Lee Ye-jun? Samantha had never heard of that name and looked confused at the boy. She assumed Lee his first name and Ye-jun his last name, but that didn't make any sense if he was Eun-ji's cousin. Her last name was Lee Hunt, right? So how could Lee be his first name? "Is Lee your first name? And is Ye-jun your last name? Because you said Lee first and that would mean that that is your first name." While talking the brunette looked up to the boy. "If I introduce myself I say 'I am Samantha Salwis', Samantha being my first name and Salwis my last," she continued, " and I can even say 'Samantha Jo Salwis' and add my middle name. So Lee is your first name?" As she rambled on she became even more confused and wondered if she was stupid or that there just was a misunderstanding.

Ye-jun explained that his mother had made the Korean food and Eun-ji helped. At first, the young girl hadn't been interested in trying it, but when she was told Eun-ji helped, she knew she just had to try it later. She was very curious about her friends cooking skills.

Her blue eyes followed where Eun-ji pointed and to her surprise, Samantha saw the healing corner. "That's a healing corner? That's so handy!" she said in awe, wishing she had come up with that idea. "Let's hope nobody has to use it," she giggled, unaware of the fact Eun-ji rather not talked with her. When Ye-jun talked about Eun-ji's family background it took a moment before Samantha realized what he meant, but when she did, she nodded. "Yes, the adults are there for that," she agreed with him.

When Eun-ji told her she already had two amazing dance partners the extreme disappointment could be seen on Samantha's little face. She would have loved to dance with Eun-ji, she had wanted to teach the older girl the Lawn Mower, which was the best dance move ever. With the mention of her date, Delphinia popped up in the brunette's mind. She could dance with her too, that would be fun as well. "Next time?" she repeated the words. "Next time as in next ball or next time we see each other or some other time today?" she slightly titled her head as she looked at Eun-ji.

"There is a magic comb that can braid?" With huge eyes from surprise, Samantha looked at the Hufflepuff. "That's so cool! It would save you so much time!" The brunette hated doing her hair in the morning so she always wore a simple low ponytail. For the ball, she had spent way too long on her hair, a total of 5 minutes, what a waste of time! If she would have had this comb Lucia was talking about, she would have been done so much faster. "Where did you get this comb?"

"I have a date to this ball and I have never had a date to a ball before," Samantha started a new story while her eyes kept moving from Lucia to Eun-ji. "So I don't know what I am supposed to do, I haven't thought about it yet. Am I supposed to be with her during the whole ball?" she asked the two older girls, in desperate need of advice. Samantha didn't like showing people she was clueless about something, but she trusted Eun-ji and Lucia seemed to be friends with her so Lucia should be trustworthy as well. The brunette didn't want Ye-jun to answer her question, which was why she didn't look at the boy.

@Henry Knight and @Logan Baird
Adlai’s cheeks flushed at Henry speaking arabic, she hadn’t known he knew how. Frankly it was a nice surprise, especially since it came with a compliment. “Thank you! You look great too!” She exclaimed as she looked him over. He looked like a gentleman from her perspective. However, her attention was soon pulled away from his appearance and was instead directed to what laid in his hands.

It was a corsage. She had only ever seen girls receive them on television, so the fact that one was being gifted to her felt a little surreal. “Oh wow, it’s beautiful.” She said as she slid it over her right wrist. “It really is beautiful, thank you.” She added smiling widely.

Adlai then looked to the young woman standing near Henry. She had never seen her before, and felt bad for not noticing her until now. She exchanged a pleasantry of ‘nice to meet you.’ Her voice was sturdy, unlike Adlai’s which was high pitched and nasally. “It’s nice to meet you Logan, you look stunning!” She said as she gave her a pleasant smile. Adlai wasn’t lying when she said Logan looked stunning, she was a very pretty girl.

Adlai hoped she and Logan would be able to get along, especially since she seemed to be someone close to Henry, especially if she would be joining them throughout the ball tonight. Speaking of Henry, her gaze shifted back to him as he asked what the two of them would like to do. “I’m not quite sure about you two, but I very much so like dancing. If you’d like to give it a try? If not it’s perfectly fine! I heard there are a few games we could play!” She suggested.

