Kim was trying very hard to remain calm.

He normally wouldn't do something like this to Felix, he always got flustered around him.

Not that he was the type of guy to become like that around others. But Felix always seemed to get under his skin for some reason. Well, not this time. Or so he'd thought.

Best solution? Focus on Regina's match. It was what he had come here for in the first place. And he could see what kind of techniques and strategies both sides came up with in the process. Since he was going to become a duelist eventually, such information would be useful and he had a good memory. But his focus was interrupted again but not by Felix this time. By Sophia. Sophia??? What was she doing here? He didn't recall her saying she'd come to watch.

Maybe... she had come to watch the duel for some reason. After all, it wasn't as if she would have come for him. Yes, that was it. She'd come to watch the duel, perhaps she wanted to pick up some knowledge or tips. Kim was slowly becoming less beet red, although as he glanced in Sophia's direction, his eyes fell upon Stalker again as the boy shouted out some curse words at him. Almost immediately, his cheeks heated up and his head essentially became a teapot.

It was the first time he'd said his name.

The first time. Kim hadn't even known whether Stalker had known his actual name.

Not until now. Why did the revelation send goosebumps down his spine? Shit, was his face heating up too? Kim idly wondered if someone could heat water up on his face right now. He heard chairs clashing together, some of them even falling, but dared not look over at Felix. As much as it would have been satisfying to know he'd managed to affect him, Kim didn't want Stalker to find out he'd affected him as well. Sophia came barreling directly towards his area.

And then launched herself at him. Kim felt her arms going around his waist and then her head was on his chest. He stiffened instinctively but allowed the contact because making a scene in front of the duelists was not a good idea. The last thing he wanted was to be a distraction for them. However, when Sophia murmured something about saving him from something, he blinked down at her. He was a bit confused. Save him? Save him from what?

He didn't understand.

"What do you mean?" Kim asked, wondering what he needed saving from.

The tall boy's teapot head was slowly becoming less hot and now seemed more like what a teapot would be after the hot water had alerted the maker that it was done.

As in, still hot and red, but not burning and overflowing, calling attention to itself in the process. Of course, then Sophia had to go ahead and ask him if this was Stalker. The guy he'd talked about to her at the ball, after the Firewalking event had ended for both him and Stalker, due to the latter's unexpected actions. Okay, teapot head was back. "Y-yes..." Kim said, averting his eyes. Shit, why was he incredibly nervous? He was the one in control now!

Right? "H-he started to b-bug me and I g-gave him a taste of his own m-medicine." He managed to get out, stammering. Kim really needed to calm himself down. It was a lot easier to talk about Felix when he wasn't staring directly into his beautiful, pretty eyes. Or looking at his face and his luscious lips. And when Stalker had gotten all flustered with him a few seconds ago? Pure gold. It would have been a 100% perfect revenge for him...

...had Kim not become a stammering mess himself.

Usually it was the other way around, but this time he'd been able to turn the tables on him.

It felt euphoric but at the same time downright embarrassing too. This always seemed to happen to him when he was around Felix. Kim wondered if it would always happen like this.

Felix was not good for his heart. The sound of his name on Felix's lips made a shiver run down his spine. He wanted to hear it again. No, wait. He didn't need to hear it a second time. Kim was supposed to be focusing on the match. Regina was doing pretty well for her first time and Kim had to admit he was proud of her. But then, Felix's voice could be heard again and Kim felt his heart flutter. No. Stop it. The content made him narrow his eyes at the boy.

Okay, good.

No more teapot head.

Even though his face was reddish, it wasn't flaming hot anymore. Felix's words were designed to get a rise out of him, Kim knew this. He wouldn't be tricked into an outburst. But Stalker kept going, spouting out nonsense as if he didn't have a brain in his head. Despite this, Kim had to admit, his voice was downright seductive. "Not that it's any of your business but I'm not dating anyone at the moment." He said, glad his voice was steady for right now.

