• Where were they raised?

Welwyn Garden City, which is about an hour north of London. That's where the Salinger family has always lived.

• Is their family wealthy? Poor? Comfortable?

Fairly wealthy; both of her parents come from successful pureblood lines. She's not filthy rich, but certainly has never had to worry about money in any way, shape, or form.

• How do they feel about that?

She honestly doesn't know much else. You know how, sometimes, upper-middle-class or super-rich kids will sort of be oblivious to monetary plights of others? That's how Aly is right now, though I have a feeling that'll change.

• Did they have a happy childhood?

"Lonely" is probably more of the right word. Aly has no siblings and both of her parents are married to their work, so she spent a lot of her childhood being raised by her family house-elves, Dinny and Becca. She didn't really have any friends til she came to Hogwarts. And she has always disagreed with her overly strict mother on a fair number of things, taking more after her father, which has caused some familial strife in the past.

• Before their Hogwarts letter, what was their most influential life event? Good or bad.

Aly's whole life led up to Hogwarts, honestly. She worked on learning in preparation for learning at Hogwarts. She dreamt of getting her wand, being Sorted, making friends, living out a real life instead of constantly staying in the Salinger manor. Her most influential life event, other than her first brush with magic making flowers bloom at age five, was probably the retiring of her house-elf Dinny when she was nine; she misses him horribly.

• What is their favorite clothing style?

She mostly just wears comfy sweaters and skirts - when she isn't wearing her beloved Hogwarts uniform, that is.

Quidditch counts, right? She's also dabbled in Exploding Snap and wizard's chess with her dad.

Mostly oldies rock - her music taste comes from her father, who grew up on the Weird Sisters. But she'll listen to about anything and give it a try!

If it's a book, Aly will read it.

Herbology, though it's closely followed by Flying.

Aly hasn't travelled much, but she does love her broomstick - a much-beloved Silver Arrow. The train, the Hogwarts Express in particular, is also quite fun ... she loves watching the countryside roll by. If Aly were to ever find herself on a boat, she would love it, but we're not quite there yet.

• Is there a broom they want? If they already have their favorite, what makes it great?

She loves her Silver Arrow because it's carried her to two Quidditch victories so far. Honestly, she'd love any broom as long as she got to fly it ... she's not picky and just loves the good memories that come with the broomstick rather than the broomstick itself.

• What do they look for in a friend?

Aly will be friends with just about anyone as long as they're not outright mean. Even the most standoffish of people can find themselves melted by her Charmer ability, because Aly Salinger could make friends with a brick wall. She particularly enjoys friends who enjoy spending time with her and make efforts to include her in things, and loves loyalty and things in common, but above all else, Aly wants to be able to learn from her friends. If they have something to teach her, she'll happily sit down and learn.

• What would your character see in the Mirror of Erised?

Herself as she is now, with nothing unchanged, but with her proud mother behind her.

• What is their strongest trait? (Feel free to list two or three)

Aly is whip-smart and loyal to a fault. Once you're a friend, you're a friend for life.

• Who do they admire most?

Her best friend, Dealla. (@Dealla Prince ) Dee does so much - Duelling Captain, prefect, etc. - and Aly lives half in fear of her capabilities and half in awe. On top of it all, Dee is just simply a sweet person, and despite the fact that Dee is younger than Aly, Aly wants to be just like her when she grows up.

• Is there someone they wish they could meet?

Does the whole world count? In all seriousness, the historical figures that Aly looks up to most are probably Phyllida Spore and Dilys Derwent - two powerful women, Headmistresses of Hogwarts, one a Healer and the other a Herbologist. Aly has no ambition to someday be a Headmistress, but she certainly loves to see successful women proving to her that she can do the things she wants to do someday.

• Are they typically underestimated (in strength, intelligence, maturity, etc)?

