And so here he was. Hadashi Hitoshi, attending a ball in Scotland. Hogwarts certainly did know how to decorate.
Though... Hadashi was unsure if he would be able to get used to the celebration attire that was on display here. Kimonos always looked so delightful, and he had taken considerable measures to get this one for the ball. Along with a pair of pants that would fit. The bottom was ocean, and his top had the waves.
And of course, the zori sandals. Zori was the easiest to walk in; There was NO chance he was wearing geta. He had never understood how in the world anyone could walk in those. To him, it looked like wearing those sandals were asking for an ankle injury.
It was then that Hadashi realized that this was... rather unlike the festivals in Japan. To start with, there were a lot less drunk people. Most festivals he had seen had sake involved at some degree or another.
In addition, many people appeared to be together. Hadashi briefly lamented that he had yet to find someone, but he was patient. He wasn't going to start a relationship for the sake of having one, like some others he knew. Perhaps he could simply find someone to hang around with?
But this place was rather crowded...
Then he saw signups for games. He could only find two, strangely. Every festival in Japan had multiple games, certainly more than two. Perhaps the focus was to be somewhere else? He did not know.
He decided to look at them, and maybe pick one to sign up for. He didn't have a date, so what did he have better to do? He wasn't going to be the rule-enforcing Interpol agent this time. This was a festival. A time to have fun. Not follow rules all the time. Hm... Perhaps he would see if he could find someone from his school... Narumi-kun, perhaps? While he enjoyed Shimizu's company, he had no doubt that he would be even more awkward than Hadashi was.
Upon arriving to the signups, he saw what they were. Flying Torch Tag, the description of which was flying on a broom to-
NOPE.
Hadashi was a duelist. Not a Quidditch player. While he had little doubt that he COULD fly a broom with little difficulty, that was not where his talents lay.
The other one was an... obstacle course? Involving fire-walking? Wait. Did Hogwarts actually intend to make their students walk barefoot on coals?
Hadashi had thought such things were used by desperate muggle magicians, not actual wizards.
Although, his school practiced quidditch in storming, raging seas simply to get better at it than anyone else... So he hardly had room to judge.
Hadashi decided to sign up for the fire-walking obstacle course. How hard could it be?
Besides, he was certain that people who played Quidditch were going to sign up for torch tag. It didn't take Hadashi's strategic genius to realize how little of a chance he stood against that.
As he was signing up, someone else came to sign up as well. He was dressed very well, or at least Hadashi thought he was. But, to his astonishment, the boy was barefooted. At a festival???
It was then that Hadashi recognized him as the Slytherin Seeker. The one he had seen in the one Quidditch game he attended.
Well. Might as well have a conversation with SOMEONE.
"Ah.. Excuse me. Are you the Slytherin Seeker?"

It would seem that Felix found himself busy enough with her patrol partner and lobbing food through the air to notice, but she would make sure she caught up with him before he left. “Yes, I will introduce you two. He can be a bit rude sometimes… Then again, so can you. So I am sure you two will get along swimmingly.” Santario teased Percival and nodded at his suggestion. “As long as we can actually avoid the spells and food thrown about, that sounds lovely.”Open to Interactions
That was when someone else caught her eye after his present company left him. Seeing Jürgen Hess brought Vladimir’s voice into her mind as she recalled the conversation where he told her to seek him out. She swallowed hard at the memory before looking away. She would find him before he left again, perhaps tomorrow even.
Distracted by two (perhaps three if Hugh follows along) figures approaching. Galton, she remembered him primarily through a haze. He had said nothing as she berated Alan on the piste during their last duel and, for the most part, didn’t seem to bring it up. However, what he did bring up brought Percival to her immediate defense. She couldn’t even remember if Percival had been in the audience that day.
Santario gave a small wave to Howard, Serena (And Hugh?) with an almost apologetic half-smile before looking up at Percival. “Please, do not start a fight right now… I was in the process of the change in our duel, and from what I remember… I looked disgusting then.” The Irish rolled off her tongue with an odd French touch before looking back at Galton. “I deeply apologize for how I acted during our duel. I was… Ill. Very much not myself at all. I promise if we duel again next year, you will get a far better opponent.” Ill was not a lie. Not the full truth either, but unless he spoke Irish, which was entirely possible, he wouldn’t catch onto the keywords that could clue him into what had been wrong with her.
