An affectionate smile plagued the Ravenclaws face as she, almost with added force, lead her date through the courtyard and down to the bonfire below. She didn't turn around to check if her date was still behind her, as her attention was focused on the roaring flames playing with each other in front of her.

The bonfire intrigued her immensely but, although not the hardest task to achieve for this certain girl, it also scared her. It wasn't a frightful sensation, but one of unknowing and inexperience. Back home, with her father of at work until stupid hours and her mother taking on way too many odd jobs than she could handle, Faye was often alone, alone with no experience of how to start a fire or even turn on a radiator. She'd often resort to as many blankets as she could find in the rooms that weren't locked (later on she had taught herself how to pick locks, just for that reason), but, as Faye found out, it is very difficult to walk around with four fluffy blankets draped around you like a cape.

However, the brief times when her mother was home to light a fire, the little girl would go into fight or flight mode, hiding behind a cushion as if the fire would come for her. The unpredictable nature of the flames was just so wrong for her, and it would take her a long time to get comfortable with the flickering sparks. It was only a few times, but every time the house was engulfed with warmth from the fireplace, it would take less and less time for the girl to get comfortable with the sensation.

But now, accompanied by a girl who seemed to be like the fire, an unpredictable spirit whom she cherished, the fear didn't set itself as deeply as it would. Instead, Faye's eyes would wander towards said girl, investigative irises taking in every single feature of Regina's face. Her orchid eyes, her nose, her lips, (okay don't linger to long there, keep yourself together), her hair. Every little nook and cranny was investigated thoroughly.

After she was satisfied with her date's visage, her satisfied, cheerful smile would slowly but indefinitely melt into a hollow, almost sad, expression, as if she was realising something, what she was realising, though, was unknown. Ghosts of tears tried to make their way to her eyes, but she denied them entry. She did not want anything else ruining her night, especially from her.

Golden flecks of something illuminated in Faye's eyes, as she tried to put on a smile, desperate to fix things.

Judith was thinking, she wasn't really sure which animal she'd choose. She liked cats, but that would probably not be the animal she'd choose. As she looked around she tried to find some inspiration for which animal she'd choose, but at the end the online one she'd come up with was a cat. "I'd go with a cat, I know it's really lame and as sure not as cool as a Wolf, or dragon or anything like that, but i like cat they're sweet and sometimes even mysterious!" she said.

As she grabbed some materials to start crafting the masks, she looked over at Hunter, seeing how he was doing. "I'm actually not too good at crafting haha, i never really did it before. Obviously, i did crafting at school, but that was it, i was mostly to occupied with other studies or languages or things like that. " She said while colouring her masks. "do you miss home, sometimes? I do, i enjoy it here, for sure! i love it! but sometimes, having your family around, or very trust once just makes you feel more comfortable and safer you know?" she asked Hunter. She didn't want to go too personal, but she felt like at some point, it was a good thing to discuss. Family was after all super important.

Charles hung in the back, conversing and joking with his friends. Watching the night unfold. Leaning his arm on Drew's shoulder, the sweat from the butterbeer dripping onto his hand. The blonde eyed the area. This felt normal, fun even and there was yet any danger or disaster. Maybe a good memory from a ball could be possible?

"Aidmitted to defeat, Ro? Or did you sign up to a game, either way I'll beat you," Charles spoke with a sly smile enjoying their banter as he felt the flickering flames attract him. Gesturing toward the effigy as he spoke"care to join? I'm going to jump jnto flames to put a flammable object in them." Charles smiled as he winked at rhe group then ran over to the effigy.

Climbing inside. Smaller tnan expected. Charles brushed out his blonde curles, flames engulfed the area. Flickering of red and orange against the darkening skies. Charles took a pen and parchment, tap it once as he thought on whay to write before connecting pen to paper.

I wish to bring honor to durmstrang in the hexwizard tournament and also that my friends stay safe

A nod. Charles flick the paper into the flames then climbed out. Exiting the area. A lool back. He scoff it away, part of him not believing that a wish could ckme true but there is another part there... another feeling... emotion...

Charles shook the thoughts away, he needed a distraction. A way to keep his sanity as he looked over, smiled a little as he remembered that good fight his fellow Durmstrangs started in the hall. Well who said that it could only stay in one area...

Lining up his target. A Hogwarts student. Charles aimed then threw the glass of butterbeer for the unexpecting student, plate in hand as he wondered who to throw that at next.