Aly's pretty short and slight, so sometimes she's not seen as athletic. And while it's true she's not very strong, she is fast and nimble, and works hard to be the Keeper her team deserves. Also, because of her inordinate love for flowers, she's sometimes underestimated in subjects that aren't Herbology because she's known more as the "flower girl" of her year. But she's smart in other ways, too!

• What do they like about themselves?

Aly's favourite quality of hers is her boundless friendliness and optimism. Sure, she can get pretty anxious sometimes a lot, but she loves to make friends and talk to people and always tries to look on the bright side. It's a great quality to have, in her opinion.

You can't go wrong with "You can do this!" It's a little reminder to herself that she's stronger than people think, and she can, in fact, do whatever she puts her mind to.

Leeds, England. Technically outside of the city, but I say in Leeds.

Comfortable. Not super rich but they could Afford sending Bailey on a train to London 2 to 5 times a week for Taekwondo classes, along with Homeschooling.

Bailey absolutely loved her childhood and would change none of it.

Yes. Bailey and her family got along and every loved each other so it was great.

Her most influential moment was when she received her third degree black belt, and her ceremonial sword. She was the youngest person at her Dojo to do so at only the age of 9.

Casual, but slightly dressy.

Not really. Not growing up with friends from school Bailey didn’t go to sleepovers and play games and such there. She would probably say tag or hide and seek with her brothers.

No. Bailey’s least favorite class is flying and she will NEVER do quidditch or broom racing.

Bailey does not care about her friends; she would like them to be nice, but if they aren’t when they meet Bailey will soften them into a nicer person.

Probably Professor Minerva McGonagall. She really admired what she did.

IC character wise, Bailey would love to meet everyone. She wants to talk to a few of the mischievous pranksters because she honestly doesn’t get why they play pranks.

yes in strength. She is a 3rd degree black belt but not many people expect a Ravenclaw to be strong.

their positivity and way to make people feel comfortable.

Rita is born and raised in London, England by muggle Chinese parents who migrated to London to find better jobs. She went to a muggle primary school before being accepted by Hogwarts.

Rita's family is somewhere between middle class and upper middle class. It is a comfortable family of four with supportive architect parents, a adorable brother 7 years younger than Rita, and Rita herself.

• How do they feel about that?

Rita feels grateful for her family to have a decent economic condition which can support her education and other decisions.

Rita's childhood is somewhat happy because although her parents are fairly strict and has high expections on her, they are also supportive of her decisions, and value the time for the whole family to get together and have fun.

Maybe the time when her brother was born when she was seven. The birth of her brother has a huge influence on the whole family, and it teaches Rita to be a more responsible elder sister.

Rita does not have a style… She just goes for whatever comfortable and looks good on her.

Probably mafia and Truth or Dare.

Pop, rap, old songs, R&B, piano pieces, light music, and classical? Rita's song choice depends on her mood.

Fiction, especially classics, like The Great Gatsby, Wuthering Heights, David Copperfield, and Little Women. Poems and drama(especially Shakespeare) are also her favorites.

Literature and Chemistry in muggle school, and Herbology in Hogwarts.

She purchased a Shooting Star, and likes it because it is affordable and friendly to beginners.

She spend some quality time with her family, with her best friends around.

Her curiosity, kindness and care for others, and ability to think beyond her age.

Her father, who came from a village, graduated from a prestigious college, and becomes a manager of a nationwide architectural company, at the same time a loving and supportive dad.

Her long-lost friend Charles from muggle primary school.

Her ability to think beyond her age, and reflect on her actions and feelings.

Her love and care for people around her, her ability to reflect on her actions and keep making progress.

In London at his family house, he never really got to spend too much time in the muggle part of london due to them always traveling to the wizarding areas.

Efelion’s family was comfortable, both of his parents have well-established jobs that helped them live reasonable lives.

• How do they feel about that?

Efelion never paid too much attention to the woes of the adult world, a comfortable life meant he was almost oblivious to the fact that currency was even a thing that was a problem for others. Once he realised Efelion would constantly beg his parents to help off the less fortunate..