With another look at Serena “I look forward to watching you race. You will be a formidable opponent if you are as good at this as you were quidditch.” She still had some excellent photos of Serena in action and decided she should owl her some. Her attention redirected towards Percival once more. “Maybe we should just go dance?” It had been over a month since Santario had been cured physically. She had started to gain some of the weight back that she had lost, the dark circles under her eyes were gone, and the complexion of her skin was back to normal. Nothing looked wrong with her. Mentally, however, she wasn’t as good with larger groups anymore, and social situations were taking more of a toll on her than they once did. She wondered if she’d ever feel normal again or if this was it.

He would see Marion off, hell she looked good. He could not imagine the difficulties she had likely encountered these past few months abandoned and alone in a pool of sharks. Yet she appeared to be fairing well in spite of circumstances. This would leave him in the main ball area watching the chaos unfold. It was rather expected in truth, wizards were intense, insecure and reckless. They sought the chaos in which they were consumed.
Food was being flung about the Great Hall. There were couples in the midst of domestic squabbles, there was shouting and dramatics. It was not as unsettling as it should have been, he had been here before and he had seen all of this. His eyes would scan the ball, he was looking for information about him. Yes, Mathias Pride, in the midst of a domestic squabble like the others. He had just sent Winnie Harper, his poor, gaslit girlfriend across the room. He was unraveling. Fantastic.
Hess was a quiet lad, well dressed and he spoke less than he listened. His thoughts were his to know. But he had opinions, sentiments and resentment. He knew more than he ever uttered and he never intervened. He wondered at times if there was a another option. He knew about the hags, their insidious presence and the hold that they had over Vladimir years before he died. Yet there was a pecking order, he did what Vladimir wanted. His choices were self-destructive, he was not hurting anyone but himself with the antics. He was deeply troubled, lonesome and fixated on his friends. Yet he also thought of him as selfless, although his opinion might have been swayed had he known the whole story. Vladimir died trying to save his friends, or so that was the story Athanatos left in his wake.
From his perspective, the hags turned on the Athanatos family and took too much from what could have been a mutually beneficial opportunity. That being until they decided to turn a student, the fact that it was his second cousin made it all the more suspicious. In spite of the evacuation of the slugs, he had no faith that it was over. He wondered why the girl was chosen in the first place. They never should have brought those creature's to the darkened wood's edge. They were given explicit instructions to avoid the hags and leave them to their business, he presumed that this would have went both ways and that the hags were given similar instructions and in spite of this they defined the late heir apparent's years in Hogwarts.
It was fine now, they were all dead. Uncle Thaddeus paid the sort of money that ensured it so, the papers even made mention of bodies found near Hogsmeade. The plight of the crones was over, or so he believed. He had no reason to think that Marion was one of them. She was a victim, a survivor and in the absence of her other friends, he supposed he could be her friend.
While she is gone somewhere, he would take care of some unsettled business. Erin had just broken away from a distressed couple. With a smile on his face and a confident stride he approaches the half-breed. She looked normal enough, a clean dress and done hair. A far cry from the twisted visage she had previously donned. He was well aware of the dubious circumstances of that dark branch of his family. Not dark in terms of dark magic, but rather the dabbling curiosity involving monsters and beings.
There was something wrong with her.
The meddlesome actions of his supposed peers and friends ensured her survival. It was a terrible mistake he was certain. Well, time to finish at least one incomplete project. ]"Hey Erin, sorry about" almost successfully killing you "...things," he lies. A hand extended, of course covered with a glove, as if he wanted to shake her hand. "Was hoping that we could talk about some things... sometime," now preferably.
“People always clap for the wrong reasons.”

