Edward remembered the promise he made a Ravenclaw girl as of the day of the Samhain ball, in the Room of Requirements, of ice skating, and revealing how much he loved Clair at first glance, and would murder anyone else who had the hots for her. This... co-captain of Ravenclaw's broom racing, she mentioned.
He smiled upon entrance, and seeing Clair, as he wore his crimson suit, with a dark red bowtie, and he made sure that his hair was brushed as it always was.
Ah if Clair had to look for someone more dashing, there was surely no one more handsome than Edward, especially looking in the mirror.
He brought his wand, and a note stating "Stare at my girl, lose a soul."
If Edward got to know who this person is that Clair likes, he was going to hand that person that note. Then Edward realized something, and it was too late to get anything, since they left Koldovstorez. Durmstrang was here, and Edward had nothing except his wand to hide behind, or to fight with.
After all, it's the thrill of the fight. And before doing what he was going to do next, he decided to attempt to conjure up a bouquet of black and blue roses with a gold tracing. "or-KID-ee-us" (Orchideous)
He looked at Clair in the eyes and smiled. "Hello my dear. How are you? I sure hope you haven't discovered any reason to hate me over the past several months!"Interacting with @Clair Fernandez

Mentioning:----------------------------------- Adelaide looked up in surprise, not really expecting anyone to come over to her. She was met with a familiar face: Pax Zhang. The two had met at the end of January in the Rehearsal Room, and she wouldn't exactly call the two friends, though they weren't exactly enemies either. Still, she wasn't exactly sure what had possessed Pax to come over to her, but at least she had someone to talk to now, she supposed.
"Pax, hi," she gave them a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes, "no, it's definitely not my scene. At all. I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for my mother sending me a dress accompanied by a letter than sounded a lot more like a threat than a suggestion to attend the ball," she studied Pax, who definitely looked a lot more excited to be here than Adelaide did, "I like your outfit," she said, which was probably the only compliment Adelaide had ever given Pax, "I like dressing up, but balls and parties aren't exactly my thing. I'd rather be back in my dorm doing some studying right now, but here we are. At least there's free food, though," she gestured to the table of food the two were stood beside.
Adelaide had never attended a ball before coming to Hogwarts, which would probably be a shock to other Pure-blood wizards considering most of them were expected to attend every ball they were invited to as soon as they could walk. Her mother had grown up not attending any prestigious Pure-blood events (though she claimed to love the balls at Hogwarts), so the woman had never brought her daughters to any of them either, no matter how many invitations arrived by owl. Adelaide definitely wouldn't say she was disappointed, as attending an event with snobby Pure-bloods definitely did not sound ideal.
"You look like you're having fun though, and I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you've either signed up or are going to sign up for one of the games," she raised an eyebrow at Pax in question. Adelaide could recall Pax being quite a childish and immature individual, and the 'Firewalking Obstacle Course' or 'Flying Torch Tag' sounded right up Pax's alley.