• Did they have a happy childhood?

Efelion’s childhood was a mix of good and bad, His parents knew that he would be sent to Hogwarts in their heart so he was homeschooled. He had a few friends from his childhood that would visit sometimes however these friends were more, the children of his parent’s friends and weren’t really well connected with effy that made it hard for him to really get along well with them.

• Before their Hogwarts letter, what was their most influential life event? Good or bad.

One day when Efelion and his father were in the forests during a camping weekend Efelion fell off a ledge, not too far but enough that he was unable to climb back up. He was with his father at the time and when Efelion thought that things were going terribly wrong his father was able to save him from the isolated area he had fallen. This made Efelion see his father as a hero in his eyes.

Efelion loves muggle clothing although he rarely ever gets to go get some as his family never really take him out into muggle london. Usually the boy can be found wearing baggy jeans and a bright colored shirt with a graphic on it.

Efelion doesn’t own any games that he can really play and doesn’t really have any friends to play them with so he has his Skateboard instead which takes up most of his free time.

Efelion listens to whatever he can find on his rare trips out in the muggle world, from electronic songs to random punk bands.

Efelion’s Favourite books are that of Non-Fiction, he loves learning about the world around him.

Defence Against the Dark Arts as he has always had the vision of becoming an Auror since he first learnt about them through his mother’s work.

Efelion is often underestimate in his wit because he often keeps quiet at times but can be quite the banterous type if allowed to feel comfortable with the person.

Comfortable. Her mother grows and sells magical herbs, her father has a typical muggle office job.

Fine- she was a little jealous of some cousins who were more well off as a younger child, but as she got older she no longer felt that way.

Yes- her parents were always very kind and loving, though she was homeschooled and a bit sheltered.

Her older brother leaving for hogwarts when she was five- and every summer when he would come home she would bombard him with questions.

Comfortable- she prefers warm colors as they compliment her hair and warm skin tone, but as for actual style she doesn't care much as long as it feels nice.

She likes wizard chess in theory but it's always been too confusing for her.

Something "soft" sounding (think Hozier), though some pop or dance music can catch her ears occasionally.

Very specifically, survival stories, like someone getting lost in the wilderness and having to find a way to survive.

Maggie is inexplicably drawn to people who are intelligent and often more introverted than herself, whether subconsciously or not. Maybe it’s that they balance one another out.

Probably herself surrounded by cheering, adoring fans. Maybe the undivided attention and care of someone who loves her most.

Likely her self-preservation and selfishness, or her humor.

In maturity and intelligence, for sure. Maybe people are right to underestimate her, honestly. People assume that she doesn’t have any real feelings because she has a hard time with emotions.

Colin Second Year

• Where were you raised?

I was born and raised in the middle of the northern Highlands. On some muggle maps the place is called Loch Meadie, but few ever find it!

• Is your family wealthy? Poor? Comfortable?

I reckon my family must be rather comfortable. Maybe even well to do.

• How do you feel about that?

Well, I'm neither wealthy nor well to do! I've got a bit of money from the school stipend a couple changes of clothes, a broom, a fiddle and a few odds and ends.

• Did you have a happy childhood?

Aye! Twas great! My brothers and sisters and cousins and me had the run of the castle as well as miles of the best land in Scotland!

• Before your Hogwarts letter, what was your most influential life event? Good or bad.

Surely that was the birth of Ciarán, my little sister! I can't wait for her to start at Hoggys!

• What is your favorite clothing style?

People probably think I'm lame. Look at me, I've worn the same kind of kilt and loose shirt since I was wee! I don't often wear shoes. I never even heard the word 'fashion' until I got here, and still don't see the point in it!

• Do you have any favorite game(s)?

Well, we like playing card and board games, and my Da and uncles have this brilliant D&D setup! Outside, we play footie and camanacht and race horses and brooms!

• What sort of music do you like?

