Probably the last person that anyone would be expecting to see at the signups for a violent competition, Piérre Luigi Marchonné crept into the Great Hall with a Figaro stole around his shoulders. The silver Bengal was purring with happiness as he tangled his claws in the yellow and black Hufflepuff scarf his brother wore tightly around his throat and face. Piérre himself had his nose buried in the yarn, breathing quietly into it.

The boy had been rather absent the first half of the schooling year... But that hadn't meant that he hadn't been around. He had simply been less than active... Watching, if you would. Waiting.

Just like any other year, Durmstrang and the other foreign schools had come to Hogwarts to visit for this "Hexwizard Tournament". No doubt this was supposed to be an allusion to the notorious Triwizard Tournament which had had a revival during the years of the Boy Who Lived. This was a tournament for those who were brave, had great magical prowess, and probably had a death wish.

So here he was.

Obviously.

The Jester swayed through the room as if it were a spinning funhouse, gently breezing by others and twisting in such a way to pass by without touching anyone. Figaro would bat at individuals' ears and hair as Piérre passed by them in turn, making his way to the flaming brazier before him.

So. Much. Fire.

So little time.

With a flick of his wrist, Piérre slipped a piece of parchment from his sleeve into his left hand. On it was his handwriting in sloppy letters, only just barely legible from the shaking handwriting. He had been unsure if he had wanted to participate in this event...

But as they say; the show must go on.

He read it over one more time to make sure everything was in order, appraising it with sparkling emerald eyes which glittered with signature, if dampened mischief.
Name: Piérre Marchonné

Piérre stared at that last requirement and pulled down his scarf in order to chew his lip. He had mulled over this part of the application the longest. If he knew anything about these tournaments, especially following his participation in the Trial by Fear, these sorts of innocent questions often had terrible results for those mentioned. He didn't want anyone to be hurt for his sake. He didn't want anyone at risk.

Gently, he procured a quill with just enough ink on it to write a few words.
He tickled his nose with the feather as he considered his options.

Romeo, his brother. Their letters had become few and far between. A frightened part of Piérre thought that perhaps a schism was forming between them, formed by their differing ideals and experiences in these formative schooling years. Piérre didn't want to hurt his brother any more than he had already. Romeo never deserved that. He deserved so much more than an unstable twin rambling on and on about the horrors and evils that hid under the surface of his school.

Rafael and Evelynn, his friends, captains, and the ones he was determined to set up with one another no matter what. They were supportive... But just as he was now with his brother... He had kept them at an arm's length for a while now. He cared about them... But again, they didn't deserve his trainwreck of a person.

No. It had to be one other person, as the boy felt his heart beat a bit faster with nerves. He scribbled the name quickly and then threw the parchment into the fire before his right hand could stop the left one.

He watched the paper curl and blaze with brief light. His right hand almost reached into the flames, desperate to pat it out, draw his words back and laugh it off.

But no. For some reason... This was right. This was his special person. The one who knew what he knew, who understood what he felt. As if... As of they were meant to share a path.

A jester and a raven.

Permission to cast Lucietta's name into the Goblet granted by her writer @Everly Charlton.
𝕿he young Bourbon Heir knew that his cousin had already cast her name in the Goblet of Fire earlier today, and he was rather surprised to see how much Regina had changed since the last time he saw her when they had conversed. There was a new emotion inside her eyes after she'd filled out the form that Henri couldn't quite put a finger on, and it made him tick. They'd always been somewhat close since they were children, sharing the same struggles of an unaffectionate home life, but things had changed. It seemed that while Henri's darkness had only festered and grew stronger over the years, his second cousin's were slowly melting away by the new emotional attachments she'd succumbed to.
Pitoyable.(1)
Henri entered the Great Hall with long purposeful strides, two pieces of parchments clasped inside his palm as he made a beeline for the flaming Goblet. The blond French had thought long and hard about his decision, and had decided to tweak his plans a bit. While there was no doubt Henri wanted to join the Hexwizard Tournament for the challenge and recognition, he knew that the same couldn't be said for his 'friend', Lucietta Mahler. The girl was confident, but complacent. She would never cast her name on her own, and so Henri had taken the matters into his own hands to ensure that he would have a part in the Tournament no matter what. After all, Lucietta was simply a means to an end to him, even though that idiotic halfwit liked to believe in his good intentions. There was also the mystery of how similar they looked, to which Henri hadn't quite figured out the answer yet, but all in due time.

