of Bailey with an eagle by her side, however, the tall lion soon realized it was impossible to draw someone by memory and expect it to look decent. So, it turned into a caricature of the girl, painted with blue ink, accompanied by a small birthday note in the bottom left corner. There was no way to wrap the gift, though. Eddie could only hope Bailey would be careful with it so it wouldn't rip.

When he arrived at the campgrounds, wearing dark semi-formal clothes under a light greenish cloak, Edmund kept the drawing behind his back. The place looked great - with the colorful decorations, food, and drinks prepared. Someone must have put a lot of effort into making sure the party was nothing short of perfect for Bailey.

He didn't recognize most of the people there, and there was no sign of Bailey. So he took the chance to greet everyone, introducing himself with short nods and a bright smile because the lion didn't want to be left in a corner with no one to talk to.

Edmund bumped into someone and turned around. "Oh, sorry,"

He stared, knitting his eyebrows as an immediate reaction. It took him a long second to remember where he had seen her before. Then it clicked.

"Ah! Emma, right? We had DADA class together,"

Quietly, Pax slipped into the back of the party, a small blue bag in hand. They recognised the name of the birthday girl, but if they'd interacted with them at any moment they had no memory of it. However, Kim had invited them (well, by technicality, they'd asked him on a run and he'd turned them down for this, before then inviting them), and they felt it was rude to turn him down.

Since they didn't particularly know the girl whom the party was being thrown for, their gift has been very last minute and generic. Knowing the girl was a Ravenclaw student, their mind instantly went to one thing- a book. Yes it was obvious and generic but it was the best idea they had. After several hours of franctic scrambling and rummaging through old books they had been given, they settled on something that they hoped she would like- a copy of the classic novel Jane Eyre published in 1900. It had been a donation from one of their father's friends, and then had been passed to them, but the whole family agreed that Jane eyre was definitely not the style of book for Pax.

After a rush wrapping job, they quickly signed a generic birthday card and slipped that into the gift bag before hurrying down to the party. They were already late, so tried to draw as little attention to themself as they crept in. After quickly depositing their gift in a trunk, and upon noticing several people they recognised (mainly Sophia and Kim), they approached them.

"Hey! Glad to see you Kim! And hi, Sophia, I didn't think I'd be seeing you here! Though, actually, you are both Ravnclaw, so it does make sense."
