Blossom Ball, the moment that everyone has been waiting for. A brilliant and spectacular conclusion to the Spring festivities, and a welcoming to the new season - Summer. The students were joyous for the occasion, and because it was a Saturday, they had the entire day to prepare for this event. Dinner would be served within the Ballroom, so when five-thirty o'clock rolled around, people began to show up. It was the older years that happened to be earlier than anyone else, seventh and sixth years filing into the room slowly, but surely.

Soon enough, it was time for the Blossom Ball to officially initiate. The circular tables were now covered with pink and purple tablecloths, a bouquet of colourful flowers placed in vases in the center of each table. Four chairs accompanied each table, and a little number card was placed right beside the bouquet. Shiny utensils were wrapped in napkins and placed to the right of each seat. Plates, on the other hand, had been left to be brought out until food was served. A few students claimed tables already, leaving coats on the backs of chairs, or simply taking a seat while they wait for the music to begin.

At the front of the room, underneath the two grand windows that peered out to the Grounds, was a long table covered with a bright green table cloth, a beautiful contrast to the purples and pinks, as well as the dark walls. The table was filled with various treats and drinks. Pumpkin juice, punch, chocolate-dipped strawberries, flower-shaped cookies, you name it and it was probably on that table. Hopefully, the students wouldn't fill up too quickly on snacks and waste the dinner that was being prepared for the occasion, though would be served later on.

The condition of the Ballroom was pristine, and along the beams of the ceiling, bunches of flowers decorated the area. The magical paintings in the room were overjoyed that an event was being held, and were excitedly chatting with one another, some visiting others' paintings. This was Matilda's favourite part about the Ballroom and her position for the event. Being one of the head coordinators was a big part, but she also liked to oversee everything and soak up the warm energy that the students gave off when they were having a good time. It felt good to watch others enjoy something that she helped make.

The woman stood by the food table, currently monitoring it to make sure no one would mess it up, or try to sneak in alcoholic beverages, such as butterbeer or fire whiskey. She stood in a violet and light pink gown, one she had yet to wear considering she didn't exactly attend any events where this garment was suitable. The torso looked as though it were made out of flowers itself, fading into the transparent fabric that made up the rest of the front and shoulders of the gown. The skirt flowed out in a beautiful mixture of the two colours, leaving her to somewhat blend into the room, but at least she liked the garment, right?

Her blue eyes scanned the room for certain people - students of hers, that Hufflepuff child that had come up to her at the bonfire, or the one that had given her the flower crown. Or, of course, Ackerley. She didn't quite doubt that he would be in attendance, these were the kinds of events that he liked. Then again, it had been an entire year of getting to know him again so far, and things have changed.

Her eyes flickered back to the doors in no time though, when another influx of students came into the room, joining the rest of the students. Majority of these people seemed to be first or second years, but Matilda wouldn't quite know herself. A smile settled across her face, and a hope sat within her chest that everyone would enjoy the last night of the BlossomFest.

To say she was nervous was an absolute understatement. Her palms were sweaty, and she kept adjusting the top part of her dress that she had borrowed off of Rhea. She didn't feel quite comfortable yet. She was used to tees and jeans, not ball gowns. Fortunately, Rhea on the other hand seemed to be used to it. Hopefully by watching, Sabrina would be able to survive the night. At least she was able to sneak wearing converse to the ball past Rhea. Underneath the golden flow of her gown, white Chuck Taylor's were clad to her feet. Much more support than heels ever gave anyways.

Once she had entered the ballroom, she immediately wanted to stick close to her friends. Her, Rosie, Rhea and Eris had all come together, and until Bellamy, her friend, came she wouldn't be going anywhere. She had asked Bellamy to the ball herself solely because she thought that he shouldn't miss out on all of the festivities, at least. So naturally, she invited him to the last two events of the festival - the bonfire and the Blossom Ball. The anticipation she had built up that night had a slight damper on it now that she was here, but the atmosphere was peaceful.

