Seren watched and listened as everyone tried to tell her it was not her fault, her face growing paler by the minute. She was surrounded by people who somehow reminded her of home in all the worst ways possible, and she was clearly overwhelmed and more than a little terrified. The polite ways they were talking to each other, and her, did not hide the unkindness that was boiling under those words, from at least some of them.

The young man who was with the other girl was the only one who she did not feel suddenly scared of, honestly, but only because he was not aiming his judgement at her. He still unnerved her, but that was at least partly because she felt like she was in a situation entirely out of her control and that was decidedly NOT to her preferences. Not that she was often in control of her life, but when it was this level of out of her control, she had no idea what to do, because she might be punished.. However, she softly said "If you are sure..."

She was considering trying to slip outside, though part of her felt like maybe she would be being VERY rude if she did... After all, she had technically agreed to accompany Hadrian.

Before she could make any moves, however, the announcement of the Hexiwizard champions came through, and it all went to pure chaos and hell. Hadrian's sudden furious violence... Miss Notrésvace's words, the ring in her hand... The woman turning into an owl? Oh she had heard of Animagi, of course, but she had never seen one in person, and in such circumstances, Seren had no idea what to do about any of this. She went as white as a sheet, and for a sudden and unexpected moment, her hair and eyes did too, as she lost control of her abilities in her overwhelmed fear. The white eyes turned to the only person left right besides her, as she began to gain just enough control back that her eyes became blue again, and her hair returned to the natural color of black (instead of the lovely blue it had been).

She shook softly for a moment, her hand unintentionally clenching around the diamond ring, and whispered "Once again, I am so sorry... I do not know what happened, but... Mother always said I am why things go wrong... I am so sorry..."

And she fled. She fled the Great Hall, and back into the castle, heading up and hopefully towards her dorm... She did not know anymore, she was so upset.

Well, at the very least she is not wearing a blanket like a toga or an oversized, cinched shirt. She was wearing white of all colors, probably one of the worst options to wear to a ball. The smoke, grass and blood stains alone were a sufficient reason to choose something else entirely. If nothing else, Erin cleaned up well. A gold-colored bangle on her left wrist and a pair of diamond stud earrings that were nearly invisible gave the part Veela a rather understated presence in comparison to some of the more elaborate choices in attire some of the other girls donned.

She felt tall at the very least, wearing a pair of wheat-colored wedges that added four inches to her already appreciable five foot five frame. She was thing, but she did not appear sickly. Her long, blonde hair was simply pulled back from her face, wisps of unruly strands of hair would frame a seemingly clean face. Little did she know and little had she prepared herself for a food fight that would be taking place on the first and potentially only ball that she bothered to clean herself up for. Balls such as the Blossom Ball are known for their chaos and she would not miss the disaster for the world.

Erin would astonish herself as her extinguishing spell hit its mark and effectively staunched the flames. She was never a great caster, her lack of passion made her magic heartless and without depth. It just was. Teakettle to... some random rodent or knickknack. It could be done of course, in its raw form. A pot she had seen before, bereft of creativity and rather an emulation of something she had seen before. Much like her versions of happiness, love and sorrow. It was as she had seen it before, never her work, her thought, effort or heart.

She would see Howard there, red eyes glowing and fangs bared. He had just struck Yefim, the boy who was on fire until a second ago. Of course the dhampir was involved. Howard always was a stand out, a rival in many ways. She was envious of him for his perceived advantages so disparaged him for whatever it was that he lacked. Intense insecurity that only seemed to bloom as she saw her faults more clearly without the fog of madness. In this case, Howard was in the wrong at least in her perspective -- decking a guy covered in blood, food and fire. "The fuck is wrong with you Howard!" Erin shouted. She was about as dainty as Rambo in a dress in how she held herself as she rushed over on those annoying mini stilts girls called "heels" and wand in hand. "Don't touch my" what is he? Man? No, that was not the right word. Boyfriend? No, they were not official. Champion? Closer, even if it was a betrayal of her own school but she had no particular loyalty to anyone. "Yeet-him" yeah, his name or something close to it. 'Pretty food-covered man that liked her' seemed a bit long. Her first impulse, which she would get to eventually would be to kick Howard's ass but he might have killed her new plaything before she had a chance to use it. Merlin damn it Howard!