The green-haired Wix exited the effigy and then decided to mingle around since it wasn't like they had any friends to chat with.

And then it all seemed to happen in a split second while also in slow motion, Jay saw something from the corner of their eye and turned. The next thing they knew, butterbeer seeped through their skirt, and the glass mug was in their hands which was now sticky from the butterbeer residue. What?! the fourth year was flabbergasted, all they had been doing was minding their own business! Jay looked up at the small clique not too far off from them, they immediately recognized them as students from the other schools.

"What in the bloody hell?!" they exclaimed, throwing the glass mug with as much force as they could toward the group.

If they had been Hogwarts students Jay wouldn't have been as furious as they were now, you could never know the intentions of outsiders. You never knew if they were all about fight or play. Jay didn't exactly know who to aim at so they threw the mug blindly. If they didn't miss and hit someone, they would very much not take the blame for broken glass. One of them threw first!

I’m back. Jay or Deplorable ooc. Owls open for threads.

signing up for firewalking, making a flaming torch,
putting a wish in the effergy, attempting to wrench Charles' pasta from him

"Thank you!" Cassie responded to Ro's assurances regarding her jacket. As Charles said, there were probably magic spells that could clean the thing if needed - in fact, there were definitely cleaning spells - but it would be easier for everyone (especially Charles) if it stayed in its pristine silver glory.

The banter between Charles and Ro - whose accent and fast words might have made her hard to understand if it weren't for Cassie having already gotten used to them - made Cassie laugh. "I'd say he was trying to impress his boyfriend," Cassie teased, "Only he's somewhere over the Channel so I don't think he can see you." Cassie had been surprised when she'd realised that Xeno wasn't coming to Hogwarts with them, but she couldn't do anything about it. She barely spoke to Charles' boyfriend at school anyway.

Perhaps as revenge for the teasing, Charles proposed a bet. Cassie, though, wasn't so sure. "Five galleons?!" she repeated, incredulous. Though she could surely win, of course, she wasn't going to put five galleons on the line. That was- oh no. Now, Cassie had to do maths to work out the conversions. One galleon was five pounds, so five galleons was twenty-five pounds, and in euros that was... Cassie gave up. Juggling three currencies was a pain. Why couldn't everyone just use the same one? It would make everything so much easier! "I'll do one galleon." Cassie compromised. "And I'll sign up for the firewalking one." Finding the sign-up sheet, Cassie then did just that.

When she heard Drew's voice, Cassie stopped walking and turned to wait for him. She couldn't help a laugh at his outfit. He was dressed entirely in black, complete with a leather jacket and fingerless gloves. "You look awesome!" She grinned as Drew spun around like a model on the catwalk, showing off his clothes. "All the colours really suit you." Charles apparently didn't agree though, which made Cassie frown. "And when do I ever wear eyeliner? He looks great, shut up."

Cassie wasn't expecting anyone to approach their group, but someone did anyway. One of Charles' Durmstrang friends came over and spoke in Russian to the boy. Cassie vaguely recognised her. Oh! This girl had been on Charles' side when the angry Durmstrangs had ganged up on the just-as-angry Ilvermorny kids. What was her name? Fin? The Beauxbatons girl didn't have to wonder for long, though, because 'Fin' turned round and introduced herself. Apparently, her name wasn't Fin after all. "Cassie." No point going through the this-is-my-name speech for someone she'd probably never talk to again. "It's fine." Usually, Cassie was one to hold a grudge, but right now she just... couldn't be bothered. Charles checked whether it was okay for Hailey to tag along with them and Cassie shrugged her agreement. "Sure." As long as they didn't join in on the food fight which was raging in another corner of the Hall, Cassie was fine with Hailey coming along.

"Preferably ones without judges," Cassie said when Drew wondered what the activities would be. "I'm still not over the Talent Show." Ro hadn't been at the Blossomball a year ago, so Cassie explained, directing her words to the Koldovstoretz girl. "Me and Scar did the Macarena, but the joke version 'cos we don't speak Spanish. Apollo dude - the judge - he said it was insulting to the songwriter and didn't give us the point." Cassie rolled her eyes. "This is the same guy who put Armorentia in the punch" - hence why Cassie now always made sure to bring a water bottle with her to Hogwarts events - "so he couldn't really talk about not being insulting."

