Beauxbatons

It took Beauxbatons longer than most to arrive, having left the pyrenees mountains Thursday morning they would not arrive in Hogwarts until 3 in the afternoon. Pulled by a team of Abraxan, a convoy of about a dozen ornate carriages would land in the courtyard that was emptied of students approximately 20 minutes before the school's arrival.

The carriages would land gracefully but would fill the open space. Once the students were allowed ingress into the courtyard they would find the area to be congested. At least one would think so, but as the students vacated their vehicle without their luggage as there were "people" (or elves) for that, the carriages would shrink significantly in size and the driver would tend to the tired abraxans. They had earned their single-malt whisky.

Their luggage less their carry on would be attended to, this was a time to make an entrance and to enchant the students from the other schools. There was a lot going into this particular gathering, little did the students know. The impending announcement of the Triwizard Tournament had drawn the administration from schools around the world to a singular location, not for the sake of cooperative play but rather for victory. This was their opportunity to lord their success over the other schools, to show the world that their wizards are superior. That game of eventual advantage starts now.

The students would be well-rested and well-fed, finger foods and satin covered pillows would define their journey. Their professors (faceless NPCs please) would start fussing over them about 30 minutes before arrival -- button your jacket, do something with your hair, refresh your lipstick and mascara. Appearances were everything, they were first impressions in most cases and only impressions in some. They had abilities and skill which defied their good looks, they were more than a pretty face or a charming teen, they were cut throat and capable. They were absolutely brutal and hardly the pretty princesses that were in need of rescue.

There was a cold wind coming from the east. The skies were dark and grey, the threat of an impending storm loomed over them. Yet the heavens would hold back, this was not their time.
Arrived via flying carriage pulled by a team of Abraxan.
Day 1 (Thursday) -- students left at 0900 after they enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. The carriages loaded by house elves. At 1300 they landed in Regional Natural Park of the Marais Poitevin and enjoyed a picnic lunch. At 1500 they resumed their journey and stopped in Granville where they enjoyed a dinner at a wizard-run fresh fish restaurant at 1900. They would take flight once again at 2100, they would finally land for the evening in Bournemouth, England at 2300. They had rooms booked at Repose, a pureblood run establishment overlooking the English Channel.
Day 2 (Friday) -- The students would return to their carriages at noon, being allowed to sleep in and enjoy breakfast and lunch at at bistro also wizard run that is adjacent to Repose known for their tête de veau and couilles de mouton, but it is more likely that most students stuck to tarte tartan and duck confit. They would stop in Liverpool at 1600 where they would enjoy a light dinner with traditional English fare. While not pleasing to most palates, they enjoyed a family style meal of varied English delicacies. They would take flight at 1800 and fly until midnight. They would end their day in Glasgow, Scotland where they would stay at The Stray Dog, a 'charming' (not fancy) inn run by wizards.
Day 3 (Saturday) -- The students would leave again at noon, being allowed to sleep in and enjoy breakfast and lunch at a farm to table establishment nearby or sight see. From here, they would take their final flight to Hogwarts. When the carriages crossed over Hogsmeade the adult staff would announce the impending arrival and fuss over the students. They would ultimately arrive at 1600.

Being the second school to arrive, you can be present for Durmstrang's & Ilvermorny's arrival in character.

She did not have great expectations for their arrival, having followed Koldovstorez's arrival she expected to see an array of pretty boys and girls that should be part-Veela. Their personality, a mixture of hottie and menace, making most of them a sad cliché. Yet she would come all the same, curious and hopeful that something of interest would stir something within.

They would be ushered out of the courtyard and Erin would protest the direction but would comply and be thankful she had. There would have been no space, she would have been flattened. Hell, it was a shame someone was not too curious or defiant and she could see what happens with a flying horse runs down a petulant tween.

"A long way to come just to be disappointed," she would comment out loud as she approached the carriages and the foreign students emerged. As expected, most of them were painfully lovely. She would take a few steps back from the incursion of French people, the presence of so many alien wizards gave her the inclination that she should treat them with caution. Unknowns. She did not fear them, after all they were simply French. No, she needed to study them like the strange, frilly creatures they were.

Just a trick of the lighting they said...