"Ferula" she muttered as she waved her wand in an agitated manner towards Yefim. The bandaging charm, keep his blood (hopefully) inside. "I thought you had girls to keep you occupied," Erin waved her hand vaguely. It was no secret that there were way more girls than guys in their school, in their year even. "Let one of them thirsty bitches occupy you," yes she just called Bloom and Serena 'bitches' in this context as well as whoever else had gotten near him. She was no longer keeping track. "I am keeping the loud Russian." Yes that was the most descriptive and accurate pair of adjectives she knew of for him, as pretty as he might have been when cleaned up and uninured the Durmstrang 'Champion' looked like he was on the losing side of every fight he ever had.
Action: Yell at Howard (since I cannot punch him (yet); Ferula (Bandaging Charm) cast on Yefim.

Mathias was very busy breaking his girlfriend's heart and declaring some rando the Champion for Mahoutokoro, essentially undermining his uncle's plan. It was not the day he had intended but what did he really think was going to happen? He found the most foppish attire he could procure, he had played a mind game with his girlfriend, and he had given a false impression to those around him. Actions that in and of themselves meant little, but threatened his position in coming years as his cousins and brothers would find ways to further ingratiate themselves and he would fall behind.

He had to contend with bigger issues than his uncle's favor. If anyone got too close, they would suffer a similar fate as Vladimir had. He was not going to become Mahoutokoro's champion, "I am not even Japanese, I have no loyalty to this school I was sent to, the decision was made in error." He insisted as he approached Lazarus Plott. The boy was dressed like a boy that expected his name to be called, he had even proclaimed it several times. So when he said -- "things have changed Headmaster Plott" in a low voice that sounded more like a demand than a plea. "You should have read the other name," as expected. As written.

Only Plott would turn that slip of paper around. There was only one name, it was crossed out by there was nothing written alongside Winnie's name. A hard line drawn through the center, a foolish mistake but not as queer as the fact that the name Levi Drakos was missing. He had written it, he was certain. "There was another name," he insisted in a quavering voice as the color drained from his features. He was certain that there was another name. Another person. That he had written it, he was certain of it.

Only he was wrong. He was simply delusional. He had believed he knew someone named Levi Drakos, a young pretentious youth that would serve as his foil, his rival in all things including Winnie.. He would look around for him, for Levi that is and he would not see him. Perhaps he had left, he was gone. "I swear, he was just," he pointed uselessly in the direction of his shrieking date. A delusion. A shared psychosis, folie à deux.

His. Name. Was. Not. There.

Perhaps it was never there. Perhaps those squabbles, he was having them with himself. Perhaps their first, last and only kiss never happened. Perhaps it was not Levi that screamed but it was him at last year's Blossom Ball. The arguments, the meddling, the sly actions and the strange women that shared in his madness. That recalled this incompetent. This manifestation of his or someone with even greater will's broken mind. He stubbornly recalled what was, he was certain of it. That young Napoleon was here somewhere. But he was not. He was never coming back and he was never going to be seen again. Perhaps he existed. Perhaps he did not. But the threads of fate had changed somehow, shifted in a way that was perhaps ill-conceived.

"Name that one," he muttered in haste as he pointed a now sweating, pale hand towards Aryaan Shamsi, a fresh pretentious brat. He sounded confused, defeated. It is one thing to have a foe and be outwitted, it is another thing entirely to find out that they are no longer there. One is left to wonder if they ever existed at all. "I have a girlfriend to apologize to and an uncle to disappoint in fresh. novel ways."

"Can we work something out?" He shouted over the clamor of the ball-goers. The food fight had devolved to an all-out brawl between two students. "I am sorry, I think?" He was not entirely sure. He did kiss the guy? Some guy. Was it some random in the Great Hall or was the letter unsent? He did not know and he did not care. "I am an idiot, probably." he was again, not entirely sure. He did some stupid shit, his wand in hand still he would give Felix the side-eye as he flicked his wand in his direction without looking at the foreign teen. "Flippendo," he declared his word of intent. He was not going to deal with more foreign shenanigans than he had to.
Action: Cast Flippendo at Felix.