As with the previous two outdoor balls, Hogwarts' grounds had been transformed into a scene that implied something more than a school dance. Honestly, when Cassie compared the lavish beauty of her own Philosopher's-Stone-funded school and the no-expenses-spared appearance of Hogwarts castle with her experience in two nice - but no more than 'nice' - primary schools, she sometimes marveled at the luck she must have to even be here. If it wasn't for a random fluke (or perhaps divine intervention), Cassie would be living an ordinary life at an ordinary school in a small village outside of Paris. It was magical moments like this that really drove the point home. "Wow," Cassie said as she looked around. The only worrying thing was the amount of fire, but as she drew closer to the massive bonfire she soon realised that it was magical and harmless. It still made her hand almost painfully hot when she scooped up a bundle of sticks and set the top on fire, though.

"Yes!" The Beauxbatons broomracer was nothing if not enthusiastic at Charles' suggestion. Waved her new flaming torch around in one hand and munching on her remaining kebab, which was held in her other hand, Cassie contemplated the giant wooden structure. And then she realised what it was. "See, Charlie! I told you there'd be a dragon!" Maybe this effergy wasn't the real thing, but it was still cool!

When Charles tried to put a shoulder on her head, she ducked. "You have knobbly elbows," she protested through a mouthful of food, and finished off her kebab as the others talked. Then, with a "hold my torch!" to Ro (if Ro didn't take it, Cassie would lean it against her own leg), she took off her backpack and slipped the two kebab sticks into it before swinging it over her shoulders again and reclaiming the torch. "C'mon!" Cassie encouraged her friends, hurrying after Charles towards the dragon.

The sign said you were supposed to write down hopes and dreams. Cassie found the wording a little cheesy, but figured it was a nice idea. But what were her hopes and dreams? As she squeezed into the walkway which lead into the dragon's body (making sure to hold her torch low enough that it didn't set everything on fire all around her), Cassie pondered the question, squinting into the wooden structure's inner workings. Finally, she decided, and wrote down on the paper that had been left out, "I wish to be selected as Beauxbatons' Triwizard Champion." Maybe it would come true, maybe it wouldn't. Cassie would have to wait and see. In fact, she remembered as she exited, the announcement would be happening soon. They had to go back inside so they could find out who the Champions were.

But then she saw what had happened. Cassie had barely left the effergy when she saw Charles launch a glass of some sort of liquid at an unsuspecting person with cool green hair whom Cassie didn't recognise. "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?!" she gasped out in alarm as the other kid retaliated, throwing the glass back in what was surely Charles' general direction. Cassie, Drew, and Ro hadn't done anything, so why would they aim at them? "WHY is your first instinct ALWAYS to START A FIGHT?!" Yup, Cassie was really and truly angry now. Not punchy-angry, but the sort of angry that comes with someone you trust doing something stupid or ruining something important to you. Cassie was all for a food fight, but not one that might descend into fists or wands at any moment. Tucking her torch under one arm, she grabbed Charles' plate of pasta, which was probably his next ammunition, with both hands and attempted to wrench it out of his grip. "We're gonna miss the Champions reveal because of you," she hissed. She didn't care much about Charles' victim's dress - they could always clean it - but now they'd missed the announcement there was no un-missing it.

River graciously accepted his hand to begin his dance, and so they spent some time chatting and dancing about the courtyard near the group of minstrels. As they danced, she asked him if he played any sports. He sighed, still unsure of his choice to switch from Broom Racing to Quidditch, but the team had desperately needed him, so switch he had done. "Yes, I do, I currently play on the Quidditch team as a Seeker, but I must say, my heart lies with Broom Racing." He paused to twirl her around for a moment before continuing, "Theres something more dangerous about Broom Racing, more hmmm... daring, you know? Racing through trees and tunnels, Quidditch is just an open field, no?" He would then go in for a light dip, finally ending with, "Don't get me wrong, it has been fun playing Quidditch, at least being Seeker is more of a challenge than the other roles, but still." His eyes widened a moment, realizing he had been droning on and on about sports, which tended to happen when anyone brought it up.

"Ah, apologies, Miss Fayre, you caught me talking about my passions. It's hard to stop once I get going. Do you have a favorite sport?" he asked. She at least had her own broom, which meant she had to be interested in at least something. They would continue dancing as she answered back, and, once she was done and the latest song had ended, he would take a step back to bow to her.