─────────────────────────────────────── HOGWARTS ────────────
| ── | Dray had spent about two hours in front of the morning the night before, painfully digging through his closet. First, the tie had been a problem. He'd bought one specifically for the ball so long ago, on the unexpected shopping trip with Edme. But the tie hadn't matched any of his cufflinks, white clashing with all the obnoxiously green jewlery Abbadon had bought him. After nearly an hour spent turning the room upside down looking for matching cufflinks, his hair had followed.
Not having a barber at hogwarts tended to be a problem when all you had was a knife meant for picking locks. He'd stood before the bathroom mirror with the knife in hand, debating whether he should even attempt to replicate the haircut before deciding that was an incredibly stupid idea and electing to tie his hair back in the impression of a manbun. The suit had also been a problem. Because if you wore fancy clothes every day of your life, when it was time to make an appearance at an event, repeating your daily fancy clothes simply made you look like a buffoon. The sight of Draven Mirador in a suit wasn't an uncommon one. Especially when it was a black suit. Which was why Draven had spent the rest of the time staring at himself self consciously, pulling at the tie, fiddling with the cuff links and feeling his stomach turn. "Girls have it easier." he'd grumbled in Cain's direction while the other was getting dressed. "They have dresses in all colors under the sun." Meanwhile they were stuck wearing black, white, or simply not going. And considering Dray hadn't seen the son in nearly a week, it was safe to say he was much to pale for a white suit. Walking into the ball however, cleared up his nerves the tiniest bit. He blended into the crowd if nothing else, walking amongst the other boys dressed in black and white. They were like penguins, the lot of them. Monochromatic and dull, but still managing to catch attention from bystanders. He nearly didn't recognize Juni. His eyes had scanned over the crowd, looking for the acid washed jumpier and stripped t-shirt he'd envisioned her wearing. Perhaps one of the hats muggles seemed so fond of, meant to shield from the sun but shielding her from nothing at all considering she sometimes wore it backwards. It was a certain style, and it suited her. Dray wouldn't have complained if she decided to wear a dress, but at the end of the day it was what made her most comfortable, and from what he'd gathered, dresses were not i- Draven's jaw hit the floor. Juni was not Juni. She was an ethereal creature that belong to the mists and the stars, dancing amongst whispering river creeks and speaking with creatures from the faewild. She was beautiful. Sitting at one of the tables and picking at something that looked edible. Dray wasn't about to chance it, but he could respect her bravery. She hadn't yet noticed him. The boy took the chance to slip beside her, dodging and weaving between two screeching harpies, one of which he'd spent an uncomfortable amount of time speaking with after bumping into her on a late night in the ROR. A shadow passed over his face at the memory, one he promptly pushed out of his head. "You look wonderful tonight." Draven said softly, taking a seat beside Juni. He'd shot up in the past couple months, getting yet another inch on her, something he hadn't noticed until that very moment. The customary greeting, a kiss pressed to the back of her hand, brought a smile to his lips. It was different with her. A gesture that meant more than cool politeness. "I still don't know your favorite flower, Ms. Kelly." the boy sighed, producing a single blue rose from inside his pocket. It had been cast in glass, the petals forever frozen in time. Beautiful. Immortal. Delicate. Usually, he would have presented her with something akin a beater's bat or brass knuckles. But this was the blossom ball, and he'd thought it appropriate. What was perhaps not appropriate were the two hairy legs peaking out from Draven's breast pocket. In Deimos' defense, he'd spent far too long inside of Draven's dorm room, and had grown bored out of his mind. So there he was, hitching a ride to the blossom ball. Was he perhaps hoping to meet a special someone? Who knows... |

River spotted her ball date after a few moments of searching.English | French
(wc 216)
"Hello Mister Florian LeRoy" she greeted, she watched as he bowed and offered his hand, she kissed it, like a proper lady.
"Thank you! you do too, are you looking forward to learning who the champions are?" she asked, she hoped that she would be one, but it was not likely, why would her name be chosen when there were way better wizards and witches out there?
River smiled, Of course! I would love to see what games there are, I'm sure there are some very cool ones" she looked around the room, part of her wanted to stay, and see if she could find her friend that she had sent letters with, she was hoping to see them at the ball, but she also wanted to go, to explore, if only there were maps for life, all you had to do was follow the line, and you'd be in the best place your life could be.
Deciding that Trix would find her somehow if they wanted to see her they would cross paths at some point, who knew if Trix was even here, the Hufflepuff might have not come, maybe they were doing whatever Hufflepuffs did.
"Yes Lets go" she said, mostly to herself.

