Even though Ebony knew she couldn't do much to help the game, being benched and without a very good broom, she was still hyped by how good the Eagles were doing.

She watched as her fellow Ravenclaws aimed and shot and passed the various balls, and couldn't help wondering whether she would be able to do that. This was her first game, and despite practices her stomach lurched at the thought of having to play in a real game. Ebony's fingers grew numb on her broom but couldn't help feeling a thrill of excitement at the thought of actually playing, but she knew she was far from ready. So many skills and equipment must be acquired first.

Turning her attention back to the game, Ebony cheered her teammates on and hoped for Ravenclaw's win.

It had been quite some time since River last felt this nervous to play a game of quidditch. She felt their victories this season only brought more and more pressure to keep the streak going. And of course she wished to. She absent-mindedly wandered onto the pitch, she’d been a bit distracted lately. During the last few weeks she’d been way too busy researching how to train pets to do tricks and such, which was going alright for her. Though it had caused her to almost forget that this match was coming up and she felt a teensy bit unprepared. Not only that but a cold seemed to be brewing and her nose had been quite runny for the past couple of days.
One thing that seemed to be good today was the weather. River had grown to dislike flying in the rain as the brooms tend to get a bit slippery, so perhaps this match wouldn’t be so bad after all. She did her usual thing and got into position and prepared to take flight once more, hoping for another successful game.

The last game of the season, their final debut before summer. It didn't seem all that long ago that he had been afraid to fly, but it almost felt like an eternity since the last game.

It was not the war cry of an eagle co-captain but the displeased sound one attempts to encourage their allies to action but instead takes in a mouthful of pumpkin spice. Laughably enough he could now say he had tasted the flavor "purple," and that despite the intensity of its intake there wasn't really much else to complain about. The taste would now remind him of both eternity and the moment, as it had become a malodorous lingerer now entirely associated with his feelings of nostalgia and the will to create more memories like this one.

"Let's soar onward Eagles," he would cry while allowing the choking gas to roll off of him, losing any tears that had formed in its wake to fall away towards the earth. "I can theoretically smell victory," but he dare not say practically. Looking on the bright side, victory and the chaser now had one thing in common. The obstacles between them were basic.

The beaters were not about to be outdone, though. Quinn was out for blood IMMEDIATELY, going for Jorah's throat. He blasted Jorah RIGHT out of the air and demolished his broom to boot. But not before Jorah made a highly calculated hit.

"OUCH! Quinn has taken Ravenclaw's star beater out of the match already! Doooown he goes! And his broom is in splinters! The tragedy!"
Plott could swear he faintly heard maniacal Irish laughter from the Slytherin stands...

But Jorah was not about to go out without contributing. His own bludger shot toward Ami, and knocked her clear from her broom.

" Oh! And Moussa decides he's going to spite Hufflepuff by leaving their Seeker wide open! I wonder-"

Abruptly cutting Plott off, to the relief of many, Jorah's bludger used Ami's body as a springboard and blew toward Serena, knocking her off too!

"Whoa WHOA! Moussa decided to just put the screws to Hufflepuff for breaking his pride! And broom! Thats TWO down in one shot!" The Drama!"

Dear oh dear, am I in the wrong game? I thought Slytherin was the team that did all the cheating! Lavinia, take a tour of the field. Maybe read up on the rules while you're at it.

Ethen fell, and fell, and no one came to save him. He hit the ground, and while not overly injured, he was well and truly out of the game.

"OOOH! And Ethen is OUT! I hope Hufflepuff has a spare!"
I mean... yes.... they did.... obviously.

Did River see a glint of gold? Pity she won't find out, as she got NAILED by a blatch from Serena.

"Hey! I saw that! No blatching! What is so hard for you kids to understand about that?! Serena Bowen, get to lapping!"

But, luckily for River, She was saved by Syl!

"And a save from Dewlight's Knight in Shining Armor, Sylvain! I- Totally ship it!"


There was an overwhelming amount of groaning from the stands.


"What a start! I've seen less bodies dropping in Macbeth! How EVER will the teams POSSIBLY recover?! The suspense is terrible! I hope it'll last!"

It was more of a bloodbath than expected, with both teams losing valuable players. Winnie winced when Jorah was hit, and jumped out of her seat when his broom was smashed. "Shit...!" Broken brooms definitely hit a bit differently when it was your team mate's broom being shattered.

River went down too, but lucky Syl was quick to catch her. He was like a superhero on a broom, using his powers to help his team mate. It was too bad no one was there to catch poor Jorah and Damion, who's first Quidditch match was cut very short. She grit her teeth, having to will herself to calm down.

She needed to find Matt's face, that would help. She scanned the crowds and spotted him... Hanging with Hiro of course. There was a pink towel floating above his head and she couldn't help but quirk a brow. He and Hiro certainly had an odd relationship.

She also spotted Eve, it was always nice to see the Gryffindor captain. Speaking of Gryffindor, she was surprised Marshal had yet to show up, considering they often practiced together and Eve was present.

What is that smell? It was quite strong. Ah, yes, the smell of success. One hufflepuff, two hufflepuffs, three hufflepuffs off of their broom. Maybe less, maybe more, she didn’t know. It was hard to keep up with things that went too fast to her liking. Though the bird’s star beater was knocked off his broom, not to mention his broom was shattered, talk about karma. But the other team was having a big loss already, losing their first string seeker. Hopefully River won't fall so Aurora doesn’t have to play again. She was terrified.

Howard's expression would remain stoic as he grabbed the Quaffle and scored three times, but underneath the stony exterior his insides threatened to burst. All the training and practice he had put in was paying off as he put Hufflepuff up 30 points! However, that feeling of elation would plummet into despair as he spun to see how the rest of his squad was doing. It was like a scene from a Muggle war movie as his comrades fell one by one. Both of his co-captains, his fellow Chaser and Seeker crashed into the earth! Their names shall be sung in Huffle Valhalla! Panic threatened to overwhelm the flying Dhampir, but Howard dug deep to find the courage to carry on. Hufflepuff hadn't been completely unsuccessful and all they could do now was attempt to build on their small victories.

Well they took and aggressive approach to the first round and it had worked but also backfired. Apparently the Raven's had sensed it was coming because they pushed just as aggressively. What is it with all the teams being aggressive and trying to kill each other.. save that for dueling.. Annie shook her head as internal thoughts raced around her brain. Getting the play by play of several players from both teams getting knocked off their brooms made her heart ache but they were still fairly even. If anything they were ahead with actual points, perhaps not bodies. Well.. it was a start. Annie hollered into the crisp air, her voice rising with the encouragement of her housemates in the stands. "Alright not bad but c'mon Badgers we can do better!" It was only the first round after all, they had to be grow a tougher shell because playing with half a team did not end well for them previously. They worked better as one strong unit and if they kept dropping from the sky like flies, so would their chances at winning. Annie bit at the corner of her lip, tension making her foot bounce with nerves on the turf as swooshes of players flew by.

So many players had already been knocked out. Including Hufflepuff's seeker, Ethen. That meant Stanley had to go onto the pitch. He really had been hoping he wouldn't have to move from the bench but it seemed as though his dreams did not come true.

Stan slowly stood up and grabbed his broom with a tight grip. He had never been knocked off of it yet however there was still a massive fear of the drop he would have to take to get to the ground.

"Everything will be fine. We could win. It doesn't even matter that much. There's always next year."He encouraged himself as he mounted his broom and flew up to meet his team mates.