Ignoring the many blatant gawking directed his way (Henri was used to it by now, though he couldn't blame them, he was a handsome git), the Bourbon Heir unfolded the first piece of parchment with Lucietta's name on it, and with dark satisfaction, tossed it into the blue flames of the Goblet.
Name: Lucietta Mahler
Year: Second
School: Ilvermorny
Special Person: Henri de Bourbon
It mattered not that his actions were completely malicious by sending Lucietta into potential danger. Henri had never claimed to be a good person--his heart was rotten and he was incapable of human compassion. He wasn't just a pretty face, he was incredibly smart and he could come on with the most plausible explanation should the Ilvermorny girl be chosen. She was utterly foolish and forgiving--he'd gaslight her into thinking she'd truly wanted to join, but was hesitant enough that he'd stepped in for her, and that everything would be fine, he was listed as her special person so he'd be involved either way and help her from behind the scenes as much as he could.

Lucietta would have the glory, but Henri would be the mastermind behind her victory. It was the most devious plan he'd come up with, and he was extremely proud of it.

Now came to the parchment with his own name. Henri would be a fool to not put his own name in, as it was his initial goal before discovering the Mahler girl's presence. However, the blond hadn't known whose name to put in as his 'special person' at first. There was no one who would ever be worthy enough, and Henri Charles de Bourbon did not love. He only charmed, claimed and conquered. Other people held no meaning to him unless they were useful.

He'd resorted to putting Lucietta's name in the end. She was tolerable, at the very least, but she was the person whom he was close to being fond of--even though the fondness was fabricated for her sake.

Either way, his plan shall work.

Henri took one last zealous glance at the form bearing his name before tossing it in, and watched hungrily as the flames devoured it.

Jacob wanted to join as the Hogwarts Champion, but the Goblet of Fire must choose him. He must write his name on a piece of parchment and throw it into the flames before April 1st. If selected, there is no turning back. So he begins to write his name onto the piece of parchment.

He then wonders how his mother would feel about him being in the Tournament. She might be proud that he wrote his name in for the Tournament; he then thought that his mother once sent him a howler and that this would be the exact situation on her sending a howler at him again.

Jacob knew that the only way he would be able to enter the Tournament was if his mother didn't send him a howler, though now that he thought of it again, it wouldn't be due to the Tournament in any case. Jacob then wrote down that he was going to volunteer for Hogwarts.

As Jacob wrote the last of the parchment, Jacob put in Logan Baird, which no one knew. Logan was his new crush and seemed to be very special in many ways. Hopefully, with him returning to the Gryffindor Quidditch Team, he finally wrote the last of his parchment, and Jacob then threw it into the Goblet of Fire.

The Goblet of Fire. It was one of the two reasons Mahoutokoro had come to Hogwarts in the first place. The other being attending the Blossom Ball of 2022. He'd seen lots of students approach the goblet during the daytime and put their names into the device. And he'd been tempted to do so too. But one thing kept him from it. The last part of the paper. Special person. Who the hell was that for him? There wasn't one.

So what was he going to do?

Hiro had spent the past few days thinking about what to put down.

And eventually came to the conclusion that even though he didn't have a special person, it didn't matter. He could put any name down.

But what name should he put? He knew everyone at Mahoutokoro, although didn't know a lot from Hogwarts. Therefore, the most logical solution was to choose someone from his own school. But who? Lots of names scrolled through his head and yet he couldn't choose. Fuck it, he'd just pick the name of someone he'd recently been talking to a lot. Winnie Harper or Mathias Pride. He debated about his choice for a time or two.

Could he choose Winnie, even though he'd only known her for like one or two days? Or should he go with Mathias? Mathias was his roommate after all, so it made sense.

Eh, whatever.

There.

He'd done it. It was finished, completed. Hiro picked up the paper and tossed it into the Goblet, which flamed up for a moment and then returned to normal again.

Whatever happened, happened.

It was almost time for curfew, but he wasn't sure if Hogwarts curfew applied to them. Still, it was best to take precautions at another school as they were there as guests.

The excitement Tarja felt about putting her name in the Fiery Cup was akin to what she used to experience as a little child on New Year's Eve, waiting to see what Ded Moroz has left for her under the tree. She could barely fall asleep, too anxious for the next day to come. In the morning, she was probably the first one from the Koldovstoretz delegation to rise, even before the dawn broke. How early would they bring the cup out? Should she make her way to the castle already, and maybe be the very first person to slip her name in? She wondered if that would make the magical item prefer her over the others - was it charmed to be completely random, or did it somehow react to certain behaviours? Probably the former, if it really was as neutral as they were told it would be. No, sneaking out to the castle alone was not the best idea, even though it would be a thrill in itself - walking the unfamiliar grounds in the dimness of early morning hours. Having company and knowing there would be people to watch as she put her name into the enchanted cup was still preferable.