Midspring celebration. Exactly a year ago, the same different blossom ball he participated in, it felt surreal to go back to the place where only embarrassment occurs. A grumpy Slytherin who cosplayed as a christmas tree was his choice of companion. Hell was the journey and it surely did not bring him heaven. She was a pain to be with, worse than anyone he ever dated. Anastasia on the other hand was both out of sight and reach. To his disappointment, all along there was not any invisible string that tied them together. Plenty of fishes in the sea, and he got that James Dean daydream look in his eyes and somehow he saw an American angel that caused him to feel a gold rush for a split second. It was the time where that tiny brain of his decided to sashayed his way and ask her to the ball, shamelessly. And there he was, entering the great hall decorated in flowers. Quite the opposite to the last ball he went to, it was depressing, as if it insulted the past he tried to bury. Dark veil and smoke in every corner of the courtyard, then the bridge that supposedly would reveal your inner desire, what kind of sick twisted game it was. And he went back to his bed with a large purple bruise on his face. A heel mark to be exact. It was indeed a battle scar of a lifetime.

Lucietta Mahler. She seemed polite, the type who would probably follow the more dominant one. Poor girl would be treated like a doormat, but it was what he was looking for. Someone who is too nice for their own good that they can't say no. Someone who’s willing to be controlled like a puppet. Someone like her.

In a black turtleneck, covered in a black satin suit matched with a trouser from the same material. On top of those, fancy looking ornaments embroidered on a dark purple coat, again, what was this guy's obsession with satin fabric? We wouldn’t know. But right after his feet stepped into the ancient floor of the great hall, he expected to see what he had expected. A fight. Food was being thrown everywhere, some petty argue, very not surprising to occur in this school that needed to be shut down hundred of years ago. Just to protect himself, and perhaps his date, he took out his wand and said “Pluvia Velo"

Vienna had her fair share of formal events. Yet as the Blossom Ball inched closer before finally arriving, Vienna found herself lacking the most important part of a ball. An outfit.

On the day of the ball, she had found herself frantically searching for a dress, digging through her unorganized trunk and attempting to navigate her disorderly dorm in an attempt to find something, anything, to wear to the ball. It wasn't until an hour or so before the ball that Vienna found a solution to her problem. Genevieve. Of course, her cousin would have to own a spare dress or two. She knew Gen had attended the Fall Ball. Perhaps Vienna would be able to snatch the dress she had worn then.

After begging her cousin to borrow the dress, Vienna sprinted as fast as she could back to her dorm, hectically throwing on the dress. She had to admit, it was longer than she would've preferred, but she'd work with it. It wasn't all that fancy, and it fit her style. Plus it was green. She absolutely loved the color green. She had managed to retrieve two plain white translucent butterfly-shaped hair clips. A lucky find, considering she usually lost things that came in pairs. Considering she didn't know how to do any fancy hairstyles, and she was already short on time anyways, she pinned the two clips into loose half pigtails. Slipping on a pair of flats she conveniently found in her trunk, she hurriedly sprinted down to the Great Hall, nearly tripping over herself.

Once she arrived, her eyes were immediately overwhelmed by the elaborate decorations. Banners hung from the ceiling, the patterns and colors that usually presented the Hogwarts houses replaced with representations of each school. Bright flowers scattered the hall, and they were quite pretty, Vienna had to admit. As music rang through the hall, her eyes fell upon a mostly empty table, labeled with the word 'potluck.' Vienna winced. Was she supposed to bring something? She didn't hear about that part. No matter, she couldn't cook anyway. Whoever would have the guts to try whatever dish she cooked up would probably be poisoned.

Vienna's eyes widened as they fell upon a sign-up sheet for the games. While her attire wasn't the most convenient thing for games, she was sure she'd find a way. But for now, she'd have to wait. She had one main priority, and that was finding Edme. While at first she had no plan of going with a date, perhaps with just a couple of friends, she had no problem offering herself as Edme's when they explained how she had nobody to go with. It was really no problem, however. Vienna liked hanging out with Edme, and she was entirely content with being their date.

Her eyes navigated the crowds of people, students from each school, each grade. Everyone was dressed in elaborate suits and dresses, and Vienna found the range of attire and aesthetics quite interesting. Finally, her eyes fell upon a small Ravenclaw first year. Exactly who she was looking for. Lifting her skirt off the floor to avoid any tripping accidents, she rushed over to Edme, a bit slower than usual, she had to admit, considering flats weren't the most practical running shoes.