She bit her lip as she looked around the room, her brown hair brushing against her shoulders. She had refused letting Rhea do any sort of style with it, leaving it in its simple appearance, pinned back on each side by two bobby pins. Nothing more, nothing less. She had also decided against any type of makeup, finding it way too overwhelming. That, and once this was over, she was pretty sure she wouldn't be wanting to have a shower in order to get all of the the makeup off.

Hopefully, there would be more people she knew there, but for now it seemed as though there was only a large crowd of older students, or people she didn't really recognize.

OOC: the dress not the girl.

Verla hoped that someone would've asked her to dance, she hadn't planned on coming anyway, so she didn't know why she was there. She didn't care though, she just hoped she'd see some of her friends. She didn't plan on being there long unless she had a reason to. This was her first ball after all. Still, all she did was find a place to sit and began drawing the ballroom since it looked different from the first time she was in there. It truly was beautiful in there. When sat down and after she was done drawing she got straight back up and went to get a drink. She was nervous, and she could tell by her hand shaking as she lifted the cup to her lips and took a sip. She really wanted to see Wes or Levi there. Her only two guy friends. Until then, she hid in a corner where she had first seen Wes in the ball room with Vecrow and Bates.

She looked around again, hoping she wouldn't be noticed, her legs were a bit cold for how short the dress was, long enough but short that it ended above her knees. She crossed her legs and continued looking, she was the first one there apparently, so she waited a bit until more people got there.

"What cannot be seen, felt, or carried?" Person who gets this right I will donate some money to them.

Wesley entered the Ballroom, his posture at its best (and must I say his hair too). A nice suit was on his body, although the cuffs of his blazer's sleeves were just a bit too short, and his shirt's sleeves were visible. Clearly Ian had gotten a size too small for the blazer! That was nothing to worry about, though. This had been the moment he had been waiting for for such a very long time; he could not be patient enough to wait to see Phaedra. She was already beautiful as it is, but with a gorgeous gown and pretty shoes and hair done in a pretty way, she would definitely look quite magnificent and exquisite.

All along the sides of the domed room were round tables and buffet tables and chocolate fountains. Towers of sweets, fountains of pumpkin juice and butter beer. Deciding to patiently wait until he could spot Phaedra's face (if he could recognise her from a distance), Wes sat at one of the tables with a goblet in his hand, which was filled almost to the brim with warm cider. He slowly sipped, and looked around. He certainly was early for the Ball to start, but he was always either right on time or rather early.

Through the doors, Ian and his boyfriend entered, and they looked perfectly divine together. In all honesty, Wes wished and hoped that him and Phaedra could look like them when they were older. If only she could return those feelings that he had for her, but Wes knew that whatever feelings he had for her could never possibly be returned. Never in a million years!

The prefect stood outside of the large doors, twiddling her thumbs absentmindedly as she watched various other students slowly make their way inside for the dance. She had been looking forward to the ball event the most out of everything else around the castle, and now that it had actually arrived there was a tightness in her chest that she could only interpret as nervous excitement. Reaching up one hand to smooth down a stubborn strand of black hair back into its plait, Phaedra gazed over the the faces in the corridors - pausing to admire some of the other girl's dresses in the process - to see if she could find her Gryffindor friend.

The boy had asked her to accompany him to the ball through letters by owl. It wasn't what she would consider to be the most proper way to invite a lady - managing such a personal matter would be better face to face - but after he had explained he was too nervous to ask her in person (why, she had no idea) the Ravenclaw guessed it didn't really matter after all and accepted his offer. It was preferable to being alone, at least to her, and she knew the boy was decent enough.

Phaedra hoped he wouldn't mind her last minute change of attire though; they had planned to match each other's colours. Still, she couldn't resist the temptation of wearing the dress she finally decided on - it matched the ball's spring theme perfectly. Custom made and fitting quite nicely, the hem grazed the floor but was light enough to allow her to move and twist without restraint. Bright blue and lavender, it somewhat reminded her of the sweet muggles called candy floss, and possibly her favorite part, there were pink petals carefully designed into the upper layers of transparent fabric. A lot of care had been put into the attire, and she was thankful her parents had allowed her to get it. Not like they would say no their daughter looking her best, anyway.

