The students and guests would start to arrive, Orion would greet each of them upon their entry. He was pleased that Draven seemed to be taking to his punishment quite well, if he didn't know any better he would have assumed the kid was enjoying it. He just assumed he was putting on an act and trying to play the part he had been given.
Orion had tried to get the right size, but he had forgotten just how tiny Hanako was. Ah well, he'd live. The point was that this experience was at least embarrassing for them. It seemed he was a natural performer, however, as he quickly got into the swing of things. Damn, this kid was either really into serving others or he was finding a way to mock Orion. The Frenchman didn't really care enough to figure out which was which. The lanky cat sitting on his desk stirred when Hanako begin to talk. She hopped down, landing on her feet before slinking over to the boy. Sitting down directly in front of him, the Midnight Stalker's stare would remain unwavering. It seemed she had decided Hanako was her prey.
As for Burnett, truthfully he had gotten caught in the crossfire... Quite literally too, it would seem. The professor hadn't slept a wink the night before and had decided to just punish the whole lot of them. Jack was causing a disturbance, however, so in his eyes he deserved it. "Didn't know the food was laced with forgetfulness potion, Burnett. The sooner you stop complaining and get to work, the quicker the time will pass."
He would leave his new butlers to serve the guests and focus on grading homework instead. He didn't bother to glance up from the pile of papers until Erin Ryan had entered the classroom. Huh, weird, he didn't take her for the tea party type.
She was carrying a package, one that she would bring towards Orion. She addressed him as 'Mr. Professor', which almost caused him to laugh. She likely did not remember his surname, it was not an easy one to remember. "Hello, Miss Ryan. You can just call me Orion if that is easier for you." He was never one for formalities anyways.
He quirked a brow at first when she mentioned the package being for him, until he remembered what family the girl belonged to. There was a sudden shift in his behaviour, his face falling into a neutral expression as his shield went up. "I see." If a student paid close enough attention, it might have been obvious that this package was not a pleasant gift exchange.
He stood to accept the box, but one of his students was quick to offer to take it off Erin's hands. The professor's eye twitched in annoyance. Really? The Slytherin butler would struggle to hold the damn thing, as if his arms were mere noodles (Hanako requested a roll to see if he is able to carry the package, so I have done so).

The package turned out to be too much for him to handle, and he dropped the thing onto the floor. Orion grit his teeth, reaching into his pocket to withdraw his wand. "Wingardium Leviosa." He cast, guiding the package over to his desk before dropping it. "Perhaps you should stick to pouring tea, Mr. Tone. You are welcome to stay, Miss Ryan." He sounded distant as his eyes drifted back over to the package, his face relaxing into a neutral expression once more.

After his entrance, the room started filling out, which made the atmosphere a bit more like that of an actual tea party. Flash would smile and nod at Clair as she introduced herself, and follow the forms of Burnett and Hanako as they moved about. Erin entered as well, looking far more healthy than she used to. She seemed to have arrived on other business, and it wouldn't evade his attention that she mentioned her uncle. Given Hess' mention of relation to her, he wondered who else she was related to. However, his conversation was with Draven, to whom he returned his full attention once he had finished checking each guest.
"Thank you, the pleasure is all mine." Flash's smile would be wide and genuine, not expecting the added benefit of someone actually being thoughful and polite with him. "I'm sure you'll be invaluable. And yes, please, I would love a cup."
There was plenty to pay attention to, foremost Hanako's falmboyant change. He'd spout such flowery language that Flash would laugh out loud, though quietly and behind one of his hands for the illusion of propriety. By now, the detention had already gifted his with the sight of Burnett in a butler's uniform, and Hanako making an ass of himself, so his heart was filled. Once he had some hot tea with which to sip and observe, he'd be completely in his element.
However, it peeved him that no matter how many times his eyes drifted to Burnett, he seemed to be looking away. What fun was it if they didn't get to play as well? Instead, he and Hanako were hovering around the new girl, though he supposed it wasn't unusual that they would avoid the person who was obviously enjoying their torment.
