Gryffindor had been doing a pretty good job so far of capitalizing on their advantages. This volley of spells would mark a departure from that, and the lions surely hoped it was only a single failure, not the beginning of a pattern for the worse. Though Lindsey was blindfolded, an easy target, only one wand aimed for her, Sylvie's instead trained on Lucia. That was fine, there was no obligation to smash a blindfolded opponent with a duo of spells. What became problematic for them was Elsa's spell, supposed to be a sure hit, fizzling at her tip, nothing but a weak curl of air squeaking out. Sylvie went for Lucia, who could see perfectly and was in no mood for being slammed by her Flipendo; the Hufflepuff moved just fast enough for the Knockback Jinx to pass her, no doubt blowing her hair around for how close it had been.

While Lindsey made as quick work as possible of her blindfold, no doubt incredibly relieved to have somehow escaped her predicament unscathed, Lucia set her sights on Sylvie. Unlike Elsa's Ventus, which had failed to cast, and Sylvie's spell, which would miss, Lucia sent a solid cast straight into her target. Sylvie was left caught in a gale, perhaps struggling a bit to maintain her duelling posture, and just like that, the scales of momentum were tipping back the other way. It was still anyone's duel.

Tearing the blindfold off, Lindsey stared at her opponents. It was rather to her surprise that neither of the two Gryffindor girls decided to target her when she was still unable to see the outside world, since a blindfolded person was fairly easy to be hit. Raising an eyebrow and twirling her wand in her fingers, Lindsey took a deep breath. There was still time, and they should be able to catch up.

Sylvie felt a bead of sweat trickle down her forehead. It wasn't like she'd not gotten hit during this duel, after all. Though she was hardier than come of her fellow duelists, wounds and burns still hurt at the end of the day.

The gust of wind that barreled into her caused her to stumble back and she braced herself with her back foot. Over the howls of the current she shouted to her partner. "I'm okay! At least I didn't fall over!"

This would be a more relaxed stretch of the duel, only a single spell blazing across the space between teams. Elsa and Lucia both selected healing spells, restoring the strength of either their teammate or themselves, respectively. It was like a pause to take a breath, both girls looking to boost their energy before going back at it. As the duel neared its midpoint and with everyone but Elsa having taken a few good hits, regrouping was a good idea.

It wouldn't be a moment of complete truce, though. Lindsey sent a Flipendo for Sylvie, and though the Gryffindor, aware of her predicament as she struggle against the remnants of wind, made a real effort to come out unscathed, her feet got caught beneath her and Lindsey had placed the spell well. The Knockback Jinx would leave her stumbling back, but the sting should be lessened by Elsa's spell and the knowledge the wind was now completely gone.

One last little thing that happened, in line with the theme of regrouping, was the end of the steady trickle of blood from Lindsey's cuts. Depending on how much attention people were paying, Lindsey might be the only one to notice--and even then, perhaps not if she herself was too focused on everything else--for the bleeding had never been very heavy, but it was still a good thing for the Hufflepuff.

A flipendo from the badgers caused Sylvie to stumble back. Of course, it hurt- but the soothing coolant that was her partner's healing spell worked wonders to keep her mind off that sting. She could hold out a little longer and everything would be okay. Right? She trusted in Elsa to have to back. Likewise, she'd have hers.[/color]

Satisfied, Lindsey watched her Knockback Jinx successfully hitting one of the lions and causing the latter to stumbled back, when Lucia healed herself with a healing spell. A glowing healing tube also appeared around Sylvie, which was the courtesy of her partner. But things were starting to get a little better for the badgers - and Lindsey gave Lucia a grin. “Yeah, we do.” she agreed with her teammate. “We’ll definitely stick to the very end.”