"Well, Miss Fayre, I do believe they will be crowning the Champion's shortly, would you like to go back inside to see?" This was something that he simply could not miss, his heart just would not let him. River agreed, and so the two set out back into the castle, Florian hoping that he would be selected.

River smiled, "It's ok, once one gets on the topic they so love, they are expected to find it hard to stop, I do the same for Maps"
She thought for a moment, "Well, Broom Racing looks fun, but I do think Quidditch looks much more fun, I used to play it in my village, well a sort of style of it. Once I was sent off to Beauxbatons I thought about joining a sport, but any of the ones I liked were taken, and I knew it had to be a broom sport, so Dueling was out of the question."
She thought some more, "But yes Broom Racing would be fun, with all it's daring things."
Maybe she would have joined Broom Racing, but aside from the fact that most the spots had been filled, if her Mother and Father heard about her little games of danger on a broom they'd find their way to her school and most likely take away her broom and make sure she never got to ride it again, which was not want she wanted, she felt like they'd do the same thing for the Tournament if she was chosen.

"Oui Yes I'd love to." She agreed and followed Florian back inside.

Hunter placed on his new mask (Anubis) and held onto the flower crown he had just weaved in his hands. Paying close attention to Judith, Hunter sneakily snatched the crimson rose he gave to Judith from her hair. He tried his best to avoid disturbing her hair, and just gain the flower. Looking back at his unfinished flower crown, he weaved the vibrant crimson rose to finish it. With both the mask and flower crown finished, Hunter felt rather accomplished. To where he even had a slight smirk on his face. Also, his confidence didn't feel like it was diminishing anymore. It seems a mask to hide behind was very helpful for Hunter to cope with his anxiety a bit more. However, he couldn't wear his yellow-tinted glasses for the rest of the time he was to wear the mask. Hunter's glasses weren't a prescription, in fact, his vision was perfectly fine and as great as an Eagles. The issue was he wore his glasses way too often. For Hunter, the world not having a tiny slight hue of yellow was odd for him. In fact, he felt slightly delirious and sometimes felt pain in his eyes when that slight hue faded away. If he was to wear his glasses for another year, it could develop into permanent damage to his eyes for all he knows.

Nonetheless, Hunter smiled to get to see everything in their more natural colors. Judith's dress, hair, eyes, and overall look were much more sprightly than he was expecting. Hunter couldn't help but blush a little, but luckily that red face of his was hidden beneath his mask: "A cat doesn't sound bad at all. I think it sounds rather fun since I'm taking the appearance opposite of a cat,"Hunter couldn't help but gleefully chuckle from the thought that essentially a cat and a dog have danced and spent the blossom ball together.

Hunter listened to Judith, complimenting her skills and rejecting any efforts she had on mocking her dance or crafting skills. The only time Hunter hesitated was her question about family. Hunter had to give it thought as he listened to Judith talk: "Of course I do. I sometimes feel uncomfortable being in the common room around my own housemates. So yeah, I do miss home. I only have my mother and grandma back at home. My dad is usually traveling a lot. I don't even know where he is by now..." Hunter's voice became a lot quieter at this point. A hint of sadness and regret could be heard in it, but he didn't want to worsen the mood, "A-actually I-I am glad to have come to Hogwarts. I just learned I have a distant cousin who comes here, ever met Ms. Ashwood?" Hunter swiftly changed the mood to be a bit brighter and still focused on family. "What about you Judith? Are you also missing everyone at home? Or even have family here too? Oh! In fact, what was school like before Hogwarts?" Hunter's curiosity had piqued up again. He looked at Judith with masked eyes of question. He himself was homeschooled and didn't even know what schools before coming to Hogwarts were like.

He'd listen with great interest to Judith's response and still support her in mask crafting. Once she finished her mask (if she did), he'd place the colorful light-blue mixed crown with a single bright red rose on her head. He would then proceed to ask if Judith would like to check on the dragon effigy together in their new bestial forms.
Action: Interacting with @Judith Cohen. Placed a flower crown upon her head and offered to check on the dragon effigy together. Permission to slightly god mode Hunter granted to Judith Cohen

Mentioning | his angsty situation
As Drew approached his friends, he saw Cassie signing up for something. He didn't really look at it, but trusted Cassie's judgement, and did the same. [Drew signs up for the firewalking obstacle course]

Drew crossed his arms as the first thing Charles said as he approached was in a language he didn't know. "Merlin, that comment was so useful," Drew said, a tone of sarcasm in his voice accompanied by an eye roll. Cassie did take a moment to actually appreciate his outfit which he had so carefully put together for the evening, and Drew smiled. "Thank you, Cassie." He looked pointedly at Charles as he said, "And in a language I understand, too. How kind of you, Cassie." Failing to smother a grin, Drew looked away, surveying his surroundings.