"You haven't given me your name. If I may ask, what exactly landed you three in detention? Burnett insists he doesn't belong." Though there were undoubtably more guests on the way, Flash would take the fact that he was being attended to and run with it. He was curious after all, as always.

| ─── | "I don't know about invaluable," Draven laughed, pouring the older boy's tea with a steady hand. It was a practiced movement, one that spoke of a lifetime spent with tutors that taught how to act and move and think and speak. "But I'll never miss a practice." At least that he could promise. He wasn't the fastest flier, nor the most skilled chaser. But training beat talent. He hoped. Draven wiped away the excess tea on the nozzle of the kettle, straightening up after Flash's cup had been filled with amber liquid. "I'm Draven." He said. Not Draven Mirador. Draven.
His gaze flitted over to where Burnett was once again a little too close to a first year. A muscle twitched in his cheek. "Jack and I had a misunderstanding," he smiled, turning away from the scarred boy. "I promise my presence here doesn't reflect my attitude towards the team." That, and he'd leave his wand in the dorm while they were playing. He didn't think properly when he was angry, didn't have as much control over his actions as he would have liked. If history was a good indicator of what happened when Draven lost his cool, he needed to remove all the objects which would make a bad mistake worse. |

Interacting With: @Hanako Tone Outfit: ꕤ (minus the suspenders)
Mentioning: @Levi Drakos | @Flash Holmwood | @Clair Fernandez | @Erin Ryan | @Jack Burnett | @Draven Mirador Date: February 19th, 2022
Those who knew Winnie Harper might have noticed the outfit she wore that day was drastically different than her usual floral and pastel pink palette. For starters, the girl was wearing trousers. They were high waisted, tan in hue, and the cuffs were tucked beneath the pair of knee-high leather boots she often wore on the Quidditch pitch. The top she wore was also a rather simple number; an open collared button up shirt that she had tucked into her pants. To top the outfit off, she had managed to pin her long red locks into a loose bun at the top of her head.
If her own mother saw her from behind, she wouldn't have known it was Winnie, but this was the point, to blend into her surroundings. It was hard to go into stealth mode when your closet looked like it was inspired by cotton candy. Truthfully she had spent the past few days following Levi Drakos. Mathias had sent him a howler that went... Erm, above and beyond it's normal functions. It had made out with the boy. Since he had also sent her a break-up howler, she was quick to assume that Levi was the cause of Matt's sudden change of heart, so she had been spying on him in hopes of uncovering the truth.
But it had gotten her nowhere.
The last tea party she had attended had resulted in the loss of her relationship. She needed a break, a distraction from the torment that was her shattered heart. The pieces were still too sharp for her to try and rearrange them, to fix what had been broken. They sliced her fingers into thin ribbons and rendered her useless.
Despite her experience at the Valentine's event, tea still sounded nice, so did stuffed animals. She had shoved the stuffed goat her brother had given her for her birthday into her satchel bag. His name was Mr. GOAT, which of course stood for Mister Greatest of All Time.
As she entered the room, she assessed her surroundings and the guests. Flash was always good company, a younger Ravenclaw girl she had not had the pleasure of meeting yet (Clair), a very beautiful blonde girl who looked to be older than her (Erin), and three guys dressed like butlers. The first she thought she had seen her friend Cain hanging around (Draven) so he must have been a first year. The second was a very handsome redhead who seemed oddly familiar, but she could not quite place him (Jack), and the final butler soured her mood instantly.
It was that one rude guy she had the displeasure of interacting with over summer break. She couldn't remember his actual name, only that he tended to shell out nicknames to everyone he met. That was why he was called 'Mr. Nickname' (Hanako). He had embarrassed her in front of Santario and Levi, so obviously that meant she would hate the boy forever.
Despite her displeasure, karma decided to bestow a gift upon her; she watched as the guy struggled to carry what seemed like a rather light box. Ah, what a glorious sight, it was one she would remember for years to come. Or at least whenever she remembered Nickname's dumb face. She walked past the boy, purposefully attempting to bump into his shoulder. "Oh dear... Did I break you? It's a miracle you're able to stand on two feet with the noodles you have for muscles, Nickname. Are you even capable of lifting a teapot?"