It was a torture to wait for others to wake up. She felt as though the clock hands weren't moving at all for those several hours. The first of her friends to emerge from his room was Vadimir; she pounced on the boy immediately, before he even had time to rub the sleep out of his eyes. "Finally someone's awake. We have to go to the castle, Dima! They will have brought out that Fiery Cup by now. I've written down my information already, how about you?" It must have been both irritating and surprising to see Tarja so hyped so early in the morning, when she was usually the last one out of bed on regular days. There was nothing regular about today, though; it might just mark the beginning of the greatest adventure of her life.

The distance from the campgrounds to the castle was considerable. Tarja would have wanted to jog all the way to their destination, but, given the fact that she had essentially denied her friend the time to properly wake up, she managed to restrain herself for his sake.

"Do you think the first people to put their names in will be favoured when the champions are being chosen?" she asked conversationally. "I wonder how many students already did that. Probably a lot." Everyone was just as restless about today as she was, right? No way somebody would wait several days to join this lottery for glory.

When the pair reached the Great Hall, Tarja barely noticed the floral decorations. Her eyes were locked on the massive flaming cup. There weren't as many people as she thought there would be - she had expected a huge crowd to surround the item of interest; instead, only a few handfuls of students were either standing around, chatting, admiring the fiery object, or putting pieces of paper in. The blonde made her way to the head of the hall, weaving her way through the students. "Excuse me- Passing through-" Her Russian accent likely drew some curious eyes; that and her outlandish uniform.

And then she was right in front of it. The cup was mesmerizing; she paused for a brief moment to take in its arcane beauty before pulling a folded piece of parchment out of her coat pocket. She had actually taken care to write the details into it neatly, instead of using her usual messy scrawl.

Name Tarja Akimovna Blavatsky
Year First
School Koldovstoretz
Special Person Vadimir Markovich Volkov

The requirement to name a 'special person' had been a strange one; even now she wasn't sure what exactly it was supposed to mean, and why they needed it. Would it be someone who would be reached out to should something happen to the champion - like a contact person? Or someone who could step in as a second if the champion was unable to continue? Or just a close friend who would, perhaps, even be allowed to help when preparing for the challenges? Well, either way, she chose Dima, since he was certainly suitable for two of those roles.

She stood on tiptoes and dropped the parchment slip into the cup, which seemed to burn brighter for a moment, as though fuel was added to its flames. Which, technically, it was, although it didn't seem like eternal magical fire needed to be fueled with pieces of paper.

It was done, then. Now all she could do was wait, like she did this morning. If a few hours until waking time was difficult to bear, she wasn't sure what to expect of almost two weeks' worth of anticipation. There would be a need for some diversions to help pass the time. She'd think of something.

"Should we explore the castle for a bit, since we already made the trip?" she suggested, already heading towards the exit. Of course, she had already done some exploration during the previous visit, but it was not nearly enough time to find all the interesting spots.

Koldovstorez was the first to arrive at Hogwarts. Naturally. Clearly it proved that Koldovstorez was worth it's reputation. Sure, it was a newer school, but was that really such a huge deal? Pfft. Well, now they had a real champion here to stand with Edward. Wanna know who it was? Clearly Edward. No one could match his strength! HE WAS A GOD! Well, the only way he thought of himself, but well, he was a god when he got onto his Nimbus 1500.

Surely everyone knew him? Right? Right? Or was he just a self conscious lonely young man who missed his horses back home? He attempted to force his treacherous brain to make his mouth form a shape as of a smile, as he was in the Great Hall, as he saw a large goblet. He remembered rumors of the events that happened like what? twenty years ago? His dad would love to talk about it, and it creeped Edward out. With that being the feeling he felt at the moment and what he was previously thinking, he didn't cheer like everyone else apparently did. Well, perhaps he ought to prove that Koldov is worth it as the clear superior school. And that he was someone that the girls could stalk.

Everyone hates Durmstrang. That was the only thing Edward remembered his dad say the day before he went to Koldov for the first time. Now, Edward wanted to prove that his father was correct. So, the time came to put his name in the Goblet.