"Hey! Edme!" She called as she ran up to her, waving. Vienna finally reached them, leaning over with her hands on her knees as she caught her breath. After taking a second to orient herself, Vienna whipped her head back up, her eyes meeting Edme's. "Hi. I'm really sorry if I kept you waiting. Had a little wardrobe mix-up," she chuckled nervously. "Speaking of wardrobe," she began, taking a moment to observe Edme's outfit. It was unique, but definitely not in a bad way. "You look stunning!" Vienna complimented.

Axel felt like a king, and the whole night was at his disposal. How enticing.

He strutted into the Great Hall with his thumbs looped around the straps of his suspenders. Anyone who looked at him knew there was going to be trouble. Axel radiated energy that could only be described as chaos wrapped in beauty.

But Axel couldn't cause trouble without his fine genderfluid friend could he? No, he had to find them and lure them into his scheme. Luckily, they were easy to find with their split dyed hair and delicate features. Axel, wouldn't deny, they were quite a beautiful creature.

The way his friend wore their hair was an indicator of the moment's gender, and judging by what he could see, it was a female day, and Axel would therefore use the name Artemis for them. A striking name for a striking person.

"Dobryy vecher moy drug."Good evening, my friend. Axel said in a faux haughty accent as he approached Artemis, who was standing near the drink table, keeping to herself. He fanned himself and grinned at her. "Skazochno kak vsegda."Fabulous as always.

He knew she didn't care much for flattery, but he loved to poke fun at her. He took advantage of his location and served himself a drink, gulping it down in one swig with one hand in the pocket of his dark brown trousers.

"Rasslab'sya! Eto vecherinka!"Lighten up! This is a party! He said, jabbing her gently with his elbow. Then, he poured himself another drink. There wasn't anything fancy in this drink, but it made him feel more outgoing than usual. It made him want to break chairs over peoples' heads and then laugh at them, which actually didn't sound like a bad idea.

Axel was always looking for the action at a party. He was able to spot a few of his fellow Durmstrang colleagues throughout the area, but nothing was peaking his interest other than a food fight. Food fight? Nah, he wanted something on a grander scale. Like setting stuff on fire.

He turned to face Artemis, giving her his best annoying cute puppy eyes. "Mozhem li my sdelat' chto-to sumasshedsheye?"Can we do something crazy? He pleaded, arms folded, hands fiddling with the rolled up sleeves of his white dress shirt. He was itching to cause trouble. "Dovol'no pozhaluysta?"Pretty please?

If she said no, he'd find his buddies and overturn a table by himself. He had to release this tension somehow.

Two years ago, she and Gray had their first real interaction, which resulted in him throwing plates at a mosp she had found to be passive and her shouting insults at him for angering it. If anyone had told her two years ago that she would be walking hand in hand, wholly smitten with that same boy to a ball, she would have said to them that they were just as much of a gobshite Stupid/incompetent person as he was.

She didn’t know how she felt about this ball, and if Percival had not asked her, she probably would not have gone at all. Yet, he showed up in the courtyard with chocolates and an orchid for her, and how could she say no? So last minute, she rummaged through her trunk and pulled out a dress that she deemed fitting to represent the same orchid he had given her twice now. After all, he had points. They were allowed to have fun, and he was right; they should. They were still just kids, even if it didn’t feel like it anymore after all they had been through. This month, only seventeen days away, would mark her fourteenth birthday over the Easter holiday. Almost four years at Hogwarts, and really it felt so much longer… Maybe they could create good memories from here on out instead of the ones that haunted them awake.

As she walked with him, one hand's fingers entwined with his while the other grasped the white rose locket that hung around her neck, the other nervous habit she exhibited when she couldn’t run her hand through her hair. Considering it was currently secured in a bun with some strands left out to frame her face holding her locket, it was. She took a deep breath as he spoke and squeezed his hand in acknowledgment and extra reassurance for herself as her other hand let go of the locket and fell by her side, feeling her wand hidden in the pocket she had sewn into the dress to hold it. “It would not be Hogwarts if we were not encased in some kind of chaos.”

But then he proved himself to be just the kind of charming that seemed to win her over. A smile graced her lips as she looked up from him at the doorway. “You keep that talk up, and I might find a patch of dirt to lob at you.” She winked at him before looking back out among the crowd that had gathered just as quickly as they always did. “Do you want to stay on this side of it or go to the courtyard side?” She knew even if they did leave the great hall, they would come back to it eventually for when the champions were called, especially since they both put their names up for it.