After a few moments of waiting, she decided to turn and walk into the ballroom without him. Maybe he had somehow slipped by without her noticing; everyone looked so differently. Her short heels clicking on the stone floor, Phaedra gracefully made her way into the center where she turned her head to take in the decor and all of the people scattered about. Out the corner of her eye, she spotted Wes' distinct dark curls and took a deep breath. Grabbing and holding up a bit of her dress's hem to avoid stepping on it, she began to saunter over to him.

"Oh, there you are!" she said, stopping at the table he chose. She looked over him; a nice dark suit just like he told her. It looked a tad small up close, but it still managed to look stylish. "I didn't see you come in. You look very nice," she stated politely. Taking the back of the chair, Phaedra pulled it out so she could sit beside him. Food and drink could come later, for now she was concerned with socializing. "What's that you're drinking?"

Delilah was nervous, really nervous. She hadn't actually asked anybody and nobody had asked her to the ball, so she was currently going alone. She was there pretty early, not many people were there. She had a white with blue flower dress on with blue converses and her short hair up in a little bun. She had gotten one of her dorm mates to do it for her since she never really did anything with her hair. She thought the converses were a little casual but they were the same colour as the flowers on her dress so it looked alright. He didn't know if anybody she kinda would be going or not but so far she knew nobody, she recognised the professor there as Professor Barrows, the divination professor, but she just kinda stood there awkwardly, waiting for somebody to save her from being on her lonesome.

She kinda hoped Reid would be there, she spdidnt know why but she wished he was, she had thought about asking him to go to the ball but had heard Serena was going with him, which made her a bit upset for some reason. She wasn't sure what to think really. At that precise moment in time she wanted to run her fingers through her hair because of her nervousness of being alone at a ball, nobody to dance with, however with it up in that bun that was unavailable to her, except one little piece of hair on each side that were free, she twisted the piece of hair on the right hand side of her face around her finger.

Rosie Parker followed in with her friends after Sabrina, in a gold and long flowing gown with shining highlights. Her hair was pulled back into a curly bun, some of her hair had already started to fall out from the scrunchie. She refused any and all makeup, going with her regular face. Where an excited grin should've been, there was only a faint, and forced smile. It had been a rough week for her, with the bad news from her father, to the response she never received about asking a certain someone to the ball. Oh well. She let out a quiet sigh and let her smile grow wider when she saw how wonderful everyone looked.

The dress Rosie had on wasn't picked out by her, hell she didn't even own more than one. Rhea had found her a wonderful gown, even though Rosie refused to take it, she found herself getting ready with some of the finest pure bloods in Hogwarts. Maybe the only one who wasn't a pure blood and was Rosie's friend was Anatole, but her friend group mostly consisted of pure bloods. Thankfully they weren't narcissists like a certain someone cough Max Avery cough. but she knew she wouldn't be able to go many places with them. Who would want a stinky muggle blood near a group of pure bloods, anyway?

Anyway, despite Rosie's sour mood, she was able to power through for the ball. It was the thing she had been most excited about, and what she had been practicing with. Even though her dance partner wasn't there (hopefully yet) she was determined to have some fun. She clicked her heels together as she stood with her friends, looking over the large and gorgeous room. When she spotted her Divination professor, she rose her hand and waved over at her direction, hopefully the woman saw her greeting. Rosie lowered her hand and focused her attention on her other friends, who all looked gorgeous, it almost brought a tear to her eye.

Sophie stared blankly ahead of her. She was very nervous, and excited as well. She never enjoyed things like dances, or balls, but she did enjoy getting dressed up, and watching other people have a good time. Though the illuminated room was quite beautiful within itself, Sophie only could mind herself.