| "The box weighs more than him," Erin announced in Hanako's defense. Why did she defend him? Well, simple. He invited her and that never happens. Therefore until she had reason, he was a superficial ally. The box would fall to the floor, whatever it was, it seemed sturdy enough. She did not open the package even if repairing the wrapping would likely be child's play. Uncle Taddeus always knew when someone stepped out of line. There was a difference between fear and self-preservation, she lacked the former but did possess enough sense for the later. The Professor-man would take the heavy package and Erin would nod, watching the mysterious burden float from the floor to the man's hands. Orion he claimed. "Like the stars?" Not that she expected an answer from the Professor, she frowned in fact when she realized that she was likely going to regret this exchange at a later time. A problem for future her of course as she accepted his invitation. "Thank you Profess -- Orion," she corrected herself. She fiddled with the tassel on her hoodie as she eyed the space. She was interested primarily in where the windows where, there would be none as it was subterranean logically but she looked all the same. Where were the doors in relation to the furnishings. She would pick a seat, if there was an unoccupied seat of course. If there were no spare seats or the one nearest the door was occupied, she would sit in that patron's lap. She was not going to eat any of the food, it was probably poisoned. If she knew Orion well enough, she would likely be more certain rather than assured otherwise. |

If she were to choose one thing she hated, it would be a tea party. So when she heard of one, she wanted to crush and ruin it by hand. How dare they be happy when she was not? There were so many people in the room, including the one person who couldn’t keep her hands to herself back in the disastrous tea sipping ceremony. She would glance at Erin with the most despicable look. “Sorry I’m late” Aurora entered the room looking messy. Her eyes are puffy, hair was unkempt, she was a total mess. “As you all can see, I have been crying and I hate boys”
She was clearly out of her mind, blinded by fury caused by none other than the Gryffindor Racing captain, Nicholas Mcmyheartbleed. He was her first absolutely not love and first heartbreak. Imagine the trauma of a kid who got rejected in front of the whole school to watch like a live soap opera. Never would she recover from such a thing. And now there she was, hosting a Hogwarts ted talk, but full of hatred, by yours truly. “You know what I hate about them? They are SO unpredictable!” She treated the whole detention as a support group filled with people who were willing to listen, that by itself was a torture. “They said they want to be with you, then they kissed you, then they said ‘stay the f away from me’ like WHAT IS HAPPENING?” The heartache was fresh, baked in a beautiful pie, tasted as bitter as the words that swirled around his tongue.
If anyone would interrupt, she would hush them dramatically. “Before you all say it was all my fault, I swear I brushed my teeth, and my breath didn't stink! So it wasn’t my fault!” But then she thought to herself. Nicholas did say something about her cupcakes. Perhaps she did throw something in it, lucifur’s furs might be in it, mixed with the glitters and whatever toppings she put. “Or is it? He said something about cupcakes, like ‘what did you put in the cupcakes’ and I was like ‘what?’ Then he left! And I bet you are all the same So I hate you all” Her gaze locked on to everyone with male energy. She was a character straight out of a horror film. Whilst some don’t fear her, some might say her presence was truly terrible.

The Three Snake Butlers
At Dray's sickeningly saccharine smiles and subtle threat disguised as a polite warning, Jack blinked. So that was the sort of person Draven Mirador was, was he? Like Captain James Hook who, Jack recalled reading, was most dangerous when he was most polite. It was the first year's use of his first name that really ellicited a rise out of the redhead, however.
"Oh, are we on a first-name basis now? Not even my roommate calls me that and he's my - " His eyes darted to Flash briefly and back again. "- my friend." His thick brows rose. "Or are you just feeling that much closer to me now that we've..." he paused for a moment with a wicked grin, allowing Draven to imagine the end of his sentence before finishing, "...got detention together?"
He listened to Draven and Flash exchange pleasantries, tempted to stick his tongue out at them but willing himself strongly to refrain from doing so. He was going to be on his best behavior. He just needed to take deep breaths. Deep breaths that were snorted out with stiffled laughter upon seeing Hanako in his ill-fitting suit. The Japanese boy was doing to Orion's pet cat what Jack had only just resisted doing a moment before.