Hoping beyond hope, Greta had taken extra care to enunciate her spell and line up what she hoped would strike two targets at once. Admittedly, she was far more accustomed to using that trick offensively. And in a way, it seemed more appropriate to do so. The anger and flourish supported a more pointed assault than it did the delicate art of supporting and defending her allies. Even still, the light would emerg from her waand tip, its warmth signaling a successful cast. What was more, the light would split, one heading directly for Yefim where she had intended, and the other washing readily oevr Theo.

Her eyes dropped to him. In an instance, she could feel the stiffness of his immobilized state relinquish. Her attention would snap to him in that instance, concern riddling her countenance as she hopped back, still crouched, leaning forward on on toes until her weight was supported heavily upon fingertips. "You... you are okay, yes?" she uttered breathily, searching his face. Instinct to move closer fought against the apprehension of proximity that kept her at bay. She could see no obvious sign of injury, but wouldn't spare him her sight until he confirmed that he was alright.

Only once he had abated her worry would she tear her gaze away. Fully expecting to see that her spell would have likewise provided relief to the ongoing flames assaulting the Durmstrang champion, Greta would be shocked to see that he remained well wreathed in fire. Eyes widened, she jumped to her feet, scrambling closer to him. Had she somehow missed?? But no... it was right on track. Had it not... had it not worked? Certainly, the general counter-spell was an unorthodox choice to quell the effects of incendio... In fact.. she couldn't think of any instance where she had chosen that over the usual extinguishing counter-charm, but she would have thought it would have worked..? Guilt and panic bubbled uncomfortably, sending her heart to racing against what little time the boy had left. He was tough, but not invincible, as much as he might argue against that. Time had already been wasted and she would have to make good on—

The flames went out. Greta blinked, searching for the caster who had done it. A beautiful foreign girl all in white had emerged from the crowd like an angel, saving their reckless hero. Greta's eyes widened at the sight of her, momentarily awe-stricken. There was such a grace to her, one that Greta could only ever hope to aspire to.. But she couldn't gawk for long. A feral hiss preceded a creeping sense of dread and forced her to turn her attention back towards the confrontation.

Shivering with the chill that momentarily left her stationary, the little Valkyrie balked at the transformation that so subtle a shift could inspire. With fangs and claws bared, lips curled, and murder in his eyes, this White was a fiend to behold. It was lucky his attention was directed to the boys nearest him otherwise she might have forgotten herself, dropped her wand and scrambled backwards in a terrified flight.

"Y-ye-yefim, get out of t-there!" Came the plea, calling out to him in the hopes that he might abandon his pride and save his own skin before it was too late. She daren't get any closer, but she had to do something to help him. Even if it just meant stopping those who might pursue him. Still, it was another moment before she could settle the stuttering and recover herself long enough to enunciate a spell. "Immobulus!" Where one had failed maybe a second would succeed. It was the first spell that came to mind, and all she wanted to do was stop the fighting. Yefim was in rough condition and now they were ganging up on him.

It was after the game.

Hiro had been the first one eliminated, that still stung but he'd had to accept this.

A sigh escaped his lips as he played with his boomerang, that was currently still inside his suit pocket. Part of him wanted to take it out and throw it. He'd found someone that needed cheering up, himself. But at the same time, he didn't want to be alone. And when Akira had descended from the sky, Hiro hadn't wanted to stay with him. Why? Because he was feeling rather embarrassed. Of course, he'd reunite with him later on. But he needed a few minutes.

Alone.

So he'd gone off to grab a few snacks from the potluck table.

Or rather from the mess beneath where the potluck table had been. Only to find the mess had been cleared up already and no trace of the food remained. Of course, just his luck.

Hiro let out a sigh and happened to see a girl getting startled from some kind of explosion. It looked to be chocolate by nature, if the fluff of brown powder was any indication. Unfortunately, the girl seemed as if she was about to lose her balance as a result of this. And as he watched from a short distance away, she started to fall and his eyes widened upon realizing that she was actually going to faceplant onto the floor. Hiro quickly darted forward.

Before she could fall over, he'd caught her in his arms. "You okay?" The pink haired boy asked the girl in the navy blue dress. He let his eyes flicker over her for a moment and then set her back up onto her feet again. Hiro didn't realize it but the action had caused part of his boomerang to peek out of his pocket. If she glanced downward, she might see it sticking out. "Is there any nice food left from the potluck table?" Hiro asked her a bit hopefully.