Name: Edward Smith
Year: Second
School: Koldovstorez
Special Person: Edward Smith

He just had to add his own name to the Special Person since Edward was more of a, well, stare in a mirror and want to marry the reflection of his own handsomeness. Could he help it if he was so handsome? Could you believe that the day was only March 20th? Ah well, let's hope the Goblet favored the true spirit of the Hexwizard Tournament. Hell, there should even be poitrats all over with Edward's divine spirit. He was worth it! Just because he owns horses doesn't mean he spends his day shoveling poop.

Cyrus had known before leaving Ilvermorny - he would put his name in the Goblet.

He had a few questions, which he kept to himself. He was staring at the flames licking the edge of the cup when the thought came to him: Why a goblet? Why not call it the Charring Chalice or the Crackling Cup? Goblet of Fire had less of a ring to it… and yet here he was, in awe of it despite its awful naming.

Cyrus was fine with writing his name on a piece of parchment. He knew how to do that. He did that on a daily basis.

Name: Cyrus Darsel

The rest was easy enough, he supposed, and he rolled his stick of graphite - not a PENCIL. A STICK of graphite - over his knuckles before writing:

Year: Fourth
School: Ilvermorny

Then he thought about the next. Special person. That was so vague. Cyrus was a very special person. Anyone was special to someone. There wasn’t really any such thing as ‘not special’ because everyone was unique, but then that got rid of the idea of specialty because then everyone was the same. So really there were no special people, or so Cyrus thought.

Then he devised that the question must have meant someone special to him. That was different. His Aunt Teresa was probably one of his favourite people. She was incredibly special to him. She cared about him.

So did his friend, Thea. His only friend, but a friend nonetheless. He cared about her a lot and wouldn’t want anything to happen her. This was probably to make sure that someone special to any potential champion didn’t get hurt.

Special Person: Thea Knott

The boy carefully folded the paper before slipping it into the goblet, still marvelling at how the flames soared but didn’t seem to hurt him. He stared at it, mesmerised, but then turned, and with a heavy sigh, left the Great Hall.

The Hexiwizard Tournament was quite unlike any other contest that Elena had been thrust in before. For one, her previous experiences didn't invovle a massive, glowing goblet that had appeared in the middle of the Great Hall and from her observations, it seemed to be devouring those curious little paper slips that students gave to it. Clearly, that was the way to enter this contest that Elena Jangleton still had reservations about. She had heard about it non-stop, not a second had passed that the topic was was mentioned and not even the common room was safe from all manners of discussion about this curious little endeavor. Of course, the Gryffindor girl was well-versed with this tournament's fated past when she had gone to read about it and the thought it was making a reappearance didn't exactly comfort her.

After all, Hogwarts didn't exactly have the most cleanest reputation when it came to school safety and organization. Still, as her eyes watched people depart from the observing crowd to put their name up for the challenge, a part of her wanted to be involved too. Elene had been in many situations before, a train crash, ball fiascos and even a somewhat living maze and she reckoned that was a pretty good resume to qualify her for this tournament glancing down at the empty slip of paper that rested in her hands still empty and unfilled as she fiddled with her quill debating on what to do. The brunette usually was a sideline person but this was different, a chance to get a first-hand experience in something if she had read that text correctly hadn't sprung up in more than a century.

It was a rare opputurnity and would probably make for even better stories later down the line, courage and boldness wiped out calm and rational thought as Elena nodded to herself and began jotting down the answers to the questions that loomed out at her. Some of them were straightforward though she had to pause at the inquiry of a special person, two people really came to mind and that was either Lamik or Adlai. She didn't know why they were asking and for a moment, she debated between what to put but as she glanced at the goblet, she decided to put her faith in this little slip of parchment and a goblet that held so many chances and potential for those hopefuls as she filled it out and weaved her way through the growing crowd dropping her name in with a inhaled breath before darting out wondering what was about to happen in the next coming weeks.

The Goblet of Fire. Whoever put their name into the goblet had a chance to be chosen as a champion in the Hexwizard Tournament. As a first year, Kim didn't think he would put his name in because it was highly unlikely he'd be chosen. There were so many upperclassmen that probably wanted to participate and the goblet would most likely choose them. It made perfect sense to him if he sat down to think about it a bit.

After all, wasn't there a reason why the goblet hadn't accepted first years before Potter? It was too dangerous for first years. Or at least that was what people thought.

And yet, that was precisely why Kim wanted to try his hand at it.