"I want to focus on my studies, which include watching this duel. So please be quiet for the rest of the match." Kim told him, trying to focus on the duel that was currently going on before them. He focused his attention on the duelers again. All he needed to do was not look into Felix's eyes. And he would be fine. That freaky pretty boy was too much for him to handle right now. Kim closed his eyes. Breathe. He'd make it through this.

Felix wasn't going to leave him a flustered mess this time.

Kim opened his eyes and continued to watch the match, not paying attention to Felix or for that matter Sophia either. He wasn't there for either of them, he was there for Regina.

And for his own purposes.

Sophia touched a fallen strand of hair self-consciously and held it in front of her eyes. She frowned.

“W-who are you calling C-carrot-head, you- you deviant!?” she whispered harshly, glaring at this strange, handsome-yet-mean stalker. What right did he have to insult her, harass her Kim, and then stake a claim on Gem, as if the girl was a piece of meat? He wasn't wrong about Gem being prettier than her, though, and she was still mad at the girl for now, but that didn't excuse his behavior!

“S-stay away from Kim and Gem!” she commanded with all of the infuriated presence of a small, angry puppy. She knew it was a lost cause, and she wasn't exactly intimidating, but she couldn't let this deviant try to take her Kim or her Gem away. They were hers!

...in a platonic, friendly way!

...right. Oof.

"Y-yes..." Kim confirmed her suspicions, "H-he started to b-bug me and I g-gave him a taste of his own m-medicine."

Sophia had never seen Kim like this before. He was, well, stammering. Like she did around him and, well, another person she didn't want to think about in this context. Was he smitten? He couldn't be. It was impossible. Kim was so... so hot! And so nice! How could he possibly catch feelings for this - this stalker!? He couldn't! It was impossible!

Still, as she glanced between this jerk who'd called her 'Carrot-Head' and her friend - and admittedly crush - she noted that both boys did look rather flushed. Was it possible something was blooming there? Her fist clenched at the thought. First, there was Kim and Gem dancing at the dance. Now, she had to compete with this stupid Hufflepuff?

Also, hadn't this boy attacked Kim at the Firewalking game? Well, admittedly, Sophia hadn't seen him attack her friend. She'd just seen them both looking rather off, and Stalker had also been holding Kim in a way that would have made Sophia's heart race, even if she didn't like him. Was it possible he'd dropped Kim by mistake because he was flustered too?

Besides, she couldn't just hate him for no reason, could she? Sure he'd said some bad words, and even a few mean things, but forgiveness was a virtue, right? Until she knew he'd done it maliciously, or that he was as cruel as Kim said he was, she owed it to him to turn the other cheek. It was what she'd been taught all her life in church, so it was her responsibility to do so.

She turned to Stalker and forced a smile. She could ignore the mean comments about her hair and give him the benefit of the doubt.

“Hello,” she said with the smile still on her face, “I’m Sophia.”

She held out her hand for a handshake.

Upon hearing Kims words, Felix nearly went deaf due to the bout of rage that crossed his mind so swiftly in that single instant. Who the fuck did this boy think he was?! One moment he was blushing, flustered up against the wall as Felix had yelled in his face, and the next he was so enthusiastically insulting him. Felix stood up abruptly, his vision clouded as he had half the mind to stride over to the stupid gryffindor boy and slap him hard in the face. Then again, he had control of his temper, and even in moments like these, he'd learnt to control himself. These were the effects of having a father like Felix's.

Quiet down?! Kim was the one who had started this shit in the first place. Felix had merely sat next to the boy when he'd decided to harass him! The boy unclenched and clenched his fists, his eyes darkening, although his visage looked calm. Kim didn't know how much he'd pissed Felix off, but it was a good amount, and Felix was on the verge of bursting. Maybe he'd go after Gem just to spite the stupid boy. Curse words and various insults he longed to throw at the boy circled through his head, but Felix didn't dare disrupt the duel even further. He'd come to watch, not to get cooped up in this mess. Duelling was a passion of Felix's and he did not appreciate Kim ruining it for him.

