I do not think that is that much of an issue, Logan is almost 14 and I made her extremely good at horseback riding and dance. As long as there is a reasoning for why they are good at something, not that they just woke up and could suddenly play guitar really well.

And I know about 80% of pop songs lyrics as well as the name to many pop rock songs), going to school (hear me out. Not for the learning, but because I have a chance to see my friends. Does anyone not appreciate that? Everyone hates school but for me, it's a break from the stress at home where I get to learn in a better environment with my friends) . food (no comments needed)
chocolate, puppies, kittens, birds, fruit, the chirp of the birds right in the morning, annddd something I REALLY love is that faint smell of rain on the early morning as well as the fresh sunlight.
I also feel AMAZING when I watch random acts of kindness and when I help people.

So basically, a lot of things. OH! And reading and drawing!

It's definitely not unrealistic for him to be good at guitar
Maybe a little bit to be great at guitar because there's only so many who practice that much so young. But easily yeah he could be playing some mid-complexity stuff for sure, and the longer he's been playing and the more dedication to practicing, the better he'll be.