Oh, Hanako. How would he get through this detention with a lack of self-discipline like that? Soon, Jack wasn't the only one taking deep breaths to try to maintain his composure. Jack felt sorry for Hanako and wondered if he wasn't to blame for the other boy's detention. His dormmate had given him his green jacket to wear after his shirt had been burned at the Valentine's tea party, after all. He owed Hanako a favor.
Just as he was planning to apologize to his fellow third year, however, Hanako took it upon himself to one-up Jack and be an even better butler to Clair than Jack was. The Welsh boy stared for a minute, wondering what had come over his previously-fuming dormmate. Well, if Hanako was going to take care of Clair, then Jack could go elsewhere, he supposed. He wasn't there to compete.
Unfortunately, the only other 'guest' in the room to tend to thus far was Erin Ryan and Jack didn't know how he felt about that. Hanako seemed to, though. As if trying to out-do Jack yet again, he politely excused himself from Clair's company to go over to Erin and offer to take her burden off her hands. His efforts to carry the far-too-heavy package caused Jack to snicker involuntarily behind a hand, but those snickers ceased immediately when he realized Hanako was inviting Erin to stay for the tea party. Worse than that, Erin accepted.
Why was everyone giving him those obviously fake, warm, evil smiles today? Did Hanako blame him for his detention? Was he angry at him like Draven was? Jack supposed he couldn't blame them if they were, but this was quickly getting out of hand. He flashed Hanako a dark look. Then he adopted a countenance of calm servitude as he pulled out a chair for Erin to sit in. "Miss Ryan, would you care to have a seat?"
Jack heard Orion's advice about complaining and getting to work but chose not to respond aside from a single nod. He didn't want the teacher to think he was back-talking, after all. Soon, however, Flash's and Draven's conversation reached his ears and the line of his mouth twitched, itching to get in on it. In a moment he was drifitng back toward them, teapot in hand as if he needed to refill the tea Draven had just poured for Flash.
"I don't belong," he insisted with a soft hiss, butting into the discussion. "Mirador here and I...well, like he said, we had a misunderstanding," Jack continued in a near-whisper, offering Draven a cold smile of his own, "But Professor Lécuyer over there was so sore that we made a scene at his precious Sweethearts Tea Party that he just decided to assign us all detention. Nevermind that Mirador set me on fire."
Not much later, Winnie Harper showed up. Jack wasn't sure whether to feel relieved or nervous. She was the one person he had told who he had a crush on and she had seemed to respect his secret. One never knew when one could accidentally let something slip, though. He smiled when he caught her eye, but she gave him a funny look before moving on. Maybe her mind was elsewhere? It must have been with the way she treated Hanako immediately after. Had she just called him 'Nickname'? Jack would have to get the story behind that later.
And then a second-year girl who Jack didn't know came in. She announced she had been crying and that she hated boys and Jack wondered what she was doing there if that was the case. Evidently, it was to hold the whole room captive while she angrily ranted about why she hated boys. Jack swallowed hard. This was...not what he had expected when he'd been assigned detention. Was this still part of the professor's plan to make them suffer? Because it was insanely genius if so.
"...The cupcakes were poisoned with love potion," Jack said matter-of-factly when the girl finally seemed to finish. "If you don't believe me, just ask Tone, there." He gestured with his teapot to Hanako. "He knows."

The Three Snake Butlers
“Oh, me. No this” Hanako was equally confused as she was, but held back on asking further. It seemed that he wouldn’t have time to ponder on frivolous things because the next thing he knew, the show box was now entrusted into his twig-like arms. Genuinely shocked by the weight, he momentarily broke out of character and let out a small yelp as the box seemed to drag him down along with it. Fortunately, it was mere inches from the ground before Hanako inserted all of his remaining strength just to bring it back up again. What the hell was in this thing??? A dead body?! 1000 bricks?! Erin looked in far better shape than Hanako did, but was she really that strong to carry this?!?
He attempted to hug the horrendous package with all his might, his arms already beginning to feel the effects of his lack of muscle-building exercises. He was a duelist what on earth would he need to use physical strength to do anything?!