It was several moments before Felix noticed a hand was stuck out in front of him. The cold look in his eyes did not fade as he looked down to see the carrot girl.

"Hello," and despite the piercingly cold stare Felix was giving her, the girl held her smile. “I’m Sophia.”

Felix's anger was still quite at the edge, and for a second, he had to suppress the urge to swipe a rude gesture at her and quite literally throw her a few seats down. He'd do the same with Kim if he could, although he'd make sure he gave him a good punch to the face first. The tips of his ears were flaming red with anger and he quite literally had to tell himself to count to 10 before taking her hand in his and giving it a firm shake. Despite his earlier jabs at the colour of her hair, Felix noticed the girl was really quite pretty. He had a knack for noticing pretty girls of course, but he'd been so distracted by Kim's stupidness, that he hadn't cared to look at the girl properly. Felix took in the gentle slope of her nose, the silky waves of her hair and her brightly coloured eyes which almost seemed to radiate enthusiasm. The prospect of such an enthusiastic human startled him a little, and his anger subsided a notch as confusion took over. Sophia...she had the same name as his sister. His sister which he so greatly adored. His sister whom he'd do just about anything for. Maybe just beacause of that, he'd let this girl have a chance.

"I'm Felix. Nice to meet you Sophia."

She would undoubtedly hear the stiffness in his voice, the pause as he counted in his head to reduce his anger, the twitch of his lips and the vacant look in his eyes as his emotions swirled slowly into one and came to a stop. Fuck this, he wouldnt stand being talked to by Kim like that. Part of him gave up on controlling his anger and standing his ground. Felix straightened, not sparing Kim a glance as he took in Sophias vivid gaze. He wouldn't give Kim the attention he so badly wanted, he’d just go sit somewhere else in the stands, like he’d originally planned.

"I'll talk to you some other time." His tone was off, distracted. Would he even bother trying to talk to her next time? Since when did Felix bother with human interaction? And why was he so disorientated? Duelling was supposed to be something that Felix was passionate about, he was so interested in it. He shouldn’t let Kim ruin something he loved. The squirrel boy could throw stupid words at him, but Felix was better than that. And he’d get back at Kim soon for sure. He paused before glancing his hand, still intertwined in a handshake with Sophia's smaller one. He dropped hers, turning on his heel and stalking away through the rows of seats and sitting quite a way off. The girl and Kim could do what they wanted to together. Felix found he hardly cared, he'd come to watch the duelling anyway, that was what he truly cared about.

Afternoon Slot - 12:30 - 13:30
credz 2 the phenomenal sylvie o'niell of course [graphic design is not my passion]

It was about time the stars aligned in a way that allowed Thomas to show up to one of his friend's duels. Sylvie had mentioned that she had gotten a new wand from family, some vague explanation like that, so the ever-inquisitive Ravenclaw was interested to see how it changed her performance on the piste. The circumstances under which her wand was replaced he didn't entirely understand, honestly he had zoned out a little when his Gryffindor friend had mentioned something about 'family heirlooms,' it was some pureblood thing he didn't care to comprehend.

Sitting at the edge of his seat, Thomas naturally took the opportunity to cheer on @Sylvie O'Niell when the match began. He knew technically as one of the co-captains of Ravenclaw that he ought to be cheering for the badgers at this stage, but could he be blamed for throwing strategy out the window in favor of supporting his bestie? He hoped not, anyhow.

Thomas spectated the duel carefully as always; with his the next day he took any opportunity he could to learn some last-minute strategy. The Gryffindors seemed to be off to an early lead, but there was truly something bewildering about Sylvie's spells that caught him off guard. He noted the way the Hufflepuffs seemed to flinch particularly when her spells struck, a harshness that he didn't recognize. The culprit herself seemed mildly baffled herself, though Tom never knew Sylvie to be the type to be overwhelmed with empathy. No, she cast again, and that very same harm came to the other Hufflepuff, the two apparently bleeding at his friend's hands. It was unexpected to say the least.