Seren shyly peeked her eyes into the Great Hall. She was carrying a covered dish of tteokbokki that she'd written to her paternal grandparents, to ask for. She had asked for it to be Vegetarian, though she was not sure if it was Vegan... But she thought it would be nice to have a dish for any vegetarians around, and it was one of her favorite dishes from her Father's side of the family. It had been a challenge to get it, as her Grandparents had been in London for a VERY short visit this year, so her window to write to them was limited. But they had pulled through for her, and she felt good that she had something to contribute.

She walked in, hoping her ankle length blue dress was appropriate. Not too formal, nor too informal. She had no idea, as she had not attended any events so far this year, having been far too nervous and shy. But she had been given this dress as a Christmas gift from the estate of her maternal grandparents, and it had felt like it would be ever so rude of her if she never found a reason to wear it. As such, she convinced herself to come to her first event at the school. Beyond that, she had her long hair pinned into a simple bun with gold pins that matched the décor on her dress, but wore no other jewelry than a few Roses of Sharon pinned over her ears. She had chose to keep her hair a deep indigo tonight, to go with her dress, and she hoped the unnatural color was not something others might object to.

She walked carefully to the tables with signs indicating that they were for the Potluck, and gently placed her dish there, lifting the cover off. She hoped the fact that it was a bit messy would not put others off. It was, after all, eaten as street food in Korea, and she thought it was utterly wonderful. She turned to take in all of the other dishes, her blue eyes filled with curiosity at it, but then moved away from the table, slowly moving towards the crowds of people here... She did not see anyone she knew, but that was hardly a surprise. She just hoped she found someone, some friend or such, to talk to. She was mildly terrified she would just end up hugging the wall, alone for the entire evening. She knew she needed to be more outgoing, try harder to interact with others.

She was just so constantly worried about rejection, or angering people. She knew she needed to grow past that, but her fears had been holding her back all year. Maybe, just maybe, tonight she could grow past that. She whispered, as she passed a beautiful bouquet of flowers, "Please, by the stars above and in Merlin's name, let me make it through this night having found a friend, at the very least."

As Edme's eyes trailed over the crowds of people, she was quick to take notice of the different kinds of ornate and creative dresses and suits, some bright florals while others had a dark and eerie glow to their fashion. It was beautiful and strange to see the different people all together in one room.

The sound of panting caused Edme to jump from their thoughts, turning quickly to find a familiar face breathing heavily. Vienna wore a long, light green dress complimented with butterfly clips and white flats. Edme immediately thought of a fairy.

"Oh, Vienna, I was just looking for you!" the Ravenclaw smiled, folding her hands around her waist. "It's not a problem. I was just looking around." By looking around, they more meant wandering around aimlessly and trying to avoid the people with soup-stained clothes. "Thank you! I had some help. You look amazing! That color suits you."

Edme would admit it took a bit of thought for them to find the right outfit. It was weird, as she often felt drawn to the things that made them feel pretty, like dresses and skirts. But other they couldn't drown out the liking for the more masculine of styles. So, with the help of Draven and his eye for good fashion, she compromised.

"There's a lot of activities. I heard there was a crafts table in the Courtyard. They really went all out on this event, huh?" Edme laughed a bit, always fond of how the school was so dedicated to their creative events and festivals.

They were never that good with words, whether it was casual conversation or a big speech, she would always admit to not having the right thing to say when she needed it. They had practically been worrying over this event for a bit now, considering what to say when to say it. It was like a script in the back of her head. They really did hope to go improv at some point during this ceremony, but for now it was timed and methodical.

tl;dr in reducio
Someday she’d learn. What she asked for, she got, beautified by the captive mouths of the finest Elizabethan corpses, because only the legendary dead could do Winnie Harper any justice. Levi considered it a rule: the moment one began to bond with her enigmatic, fantastical draw, they dropped lifeless and wilted to be categorized with the sonnet composers and the universe creators from whence she erupted. How the authors of the prior centuries knew to idolize her, Levi couldn’t understand, as then she was as much a figment of swollen desire as a winterless December. A tulpa of sorts, born thirteen years ago by the hand of generational worship.