Ari was starting to get concerned.
Why did he keep throwing himself into these social events? Was he asking for his anxiety to smack him in the face? That's what it looked like. If he kept this up, he was bound to actually enjoy these things. But was that a bad thing? He barely had any friends because he didn't really talk to people. Maybe he was subconsciously fed up with it.
Ari stood in front of a mirror and brushed his dyed black bangs out of his contrasting blue eyes. He adjusted his neck tie, trying to make it a little more comfortable. He was a little surprised to find that he had packed them in his suitcase when he'd left for Hogwarts, but the past months had been nothing but surprises so far. On that thought, he left the Ravenclaw common room.
His whole outfit was....black. Black dress shirt, black tie, black dress pants, black suit jacket, black sneakers. He was basically a ninja. But that was how he liked it. He was comfortable, and that was what mattered.
He walked to the Great Hall, not surprised to see a plethora of students flocking into the area. He stood on his toes and used his height to his advantage to scout out people he might be able to group with.
First was Juni. She was most likely with Draven, her boyfriend. Ari couldn't help but feel slight envy as to how perfect they were for each other. They were both gorgeous people, deep in love. It came so easily to them.
Eventually, he did catch sight of her, and he was not wrong. There was Draven, right there with her, kissing her hand. Would it be wrong to intrude and say hello?
He pushed the thought to the side and quickly found Clair, his teammate on Ravenclaw's broom racing team. She was also looking nice and...dancing with a stranger? Who was that guy? He wore a crimson suit with a matching bow tie. It was Ari's favorite shade of red, and he admired the guy from a distance. Not Ari's type, but the suit was nice.
Yeah. He was gonna sit the one out by himself for the moment, but he moved closer to Draven and Juni, giving them a small wave before losing himself in the decorations and lights, waiting for something to happen in his favor, whether it was someone else's actions or his own...but preferably someone else.

@Hanako Tone @Wyatt Starkey
Opeila was excited. She didn't know really if she had ever been excited in this way before a ball, as the times before, it had always either been a feeling of complete security or grave danger she had entered a Hogwarts ball with. Going with Wyatt, Opeila had no idea what the evening was going to be like, although she knew her housemate a little better now, he was still very much a stranger.
Getting ready for the ball had been less complicated than the last times at least, Opeila had decided to just do something simple with her hair. No flowers, no complicated hairstyles. The dress was comfortable, as were the shoes, although Lady Virtanen would have probably highly disapproved. But not Lady Margary. It felt weird at times to think about the opinions of both women, of which the latter was dead but far closer to the young Slytherin than her new guardian. Opeila's grandmother would likely very much approve of the choice of outfit her granddaughter had made. Elegant but appropriate for a girl of her age, although it wasn't deniable that Opeila was slowly becoming a young woman, rather than a child. Physically as well as mentally.
Opeila met Wyatt in the common room, one of the advantages of being in the same house. It was nice to be able to walk to the ball together, without one having to pick up the other at the other end of the castle or needing to find the other in a crowd that would surely already be there when they finally arrived at the ball.
Feeling a little awkward, Opeila had greeted him, suddenly worrying if the little make up she had applied looked silly somehow. She didn't know much about make up, it wasn't like she had a mother left to teach her and somehow she felt embarrassed to ask her dorm mates, so she had only applied a little eyeshadow and lipstick. No dark or strong colors at all, it was likely barely visible.
Twisting her hands, she had looked at her classmate, before, after what felt like an eternity, she finally managed to get out some words. "H-hi. Erm, you look great!" Was it normal to feel so weird? While Opeila wasn't that talkative, she usually managed to keep a conversation going, but she found herself struggling with it now.
Perhaps it were the circumstances? After all this was a ball and people going together were easily assumed to be dating by observers who were particularly thirsty for gossip. So maybe a bit of tension was just normal.
... Only that Opeila had not felt so tense with Zykeal for example, who had been pretty much half naked in his greek god outfit last blossom ball. She pushed the confusing thoughts away. "Shall we?"
Walking up to the Great Hall was hardly a moment of quiet or privacy, of course the corridors were filled with people, chatting, giggling and only a few walking on their own, in silence, sending more or less insecure smiles to the passing. It was then that Opeila realized that she had never gone to a ball alone. She had been abandoned at one, which had been uncomfortable, but she had always arrived with someone.
Was it uncomfortable to be without a date? Opeila imagined it to allow a bit more freedom to do as one pleased at the festivities, without having to be thoughtful of one's companion.
Reaching the hall, it was already crowded, what did she even expect? The decorations were beautiful, banners with what Opeila believed to be the banners of the different schools that had once again visited Hogwarts and flowers, and further away there were tables filled with food.
Looking around, Opeila unexpectedly met the gaze of another familiar student and a tiny smirk appeared on her face. Feeling bold, she stepped closer to Wyatt and whispered "Tone is watching. Will you play along, just for a moment?" Hoping she wouldn't embarrass herself completely now, she took Wyatt's arm, then looked back to Hanako. Opeila wasn't entirely sure what exactly she was hoping to achieve, but if it only shocked Hanako a little, she was satisfied.