That's when somebody walked up to them. A redhead. She didn't seem to notice him and Cassie at first, having only eyes for her fellow Durmstrang student. She said something in Russian. She then turned to Cassie, introducing herself as Hailey Farin. Okay, it was obvious she didn't know he existed yet. That definitely had to change. "I'm Drew," he said, giving a small wave towards the girl. "I don't think we've met yet, but I'm also a friend of Charles." As Charles made sure that Hailey's company was alright with them, he said, "Fine with me."

Drew laughed at the memory of the Macarena last year. "Oh, that was definitely an interesting act in the Talent Show." He nudged Charles a little bit. "Remember our act? I still love that song," he said, a hint of mischief in his eye. "We kicked butt, didn't, we, partner in crime?"

Oh, memories. He had gone through a lot with Charles, hadn't he?

They entered the outside portion. There was sure a lot of fire out here, wasn't there? He knew that the general population of Hogwarts had some kind of problem with fire. At some point, a common room had been set on fire. And there always seemed to be some kind of fire at these events. This time, a raging bonfire. And a dragon to go with it.

Charles made a joke about Drew not flirting with any of the girls in the group. Drew scoffed and laughed. "You know me, just swaggering around flirting with every single girl I see," he said. He winked dramatically in Cassie's direction, saying, "I hope you know CPR, because you just took my breath away." It was clear he was not actually flirting with Cassie, just a crude impression of it to poke a little fun at Charles' joke. Charles then started up some banter between him and Rosella, blowing an air kiss. Drew rolled his eyes and smirked at his friend.

Then Charles suggested they go inside the dragon and express their hopes and dreams inside. Drew shrugged. Why not?

What even were his hopes and dreams? As both Charles and Cassie took their turns, Drew stared blankly at the paper.
I want everything to go back to how it was.
Simple enough. It wasn't specific, but not everybody needed to know that what Drew wanted more than anything was for his parents to come back. For them to be not guilty. For someone out there to be wrong about them, and let them come back home. For them to be one big happy family again. He went in the dragon to place down his piece of paper inside the dragon, then came out.

He exited the effigy to see Charles attacking a random student.

"What in Merlin's-" he started, but quickly stepped back as the student retaliated, throwing back the glass at them. Drew put his hands up in front of him, looking defensive and like he didn't know what was going on. Probably because... he didn't. What was happening? He looked questioningly at Charles. "What...?"

𝕽egina felt her spirit burn like the flames in front of her, reminding her of how she liked to compare herself to the element of fire--such was also the reason her favourite spell was Incendio and she planned to make it become her symbol, her trademark. The ravenette turned to face her young date, staring into Faye's shining eyes with such intensity as though she was gazing into her soul. Though her expression was neutral, there was a certain softness in those orchid purple irises that Regina hoped it was enough to convey her unspoken feelings toward Faye.

"There is something I must tell you," She began. "I am not sure whether or not you are aware of what exactly does the Hexwizard Tournament entails, but...I still wish for you to know that I have casted my name with hopes to be chosen as Hogwarts' Champion."

The Gryffindor paused, swallowing slightly to think about the right words. She clenched and unclenched her fists, wanting to reach out to the other girl but dared not to because of hesitation and uncertainty. She wasn't used to this, speaking her emotions and trusting somebody with them. But for Faye, she would always make an exception.

"It will be dangerous, and there is always a chance I may brush with death because of how dangerous the tournament is, but I must do this. For my pride and to prove myself to my family, especially to my unloving and hubristic father. This is incredibly important to me, so I hope...you will support me."

Regina omitted the fact that she'd written Faye's name as her special person entirely. There was no telling how the red-haired Ravenclaw would react. She didn't want to ruin their friendship that had barely founded only because of Faye's insistent stubbornness. Their bond was extremely dear to her and she wouldn't do or say anything to break it. But Regina was bold enough to allow the tiniest bit of hopefulness to filter through her usually cold eyes. She wanted to trust Faye with this much, at the very least.

"I would be incredibly grateful and happy if you do. And I want you to come with me to the effigy so I am able to write a wish for my victory."
