As the days passed, the realization of how close Easter break was began to strike Vienna. Easter break. Going home. Seeing her family again. The thought was a bit bittersweet. Family was supposed to be... a comfort, of sorts. Right? But as the break grew closer a pit began to grow in Vienna's stomach. Deep down she knew she didn't want to go home. She was happier at Hogwarts than she ever was over a course of eleven years in the Goodwin Manor.
Families were supposed to be filled with love. Vienna's wasn't. There was nothing in the Goodwin household but ambition and even hatred. And, she had to admit. Some of that hatred came from Vienna. Other than Anna, she wasn't exactly close with her cousins, but she didn't hate them. They had to love each other, after all, they were all they had in their hellhole of a household. She loved Aunt Rosalie. After Theo and Anna, she had probably shown Vienna the most love she had ever received at home. Aunt Celeste was alright. There was no good reason to hate her in Vienna's eyes. In fact, the young Slytherin looked up to her. Raising three children alone was enough to gain Vienna's respect on its own. Raising her three crazy cousins was more than enough. Her grandfather was alright. She just wished he'd speak up a bit more.
But everybody else? Her father, her uncle, her grandmother? She loathed them. They were the reason she was afraid. They were the reason the pit in her stomach kept growing and growing as the break grew closer. But especially her grandmother. Hatred was probably an understatement for Vienna's feelings towards her grandmother. To be honest, there was no real word to describe it. Vienna wanted to make her mad. She had to admit, there was a sense of relief in getting her grandmother to yell at her. She wanted to do everything in her power to let her know she wasn't in charge of her. So that's just what she did.
She didn't really know what her goal was as she made her way to the lavatory with a pair of scissors in her pocket. She tended to do that a lot, act impulsively, the consequences of her actions only catching up to her an hour or so after. But, as said, she could worry about the results later.
She stared at the dusty mirror, hands running through her thick, wavy locks of hair. It reached under her chest now, a lot longer than how it was at the beginning of the year. Back home, her cousins and her were never allowed to cut their hair without permission. And since her grandmother had been in charge of her hair length, she had always kept it long. Keep it long, her grandmother used to say. You look more elegant. Maybe at least then you'd look like you belong.
Vienna winced as she remembered her words. She was definitely doing this. Scissors clutched tightly, she brought her hand up closer to her hair. She exhaled, closing her eyes. Hopefully she wouldn't regret this. The rest was practically a blur, her hands moving almost involuntarily as the hair fell softly to the ground. She finally finished, cutting off the last strand.
She kept her gaze down, taking a deep breath before looking into the mirror to see the results. Oh. My. God. Her eyes widened as she stared into the mirror with plain horror. Only one thought ran through her mind. What. The. Fuck. Did. I. Do? Her breath quickened. She'd have to run to the Slytherin common room and find her charms book right now. Was there a spell that grew hair back? Or maybe stick things together? Maybe she could at least stick the hair back on?
This was bad. Really bad.

Hair Begone!
Lilith was back outside climbing trees again even after getting scolded by some random third year at Hogwarts. She really didn't care. She'd be leaving soon anyway. She just hoped they wouldn't tell her Headmistress. They probably would though. If they did she'd never hear then end of it from the other students. She sat in a tree chewing on some bubble gum. She wasn't alone though. She had a few friends with her. They were playing truth or dare. One of them had dared her to climb up then fall backwards and latch her hands into a branch.
It was a thing Lilith did on a daily basis. She climbed up and then flipped backwards, grabbing the branch right below her and kicking her legs down. The group screamed thinking she would fall. Lilith just laughed and finished climbing down. " Now that's how you do that. Now you try Annie, just go for it. Don't be a wuss and just do it. It's not that damn hard" She said spitting out the gum then popping a lollipop into her mouth. The girl Annie laughed and tried to do it herself.
Annie couldn't even get past the first branch. The whole group laughed as Annie climbed back down. She had always been afraid of heights. Lilith always attempting to get her to try something dangerous just made it worse.
She smiled before brushing her , once again, short hair out of her face. She had cut it again after the Blossom Ball. Had grown past her shoulders. She didn't even want her hair touching her shoulders. She had cut it and inch or two above though. She had also trimmed her bangs and gave herself some curtain bangs. She liked them much better than the ones she had before that went straight across her forehead.
She nodded toward the castle. "I'll be back. Just going to use the loo right quick." Her friends nodded as she walked off. She made her way up to the lavatory slowly. She didn't really need to go. Just wanted to check and see if she hurt herself anywhere. Not that she would care anyway.
Lilith walked into the bathroom to see a girl standing in the mirror. There was hair laying around her feet meanwhile the hair on her head had been cut unevenly. By what though? Lilith looked at the girls hands to see a pair of scissors. The girl seemed to be panicking. Lilith remembered the first time she had cut her own hair with a pair of scissors. It was when she was nine and she had decided to give herself a pixie cut. Didn't look too bad for her first time but when her mother saw her all she could hear was her screaming.
Lilith laughed slightly before entering the Lavatory fully. " First time huh? I can tell by the look on your face. Who is it you're trying to piss off? Mom? Dad? Grandparent?" Lilith was genuinely interested in the girl's actions. Usually someone only cut off their hair like that was if they were angry at someone. Lilith should know that.
She walked over to the girl and then hopped herself onto the counter still eating on her lollipop. The girl had pretty dark hair. Seemed curly. Why did she want to cut it off though? What had made her so mad that this is what she thought she should do? I mean honestly, I think she'd look nicer with shorter hair...But then I don't know what she looked like with long hair so that is kind of biased
Lilith shrugged to herself and continued to watch the girl stare at herself in the mirror in shock as she waited for a response. The girl obviously didn't know what she was doing considering her expression but Lilith could help her. She was good at this thing considering she had been cutting her own hair for the last mh three years?