Shaking off his initial surprise, Thomas mentally shrugged his shoulders. An explanation could be found later, for now he was just excited to see that the Gryffindors apparently had the advantage, and that his friend was doing great. "KEEP IT UP, SYLVIE! Whatever it is...."

Kim's emotions were all over the place.

He didn't like this feeling of being out of control and it was Felix who had put them there.

More than anything, he just wanted to crawl under a rock and disappear. But he couldn't do that because he was supposed to be here to support Regina in her first duel.

A duel that was going well for her, which made him smile. At least he could focus on the duel for now. Maybe things would calm down. However, when Sophia called Stalker a deviant, Kim couldn't help but smirk. Finally, Sophia was calling someone else a deviant rather than him. Something that he still didn't understand, what had he done that made Sophia think he deserved to be called one? He glanced over at Sophia as she spoke about her Kim and Gem.

That was cute.

Kim felt a sense of relief when Sophia released him to stand up and go over to Felix.

But then he immediately had to look over in their direction. Because well... anything having to do with Stalker was something he wanted to know. It wasn't because he was into him, it was because... he was curious. Yes, that was it. Curious. Kim had always been curious about many things. Stalker was just one of them. Simple as that. He watched as Sophia introduced herself to Felix and waited to see how the pretty-eyed boy would respond to her nice words.

If he dared to try and smack her, Kim would go over there and smack him. But it seemed as if he didn't have anything to worry about, as Felix responded in a normal manner to her. Even civil. Kim blinked, confused. This wasn't the Stalker he usually knew. What was going on there? He blinked again and watched as Felix excused himself from Sophia's side and went to sit in the stands elsewhere. Okay, now he officially was downright confused about Stalker.

Not to mention his intentions.

When Sophia came back to him after Felix had left, Kim let his eyes flicker over her.

There was something that had been bothering him for awhile now. "Sophia. Tell me, why do you always call me a deviant? I mean, I get why Stalker would be one but why me?" Kim asked and thought about it for a few seconds. "You seem to have started to call me that ever since the ball happened. Did something happen I'm not aware of?" He regarded Sophia as the duelers waiting for the next round to begin for them. It was the best time for them to converse now. Kim could give Sophia his full attention for awhile.

Round one of the duel had ended in Gryffindor's favor for now.

Hopefully, Round 2 would also be in Gryffindor's favor. But who knew what could take place!

However, before Sophia could respond, Round 2 started and his attention was called back to the duel in progress. David seemed as if he was going to be the weaker of the two. Kim didn't think he'd last for much longer, not if the two Gryffindors kept focusing their attacks on him. Once more, David's spell went awry and almost hit his own partner. It was a shame it hadn't.

They could have teased him about that.

Regina managed to get off a Full-Body Bind Curse that hit Logan and made her topple onto the floor. Kim grinned, glad things were looking up for her and wondered how much longer it would take for the match to end in Gryffindor's favor. While Logan was down for the count, there was no one to protect the lonely badger from the hungry lions. It came as no surprise that David was taken out quickly after Logan's temporary removal from the dueling match.

Kim was pleased to see that Regina had been the one to take him out.

She really was doing an awesome job when it came to participating in her first dueling match.

He noted the spells used so far in the match and made a mental note to remember them. Later on, he'd write them down into his dueling journal that he'd picked up from Flourish and Blotts. They tended to sell journals from time to time and he'd picked up two the last time he'd gone there. One specifically for dueling spells and strategies and one for his own personal use. The latter was something he hid in a secret place that no one knew about now.

After all, he couldn't very well have anyone sneaking a peek into the contents. Kim grimaced as he saw Regina take a Curse of the Bogies spell before David got knocked out. That was one he really didn't want to ever get hit with. He had enough trouble when it came to sneezing on a regular basis when cats found him. But then again, since he was used to it, maybe it wouldn't affect him as much. Round 2 was over and Round 3 was yet to start for the duelers.

Kim took this time to glance over at Sophia, waiting for her response to his earlier words.