Just as he was getting used to the unbearable pain of carrying this package, Erin had the audacity to call this ‘some Hufflepuff thing’. Literally, the worst thing you could call a Slytherin. But as Tamaki Suoh didn’t care for such things, he merely showed a weak smile, much too preoccupied with this insufferable package. “ The plushies are just one of the many valued guests we have here miss..Erin” Not the time to ask for last names. “ I’m confident our other actual living guests and host- erm I mean butlers, would be a wonderful conversationalist for you” he attempted to assure her, but it was getting difficult to have a smile on your face when you feel like you’re arms are about to fall off.
It seemed like his assurance wasn’t needed because she had agreed to stay! Ah, the powers of being a top host with 70% of request rates. “ Nonsense nonsense~” it was easier to smile now that she was staying, but he had begun wobbling here and there with the package hugged tightly. “No guest of ours is a mistake. Certainly, not ones as charming are you” Perhaps it was because he almost dropped the parcel about 5 times now, but he seemed to misunderstand Erin’s words, thinking she was calling her presence a mistake and not him inviting her here. All he knew about her was that she screamed a lot, and broke up with Jack after she had been fooled by him. The specifics of how the break-up went down remains a mystery, and probably for the best.
"Just be careful with the box, break his things and you end up in the dark place."
![]()
Say what now? He bit back a sarcastic response. Something along the lines of ‘he couldn’t be in a darker place than the present moment’ , but as Hanako died and was replaced with Tamaki, he let out a forced laugh. “ Oh, such a joker, you are~ What an interesting sense of humor you have!” Nevertheless, Hanako did hug the parcel tighter than before. He was merely pretending to be in an anime of a bunch of charming hosts, he wasn’t actually seeking out a 1million debt as the main character did. Erin had done enough to convince him whatever was in here was precious enough.
He was about to continue on serving Erin and leading her to her seat until he noticed a four-legged beast approaching him with malice in its eyes. Unable to fake his lack of adoration for cats, he stepped back away the more the cat came closer. “ H-hey shoo shoo! Get away from me before I-” he scrunched his nose in an attempt to conceal his upcoming sneeze. And ultimately failing.
While it felt good to let it out, he was too busy covering his nose to realize his arms felt lighter now. Fear spread across his face and he dreaded looking down to see the aftermath of the package. Seeing it float itself all fine and in one piece allowed him to breathe once more.
"Perhaps you should stick to pouring tea, Mr. Tone. You are welcome to stay, Miss Ryan."
In the shock of having a mini heart attack just seconds ago, Hanako merely stared blankly at the Professor for a few good seconds. He opened his mouth ready to break character and call him an old man with fiery snaps at his cat being the main problem in this and not Hana’s twig arms before someone else spoke up before him.
"The box weighs more than him,"
While it was not the more favorable defense, it did Hanako good by reminding him he had a character to play. A character that wouldn’t go ballistic on the existence of cats. While he personally thought he didn’t need anyone to make excuses for him, he was at least thankful to Erin for saying something before he did. Which would’ve possibly caused another detention. He wouldnt put it past the Professor to suggest a cat cafe next.
“ Thank you, Miss Erin “ he said so gently relaxed now that he could feel his arms working again. “ He is not wrong. I am only regretful that I do not possess the physical capabilities of handling that package for you as I said I would. My apologies “ he gave her a slight bow apologetically as if he cared. Damnit, a warning would’ve been nice, Erin.
It wasn’t long until another challenge tested his patience. A new familiar face arrived in the room and before Hanako would hide his scowl or welcome her as he intended to, she had decided she was going to show just how much she liked him by bumping into his shoulder (auto-hit because i said so). Which by the way- Ow?!?! His arms just survived that horrendous box and now his shoulders are attacked? Hanako took one of the deepest breaths he had in a while and showed her a charming smile after he composed himself.