Even if the potluck table had been destroyed, that didn't mean all the food was gone, right?

Playing as iNPC Yefim Rumyantsev
Right as Yefim would start his fiery charge, he'd be bumped aside by some other dude, who was strong enough to make the railcar topple over and be completely derailed. Yefim would still be conscious, but it was hard to move now that his momentum had been halted. After all, he was sticky and burn-y. He knew he could have pushed forward and done something truly heinous, but it was not meant to be.

As usual, this destiny was saving him from consequences. He had a supernatural knack for doing horrible deeds and getting them blamed on someone else. When he attacked Quinn the giant, he got the Hufflepuff team in trouble when Quinn broke his leg. When he antagonized the Hufflepuff team again, he got Howard in trouble for knocking him out cold. At the fall ball he attended, he dirtied a Hogwarts prefect only to lay all the blame on Charles Alluring. Now, this rando was going to continue harassing Howard while Yefim got to do something else... talk to a girl.

Yes, the highlight of this ball was not the announcement of his name (afterall, it was a given,) but the appearance of his Angel of Destruction. She not only put out the flame that threatened to do lasting damage, but also started to tend to his weapon wounds. It was clear to him then (because it was what was right in front of him) that his attention belonged elsewhere. On her, his Goddess of Muscle, his Muse of Mayhem. Through his barely passable knowledge of English, and his inexcusable means of social interaction, she had always been there, the only decent thing to come out of Hogwarts. He would gawk as she talked to him, admonishing his rival and even almost saying his name right. This was love.

”Erin!” He would acknowledge her with the eyes of an eager puppy dog, her beauty beyond comprehension. ”Erin, Erin Erin!”

Before he could try to think of more English words than just her name, Greta would warn Yefim with a terrified voice. That poor lamb. It looked like it was time to make their tactical exit and let everyone else deal with the fallout. After all, no matter what he did this time, he did not fall unconscious. It was finally happening, he was ready. Howard and the rest of the champions could dwell on this in their spare time, and think about their imminent demise. Yefim had to lie down.

[”Alright fam, we've made our mess, let's roll.”] Yefim would fulfill his roll as the loud Russian, swooping his arm in the air. Whether they heard him or not, he would try to get up, taking Erin's or anyone's hand if they offered the counter-weight.

@Piérre Marchonné

Scarlet and silver clashed. The cattling wasn't quite fast enough to prevent their violent union. Piérre swung at his brother, but fortunately missed. The cloaked boy on the other hand, had managed to maneuver and grab his silver-clad brethren by clasping his head in the crook of an elbow. Xailah advanced upon both, grabbing the only boy who managed to land an attack. She latched onto Romeo's sleeve and pulled, but found the feat of removing him to be harder than she had initially imagined. Piérre stammered. She probably looked ridiculous with the lot of them. Her failure would not drive her away from the scuffle, she remained at their side tearing stubbornly at Romeo's locked limb. Did she feel that this was her fight too? Not quite. But she did feel it was hers to diffuse. Or lessen any blows at the very least. She didn't like to see people fight in the way that these two chose to- not publicly. Such disputes were best left for places of solitude, where an audience couldn't be lured in. In truth, Xailah was less concerned about the outcome of the sibling quarrel, and more concerned about the wellbeing of the cat that was somehow now involved.

She spotted- in the corner of her vision- a little sliver of flashing grey. It moved quickly, whatever it was. She would soon find out when it scaled Romeo's tree-like figure, and found purchase around the young man's face. What the hell, was all Xailah could think. What. The. Hell. It didn't take long to figure out who the cat belonged to. Piérre began calling to the little creature, Figaro; pleading at it to stop it's attack. Poor thing only wanted to protect it's keeper. Xailah had experienced the same with Schrödinger before, and therefore understood that a cat wouldn't just stop attacking because it was asked to. Anything that wanted to protect something, didn't just stop. So now there was a cat to worry about- a greater reason to put an end to this conflict.

This was a first for the Prefect. She rarely had to play mediator- if ever. Fights between peers didn't happen when she was around, and they certainly didn't continue. And yet Romeo still maintained his hooked grip around his brothers slender neck; despite the grappled boys warning that Xailah was not the prefect you wanted to draw the attention of. Loose warnings were apparently ineffective, as was physical force. That meant the only way to stop him was with words and spells. She of course was not above beating the absolute bejesus out of both teens, should the situation come to that. She just preferred that route as a very last resort. Right now, she thought that she could talk everyone down. The crimson cloaked boy- he stuttered- mentally scrambled for some reasoning for his actions. That was good. That meant he was vulnerable. But was he open to listen? That would be found out soon enough.