Sophia watched the duel with great interest, back to her original goal of taking notes on her future opponents. Realizing that her parchment was gone, she quickly retrieved it while she was greeting Felix and returned to her seat with Kim, who, for the most part, seemed content on watching the duel as well. They settled into a comfortable silence.

She readied her quill and began scribbling down the spells she saw flying. There was a healing charm she didn't recognize, but there was a lot of Flipendo and Incendio going on. She recognized a fair number of the spells she was seeing. Despite her desire to study the competition, though, Sophia's found her eyes following Kim's friend, Regina. The poor girl had it bad! Curse of the Bogies, Incendio Duo, and Flipendo? How was she still standing?

"Sophia. Tell me, why do you always call me a deviant? I mean, I get why Stalker would be one but why me? You seem to have started to call me that ever since the ball happened. Did something happen I'm not aware of?"

"Y-you know," she said with her eyes fixated on the duelists, lowering her voice to a whisper, "Actually, you probably don't."

She felt a blush creeping up her neck and panicked a bit. Was she really going to tell him how she felt? Here? Now? Like this? She steeled her resolve and folded her arms across her belly. She looked everywhere away from Kim that her eyes could find. If she looked at him now, she'd chicken out.

"So like, remember at the Ball? When you, uh, grabbed me in your arms?" she asked slowly, to prevent herself from stuttering, "Well, that, uh. It confused me."

There. That was enough. Kim was smart. He'd totally understand what she'd meant.

...whether that was good or bad, Sophia had no idea.

Sophia whispered to him.

He knew? What did that even mean?

Come to think of it, why did he care so much about what Sophia or others thought of him? Usually, he wouldn't have cared much about anyone and hadn't back in the past.

Well, other than Charlie.

He was slipping and breaking the facade he'd built up over the years.

Kim was letting people come closer to him and hadn't even realized it until now. That wasn't a good thing and it meant he could get hurt from doing so. What if Sophia and the others ended up turning on him in the end? As always, his overly active brain was now cooking up nightmare scenarios. Before, Kim never let anyone get too close to him. So if they ever betrayed him, he wouldn't feel too bad about it. But ever since Hogwarts, things had changed.

Without him even knowing.

That was scary to think about, that he could change so much and not even realize.

First there had been Sophia and Sage who he'd met on the train and struck up a relationship that he'd thought would have remained as classmates forever. Then, Juniper had been his 'mentor' of sorts for a time and he'd thought that would have remained a strictly professional relationship. Bailey had been the next one to break through his walls. Alec, Hana, Regina, Eun-ji, Stalker, Gem and Noah had come directly after, placing themselves inside his heart.

Regina and Eun-ji were the only ones who were different.

But everyone was important to him.

They made it hard for him to remain neutral. And then, there were all the others he'd met and interacted with who he looked forward to seeing again. But it wasn't all fun and games. June's family issues consumed her, which led to her being forced to transfer out of Hogwarts and Kim lost a good friend in the process. He and Draven had gotten closer because of this but it wasn't the same as being with June was. Alec had been someone on his annoyance list.

Due to their first meeting, as he'd picked on him for some reason.

And he'd kept doing it every day, until it had almost become a habit for them.

But now, it was something Kim had come to look forward to, which made him wonder if he was a slight masochist. Hana... well, their relationship was complicated. Sometimes they bickered, something they fought, sometimes they acted like best friends, sometimes they acted like brothers. It all depended on the day and their mood at the time. Regina he'd known for a long time, they were childhood friends and their parents knew eachother. Their relationship was complicated, especially with what had happened recently over the break.

Eun-ji was someone he felt like he knew, because Charlie had told him so much about her. When he'd actually met her, she was quite different from what he'd originally pictured. But he'd come to like and care for her a lot, despite this. Noah was awesome and Kim couldn't help but love how he'd created an actual newsletter with anonymous mystery writers. Sophia and Sage had dragged him into their little duo and somehow he'd become part of their group.