𝕾tepping out of one of the leading Abraxan carriages was none other than the dashing young Bourbon Heir, an almost menacingly handsome smile on his face as his grey eyes settled upon the majestic Hogwarts castle and its bustling students who were eager to see the beauties of Beauxbatons. He supposed he shouldn't blame them--after all, Henri was very much proud of his otherworldly appearance and he would rather not be associated with any other magical school that did not hold the stigma for having ethereal pupils.

The blond French brushed off an imaginary dust on his Bleu Céleste uniform with his right hand before running it though his hair, flashing a charming grin at a few pretty British girls and boys standing nearby with a wink. While Henri's main goal in coming to Hogwarts was to establish a place for himself within its social ladder and make a few connections to add to his entourage, he was feeling quite eager to meet with his darling cousine Regina. All they ever did was writing owls to each other and only meet face to face during the holidays where the Bourbons and the Millers hosted family gatherings. Henri was curious about the new...companions his second cousin had gained throughout her second year, and wanted to see for himself just who were the people that had managed to thaw Regina's frozen heart and became friends with her.

Henri held back a sarcastic snort at the thought. Even though they shared many similarities, he would never allow himself any emotional attachment. His cousin's actions would one day prove to be foolish when her feelings would override her rationality.

The Bourbon Heir straightened his form as his eyes glinted. No, he would not be like Regina. He was here to become more influential, and to join the Hexiwizard Tournament and bring honour to Beauxbatons, establishing dominance over the other schools. And on that goal he shall focus zealously.

The practiced and sharp frame of a well-mannered student emerged from an elaborately decorated carriage not far from the front of the other carriages. A member of the richly esteemed line of pure blood french folk, Castor Alarie held herself in a manner that only spoke reclusive yet polite.

The students that were dotted around the great castle were a sight that would one day be burned into the head of Ms. Alarie, a memory that could either be passed off as beautiful or stressful. Either way, the French girl had learned stress from the effortless slap it inflicted upon its victim, so she knew her way around it. And besides, her anxiety could be easily drowned out by the excitement of seeing her dear old friend again since... well, awhile.

She didn't really intend on making any concrete relationships while at the school. She was never good with making new friends, or meeting new people, or really just people in general. It would be easiest for the Hogwarts students as well as Castor if this meeting was simply business. But wow was the place tantalizing.

Castor took notice of the fact that many plants grew wildly around their place of parking. They seemed careless, twisting and stretching around the stone like snakes. Leaves rustled in the small breeze that protruded from the sky above, an ominous yet relaxing melody.

Raphael had spent the journey quiet in the back corner of his carriage, dozing when he could manage. Not interested in reading nor in talking to any of his peers, being forced to sit still in an enclosed space with no chance of escape for hours on end was close to torture for him. Had he been offered the choice to ride beside the carriages on his broom instead, he would have taken it.

The long journey had been tedious, but at least it had allowed them time on the ground in between, to stretch his legs, go for a run. Had he ruined his sleep schedule trying to stay awake as long as possible so as best to sleep through the time locked into the carriages? Quite possibly. It hadn't really worked, as magical as riding in a flying carriage sounded, it was a rather bumpy affair, and Raphael would have had to be near comatose to sleep through that, satin covered pillows or not. There was a stain on the sleeve of his uniform where an unexpected jerk had caused him to drop the finger food he'd been holding. He'd stayed away from the snacks after that, and while he theoretically knew the spell to clean his jacket, magic wasn't really his thing. So he'd left it.

The rest of his appearance was neat, although in no way extraordinary. Tidy uniform, hair combed to the side, well enough that their teachers had left him alone in his corner, as was preferred.

As he climbed out of the carriage, he found a crowd waiting. It was no surprise. He supposed the may have been here to greet their guests, but for many that was probably just an excuse to gawk. At least the flashy peacocks out front such as the Whiskey boy would draw their attention, and leave Raphael free to inspect the castle instead.

There was some curiosity to his gaze as he turned his face up, looking at the towers. They weren't as pretty or graceful as Beauxbatons, more rustic, vines growing up the stone in places, but Raphael found he preferred that. He also liked the expansive grounds they had flown over before landing. He'd heard stories about this school of course, their volatile students and the chaos they called, but also their more than capable Quidditch and duelling teams, not that he cared too much about the latter. The broom race last summer had been won by a Beauxbatons student, after all.