The metamorph racked her mind for the older-looking boys name, trying to remember how he had introduced himself before- she was certain he had. After a moment she found it, she had to dig way back, back to her first broom race of the summer, but she found it. "Romeo!" Xailah snipped, her head shot up to get a clear view of his face. Her eyes bore into him from behind her mask. "Look at you," she strained, still tugging desperately on his shirtsleeve, "you're so much bigger than he is, and not to mention stronger." Damn boy was built like a brick house. She couldn't even get him to budge. Then again, she wasn't exactly brimming in the physical strength department- but that was irrelevant. Attempts to pull him away produced fruitless results, but she remained persistent. She may have not been able to pull Romeo away, but with her serpentine tongue and enticing cord of falsities, she could pull him along. Thumb at an ego that may or may not have been there- she couldn't quite tell.

She leaned to scarlet-draped boy, her grip cemented in his forearm, she spoke in a tone not quite as chilly as before. Keen ears could pick up on a peculiarity- a note of deceit; as if she didn't believe the things she was saying. She was playing a game. Her leer slid to Piérre, but only briefly. "And yet you hold him back as if he were some maddened dog." There was one thing to make very clear here: Xailah did not underestimate Piérre by any means. She had seen the boy in action before, and she had seen what he was capable of. His determination was quite scary, as was his ability to act on a whim. He was a quick thinker; and though his thoughts were usually put towards good things, like helping others, she knew they were something to be wary of. Regardless of the intentions. Piérre was a fool. Fools were unpredictable. As a human being, as an animal, the elfling boy was not to be underestimated.

But she talked the green-eyed fae down, making him seem more pathetic than he actually was; in hopes of convincing his sibling that the restraints enforced were unnecessary. They were unnecessary, and she would have bet good money that the boy knew the same. In a last effort to get through, she summoned a bit of pathos. "Let him go before you hurt him- before you further hurt each other." Further, she said, because she knew some of their words from moments before must have made lacerations in their psyche. Neither had been keen to hold their tongues back. "Don't do something that you're going to regret." She would take a moment to see if her words had any effect, before further acting. A sly hand would eventually depart from it's spot on Romeo's sleeve, sliding away in search for the unmistakable shape of a wand.
Casting Spongify on Romeo, if she fails to convince him into letting Piérre go, or if he attacks Figaro.

"Pizza!" She called as she snapped her fingers, trying to get her rat's attention so he would come back to her. Everything was happening too quickly to make sense of the situation. What started it, she would not know. But what caught her was Howard's choice of words. The emphasis on human. Was this a racial attack? Her heart pounded aggressively in her chest as the panic flooded through her. It wasn't right.

Her gaze shot to Erin, who was... yelling at Howard? What- She made it sound like Howard was the one starting this. And in all honesty, he very well could have. But Serena knew him and she had met the Durmstrang boy before. Of the two of them, she had no doubt in her mind that the other kid was at fault. It was the same boy who provoked Quinn, it was the same one who tried to hurt them and Howard had to stop him before. Of course, Howard was annoyed at him - who wouldn't be! The other kid deserved it! Even if he was innocent today, he was definitely not innocent and Serena knew that even if she did not know how this all started.

Wait - did Erin say her Yeet-him?! Right. Right. She was his special person... he was the Durmstrang champion. Dammit. This whole thing sucked. On the one hand, she had started to actually feel something for Erin. She cared for her and she wanted to protect her - though she was also certain that Erin was far stronger and far more capable than she was. But she was worried for her.

And yet, right now, she was stuck in the middle of the two and forced to make a choice she did not think she would have to make. She stared at Erin, trying to keep herself calm. Everyone was just heated and emotional. That was it. Right. Yes. This was not Erin's fault, despite the harsh words coming out of her mouth. It was just... irritating though. Serena was trying to be nice but hell, it was annoying. Erin would not have even been standing there as 'fine' as she was if it was not for Howard who literally had risked his life to save her.

