Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1
Mentioning: @Henry Knight
The duel continued to push against the Slytherins. Another of Piper's Tickling Charms missed her target, and the unfortunate Henry was looking much worse for the wear -- the Ravenclaws were trying to eliminate him. If he hadn't been Piper's teammate, she would have found his verbally throwing stones from a glass house comical. Also ironic was his concern for her when he seemed to be in a much worse state. The determination of her partner was a good thing for sure, however, and Piper appreciated the extra strength his spell gave her. "Thanks! Keep...uh...staying conscious." The Slytherin wasn't the type to lie that he was doing fabulously or deny the situation at hand, or be overtly encouraging. She did hope that the other teams were faring better but all she could do was represent the Vipers well in this duel.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1
@Dealla Prince @Henry Knight @Piper Clark @Alan VanesFor the second time, Phaedra tapped into the elements and sent a stream of water in Henry's direction. It was not as forceful as the first, but the sheer volume of it mirrored. Despite the dwindling fog, it managed to connect and soaked him further. Spectators, or Knight himself, may have considered the repeated spell predictable, but the girl simply liked it, and it was working. A duck to evade Piper, and she lowered her casting arm. “We haven't uttered a word of the championship. That was you.” Knight then continued.
Phaedra's brows shot up. It wasn't Knight's declaration itself that stirred amusement. Many people, including herself, bragged similarly, fueled by egos far too grand and restraint too feeble. Rather, it was what she viewed as his shamelessness. That he could speak so boldly losing as he was currently. The urge to Mimblewimble his droning was tempting, but he was nearing sweet sleep regardless... at least from what she and Dealla could tell through his figure in the fog, unless a total miscalculation on their part.
Either way, Ravenclaw was unharmed and unimpeded. Her fingers knead around her walnut wand as if encouraging it. “Ah. Well, as long as you have your gleaming trophy,” she returned across the piste, smiling. Good for them, truly. But what good was victory if one had to hitch on coattails to earn it? What of personal achievement? “Perhaps you may gaze upon it with the memory that you still failed today, and burdened your team into picking up the pieces. For your sake, let us hope that they can.”

The duel would go on and as Alan watched, Piper would once more attempt to cast a tickling charm and again Phaedra was her target. However she barely missed, as if something had been distracting her, though who knew what was on her mind. Henry just barely managed to conjure up a storm, before the knockback jinx of Dee would knock the air out of his lungs until he finally collapsed onto the piste, just as a spread out wind jinx by Phadra would sweep both Slytherins up. It looked incredibly painful and when Alan noticed that Henry was unmoving, he instantly reacted. "Pause the duel, wands up!", he called out as he waved over some of the nurse assistant students, who would pick up Henry and remove him from the stage to deliver him to the nurse's office. As soon as he was out of harms way, Alan gave the signal to continue the duel.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1