She’d asked for a simple crown, woven of pastel florets foraged from the scattered hall floor and sewn into a single cohesive instrument, to string and pluck at the boy’s out-of-tune heart. In his ringed hands was a tiara, casting countless hours in its shadow. Years taken off his life, spent braiding small toy blooms into the gaps of its shiny metallic surface, and yet, tied with no regrets should she toss it to the side with the rest of his faux affections. A life not spent on his knees before her was a life not-very-well lived. He could make a religion from her cupid's bow and irises lined in light-blue scripture.

Unfortunately, it was the sole touch he was permitted for the outfit of the evening, hence why the details mattered so. Her curiosity outweighed his charm, and when a dress from Mathias was thrust into her (quite literally), there was little to save. Thankful for her communication, the brunet had forced a sympathetic grin, one growing less and less genuine with each strained practice. It was a number of sleepless, starless nights before he realized the benefit: the transition of power. A transition so real it could be touched, a texture of chiffon and silk and whatever else Katerina threw in the parcel. As a woman to uphold love in its most, well, legal form, Levi had no qualms thrusting the fate of their appearance upon good ol’ mom. Thorny suburbia on the other side of the family tree be damned.

His girlfriend, he’d written (resisting the urge to include an asterisk), needed a dress. She enjoys pink, strawberries, flowers, feeling like a princess, and unsavory men. Winnie was his focus, indeed, girlfriend was not terribly inaccurate, but to keep his options open was the fair game of a dog chasing cars. Like mother, like son. And, having dwelled in his brain behind silky cobwebs, having read “Sonnet 54”, Katerina knew what to send. A rosy, single-sleeved gown coated in vibrant lavender flowers. The ruffles lapped upward in the back to form a large delicate bow, layered downward until the filmy material rejoined the sweep-style train of the dress. It was very puffy, very bright, and oh so Winifred. It’d been a forty-five minute endeavor to find a way to safely leave it behind a locking charm in the bathroom. It’s hardly befitting that it takes only a sentence to summarize.

Upon entering the Great Hall, Levi’s gaze did not first flock to the darling decor or the pulsing firework display, but to the whirl of ebony hair in his peripherals. Santario, locking her perfect hand in a callous imperfect snare attached to Percival “Mattperce” Gray. Madness did as it did, its gravity-like descension, and a little push sent Santario into its darkest—hungriest—bloody spiral. Time stood still alongside him, staring into her, daring—no, begging—her to glance back to him. To his collar, to his lips, his skin and then to soak in the feeling of it she had to recall between her plush fingertips. Where her memory failed, his scar picked up the slack, chained to her teeth. An involuntary step in that direction, a craving….

Look at me. Look at what you did to me.

Winnie.

He tore himself away viciously, leaving bleeding notches on a layer of skin no one could see. His date was easy to find, building the scene on pillars of her frustrations and the foundation of a love engineered for a fairytale they didn’t live in. Mathias had completed the job for him by the look of her shoes forsaken on the floor. Levi rushed over, wielding both of their crowns in his tightened grip. Dressed as her prince, but perhaps more suitable attire would have been heavy silver armor as, in this tale, he was acting more of a knight. “Winnie,” he interrupted, shifting his eyes between the two in an attempt to read the situation. “I’m sorry to have kept you waiting. This,” He extended the tiara, “kept me running a dash behind.”

Ten things was not enough hatred. Securing his own crown onto his carefully tousled hair, he placed one arm in front of Winnie and drew his wand with the other. “Let’s not blow this out of proportion. He,” Levi was staring daggers into Percematt, a sequence all-to-familiar for the second Blossom Ball in a row, “has no right to ruin our evening. God, Mathias, didn’t you ever wonder why I chose to bring,” Nancy, Nina, Nicole, “Nikita to the ball? You were cruel. I thought maybe you’d finally let me be and if not…” Yes, he was ‘choking back tears’, “at least there would be a witness to the lengths you go.”

Utterly humiliating, not only to publicly admit to dating Percematt, but to feign any sort of sentimentality for their supposedly failed relationship. But it welded a tether to the hips of he and his bunny, it was security in the victimized position. The sacred bond of the fragile, reignited, manipulated, and misconstrued. “If I am forced to see you again this evening, anywhere near her, I swear I will do what I should’ve done last year.” With that threat, perhaps empty or perhaps overflowing with the most authenticity Levi ever knew, he would wrap his arm around Winnie to try and guide her a few feet away.