Percival pulled at the blue satin cuff of his shirt as he stared into the mirror. A nervousness spread through him like a wildfire that could no longer be contained. Today would be their first official date. Something that he wanted to make sure would go right. In the past, these balls had done nothing but result in a ruined night. He truly did not want that to happen this night. Memories flittered to the front of his mind as he remembered how poorly his last ball with Opeila had gone. He could not help but wonder if things could turn out the same, and that was something he could not afford. The boy frowned as he turned to look at the familiar wooden form of his wand. Percival walked over and grabbed it. Placing it within easy reaching distance in his right front pocket. It was better to be safer when one was going to a ball at this school. He could still remember the buzzing sound as the wasps had flooded the Blossom Ball.| Outfit |
A part of him still wondered what he had done to deserve such a chance with Ileen. She was practically the opposite of him. Ileen was so bright. Something that he did not see when looking into his dark eyes. She was so good, and what had he done to repay her for her kindness? Shove her down a flight of stairs? The boy gritted his teeth as he left the dorm room and made his way toward the Great Hall. Percival hated this feeling of guilt. It weighed him down and sunk its claws into his heart. He had not meant to shove her to be fair. If only she had not tried to get in between him and Dealla. The boy huffed as he walked down the hallway his eyes locking on a boy up ahead who seemed to be walking towards the ball as well. A small smile would cross his face before he moved quickly towards the other. As he began the pass he would shove the boy hard to the side. Causing the other to fall into the wall with a loud cry.
The boy felt a grin cross his face as he continued his way, ignoring the other's calls, feeling much better. It felt better to simply lash out rather than to accept the weird feelings that had made a home in his chest. Percival glanced down at the cuff of his shirt. Straightening it quickly before he walked into the ball turning his head about as he studied the decor for the ball. His eyes caught the different banners of the other schools, and the Great Hal had been practically bombarded with the number of flowers it now held. Percival would glance about the hall trying to find the familiar form of Ileen. The boy's eyes would ever so slightly as he spotted Ileen standing next to a pale girl. It seemed that he had been a little later than planned if Ileen had been waiting about. Percival quickly moved over to the girl a grin flickering across his face. "Sorry I am late. You look pretty Ileen." he said a tad quickly.

Heat ran down Haley's cheeks as Louca complimented her and she looked down her dress. "Well, thank you." She giggled, taking a step back and spinning once on the spot. Her grandmother was just always a great help for those dresses to all these events Haley went and she always had to promise her, even as a child, that she would give her dresses an honourable exit and show how beautiful they were. "Thanks to my Grandma." Haley laughed until she came to a stop again and her gaze rested back on Louca and his black suit.
She couldn't help but smirk "So if you don't like them then you should just take them off." She said as she took a step back again and looked at his bow tie, "Then it can't cause you any more problems." She winked at him and raised an eyebrow. "Oh I really don't have a plan." Admitted Haley honestly, now glancing around the room as well. "If you want we can go get something to eat or drink or we can go to the Courtyard?" she now suggested, but she didn't care in the end what they would do, she was sure no matter what, they would have a fun evening.
In time the nervousness was gone for now and it seemed Haley was able to behave normally again, but one thing she found difficult and that was not to look at Louca and grin to herself, laugh at his jokes or make a silly crack. "Among the activities, I heard there's some kind of obstacle course here and something about flying. That both sounds like it would be something for us." Narrated Haley, looking challengingly at Louca. "But the decision is entirely up to you."
"But what we should do is dance." Completely startled, Haley's eyes snapped open, the sentence just blurted out of her so thoughtlessly and the nervousness came back. What had she been thinking? Exactly, nothing. Her mouth had once again been quicker than her head. What if Louca couldn't dance at all and didn't actually like all this? They hadn't been here 30 minutes and she was already running over him with her suggestions, but the girl couldn't deny it, she loved dancing at balls like this. It was cliché, but even a Haley Rose had to fulfil clichés and this was one of them.

The hug came unexpectedly but was welcomed. Ileen squeezed Aida and quickly buried her head on their neck. Her knight twin knew her well enough to tell that something wasn’t right. All of this had started this evening when she had put on her gown - just as if she had slipped into another world with the dark blue dress, putting on a skin that wasn’t hers - or that was supposed to be hers but she had tried to escape it. All the memories, all the fear she had tried to block out and run away from had rushed through her body, going under her skin. The young girl had looked into the mirror, looking at the dress that matched Percivals outfit, spending hours to please him, hoping that he would like what he would see.
And there, in the mirror, he was standing right behind her, his blue eyes looking at her, questioning her. And suddenly, it wasn’t about Percival and their date anymore. It was about him. Why had she avoided him? Why had she not looked for him when he had disappeared? She had looked back at him, an iron fist in her stomach, squeezing it, feeling the guilt and despair. She knew why she had avoided him. Their whole situation had been awkward since the last ball, she had no idea what she should say to him. Asking him, why he did, what he did? Trying to save him?