"How about we all just calm the fuck down?" Serena snapped towards Yefim and Erin, trying so hard to diffuse the situation without getting emotional but the curse word at the end of her sentence betrayed her. It was too hard to be unemotional about this. He was getting attacked and although she had no idea why, the fact that he clarified 'human' stung her. She could do nothing but silently hope this was not racial. Every time she saw Yefim's stupid face, all she wanted to do was punch it.

Her gaze turned back to Howard, quickly pulling out her wand, "Finite Incantatum," She mumbled, trying to remove the spell placed on him so he could actually defend himself if he needed to. If it was successful, she would continue trying to stop Howard from pouncing on the guy, "Howard, don't- he's not worth it," Serena hated herself for the words she was saying. A part of her just wanted to whack Yefim in his stupid face for his horrendous actions - at least the ones he had done before today because she was aware of those - but she also knew that the story was always twisted. She knew how it would look, how it would be told. Quinn broke down because of what Yefim did. She saw one of the nicest people she knew cry because of this guy. Hell, Howard got in trouble for what Yefim did - when all Howard did was actually protect others. Every time she saw Yefim doing something awful, she would also see her friends hurt for it. And she hated it.

She gritted her teeth. One day... they would get their revenge. It might not be now but one day. And she immediately hated herself for thinking about revenge on the Durmstrang. But every day, it seemed that kindness was quickly seeping out of her and she was getting swallowed by the anger. It was too hard to forgive and forget. Some times could not be forgiven, some things would never be forgotten.

Theo would be lying if he claimed not to feel the slightest bit heroic trying to protect Greta. Being protective, no matter over whom, always made him feel satisfied, and with Greta, the sweet, intelligent Durmstrang girl... That had to impress her, right, even the tiniest bit?

The moment he had finished saying the incantation, he felt that something was wrong. And a moment later he felt it too. The spell that was meant to leave the tip of his wand hit his chest and left him unable to move. He had no idea if Greta could see it, if it was even visible, but he felt his cheeks heat up.

At least he was standing upright. For a few moments that was, until Greta grabbed his arm and pulled, making him los his balance and fall over. Unable to protect his face with his hands, he just pressed his eyes shut as he landed first on his wandhand and then on his side.

Finally, finally Greta ended the spell he somehow managed to cast on himself. Yes, he had felt safe under her protection, but somehow... he had imagined this differently.
Immediately he sat up, clasping his wand and suddenly finding himself face to face with Greta asking if he was fine.

Theo didn't answer at once, instead watched her as she searched his face for three or four second, only breaking the silence just before it could get awkward. "Mir geht gut. Und du?" Me is fine. And you?, he finally responded, quietly.

The ginger ghost was fast, and Felix's fingers would only grasp at the air between the two instead of grabbing ahold of his jacket. It didn't matter either way, because his target had not managed to grab ahold of his classmate and was now in range. He was about to lift his wand and shoot a spell his way, but something suddenly hit him from behind. The force was enough to send him toppling over face first. "What the fuck?!" He shouted, glaring over his shoulder at what he assumed must be a rhino of a person. Instead he was met with the image of a tiny looking girl that had more hair than body mass. How the screeching banshee had managed to push him over was a mystery to Felix, and he wasn't about to stick around to find out why. She was screaming at him, something about her boyfriend. Then she called him a gothic snowman. "Stay the hell away from me, you crazy Pippy-ass looking termagant!"

At this point Felix was pretty sure he would die by this woman's hands, he frantically looked around for his own girlfriend, but found she was gone. He could see she hadn't taken Cain to the first aid tent either. Had she ditched them? Had she even attended the ball in the first place? He thought he had saw her... Either way... He somehow he didn't feel too disappointed about it. Actually he was pretty pissed off. It looked like he wouldn't have a girlfriend for much longer. (Please note this was placed in my RP due to the ban of Levi Drakos during the middle of a fight). "MERLIN, call off your bitch!" He hissed at Mathias, although it seemed the guy couldn't be bothered to even focus on him, instead trying to give his girlfriend what was perhaps the world's worst apology. Felix's eye twitched in annoyance. Well, he was on the floor, he was going to use it to his advantage. He tried to sweep his leg out, attempting to push his new enemy onto the floor. If he couldn't break his bones, he'd try to make sure he left with a bloody nose.