“If it is the teapot that would be serving you tea that brings a beautiful smile to your face, then I would do my utmost best to do so, honored guest~” he bowed, a comforting smile growing on his face as he imagined how good it would feel to burn her hair. “ Welcome to the Teddy Bear Tea Party, dear valued guest. My name is Hanako Tone” he emphasized on his name. “ And I’m one of the people who will be serving you today. I would be delighted to show you a wonderful time at this party. The same goes for your fuzzy friend if you have one to accompany you today” he glanced down towards the satchel she carried, hoping she wouldn't pull out a shoebox from it. “ May I know your name so I know what beautiful name to call an equally beautiful guest such as yourself?”
Yea, that's right. He’s going to pretend not to know her. Well, he still didn’t know her name as the nickname he gave her a summer ago seemed perfectly suitable. But since she clearly didn’t forget their summer, Hanako was morally obliged (as Tamaki or not) to piss her off by doing the opposite. He had yet to take his revenge on being embarrassed in front of Percival by this noisy screeching red-haired girl. What better time than now?
He was going to turn his attention to Erin and gesture her to take a seat before Jack beat him to it. Which was fine, honestly. It was getting rather crowded here. Hanako was feeling drained from talking so nicely. It was a shame Jack didn’t react negatively as he hoped. He seemed more adaptable to the situation than Hanako thought. Priorly, he assumed Jack would be the noisiest about the situation. Having put in here unfairly and all. Hanako could understand that. But Hanako was also in a bad mood so everyone was an enemy (cat included) until further notice.
It was then that another guest appeared with a rather… explosive entrance. He was so shocked and mildly terrified by her screaming that he almost forgot who she wait. Wasn’t she… the girl who hurt his pride and ran away from him during their spin-the-bottle game?! Hanako sent a quick look at the Professor suspiciously. Surely, he couldn’t know that amount of detail in his students personal love life? Ewwwwwww what an old creeeeeppp. Creep or not, he certainly knew how to make this detention more painful than it needed to be.
“W-welcome to-”
“Before you all say it was all my fault, I swear I brushed my teeth, and my breath didn't stink! So it wasn’t my fault!”
If Hana was still holding the parcel, he would’ve dropped it again from fright. Merely listening to her ramble on even more in silence.
"...The cupcakes were poisoned with love potion," Jack, seemingly less affected by her screeching responded to the screeching guest and gestured with his teapot to Hanako. "He knows."
“ Who me?” Hanako pretends to be innocent, debating his next words. Well it was true the cupcakes were laced and he was a victim of it. Being reminded of the… puke-inducing things he said to Jack sent chills down his spine. What a horrible memory. But what was Jack doing reminding him of that and even putting him on the spot! They could’ve pretended it never happened as they did the first time it happened! What were they? Mature boys, that could communicate healthily? Nawh. He was tempted to feign innocence and put the attention back on Jack. But unfortunately, he did recall Jack trying to make the best of the situation. Leading a love-crazed Hana out of the ballroom before he could do something embarrassing like propose to Jack in front of everyone. He never had the chance to thank him, frankly because he didn’t want to. But he supposed he deserved some appreciation for his actions. “ He’s … right. “He admitted clearly reluctant to do so.
“ Whoever that um..boy you’re talking about is- perhaps the influence of those cupcakes explained his mood swings. If you want to scream at anyone…” he innocently pointed a finger towards old man Orion. “ scream at him. He was one of the people in charge of the event. He's the boy-est of them all”.
This could get him in more trouble, but he was confident enough to guess that his words did have truth in them. Plus, he’d be damned if he needed to explain just exactly how he knew he was under a love potion. Not in front of Flash of all people, my god. “ Or..alternatively you can…” he gestured towards the many chairs still available to be sat on. “ rest your melodious voice for now by sipping on nice non-love potion laced tea? Holmwood can demonstrate if you’re not too sure” his cup seemed to be the very few that’s actually filled, so he can be a great test hamster. “Doesn’t it feel nicer to yell after you’re refreshed and hydrated?”
Clearly, the girl was in distress. His usual host/butler welcomes would not work on her. Hopefully, she wouldn’t recognize him under this oversized tux and nice smiles and just accept his offer to chill the hell out.