Still, he did have some misgivings, which was why he was hesitant to put his name in. But as time passed and the goblet eventually appeared inside the Great Hall, Kim started to wonder. Maybe he should put his name in it, after all, if he was chosen it would be the start of a great adventure. But maybe not... Kim made a face and closed his eyes as he reached up to rub his forehead. He didn't know what to think of it now.

However, his curiosity won out in the end.

And he started to write the information down on a piece of paper for the goblet.

Until he came to the last part. Wait, special person? What was this? For some reason, an image of vanilla caramel skin and molten chocolate brown eyes came into his mind. Kim groaned as he tried to brush aside Felix's face. Stalker just didn't seem to give up and always tried to track him down. Yes, he'd nicknamed Felix to be Stalker, at least inside his own mind, even though by now he knew his actual name was Felix Jeong.

Such a pretty name.

But he was so used to calling him Stalker in his head that it was hard to change.

Lost in his thoughts, Kim didn't realize he'd written down Felix's name onto his paper. And because he was standing in front of the Goblet of Fire in the darkness, staring off into nothingness, that allowed someone to run into him. It wasn't a particularly hard bump, but it was enough to make Kim lose his hold on the paper. He blinked, coming back to the present and looked over at the person who had run into him. Who was it?

Oh, for the love of god...

It was the last person he wanted to see right now.

Kim made eye contact with Felix and then immediately dropped his gaze, not wanting to get caught again. And that was when his eyes alighted on the paper on the floor. There were two pieces. One was his and one was Felix's. But Kim's was lying face upward and he could clearly see what was written. Special Person: Felix Jeong. He panicked and shot downward like a missile, reaching out to grasp the paper and hide it.

How????

He knew Felix would probably want to see what was written on the paper.

Especially from Kim's reaction. But he couldn't let him see it! How could he get rid of it? Kim acted instinctively and quickly threw the paper into the Goblet of Fire. And then he turned around and booked it towards the door, vanishing within seconds. It was only after he raced around the corner, hitting his elbow on the armor of one of the statues in the hallway, that he realized what he'd done. But it was too late to take it back now.

Shit, well it looked like Felix was going to be his 'special person', whether he knew or not. Damn, why was his heart pounding so fast??? Calm down!!!

Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, Jorah nervously clicked the wooden beads he wore around his neck as his wrestled internally with what to do. It was getting late, slowly the Ravenclaw common room emptied of its inhabitants as they filed off to bed, but in the corner Jorah sat alone, ticking away. -You could die... -everyone dies. -What would your poor mother say? -What a bad ass... -or dumb ass. -No one takes you seriously, you're a terrible wizard, you don't belong here. -I get decent grades. -Grades mean nothing, you can't cast a spell to save your life. -Magic isn't everything, mom can't do magic, she does alright. -Mom is a muggle, she's not expected to be do magic, you are. Get your shit together, or go back to muggle school. -Atleast I had friends there. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Jorah contemplated how in his three years at Hogwarts he had many acquaintances, some friends, but not a best friend..,at least not anymore. -If I competed, everyone would see me. It would be easier to make friends.

Jorah felt lonely, he missed home. His thoughts lingered on trips to Brighton Beach with his family. Playing video games with his friends. He missed Netflix, he had a lot of catching up to do on Supernatural. As he thought of his favorite tv show, the nervous ticking became more rhythmic. Ti-ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick...ti-ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick...ti-ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick. Jorah softly sung to himself, "All our times have come," ti-ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick, "Here but now they're gone," ti-ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick, "Seasons don't fear the reaper, Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain," ti-ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick, "We can be like they are," ti-ti-tick ti-tick ti-tick, "Come on, baby...don't fear the reaper." At that final line, Jorah made up his mind. He grabbed his quill and jot down the following
Name: Jorah Moussa
Year: Third
School: Hogwarts
Special Person:
Ruthie Greer was the only name he wanted to put down, but she was gone. After all this time, she was the closest thing he had to a best friend at Hogwarts. A wave a grief washed over him as he remembered how it was her that was waiting by his bedside for him to wake up at St Mungo’s. They laughed over Bertie Botts and she had bought him a plush phoenix from the hospital gift shop, Joaquin the Phoenix. Jorah's eyes swelled, and he all but shed a tear. Don’t fear the reaper.

That was a long time ago. He was older... taller... and finally winning at Quidditch again, sporting a Silver Arrow no less. His Quidditch team was becoming his people. Jorah scribbled down a name, tore off the bit of parchment he needed and rushed down to the Great Hall before curfew was called.