"A long way to come just to be disappointed." A nearby voice, speaking in English, drew his attention from the castle. One of the aforementioned gawkers. Raphael took a moment to understand, the unfamiliar dialect throwing him off, then he frowned lightly. Disappointed, by what? The castle? The people? The result of the champion choosing ceremony?

The latter was, of course, why Raphael had chosen to join this excursion while he had stayed home from previous visits. Was it likely he would become champion? No. He'd be terrible at it, too, not skilled in magic and unwilling to deal with the social aspects. But he couldn't deny the draw of the competition, and casting spells didn't have to be the main point of it all, right? Who knew, so here he was.

He was still staring at the girl, blonde and pretty, confusion slowing his reaction and numbing his (barely existent) sense for social interactions. He didn't intend to reply, was simply wondering over her words. He wouldn't be too disappointed if he didn't get chosen; it was expected. So what was the disappointment she was so certain of? Perhaps time would tell.

Ye-jun didn’t mind the long journey. He was used to travelling and he was used to travelling the muggle way. Was it something he looked forward to? No…but the goal was absolutely worth it. He was going to meet his cousin soon and contrary to the opinion of some of his classmates, he actually liked Hogwarts too. His first ball here was a disaster but he held onto the hope that this one would be better. Of course, it was not just the social event that intrigued the boy. The Triwizard Tournament was happening this year too and honestly? Ye-jun was tempted to join in. This was not a decision that should be made lightly however and so he promised himself to think it over first rather than rush into it as soon as the goblet appeared.

Carriages were not far from Hogwarts when the adults started fussing over their students. None of them had to criticise Ye-jun though. He always made sure to look his best. “This is where we part ways.” He told Sébastien once the convoy safely hit the ground. They’ve been talking thorough the journey and the Korean boy felt like this could potentially grow into a strong friendship. They were not quite there yet, both seriously lacking in the trust department, they approached the new bond rather carefully. “I’ll see you around.” He nodded at the boy before confidently stepping out of their carriage. Permission to godmod Sébastien given.
Now…where was she? Ye-jun didn’t have to search for too long. His cousin promised to wait for him in their last letter and she kept her promise. He would recognise her anywhere. “Eun-ji ya!” The wizard called out as he marched towards the Ravenclaw. She was smiling at him fondly and he couldn’t help but smile back. This was probably quite unusual sight for people that knew him. He was popular and generally polite but nobody would describe him as friendly. He kept everybody at arms length and it was pretty rare to see him smile. He didn’t care about any of that now however. The boy was just happy to see her. Once he was close enough he spread his arms, inviting Eun-ji for a hug. She was not a hugger, he knew that much. Ye-jun wasn’t overly affectionate either but his family was an exception to that rule. Unfortunately, his cousin grew up with their Korean grandparents and so physical affection was even more alien concept to her. This was precisely why he simply dared her to do so. He wouldn’t be offended if she didn’t go for the hug but it was worth a try.

Eun-ji was excited. One wouldn’t be able to tell from her expression but she definitely was. It has been couple of months since she last saw her cousin and she couldn’t wait to talk to him again. They exchanged letters of course but it was always better to hang out in person. The boy was her family and one of the few people she fully trusted. This time, knowing he was coming in advance, the girl didn’t even bother looking for a date. Instead, she asked the two people she let down last time to go with her. The two being her cousin and her friend Lucia of course. In all honesty, it was a win win situation. Ye-jun was apparently not too eager to look for a date, Lucia was a great dancing partner and Eun-ji felt comfortable in their company. Let’s hope this ball actually goes well. Last time she went with Lucia, it ended up being a pretty fun event without any freaky accidents. Perhaps she brought some luck with her? A silly though really.

The Ravenclaw came to the courtyard just as the convoy of ornate carriages slowly started descending from the sky. She promised Ye-jun to wait for him and there was no way she would break that promise. Surveying all figures gracefully exiting their fancy confinement, Eun-ji tried to spot the familiar face. It was not that hard really. Her cousin stood out enough for her to recognise him immediately and it appeared he didn’t have much trouble either. She did not want to mingle with the crowd and so she just decided to smile and wait for him to come to her. When he did, he spread his arms, obviously expecting a hug yet he did not pull her in. The Ravenclaw was grateful for that, it was always awkward when somebody did that to her. Still, Ye-jun was her family and she didn’t want to disappoint him so she eventually decided to give in, stepping into the hug willingly. “It’s nice to see you again.” She said softly before letting go of the boy. The embrace was short but the boy looked awfully proud of his achievement. “Ugh….stop it. I swear I’m never doing that again.” The witch said, faking annoyance. He would know she was not serious. They both liked to bicker like this.