Noah groaned with embarrassment. He had nothing good to wear. Not this year anyways. And Noah, well, he didn't have an appearance at last year's Blossom Ball, perhaps this year he could, but unless he could find something nice to wear, he wasn't going to be able to attend.
A few minutes of rummaging through his clothes, he found several things that could work. If he wasn't going to go in a suit, or hell, even a dress, he was going to go in character. The theme was Midspring right? That reminded Noah of Midsummer's night, and of Shakesphere, and that reminded him of the middle ages. Well... his costume now came straight out of the middle ages.
He was disguised as a Plague Doctor. And considering how he felt just a teeny tiny bit of mischief tonight, and no one would know who he was, unless he revealed himself by stating his name, or took of his mask. He was planning on keeping the mask on.
He figured he might as well just grab his cosplay staff, the one with a skull on it, and use it. Now, he was possibly going to be one of the few short people there, but well, on top of his Plague Doctor costume, and his staff, he might as well stick out some more and go grab his owl.
"Hey, Billy Maxipup, come with me! Come check out the Ball! It's my first time coming too! Come on!" He would stand near the Tawny Owl and feel him flying onto Noah. And now, Noah was heading to down to party! But before coming into people's views, he put on the mask.
And to make a big show or to at least grab some attention to him, he decided he was going to cast Metelojinx, and try to summon small black clouds and cause a sound of thunder. He so badly wanted people to know he was here. Someone is here to stand out. This someone is masked.

Clair noticed Edward after a few moments, heading towards him she smiled "hello Edward Dear! Why would I have found anything? What have you done mister?" She asked playfully, waggling her finger back and forth like you'd see the mums doing in the muggle movies.
"You look amazing tonight" she commented, looking at his outfit.
She looked at her own, no one would know it, but her wand was holstered at her side, in case she would need it, Rarely did the Ravenclaw ever go out without her wand, often she had it on a pocket, but, much to her sadness, this dress was pocket less, so her holster for racing would work fine and dandy.
She took a short breath, "How has you past months been? It seems like it's been ages sense we've seen each other, You know, I've been thinking about you quiet a lot lately." She paused for a moment, before changing the subject "did you cast your name in the Goblet? I decided not to, it only makes sense that I'd stay out of it, I do not wish to die. And besides, I've got Broom racing, so I've got my fair share of freaky fast flying."