We most often listen to I suppose what muggles would call 'classical' music? We play a lot music too, sometimes for dancing, sometimes for entertainment.

• What's your favorite book genre?

I love faeries stories and high fantasy, so the likes of MacDonald and Morris and Tolkien and Scott. Those I reckon are the more famous!

I really like astronomy; then probably dark arts and charms.

Whoa! I like fast brooms and learned how to drive a motor car this summer before second year! So, yeah, I life fast motor cars too!

I've got a Silver Arrow from the racing team, and I'm happy with that!

I look for someone I can trust. You know. Secrets and stuff that should be kept quiet?

Um. Whoa. I haven't seen the mirror yet! But, I reckon I'd see Liam. He was my twin.

• What are your strongest two or three traits?

I've got a good sense for choosing friends. I do well in school and like to study on my own, so I'm pretty smart. I've met a really smart and beautiful girl. I want to marry her some day! I think we'll make a pretty good pair and she's definitely a strength!

• Who do you admire most?

I admire my Da's brother, my Uncle Colin most. He fought in the War; fought for Harry. Da did too, and I admire him as well! Uncle Colin died in the War, and Da named me after him. I'm very proud of that!

• Is there someone you wish you could meet?

Of course, I wish I could meet him, my Uncle Colin! I'd also like to meet that Tom Riddle and give him a piece of my mind!

• Are you typically underestimated in strength, intelligence, maturity, etc?

Some folks are actually surprised that I'm not actually the immature git they think I am!

• What do you like about yourself?

I'm kind of coming to like that I was sorted into Slytherin. Da and Uncle Colin were both Ravenclaws, Liam was Ravenclaw...It's kind of hard to admit, but I think I fit Slytherin pretty well after all.

• Do you have a motto, mantra, or favorite quote?

Aye. My motto --- or epitaph, really --- is "He was a Snake who would fly with Eagles."

• Where were they raised?

Riley was born in Milton Keynes and raised there the first four years of her life before her family moved to London where she stayed the rest of her childhood

• Is their family wealthy? Poor? Comfortable?

Her family is fairly wealthy but unused spent money would be sent off to charity by hosting balls and other events

• How do they feel about that?

Riley is fairly content with her life and she loves being able to help others out

• Did they have a happy childhood?

Riley is an only child but she was rather saddened when her parents were too busy to spend time with her. She was most happy with her house elf called Lez who would do anything to try cheer up his mistress. Riley grew up happy with art and Lez, family wise Riley was more close with her mother who often worked from home and taught Riley about flowers and plants.

• Before their Hogwarts letter, what was their most influential life event? Good or bad.

It was a little of both, good because it was her first show of magic but bad because it had wrecked her room. Riley was eight when she first showed her wandless magic incident, she was so frustrated from her lack of creativity whilst looking at a canvas, that the pots of paint around her exploded colors around her room and onto herself. Her room had to be renovated and she had to have a long bath but luckily for her it had her favorite bubbles.

• What is their favorite clothing style?

Turtlenecks! Riley loves turtlenecks and would wear them whenever she could, she also likes jackets with fluffy insides.

She likes to play Gobstones against Lez and would always feel happy if she won.

She likes classical music, it sparks her creativity.

Car, train or boat. Anything grounded, she hates heights.

She'd prefer not to fly but a broom she likes the look of is the Comet 260.

She hasn't had a look but if she was she may find herself in artistic clothes with awards for being a great artist. If not a wall of academic achievements behind her.

Riley is known to be resourceful, loyal and honest to those she trusts and considers friends.

• Who do they admire most?

Riley doesn't do much for admiration but she does look up to be like her parents and help all those in need.

Riley wished she could meet Newt Scamander, she would have a lot of questions for him about certain magical beasts she's interested in.

She is underestimated in her intelligence sometimes but she is a very smart student.

Riley likes her creative mind and she'd always use it by making new paintings, coming up with events with her father or helping her mother come up with new flower and plant arrangements.