This duel was almost going too well. Dee could feel the urge to add unnecessary flourishes to her casting sneak up on her, to start duelling for show rather than efficiency. Last year's duels had taught her that the moment she lost focus, her spells would start rebounding on her, but after almost a year without any such mishaps, it was getting hard to remember the feeling.
Another two hits, and Henry went down, Alan calling for a pause in the duel. Dee used the moment to roll her shoulders and tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, while trying to pinpoint why she suddenly felt so off about this duel. It lacked a certain... thrill. Too easy, was that it? Partnered with Phaedra against a team her own age and younger, when she was used to duelling at a disadvantage, or even terms at best. It wasn't the lack of fairness that bothered her, either. While Dealla would argue she was pulling her own weight rather than rely on her older partner, proving she was more than capable of defeating duellists her own age, it still lacked a certain challenge.
The slight frown on her face was shaken off to refocus on the duel, the niggling unease pushed aside in favour of a wink and a grin, getting back into stance, her wand held with ease. "No more parroting for this duel," she observed cheerfully.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1
Piper's words washed over the lad, sending him back into reality. Hair sticking to his forehead, wet and itchy as his joints started to ached from the jets or pressure throw aginest him.
A breath. The teen stuffed down the pain, knowing well that if the spells didn't target him then they would target Piper which is something he couldn't have. A soft look toward the second year as hw replied"plan to, I have to keep them from targeting you after all," a nod then a look forward as the smoke cleared revealing the birds of blue.
A wand pointed upward, a flick of the wrist as the teen muttered an incantation then watched storm clouds form over the ravenclaw. A nod. A sign that his wand wasn't completely failing him that duel... perhaps he wasn't the failure that he imagined himself to be.
"Did we fail? Some battles contain a loss for the greater good of the team," Henry called over toward the two ravens, his pessimistic mind reminding him that there won't be any turning this around. The only thing that would matter is staying on his feet for majority of the duel to take the raven's spells.
Piper's spell missed, Henry looked over taking his eyes off their opponents as he offered a small nod and some support, whispering"don't focus on the miss, you got this Piper. Take a moment and breath, there's a lot more in you than you think so take a breath and remember that you-" however he wouldn't be able to finish the words when a force hit him and sent him spiraling backwards.
Breathing hard, an burning sensation flowed through the lad as his mind told him to get up. To stand once more. He couldn't leave Piper.... he couldn't... he couldn't allow her to get hit because of him... he couldn't... a breath.
His mind told him one thing but his body responded in another way. His eyelids drifted shut and breathing slowed as his mind came to a uneasy spiral.
The feeling as if he failed once again flowed through him... now all that's left for the lad to do is hope Piper dodges for rhe remaining of the duel and that Hanako meets an flipendo during his duel.

@Dealla Prince @Henry Knight @Piper Clark @Alan VanesQuicker than the rest, Knight summoned a cloud over their heads. The storm loomed dangerously but did not strike; raised strands of black hair its only physical effect on Phaedra at all. As she narrowly avoided another Rictusempra, she took note of his decreasing smoke screen. It failed to impair anyone other than Knight himself, and so timed with Dealla, she drew back her wand to make do of her promise. “Ventus.”
The boy fell unconscious and Vanes quickly paused the duel. Phaedra occupied herself by checking her nails as he was carried away. Winning felt fantastic, but the lack of a real challenge left her other half feeling antsy. “Indeed. I welcome the silence,” she replied, pointing her wand towards Piper. More for her own image than her opponent's sake, Phaedra supposed she could go easy on the child, just this once.Doing as strategized (x)

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1
Piper watched with dismay as the Ravenclaws converged at once on Henry, taking advantage of his momentary weakness. She barely caught his rattling of words before he lost consciousness. Piper had to begrudgingly admit that it was a good strategy of the Ravenclaws'...simply not in her favor. More annoying was her failure again to cast a spell successfully. The other team remained unscathed and Piper was down a valuable partner; the match was too uneven. Face neutral, she again readied herself and clutched her wand. No matter how the duel ended, she would finish it with honor.Doing as strategized

Alan watched as the duel went on, Piper decided to be on the defense, which made sense considering that she was alone now and still inflicted by the Ventus that had caught a hold of her before. Phaedra would aim at the girl with a Levitation charm, however due to her careful strategy the viper had managed to avoid the hit. However Dee, even if it had been by accident, was more lucky. As she cast a wind jinx to blow over the storm cloud, a powerful gust of wind pretty much shoved the cloud all the way to the other side of the piste, knocking into Piper painfully as it went. Another good round for Ravenclaw, and pretty decent for Piper considering she was not floating in the air.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1

"Pleasant, isn't it?" Dee agreed, nodding, and conveniently ignoring the fact that she had been chattering almost as much as Henry since the duel had started.
Piper was still struggling with the remnants of Phaedra's wind jinx and made for a tempting target, but Dealla did not like the sound of the thundercloud grumbling at them from above. Being struck by lightning was not something she was particularly keen on experiencing; she had witnessed it often enough. Plus, with how this duel was going, she had both time and leisure to get rid of it rather than focus on offense and hope the cloud would show mercy.
"Ventus!" she called, flicking her wand, and then took an involuntary step back at the tremendous blast of wind she conjured. It swept across the stage, buffeting Piper although the force of it had been aimed at the cloud, and Dee paused, blinking, then looked down at her wand. "That was pretty cool," she finally said, sounding mildly impressed.