And then he'd met the oh-so-pretty Felix, who he'd officially named Stalker. Why? Because the boy had literally 'stalked' him for weeks on end after their first meeting, which had landed Kim in the hospital wing afterward. He'd met Gem directly after at the hospital wing and the two had struck up a friendship somehow. And then, there was Bailey, someone who shared his passion for cooking and baking. She really was a ray of sunshine and made the boy smile.

Yes, smile without thinking much about it.

Kim had let his guard down and that was not a good thing to do in his mind.

It allowed him to get hurt and taken advantage of like what had happened to him back in the past. People had a way of getting under your skin. Why did he care so much about Sophia? Enough so that he'd put his own body in harm's way to save her from potential danger. Kim didn't know what had possessed him at the time. Normally, he wouldn't be caught dead doing something like that with another person. It wasn't him and his instincts had taken control.

Which would never have happened if he'd had his guard up. When Kim had first come here, he'd thought he would be sorted into Slytherin and be able to spend his life studying, dueling and being by himself all the time. Even though he'd wanted to get into Ravenclaw, Kim knew being in a House that didn't belong to either his father or mother was not acceptable to them. Yes, he'd hoped to be in Slytherin to please his father, as he couldn't please him other ways.

After all, Kim couldn't become a great Quidditch player.

So the least he could do was get sorted into his father's House. But of course fate intervened.

It seemed intent on not letting him please his father and appeared to side with his mother instead. Kim had been able to hide his feelings well from the Hat. Even though the Hat was supposed to be able to look deep into your mind and sort you into the House you were destined to be in, it hadn't been able to see his true desires. Or else it would have placed him in Ravenclaw. Kim was the type of boy who would give up his entire life to please his parents.

Whether it be his mother or father. But Kim did feel a little guilty about fate siding with his mother over his father. Then again, at least his mother wouldn't try and punish him for not getting into her House. He hated her punishments. It was one of the reasons his trauma for cats was so huge. Back in the past, they'd tried using magic to cure his allergies. But for some reason, it hadn't worked. Apparently, there was something different about his cat allergies.

It seemed as if they couldn't be completely cured by magic or potions, which was rare.

Unless they happened to fall under the category of birth defects, which made them an exception. Yes, Kim had been paying close attention to his Transfiguration homework.

It was the one subject he had trouble understanding on a regular basis.

Not the class, just the homework.

Regardless.

Back to the duel and his issues with Sophia. Ever since the Ball, he'd been hearing Sophia keep referring to him as a deviant for some reason. It had made him curious as to why she'd use that term with him. And now, it seemed to have finally come to light, the reason. Kim blinked when Sophia said he probably didn't know, after having said he should know. That made him even more confused. As Sophia suddenly started to act nervous, he raised a brow.

She was trying not to look at him out of nowhere. Before Kim could ask what was wrong, Sophia spoke again. He tilted his head to the side when she revealed the true reason behind calling him a deviant. "Ah, that? You mean when I tried to save you from being hurt from an errant spell or being burned by hot food? I thought it was the right thing to do. There were students casting spells at eachother really close." He said.

"And some boy overturned the potluck table with a spell."

"There were lots of hot dishes on it, like soup and stew." Kim paused and looked over at her. "Would you have preferred to possibly get hit by one of them?"

He hadn't considered that particular possibility before.

Perhaps Sophia was the type of girl who wanted to show she could take care of herself.

"Sorry about that, I should have asked to make sure beforehand." Kim told her. "What about it made you confused?" He added. "Was it invading your personal space? I didn't think it would bother you too much. I won't do it again." Kim told her, trying to reassure Sophia as best he could. Perhaps this was for the best, he could try to keep his distance a bit and not be so protective over her. Maybe that was what she wanted.

And then, the next stage of the duel started and he tried to focus on what was going on up on the stage. Damn, that Hufflepuff was doing really well against two opponents.

Unfortunately, Regina didn't seem to be doing well with the Curse of the Bogies on her.

The purple haired boy shuddered. That curse was...

Well, let's just say, Kim would have rather be burned by fire or drowned in water.