Whether she allowed him to or not, he would whisper something beneath his winded breath. Perhaps, to anyone else, an admittance that her heartbreak worked in his favor, was exactly the outcome for which he advocated, and it soothed him to watch her shatter at Pride’s hand. To Winnie, though, ideally, they were words of comfort and of a makeshift Casanova, a cushion for the thousand-foot fall she’d endured from the cliffs of the prime euphoriant: deceit. “My mother sent a dress. I’ve left it somewhere, if you’d like it.”

The Blossom ball while Alec had planned to skip it, he had found himself in an originally unseen set of circumstances that lead to his required attendance. The goblet, he'd put his name in, it was only right that he attended the ball, no matter how appealing the idea of a night possibly slipping out onto the grounds sounded. Attending a ball was not usually an Alec thing. He understood the point, yet at the some time not really. Usually he found himself at the edge of wherever the ball was watching everybody else. He felt odd, alone and by himself, secluded he felt he couldn't interact with or walk up to anybody he knew. They were busy, he should have been busy. The easy solution was a date though he'd never thought of it before. The last ball had been the best one he'd gone too because he had someone with him, but the worst for the same reason. Alec really should have gone out of his way to ask someone to attend together in a platonic way. He didn't. He wouldn't have known who to ask so at the very least it saved the third-year of such a headache.

Alec had been planning for the ball, short on time, when choosing what to wear he decided this time he was going to do something different. Usually he threw on the first thing that looked semi-formal and clean, but if he was going out of his way to attend he decided he may as well make as show out of it. He would actually try. He painted his nails for balls but that wasn't considered trying, the Gryffindor has decided he was going all out. He was putting effort into his appearance and he could admit as he walk towards the location that it felt good, he was thankful he did it. Putting in the effort made him feels less... blah. He felt like he was actually excited? Not just nervous. New. Alec was a new man going forward. He had an extra vote of confidence feeling he looked sharp.

Alec looked down at his nails with a smile. Of course he'd put the extra effort in there as well. The nail polish was blue and glittery It was his first time wearing nail polish with glitter. Glitter was sparkly and energetic, exciting. Alec had decided since he was a new man with this whole look his first order of business as a new man was being sociable at the ball .

He was attending and he didn't have a date, he may as well try to find a way to have fun. He needed to act less awkward, more charismatic, throw all his anxious thoughts away on the spot. He'd probably do fine, and if he don't it's not like he was memorable enough to have this permanently scar new beginnings with people... Yay! Awesome pep-talk.

Alec took a deep breath, nodding affirmingly towards himself as he entered into the ball.

School banners lined the walls, and flowery flowing decorations everywhere, tables with food, and the illusion of fireworks on the ceiling, it seemed to sway to the music. Alec could have taken forever looking around. He always appreciated the amount of effort it took to set up for a ball, know just how to decorate. The Gryffindor was aware part of it was his head trying to stall him. It should have stalled him sooner. A ball was too much, but dropping his name into the goblet wasn't?

The ball looked packed... Alright, Alec was slightly late, it was worth it. There was a lot going on, someone already trying to start a food fight, some red-head shouting, Henry who seemed to be hitting on two girls at once Alec didn't want to know what that one was about, also the first-years Burnett had suggested might be dating. He was right. Alec rolled his eyes. Speaking of the valentines event, the raven-haired kid was also here. Yes Alec had forgotten his name... How sad, he was the only normal looking one. Oh and there was Nicholas... Getting hunted down by a blonde? He sure looked like the prey.

There was more, why wouldn't there be? Alec was doing a full scope of the scene. Hanako Tone was one person adding to the more, and he was by himself. Alec watched from the sidelines an indistinguishable look on his face. He would find himself looking for no longer then a few minutes as Hanako's date arrived(Pea). Alec had seen the very public confession he couldn't think of many who hadn't. Though he'd had a feeling the girl was the type to not show up, she'd surprised him. Alec was hoping Hana would have a good night. He deserved to have a good night here especially after what happened at the last ball. Who knows? Maybe Hana did attract more people than the Enzo type. She looked elegant, and she certainly seemed less thick-headed than Enzo. Good for her. Alec glanced back.

Who was he kidding? He didn't trust anybody who seemed slightly better than Enzo, she(Pea) was a first-year he could cut her some slack, but Enzo is a low bar. Alec's eyes narrowed as he looked at her. He was going to keep an eye on them Hana did not need another bad date. He would do almost anything to make her seem okay even if she was worse than Enzo. Wait- oh great... Playing cupid, fun, this is what he was choosing to get himself into. Alec shook his head, and made a mental note to keep and eye on them. Alec's goal was having a good time tonight, he wouldn't focus on Hana all night, which is what had Alec finally decide to turn his attention somewhere else, someone else.