The whole situation felt a bit unreal. She was dreaming, wasn't she? If she pinched herself she'd surely wake up. But apparently not. As she ran her fingers through her short mess of hair, it felt very, very much real. She groaned, facepalming with her scissor-free hand. Was she seriously this much of an idiot? God, why was she so impulsive?
However, her mental scolding was suddenly interrupted by a sudden voice coming from behind her. Seeing it came quite abruptly, Vienna couldn't help but jump as she heard it. A bit dramatic, if she had to be honest, dropping the scissors into the sink and slapping her hand over her heart. She whipped around, facing the sound of the voice. Still a bit stunned from the shock, she could barely depict the girl's features. However, Vienna could tell she was about her age. As she began to regain her grasp on reality, what the girl had actually said began to register.
"I-" Vienna began. How did the girl know? "N-No. Why would you think that? I'm not-" Vienna rambled, before stopping. She sighed, her gaze turning back to the mirror as she stared at herself. "Yeah. Grandparent. My grandmother, specifically," she continued. She didn't even know the girl, but she really needed to get her family problems out of her system. "I hate her," she said bluntly. "And she always liked my hair long. So I thought I'd try to piss her off," she huffed.
Vienna's gaze turned back to the girl, following her as she approached Vienna and hopped onto the counter with a lollipop in her mouth. "How... how did you know?" Vienna asked the girl, tilting her head to the side. "Was it obvious, or something?" She asked with an awkward scoff. She was pretty light-skinned, she knew it. She had a tendency to blush easily. Or perhaps, this girl spoke from experience? "Or are you good at recognizing this type of stuff? Speaking from experience?" She asked, furrowing her brow.
She sighed, still a bit stunned by the unreal experience. That was when an idea hit her. "If you are, speaking from experience, I mean, is there any way you could... I don't know. Help me, maybe? Are you experienced in this stuff?" She asked, her tone desperate. "If you couldn't tell, I'm not," she laughed awkwardly as she held up a strand of the uneven hair. "Please. I could really use some help."

Lilith listened to the girl as she told her that she hated her grandmother. Makes sense she would want to piss her off. The girl looked good with short hair. Lilith didn't want to imagine her with long hair. She had always hated long hair herself. Long hair is so pretty....You'll look better with your hair long....Guys don't like girl with short hair....You'll never get a boyfriend looking like that... Lilith shook her head and shuddered as the voices came back haunting her. She had been told that guys wouldn't like her. It was true for some guys. But girls seemed to like long hair.
That's another thing Lilith did to piss off her mom. Come out as Pansexual. Her mother always had a thing against homosexuals. What's better than having your own daughter come out as one. She had brought home her first girlfriend when she was ten. Her mother was not having that and immediately kicked her out and made Lilith break up with her.
First she got in trouble for cutting her hair, then she wasn't allowed to date her preference of people. She just hates me....I hate her! Lilith screamed to herself. That was the night that she shaved her head completely. Her mother took one look at her and left back out immediately not coming back home until the next morning. Lilith was getting angry as she remembered. She shook the hatred from her mind and looked back to the girl.
"Miss girl I'm practically a professional at cutting hair. I've been cutting my own hair since I was nine. I can totally help you out." Lilith hopped off the counter taking the scissors from Vienna and began to cut her hair into a more even cut and layered it correctly. She took a step back and looked at her in the mirror. She looked amazing. "Girl! You look awesome! I did better on you than I do on myself." Lilith stated as she rested a hand on her hip admiring her work.