Yeah, she had tried to save him, but her presence had drawn more fights and she suddenly had been the reason for more danger. She had tried to spare him. Also she hadn’t known what she felt.
Also, she liked Percival and deep down she knew she had avoided that topic because part of her was scared that he was involved in whatever had happened to him. But maybe, he was still here? Maybe, he would just randomly show up again at this ball?
So she had come to the ball, confused and overwhelmed by everything that had clashed over her as a tsunami. But how could she put this into words? She hadn’t talked about him ever. Of course, Aida had noticed it. She knew that something wasn’t right and the hug gave the girl a grip of the real world again.
“I am okay, I guess.” She quickly looked around, the fear fading from her face and making space for determination. “You know Victor? He was attacked on the last ball and I wonder if he will return tonight.” She looked at the pale witch, her eyes fixed on her and there was no flicker in them. Ileen was in this world here and now. “I don’t know what happened to him and if he doesn't show up, I need to find out.” Sorrow reflected on her facial features, a dark shadow of guilt. “I have sworn to protect him and not let him die again.” The urgency in her voice was clear and loud. She had tried to give her friend an answer. Maybe, it didn’t make sense at all. But if there was someone to understand, it was Aida.
Her eye contact with Aida was interrupted as Percival approached her. And the dramatic moment was gone. She quickly got her composure back and turned around to greet him with a cute and innocent smile. “Hey Percival. You look very handsome yourself, thank you. And don't worry, I've only been here for a minute.” Her cheeks blushed and for a moment her heart and mind were back in the world she had lived in before she had looked into that mirror. For a few seconds, she was the shy girl on the first date with the boy she liked. And feared. It probably was hard to follow her emotions at the moment.
Clearing her voice, she quickly introduced her friend although they probably knew each other already, given that they were in the same class for three years. “This is Aida, my knight twin.”
She grinned at the inside joke and tried to push away the presence in the back of her head that pushed her to pursue what she had planned. Not yet...

Troubled by the sudden change, Lysander followed her gaze to a dispersing group of students all stranger to him except Towers. Even from here, his best friend's sister stood distinctively—attractive in a blue piece he had to admit. But if not her, who could have warranted such a response? In ignorance, his eyes skimmed past the true source of Aurelia's woes, a false assumption that it must have been one of the girls. Mouth opening, he'd come dangerously close to reassuring Aurelia that she was still prettiest, before a little voice alerted him to all the chauvinistic ways it could have been taken. His concern would be tabled for now.
After all, there was a dance to get to. “As you wish,” he said, happily disregarding any drama in favour of starting their night right. Aurelia took his hand and led him to the dance floor, to which he responded with a gentle stroke of his thumb on her skin. He was relieved that Aurelia was taking some initiative in enjoying herself. It certainly helped him feel more at ease as well. “Really? Well, no worries. You're in good hands.” Tunnel-visioned to his date as she established closed position, a hand on his shoulder and their free hands joining, the jealous glances of a secret fiancé came and went entirely ignored. Lysander would lead to the music, a graceful waltz as they accompanied each other's rhythm. At nearly ten inches apart, their height difference was all the more apparent now.
With his palm at her lower back, he would ever slightly draw her closer. His swaying would increase in tempo, less space between them allowing for tighter and more efficient turns. “I'd say you were just being humble earlier. From what I'm seeing, you don't seem that out of practice at all.” And he meant it. It wasn't much of a surprise though, considering her background. Many pure-bloods had been subject to dance one way or another. “...Admittedly, ballroom is not my specialty,” he informed—one cheek adorably dimpling—in such a way that it was obvious he was both bragging and leaving the statement in the air for further prodding. Although with less lifting than he had grown to appreciate, this type of dancing wasn't the only one that allowed for close proximity.