Or knocked backward. The Curse of the Bogies was much too similar to a sneezing fit he tended to have when he was around cats. That or a cold, which was the point of the spell.

Still, Regina was still in the running, which made him smile a little. Don't count her out yet! With duels, it didn't matter who looked like they were winning, anyone could end up winning until one person was knocked out. Logan might end up taking both Gryffindors out, but at the same time, Regina might be the only one left standing at the end of the match. You never knew what could happen. It was a shame that Aurelia's healing spell didn't work on Regina.

Perhaps she should have focused her attention on Logan instead for now.

Then again, Regina's status was low.

Maybe trying to heal her had been a good idea. But both should probably focus all their attacks on Logan now, instead of trying to heal, that way it was more likely one of their spells would hit their opponent. Kim wanted to see Logan go down. Not that he had anything against the girl but this was a duel and he was rooting for Regina and his House. Obviously, he didn't want the opposing side to win! Plus, the other House happened to belong to Stalker.

He couldn't let his House win.

"Ah, that? You mean when I tried to save you from being hurt from an errant spell or being burned by hot food? I thought it was the right thing to do. There were students casting spells at eachother really close. And some boy overturned the potluck table with a spell. There were lots of hot dishes on it, like soup and stew."

Well, he definitely remembered the night. And he hadn't wavered from his explanation that he was protecting her from flying chaos, but part of Sophia had wanted to believe that maybe there was something there, but he was genuinely just trying to be a good friend. Sophia felt shameful, but Kim still didn't understand what she was trying to say.

"There's... more to it than that," she said with a frown, watching the duellists intensely. Her heart pummeled the inside of her chest like a drum, and she couldn't find the words she needed. Even if she could, her mouth felt too dry to say it.

"Would you have preferred to possibly get hit by one of them?"

Sophia flinched. What kind of a weirdo did Kim think she was? She knew Catholic girls had a reputation for being masochists, but why on God's green earth would she want to be hit by flying food? It made no sense.

Kim kept talking, unaware of her inner confusion.

"What about it made you confused? Was it invading your personal space? I didn't think it would bother you too much. I won't do it again."

Sophia huffed in frustration. He was completely missing the point! Were all boys this dense, or was she just very bad at talking about her feelings? Maybe a mix of both? She groaned and leaned her head on his shoulder. She didn't care about appearances at this point, she was getting annoyed with the whole situation.

"No, it wasn't about my personal space," she said with a pout. With her reddened cheeks hotter than ever, she forced herself to let it out, "It'sbecauseI'velikedyousincetheBallincidentandIdon'tknowhowtodealwithit!"

It was the fastest she'd ever spoken before, and her old speech therapist would be proud, but the content of her sentence is what bothered her. She'd done it. She'd finally confessed after a month, but part of her knew that she didn't stand a chance. She finally lifted her head from Kim's shoulder and looked straight into his eyes, which was a monumental task for her.

Smiling sadly, she said, "But you like Felix, don't you?"

It made sense. Kim's flushed expression. Felix's similar expression. It was exactly the same as her when she was with Kim, or, well, her when she interacted with her friend. There were feelings there, whether Kim wanted to admit it or not. Sophia could certainly understand not wanting to admit your own feelings. She'd taken almost a month to properly understand her crush on him.

"Just picturing you holding him like he held you the other day makes my chest hurt, but I want you to be happy, Kim. Even if it's not with me," she said with a sinking feeling in her heart, "But you're always my friend, and I love you either way."

Kim was quite invested in the duel.

Now that Regina was in a precarious position, he didn't want to miss a single spell.

But thinking about the word 'deviant' was distracting him a little. Every time there was a pause in the duel, his mind would drift back to that dangerous word Sophia used for him.

The last thing he wanted was for the word 'deviant' to spread about him throughout the castle. Rumors had a tendency to find their way to everyone at some point in time, even the higher-years. If that happened, it could totally ruin both his and his family's reputation and might even lead to him getting transferred out of Hogwarts and sent to another school. This was why he didn't like making 'friends' because 'friends' could stab you in the back at times.