Gemima hurried into the courtyard, and squeezed through the growing crowd of students. She had missed the arrival of Koldovstoretz, but she didn't want to miss Beauxbatons's. There was a sense of familiarity about the French school, especially since she had visited France a handful of times before. She'd heard stories about how elegant and poised the students were, as well as how gorgeous their school was. Besides, she'd passed some of the Russian students in the halls, and let's just say she had a feeling the French visitors would be less intimidating.

Just then, a dozen ornate carriages swooped down from the sky. They were each pulled by a pair of gigantic, but handsome white winged horses. The powerful beasts carried their passengers quick through the sky, but touched down gracefully. Gem's voice soon joined the others as her fellow Hogwarts students crowded around the carriages in excitement. One by one, the doors swung open, and several lads and ladies stepped out from their vehicles.

They were all dressed in powder blue from head to toe. Gemima let her eyes linger on the girls' uniforms, and wondered how she would look in that fine blue silk. She dropped her gaze from their clothes, and started scanning the many faces for one in particular.

She hadn't come here to ogle the prim and proper, as tempting as that was. No, she'd come to find a dear friend of hers. Gem craned her neck, and searched for Castor's signature shaggy black hair among the fray. They'd spent a good deal of time together during that summer trip to Paris, but letters can only suffice for so long. Nothing yet... Gem sighed and paused to tie her long hair into a ponytail.

As she looked around one final time, she suddenly spotted a familiar slender girl studying the vines climbing up the walls. Gemima gasped and hurriedly pulled her hair through the tie. "Castor!" she cried, waving frantically. "Over here!"

Castor had quickly decided that the spiraling vines were much less interesting than meets the eye, and she settled on studying her nicely cut nails. Through the small crowd of students that still meandered around the school, a familiar voice called out her name. Turning around, the petite Gemima Sable stood waving her hands around and calling out to Castor.

"Gemima!" Castor smiled back, hurrying over to greet the other girl. Her English had improved greatly, but her roots were still fresh in her accent. The two had been exchanging letters after meeting at a large department store back in France, and hadn't seen each other for quite a bit since. As Castor wasn't one to have many people she could consider friends, Gemima was someone the French girl considered a big part of her life. She let the small facade of put-together wealth fall to say hello to the other. "I didn't see you over there. Quite a crowd has collected."

Gemima looked a noticeable amount of older, though not too much could change in just a year. Castor hadn't approached the castle to marvel at the exterior, but it was admittedly quite impressive. However beautiful or clean it may be, she couldn't bring herself to compare it to greatly to Beauxbatons. She had an undeniable love for her school.

"How have you been?" she asked Gemima, more out of curiosity than politeness.

"Oh, I'm doing fantastic! School's gone better than I imagined."
Gemima beamed, and linked their arms together as she led them a little ways away from the bulk of the crowd. "It's so good to see you again," she sighed. "I hope you enjoy your stay here! I know I have, anyways."

The constant chatter of the students around them faded to a pleasant hum as Gem focused on Castor. They had both grown since they last saw each other, but her friend looked just as elegant as ever. She looked much more comfortable too, as her usual constrained, prim attitude was missing from her expression.

"Well," Gemima chirped. "How was the voyage over here? I can't believe you get to travel with those beautiful horses! I'll have to sneak a peek at them later--do you know what breed they are?" She was rambling a little bit, but she was just so excited. The night atmosphere and the flood of children in the courtyard was rubbing off on her. Gem allowed herself a look at the fancy carriages, and the winged horses, who were now drinking out of barrels of amber whiskey. Fascinating!

She turned back to Castor, her eyes sparkling. "I can't wait to show you around! Oh, and if you'd like, you can meet some of my other friends. I'm sure they'd love you."
Gem flushed slightly as she suddenly realized how much she had just talked about. "Ah, but enough about me," she said. "What about you? How have you been holding up?"