![]() =========================== | ![]() Well, at the very least she is not wearing a blanket like a toga or an oversized, cinched shirt. She was wearing white of all colors, probably one of the worst options to wear to a ball. The smoke, grass and blood stains alone were a sufficient reason to choose something else entirely. If nothing else, Erin cleaned up well. A gold-colored bangle on her left wrist and a pair of diamond stud earrings that were nearly invisible gave the part Veela a rather understated presence in comparison to some of the more elaborate choices in attire some of the other girls donned. She felt tall at the very least, wearing a pair of wheat-colored wedges that added four inches to her already appreciable five foot five frame. She was thing, but she did not appear sickly. Her long, blonde hair was simply pulled back from her face, wisps of unruly strands of hair would frame a seemingly clean face. Little did she know and little had she prepared herself for a food fight that would be taking place on the first and potentially only ball that she bothered to clean herself up for. Balls such as the Blossom Ball are known for their chaos and she would not miss the disaster for the world. |

She would wander away from the scene, spouting lies and nothing else of use. Her point was already made, the grim, dull sentiment, this lingering depression that clung oppressively in the air. Not quite a broken heart but this irrevocable sense of abandonment, of worthlessness and an incapacity to meet the standards of others. That approval, attachment and affection have requisites that must be met. Yet this journey is blocked by stubborn pride.
It is effortless to find misery, people like Nicholas McCowan sought such a deplorable state in the same manner some would seek a meal. A requisite for life, a humdrum, expected state that must be maintained and efforts to divert from the norm should be met with cravings and hunger pangs. Yet it was gruel, a daily sustenance met surely, but there was no satisfaction. They were alive, but nothing more.
It was those unique moments, those instance of rage, of vengeance truly accomplished, were moments worth savoring. A delicacy to be enjoyed by the gourmet. She took in a deep shuddering breath as she walked away, she was not leaving Nicholas in the throes of misery in spite of the fact that that was where he stubbornly wished to remain. There was something else, it tastes sickly sweet whatever it was. Not quite love, but affection of some form she surmised. A yearning of sorts, and a biting sense of exposure. A strange combination of sentiment surely, but what else can one expect from a yandere.
It took months to accomplish, this savory treat that she drank deeply. A splash of color, a moment of life to support the affirmation -- I think, therefore I am.
She was distracted, feeding. Her voracious hunger was insatiable. She hardly noticed Jurgen's approach until a hand was thrust out in front of her. Her reply, suitably delayed. Why did he taste so... red? "Oh, um..." She was at a loss for words, was this a snack or something else? Anger. Rage. An intense heat that came off in waves. "Well, don't worry about it," she dismissed him almost ad abruptly as he arrived. It was a greater concern to learn that our cousin died and nobody had the decency to let us know, we learned it from the paper." She harbored no sentiment or resentment, she did not care for Vladimir in particular beyond the bond of blood. Being the black sheep of the illustrious family came with certain expectations in terms of exile.
The offer for a conversation after a feeding that left her satisfied, for the moment at the very least would be taken by the part Veela. She would take a last look around, White had left Serena and was continuing his conversation with Bloom. It was harder to bully things her own size. Besides, it was nothing more than a staring contest across the room between those two. Howard lacked for many things but passion was not among them, he was not the sort to repress much in her experience.
"Sure," she agreed. He had only tried to kill her once as far as she knew, what is a little murder between family?

Pax smiled back, finally happy that they were making slow progress in getting Adelaide to like them more. They tried to remain a little more calm than usual, however they didn't want Adelaide to think they were fake. Being calm and their usual chaotic self was a difficult balance.
"My mum always says that if the person enjoys wearing the outfit, it makes it look even more beautiful," they quoted. "And perhaps your mum just wants you to socialise a little more. After all, balls are a great place to do such things. And this ball in particular would allow you to meet a range of international students as well."
Pax's smile widened further, seeing Adelaide's dismissal to traditional pure-blood nature. Upon first knowing her, Pax could've mistaken her for one of the more blood purist types, but it seemed less so now. And even if she was, Pax wouldn't let that impact her view too much-not unless she started beng rude about muggles.
"Should I be flattered?" they joked. "I didn't realise how predictable I was."
"That is true, although a shame. I think it'd be interesting to see you play a game, you know, push yourself a little out your comfort zone. But if you're perfectly content to sit in your comfort zone, then I won't pester you too much about it." Pax mimicked Adelaide's head tilt and smirk.
As Adelaide opened her mouth to talk further, a young boy wearing a beautiful, albeit ripped, pink dress stumbled into her. Pax bit their lip, not wanting to intervene, but instead watching the scene play out. If anything, they found it a little amusing to watch Adelaide's anger diffuse into mild contempt.