He turned back to Strawberries, failing to relax knowing that she too could scream until his ears bleed. But alas, he was a host that could still share a smile, fake or not. “ Would you like me to do the honors of pouring tea for you? Or perhaps you'd want me to carry that satchel ?” While doing so he kept an eye on the cat, making sure it was at least a few good feet away from him.

Interacting: @Erin Ryan, @Jack Burnett,@Aurora Ranvier, @Winnie Harper
Mentioning: @Flash Holmwood, @Draven Mirador, @Orion the Old Man, and the @dratted cat
Action:
-chatting with guests, mainly focusing on Winnie for now. Pretending to not know Winnie and Aurora. Throwing Orion under the buss.
-Hana died from stress, and he is now an empty husk of nothingness with his body taken over by Tamaki Suoh . Due to this do note his usual sarcastic/singsongy/mocking tone is nowhere to be seen today.

| ─── | Draven had inherited his mother's temper. The horrible twisting in his stomach, the gradual darkening of his vision until Burnett was the only thing he could focus on. His hands had turned white on the teapot. He set it down before he could ruin the other's suit. Orion had known what he was doing, demanding they placed their wands on the desk.
"I'm not here to fight with you." Draven retorted, swallowing past the desire to repeat their heated interaction where there was no one to save Burnett. He didn't need another detention, and he certainly didn't need it to be given out in front of Holmwood. His spot on the quidditch team was more important than drawing blood. For a brief moment Draven pictured Burnett's head snapping backwards, his lip splitting, a howl of pain escaping the shorter boy. No. Don't do that. He took a step backwards, disguising it as picking up a nearby tray towered high with sweets. "I'm not sure why you have such an affinity for people who are younger than you," Dray said adjusting his grip on the tray, "but you should get it checked out." Straightening up, he gave Holmwood one last polite smile, inclining his head in the other's direction. "If you'll excuse me." He walked away. Taking the long way around to avoid passing by Burnett, least one of them would get hurt. The red hot anger had risen from the pit of his stomach to his throat, wrapping around his lungs on the way there and squeezing down. It wasn't fair. That Juni was gone, and he was still there. That she was somewhere on the other side of the world, and Burnett was still jeering at him. "Ms Ranvier, I presume?" He said, forcing the words out. He'd found himself by her side, setting the tray of sweets out of her sight. Last thing the poor girl needed was more fear of being poisoned. "May I take your coat?" he'd pulled out the chair at one of the nearby tables for her to sit. She needed a cup of coffee and a shower. Perhaps a hairbrush as well. He couldn't say he judged her. After Juni had disappeared, he'd spent the majority of his Easter break lying in his bed, staring at the celling. "I wouldn't eat any of Mr. Lécuyer's food," he frowned, eyes flitting in the professor's direction. "But I think the tea is safe. Would you like a cup?" |

The Three Snake Butlers
![]() ========================
| She almost broke poor Hanako Tone. His noodle arms were meant to be carrying chocolates, maybe flowers but certainly not secrets. “ The plushies are just one of the many valued guests we have here miss..Erin” She looked over at the plushies. Their soulless eyes rather similar to the hosts butlers. "Yeah, but..." this is definitely a Hufflepuff thing. “I’m confident our other actual living guests and host- erm I mean butlers, would be a wonderful conversationalist for you”[/b] Not that Hufflepuff huggy crap was a deal-breaker, it was not as if she was allergic to affection. Rather, it was a foreign entity to her. Their hollow, smiling expressions and empty hearts was much more the custom. One can wrap misery in all sorts of colors, with glitter, ribbons and bows but it does not change the content. He seemed to struggle, she should have saved him but he never asked for help and his word choices emanated no plea but rather a guise of civility. Odd, but she went along with it. she had no sense for danger, but she did presume that this was some sort of ruse and that she was intended to be somehow disappointed but jokes on them... she had no expectations of anyone. She did what she wanted, lived how she wanted and well, she was not here to impress anyone. Still she warned Tone just in case. About the dark place. “Oh, such a joker, you are~ What an interesting sense of humor you have!” |
The box weighed more than him. And was 'safe' more importantly.