It wasn't easy to walk in a dress, seeing as she absolutely despised dresses and skirts, however, she was going to try and wear something nice, and try to be nice. Keyword, try. She really was a nice girl, but when her jitters got the best of her, she was sometimes snappy and impolite.

She had arrived early, so she wouldn't be late, or, fall asleep in the process of trying to stay awake. It was quite Ironic really.

The beautiful room illuminated the other people, who were looking just as elegant as any royal figure Sophie had read about. Their dresses and suits and hairstyles and makeup looked wonderful. Sophie only wished that she had a beauty like that herself.

Of course, Beauty wasn't the most important thing In the world, it never has been, and it most likely never will. It all came down to what was on the inside that matters, and on the inside, whether anyone really was worth being beautiful. Or if they were such a nasty person, that they didn't deserve it.

She smiled around the elegant room. Her hair was no longer in a ponytail, but in a beautiful updo, one of her friends had managed to do. Despite her hair normally being messy, her friend had managed to turn the messiness into something beautiful, not even Sophie's mother would've been able to conjure.

She glanced around the room one last time. She hadn't seen anyone of familiarity yet, and she wasn't likely to. Most of her friends ignored this kind of thing. And some of her friends were just plain weird.

Finally deciding that standing was too difficult, Sophie sat down at a nearby table, and rested her head on her arms. She wasn't waiting to be asked to dance. She, wanted the music to play, she loved music more than anything else. The illuminated room was still quite beautiful.

Goodbye lovelies!

Eri entered the ballroom. She was wearing a Dress that she loved. It was one of her favorite dresses that she owned. She also had her hair down.

Eri hadn't asked anyone to go to the hall with her since she was bad at talking to people. So she decided to go by herself. She didn't mind going by herself. She would have fun even if she didn't have anyone to dance with.

Her green eyes sparkled as she walked in taking in every decoration with awe. It was so beautiful. Whoever had decorated the ballroom did an excellent job.

The brunette found her way to an empty table and sat down. She wasn't waiting for anyone one so she decided to go ahead and sit down at a table. There weren't many first years there she recognized, but she was a little early. She recognized her prefect Phaedra Stavrou. There were others she recognized.

Eri left her thin black jacket Sybil she had and put it on the back of her chair. She stood up and decided she might go talk to somebody. She walked around looking at all the intricate decorations. They were very beautiful indeed. Some sparkled, some glittered, and some even looked like they glowed.

Wesley looked up from absentmindedly looking at people enter the hall, and saw, before his hazel eyes, a girl in a divine dress. It was Phaedra. And he was correct - she was the most beautiful he had seen him this year. Her hair was wonderful, just as he had imagined, and her dress was so... aesthetic and elegant. A smile on his face conjured up, and it was huge and happy. "Your dress!" He grinned, standing up and towering over her like a small skyscraper. His eyes wandered from Phaedra's hair to the bottom of her dress. "I feel like an ass for not wearing something as amazing as your dress!"

Wes breathed out an astonished breath; his dimples were the deepest they had ever been. He sat back down along with Phaedra, and listened to her talk. "I didn't see you come in," the girl said. With this, Wesley's hazel eyes grew sad and apologetic.
"Yes, I apologise... I was getting thirsty," Wes replied, his body tensing. As if trying to change the subject, Wes thought, Phaedra said, "You look very nice." And Wesley's smile returned, as large as it was just a few minutes ago.
"Ah! Thank you, Phaedra! It used to be Ian's when he was my age, so that's why it appears to be a bit too small, because he was as thin as a skeleton when he was eleven," Wes replied, looking into his goblet, and at Phaedra, of course. After Wesley finished his reply, Phaedra pulled out the chair next to him and sat down in it, beginning to say something else; "What's that you're drinking?"

Wesley looked back at his silver goblet, at the steamy cider. Smiling, he looked back up at Phaedra."It is warm cider," he said. To his left Wes turned his head. "You can get the drinks from there." With his whole hand, Wes showed Phaedra the Drinks Table. It had a white curtain cloaked on top of it, and bowls and fountains and ready-filled silver and gold goblets.