"Lovely to meet you too, Hiro. I'm Pax, Pax Zhang," they introduced. "My pronouns are she/they, how about you? Also, if I may say, that dress does suit you awfully well, despite the rip."Action:

Why did she even try anymore? The first ball she had gone to, she had a short wonderful dance before his ex-friend stole him away from her and he left her for some kind of ghost hunt. The second ball she had ever gone to, the last Blossom Ball, she hadn't been able to stay for more than a second before panic set in and she ran from the ball like a coward. The last Fall Ball... well, a tent had fallen on top of her. These events always ended in chaos and misery and feeling like she had just wasted a whole night of her life.
Rose wasn't originally going to go to the Blossom Ball. She had given up on trying to go to these events. It wasn't even worth it anymore. It was just going to end horribly anyway, so why did she even try?
But then Bryan [completely random npc, I made him up like just now], the jock-like guy in her potions class, had asked her if she wanted to go to the ball with him. It had been a strangely casual invitation, after she had carried him through a potions project. Rose couldn't find any reason to say no, even though she didn't have any attraction towards Bryan. He hadn't ever been mean to her.
So she had owled her great-aunt, who had a multitude of dresses in her fashion collection, and as always, Margerie had picked out the perfect dress. It had fit the theme of flowers, with flowers on the fluttery silver sleeves and patterns on the front. She had done her hair up along with the theme, too, with an elaborate rose pattern in her long amber hair. She felt... sort of pretty. Which was weird for Rose, since she wasn't a particularly confident person in any way or form. But the sleeves that moved around her shoulders and upper arms and the long pretty skirt... it just felt good to be in. Rose had given up on wearing heels this time (as last time it had resulted in a pretty bad sprain), and was wearing simple silver flats to go with her dress. One of the best parts of her dress was that it had pockets. They weren't big pockets, and they were concealed in the skirt so nobody could really see them, but there was a pocket big enough for her wand, and she stored it there... just in case.
She walked in the Great Hall, and the decorations took her breath away. There was something so magical about flowers that Rose appreciated. There were flowers everywhere. All kinds of flowers. She could see cherry blossoms and roses and- was that chamomile? Anyway, it was pretty. It was beautiful. She noticed the banners for the schools. Merlin, there were a lot of people staying at Hogwarts, wasn't there?
Rose had been standing there a couple of minutes, just appreciating the decorations. But there was still no sign of Bryan. There was a twist of anxiety in her stomach, but she waved it away. He would be here.
She spied Henry, her step-brother, and smiled. If he caught her eye, she would give him a little wave. He was with two other girls, one she knew [Logan] and one she didn't [Adlai]. She would have to ask about the other girl some other time. Henry did seem to have a lot of female friends, didn't he? She knew he had been one of the organizers of this ball, and he had done a wonderful job helping to make it so beautiful. At least there wasn't any fire or collapsing tents. At least, not yet. Rose had her hopes up that because Henry had organized it, maybe there was a better chance of things going right tonight.
A realization slowly settled into Rose. Bryan wasn't here, and he wasn't coming. Rose had just gotten stood up.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. Why had she thought that she could have a nice night tonight? Why had she thought that Bryan actually wanted to take her to the ball? Rose pressed her lips together, moving off to the side, nearer the wall, and out of the way of any people coming in.
"Merlin's pants," she whispered, restraining herself from hitting her head against the wall. She should have known. She should have known nobody would mean it when they asked her to the ball. What was the point in staying? A chandelier might as well just fall on top of the attendees right now and Rose wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. Good thing there wasn't a chandelier in the Great Hall.
Rose came a little farther into the ball. She had to at least look like she belonged here, even if she didn't. She had to at least look like she had a purpose and actually had friends, even if she didn't.
She stood to the side of the entrance, trying her best to look like she was waiting for somebody. Technically, she was. She just knew they weren't coming. She wasn't going to bother Henry. He seemed occupied and he didn't need his annoying little step-sister to be trailing after him because she had no friends. She crossed her arms. She could see the guy who had passed out at the last ball [Mathias], the one who had been choking and kind of dying as two of his lady friends and Rose tried to help and failed. And she saw Alec, talking to a black-haired boy [Selim]. No, she wasn't going to ruin his night either. He deserved better than to have an annoying redhead trailing him all night. She wasn't just going to burst in on his conversation.
Rose focused her energy on looking like she was waiting for somebody. She belonged here.
But on the inside, she was still wondering why she even tried.