Sometimes it was intentional and other times it was unintentional.

With Sophia it would 100% be the latter. She wouldn't intentionally cause harm to him.

But if she kept referring to him as a deviant every time when she was with him....

It literally would be her fault if he ended up getting transferred. Hopefully, it wouldn't come down to something like this. But Kim wasn't sure if she would stop calling him a deviant or not in public. It wasn't up to him. He was drawn from his dark thoughts when Sophia spoke again, muttering something about how there was more to it than what he'd said before. What was it? She was being vague and Kim didn't get it, what exactly did Sophia mean right now?

As she groaned and leaned her head on his shoulder, Kim looked down at her. Sophia then seemed to gather herself together and then ended up spilling the beans. All of them.

Even though she'd run her words together, he heard them.

Kim's lips parted, his attention completely taken from the duel, and stared down at her.

Thankfully, the duel had paused, so Kim wasn't missing anything at the time. For a moment, he didn't know how to respond and blinked. And then, Sophia raised her head and looked him in the eyes as he gazed at her, still not sure what to say in response. That is, until she said he liked Felix. Immediately, Kim's brain turned to mush and his spirit began to escape him.

He found himself stammering again. "W-what are you t-talking about?! Who s-said anything about liking that pretty boy?!" Kim exclaimed, trying to control his heartrate. He instinctively glanced over at where Felix was currently seated, apparently ignoring them. Kim didn't know what to say or think right now. Everything was jumbled up inside his mind, all because of what Sophia had said. And also her own feelings for him...what...she...Stalker...

Sophia started talking about 'the incident' and Kim couldn't help but fantasize.

The thought of Felix being in his arms made his breathing quicken again. If he'd protected Felix from errant spells and hot food from spilling onto him. If he'd held Felix in his arms and if said spells and food had hit him instead of Felix... would he be able to gaze down into those beautiful molten chocolate eyes again? Would those pretty eyes gaze up at him and would their owner smile at him? Shit, he was feeling faint. And then Kim returned to the present.

For the first time, Kim was at a loss as to what to say to Sophia.

Duel Spectating, Gryffindor vs. Hufflepuff
Saturday, April 30th . Morning Slot
@Willow Anderson @Alan Vanes

Flash would continue to keep spectating as one of his last remaining joys in life. He arrived for only one match on this day, late in the morning along with everyone else, wearing his eyepatch. He did not have the energy to follow the games of everyone, and he had a much bigger roster planned on the next day, when Bridget and Eun-ji would be playing on separate slots. If only all the people he was most interested in seeing would be taking place at the same time... but that seemed impossible, with the houses being divided to fight one another. Regardless, this meant his full attention was on Willow, and Willow alone.

He knew how frustrating dueling had been for her, and what a learning curve it was, but he also knew she was trying her hardest, and that she needed love and support. That meant today, he would be cheering her on despite any set-backs, and would help her heal if she faced another crushing defeat. The poor girl was up against Alan this round, of all people. And while he had not seen many of his friend's matches, he knew Alan was a well practiced and smart spellcaster, due to the games he fought with him in SWAG. Now that he and Alan ran SWAG together, he also got to see a bit how Alan's mind worked, and the creativity and motivation he brought along with him.

He was paired with a younger student, but so was Willow. The opposing team would start with a powerful offensive right away, targeting the younger girl. The poor thing was pelted with two attacks, unable to cast her own spell. Flash would watch Willow's reaction, but was glad to see her optimism was still in tact. More waves of attacks came, but Willow would heal her ward, and the girl would recover and land a hit of her own. This was tough, the Gryffindor team was likely much healthier than the Hufflepuffs, so the tactic of overwhelming them with force was likely to work.

"You've got this, Willow!" Flash would shout encouragement, though it was hard to say if the fact he was always watching her matches was encouraging or not.
OOC note: I cannot do a play-by-play of all of Flash's reactions to the match, but I wanted to place him as a witness. Closed to interactions.