Wyatt, and he was wearing the nail polish, purple suited anybody, Alec had always thought the color complimented Wyatt's style. Speaking of Wyatt's style, he looked- well, he looked- . . . busy... Alec knew Wyatt was bringing a date, that they both had their own plans, he'd known for a while, so why was it that Alec felt incredibly slighted by it? Opeila was nice. More than nice. A saint in comparison to Alec and Wyatt deserved all of that. He couldn't believe he was talking about mushy stuff like this, from what he'd heard most people thought it was nice, no matter how much Alec did not trust it, if it was as everybody said it was, other people should have it.

The way she was holding onto Wyatt. He looked as if he liked it, even reciprocating it, pulling her closer. Wyatt liked her, fancied her even and Alec would suddenly find that he was victim to the universe's cruel joke. He deflated.

For once he wasn't thinking what his parents would say, or what people would think, what they would do. In the moment none of that mattered because, merlin, Alec was just realizing that he may in fact like Wyatt Starkey as more than a friend, fancy him even. And that was some of the worst news Alec could have ever received. A twisted trap, a sick fate. It was pain devilishly masked by feelings that make you... feel something. There was arguing, hurt and lies. Nobody every stayed together and nobody every stayed happy. It was unstable and unsafe, and it could all change in split second's notice. The thought was genuinely scary, but Alec could dream, he could play into everybody and their fantasies. Even if in some alternate universe liking someone didn't work like that; Wyatt could never, he would never be interested in Alec. They were just friends. It was all they would ever be. Feeding into insane things in his head wouldn't change that and suddenly make anything he'd just seen disappear. Alec would be lucky if him knowing what he did didn't already ruin something. Worse was if Alec wanted it to stay and be anything to Wyatt, Alec would have to accept that he was going to see something like Wyatt and Opeila again, even if the actions changed, or the person, it didn't stop Alec from feeling like he'd been trampled on by a giant, the feeling of his lungs restricting air and a pit in his stomach.

Was it crazy to say now that he knew, it didn't feel like much of a surprise..? He'd caught himself many many times this year, in his head on the edge of saying something he knew shouldn't have. He erased it from his mind, writing it out like a decent actor with a terrible script.

Alec relied on Wyatt for a lot, he wasn't going to add this to the mix. Alec knew now, so what? Poof, now he doesn't, simple. He wouldn't let himself fancy Wyatt. Alec would just ignore it, forget he had any feelings towards Wyatt at all and in spirit of not letting this happen, not letting it be a thing, Alec needed to stay here, continue on his night as normal.

Alec headed towards the buffet tables, making his departure away from all the people, somehow the buffet tables felt more secluded. He stood off to the side, keeping to his own when out of the corner of his eye he spotted someone who really should have stood out(Selim), with that they were wearing, it attracted attention, and yet their bleak mannerisms seemed to dampen out the rest of it, the attitude of person wearing it made them almost entirely invisible. In a twisted way, it was admirable.

Alec didn't know how he was going to pretend. He knew he was going to do it because he had too. He didn't know if he'd do it well. Or if he'd actually make it through the whole ball instead of leaving when the champions were announced. He fumbled with his wand for a second before attempting to cast a charm on himself, “Serenate” he muttered quietly. Magic could only do so much, he'd still let the cheering charm give itself a fair chance. It was either that or be insufferable all night. Alec had been using the charm so often in his own time he was beginning to feel barely human. He had a convenient spell and it worked most of the time making Alec also less insufferable for himself to deal with. The most the charm could do was numb him to it's effects, either that or the exact opposite, usually it went towards the grounds on not knowing what you were doing, Alec knew very well what he was doing.

When Alec had finished, whether or not the charm had succeeded he would turn his attention to the other(Selim). “Did you make it?” Alec asked, this was good, he had no idea what he was doing but he was doing something, all he needed was a small distraction and he didn't care what this one turned into. Alec realized far too late that his question wasn't very specific, and so he spoke up again and added, “Your mask... I haven't seen anything like it before.” Alec's head tilted to the side as he watched the other. It was peculiar he didn't notice such a person sooner, it would have saved many people lots of trouble if he'd notice the odd stranger near the buffet table first. “It reminds me of a book,”