She would feel the heat come off him but it would not match the words, the posture or the tone. “Thank you, Miss Erin“ a lie. Not that it mattered, civil discourse was mostly pomp and circumstance with very literal real interaction. “He is not wrong. I am only regretful that I do not possess the physical capabilities of handling that package for you as I said I would. My apologies.“
She did not care, he was just being weird. Of course she never saw Ouran Host Club, unlike the writer. She would not understand the role he was playing or the concept of being 'charming.' Of course, lies were charming as she well knew. Jack was at one time rather charming. Shame it was lies. Hanako's pride already injured, he moved on to a new red head. Keeping them moving, always moving along. A chatty one at the very least she supposed.
Aurora Ranvier would enter into the room taking the role of 'hot mess' from Erin. Well, at least the 'mess' part. She would go on about unpredictable boys and how she hated them all. Boys did suck, she would give the girl that but wasn't she the one snogging the cardboard cutout of a man, Nicholas McCowan? She looked different, probably the puffy eyes, lack of make-up and loss of a hair brush that was to blame. "Did you kiss back?" Erin asked with all the seriousness one would have given the concern over littering in the Great Hall. Have you picked up the garbage, a rather obvious and simple answer. "He is totally into you," she continued haphazardly with a wave of her hand and a shrug as she moved her attention elsewhere. She would drag his scrawny ass over to the weird, loud girl later.
She would approach a nearby chair, in fact Jack Burnett would pull it for her. She would give pause to the encounter. Weird, is there something wrong with the chair? She wondered, that latent sense of paranoia enduring still. "Miss Ryan, would you care to have a seat?" Some stranger's lap safe for another day, sorry to disappoint folks.
"Name's Erin in case you forgot," she replied to the use of her surname. If he had, that was fine. All she had was a hazy recollection of him tainted by madness and fear. Like the warm smiles and empty eyes that surrounded her, not unlike every encounter truly since everyone was a liar, there was no expectation for legitimate human contact or conversation. Still, he could have pretended that they were at one point something. Not strangers barely worth recognizing. Of course, why dwell... she understood her significance or rather lack thereof.
There was but one point of interest during the entire dialogue. Not with her of course but with others around her. Between Jack and Aurora "...The cupcakes were poisoned with love potion," the type that really did not create a sense of ardor but rather carnal intent. For some one could suppose, a physical expression and a hollow proclamation was enough. If they lied long enough to themselves they could be deluded into thinking that they had some value, that they were valued. That some hollow sentiment that they misjudged for affection was anything more than cheap want. "If you don't believe me, just ask Tone, there." Again with the surnames. Hanako did technically share the same dorm as her even if they shared nothing else from year to interests to even friends. "He knows."
“He’s … right.“ Hanako confirmed.
"Shame, should have eaten one," Erin commented. Would have been a welcome change from this perpetual apathy. Too late now, she poked at one of the stuffed animals with an extended finger curiously. Was it alive? Would it move? No.
“Whoever that um..boy you’re talking about is- perhaps the influence of those cupcakes explained his mood swings. If you want to scream at anyone…” he pointed at the Professor. It was not an astonishing accusation really, she had long thought that the Professors were altering their perception, assisting or being complicit in terrible evils. It basically fed her presumptions, she did not need evidence to support the assumption. “Scream at him. He was one of the people in charge of the event. He's the boy-est of them all.” Of course, if he worked for Erin's uncle, Hanako had just dug his own grave with those statements. He was a dead one walking.
"Bad plan, bad plan..." Erin warned. she did not seem distressed, this was her distress look one could suppose. She knew something terrible was about to transpire but she was not capable of having a physical or an emotional response to it. No fight or flight cascade for her. "Orion is a scary man," she announced. Yes, she used the first name he granted her permission to use. While some insisted on just using last names not as a sign of respect but rather something else entirely she was content to use first names when offered. Unless they were hard to say that is.
“Or..alternatively you can…” Hanako was distracted. He would carry on with the ladies, being the chatterbox gentleman that someone probably needed.
"So the tea is safe?" She eyed Flash. "Are you going to make out with someone in here? Are you about to die. How many heads does Jack have? Who is the Headmaster? Do you remember your own name?"
Just a trick of the lighting they said...