The most handsome man has finally arrived on the scene. He pushed open the doors without hesitation and swooped in. Donning a bright orange Sherwani with white trousers, Arjan was ready. He had a pair of sunglasses on too. Of course, it was pretty unnecessary indoors but they might go outside later and he would likely need them. His hair was beautifully poofed up. Today, his date was obviously the most lucky date in the ball. She was about to be the date of the future winner of the Hexwizard Tournament. Yes. He had already decided that he was bound to be the winner. Anything short of that would be an outrage. The system would be rigged if he was not the winner. It was that simple.
As he entered, he spotted the goblet and smirked. His attention remained on it. Glory would soon be his, he knew that. Pressing his clothes down to make sure that he was presentable, for when his name was announced. He did not bother to bring anything for this potluck table that they spoke of. However, he did eye up the sign ups for the games. Both of them seemed decent enough. Maybe he could impress everyone by Firewalking. That seemed easy enough. Though, after having his quidditch skills insulted - even though it was definitely a lie - he pondered if maybe he ought to try the Flying Torch Tag instead. He could show everyone that he was good at flying and burning his enemies - I mean, flags of his enemies. As he stared at the sign ups, he contemplated which he should go for.
As he waited for his date, he pondered if maybe she would sign up for one. As far as he knew, she also enjoyed quidditch so the flying torch tag might be one that she wanted to do. This could be a good way of showing her just how incredible he really was and how lucky she was to be his date. Did he bother to bring a corsage or flowers or gift of some sort for her? No, not this time. None of those things even crossed his mind. In fact, he was mostly busy trying to figure out how to best her in this potential game of tag even though neither had signed up for it yet. Admittedly, he knew very little about her. Then again, did he actually need to know anything about a date? It was mostly just a bit of fun for one evening before moving on. As long as it was fun and entertaining, it was worth it.

Mandy bowed when Pax payed her a compliment, grabbing the ends of her dress like she was a princess. "Oh, thank you, Pax! You don't look too bad yourself." she said, taking a rose and sticking it in Pax's hair. "Consider this a "you-look-really-nice" present."
"Trix, huh? I'm gonna tell you this bluntly, but also as a friend, your looks aren't subtle."
"No I wasn't." Mandy sputtered, extremely red faced, before realising that the reply did not make sense. "uh. umm... thanks for the tip?" God. Why was she so obvious? She stuffed her mouth with food to prevent herself from saying anything else stupid.
"Erm...y-yep! Heh, fun," Mandy said quietly. "Won't burn to death at all. Safe, safe, safe..."
They wouldn't let them die...would they? They didn't want this ball to become a repeat of last year's ball. Well, she hoped so.
Mandy gave Pax a grateful smile. Saved by the Pax! She picked off where Pax had left off and added, "Yep. I have plenty of experience with brooms. I'll totally survive. Are you joining the flying one or the other one?" Mandy turned around to give Pax a goodbye wave as she went to talk to another girl before turning back to where Trix stood and forging fake confidence about facing possible death.
Mandy fidgeted nervously as Trix stared at her. Uh oh. This was the end of their friendship! She was going to die! She was-
"You.. You look... Amazing!"
Mandy's eyes widened when Trix blushed and complimented her. Instead of dissing her! Awesome!
"Oh, um..." Mandy said, trying to be casual about it. "I know. I catered my look so i wouldn't look hideous. Thanks for telling me it worked."
Her tone... ouch. Mandy was crossing the line from causal to unintentionally mean. She was trying to tell a joke, but it sounded awful coming from her mouth.
"Sorry Trix, i didn't mean to sound so mean. You look so pretty, even more than usual. You really do." Mandy said honestly, giving them a hug. "I'm lowkey jealous." she admitted.
Mandy turned to the other girl. "Hey Emma! Nice to meet you!" Mandy held out a hand. "Trix is correct- I am the best Gryffindor." She grinned proudly, puffing up her chest.
Even though Mandy had already eaten, she followed Trix over to the table and put some sushi on her plate- it was small, so it was perfect for eating. She plopped down at the table with Trix and Emma and opened her mouth to say something when she felt something small and furry brush her legs.
Mandy jumped. "Ack-" she said before looking down to see Mei Chan, licking her paw and looking annoyed, like Mandy had left her in the common room on purpose.
"Oh, sorry, Mei. Trix, Mandy, this is Mei!" Mandy lifted her up and waved her little paw in a cute lil' greeting. Irritated, Mei squirmed out of her arms and approached Emma and Trix carefully.
"She's my cat, I got her during winter break! Isn't she adorable?" Mandy squealed happily as Mei Chan weaved in and out of the kids' legs and around the chairs.
