OOC Let's Chat!

I didn't actually plan to be here for so long or stay. I just wanted to see what it was about, maybe roleplay for a few months but I've never really stuck to a site for years till now.

So I made my character on a whim. Serena is the name I was going to change my real life name to, so it was the first to come to mind. Towers... not sure where it came from but it had no thought into it when I first registered. I later gave it a meaning through her goblin background but it originally was just a throwaway name.

I put more effort into my other characters names.

Ah! I'd like to share hehe. to be honest I don't really think much of it.
Aurora: I just like it, i guess idk why.
Celestia: This was supposed to be Aurora's first name, but then when I was writing her backstory, I felt the need to change it to her middle name instead. And this is also her grandma's name as a tribute
Zephyrine: It means wind. Again, I didn't think much about it lol. Her grandfather's name is taufan which means wind. I just want to put it as a tribute as well.
Ranvier: I am always a fan of anatomy or scientific names. I just thought ranvier (from the nodes of ranvier) is pretty cool sounding so yeah!

Logan: I have always liked the name Logan and one of my cousins names is Logan.
Juliette: Juliette is just an alternate spelling of Juliet, Shakespeare was something I would read a lot when I was younger and still love watching Shakespeare plays.
Baird: I could not think of a last name for Logan and just googled Scottish last names.

Noah I loved with a passion as a name. It also means rest. (And thats pretty much what Noah does )
Jupe, I didn't know about lol but apparently it's french for Skirt

Winnie/Winifred I, much like Serena, made this character on a whim. Winnie is the name I often use when playing Pokémon and naming my Pikachu. I always get a Pikachu in my party. It is always a female. It is always named Winnie. For some reason when I joined the site, I decided Winnie was going to be Winnie’s name as well. Given the comparison of a Pikachu, sweet but quick to angry, stronger than some give it credit for, ouch electric, I still stand by my decision.

Daisy Jack Burnett told me OC that Winnie was a lot like a Daisy, always ready to bounce back. I liked that description and I made it her official middle name.

Harper I was looking for a surname that could suit someone of both Irish and English origins. To be honest I have no idea why I picked it. It was very early in the morning when I found the site and I had yet to sleep. This name I regret. If I could change Winnie’s surname I would.

Hemlock Winnie’s grandmother’s maiden surname. It came up while I was spamming a wizard name generator. I thought the contrast between Daisy and Hemlock was interesting, so I used it.

So, I had pictured Juni as a childish, never going to grow up kind of gal. She wore colorful clothing and drew all over her purple hightops, hello kitty bandaids up and down her legs and on her face. Juniper means "young". "Juniper is a fresh-feeling nature name -- it's a small evergreen shrub -- with lots of energy."

Okay back with more:

Felix Is a name that means ‘happy’. Given Felix’s attitude, I thought naming him something that completely contrasted with his character would be hilarious.

Klas I wanted a more Swedish middle name for Felix. It is his Grandfather’s name. Klas is a shortened Swedish version of the name ‘Nicholas’, which is hilarious given Felix’s similarities to @Nicholas McCowan

Kolbeck The surname was the hardest part for me. I wanted something that was Old Norse to show how old his family was, but I wanted it to be connected to nature, specially snow. I didn’t find anything I liked related to snow, but Kolbeck means cold stream and I liked the combination of “happy cold stream”.

I have a big state-wide writing test today but my brain is mush from my cold and I don't feel like doing anything.

Lucia's name didn't have any huge meaning behind it when I chose it - I expanded on her name meanings later when I realised that foxes often symbolise slytherin-y qualities like cunning ect, which i thought was ironic since lucia's family assumed she'd be in slytherin lol.

my inpc's name has more meaning because i put more thought into it lol

cassie - means 'prophetess'. i wanted a name that sounded informal but also could work as a first name, and cassie (since its usually short for cassandra) sounded perfect to me
heather - this was originally 'harriet', but it didn't sounds quite right to me. then i was on holiday and on a walk though basically a field completely full of heather, and i was like 'OH HEATHER' xD it has the same sort of feel as cassie i think, and also heather is a pretty cool plant which i think has a lot in common with cassie. if cassie was a plant she would probably be heather, so
mcgregor-martin - wanted her to have a doublebarrelled last name to reflect her being english-french. but i couldn't think of anything so for both of them i just googled common english and common french surnames lol.

Lucia HAS to be in the top of my favorite HIO names
