Vienna had always had issues with focusing. It was never really a problem, who cared if the professors yelled at her, or gave her detention for goofing off? It didn't actually affect her. But the one thing that did affect her was the idea of becoming a Hogwarts dropout. First of all, it would be embarrassing, second of all, well, it would just be bad. For her future. And Vienna didn't usually think about the future.
So the one thing Vienna could focus on, when she really tried, was homework. That and not failing. But her brain was not cooperating. She frowned, leaning over a pile of potions books. Think, think, think. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
"Gosh brain, why do you have to be so stupid and empty," she whispered, gripping her hair. She groaned dramatically, collapsing into her chair. "Alright Vienna, you have to get this done," she whispered aggressively, slapping herself right across the face. A little too hard if she did admit. "Ow," she winced.
Note to self: never do that again, she thought as she picked up her quill, ignoring the stinging coming from her cheek. She breathed, bringing her quill closer to the paper. List the ingredients of this potion. She nodded, easy. She flipped to the page, copying the ingredients down.
"YES!" She whispered to herself, pumping her fists. Progress! Only nine questions to go, she'd be done in no time! Next question.
What is the use for this potion? She paused. They learned that, she'd heard that question before. Think. What had the professor said again? Exterminating... no. That wasn't it. Healing... healing? Was it healing? She tapped her quill on the parchment as she thought. She hesitated, looking back down on her parchment. Oh, crap.
She stared down at the multiple dots that she had tapped across her paper in the process of thinking, now filling the space that was supposed to be the location of the answer to the very question she had just been thinking about. In a panic, she took her sleeve, attempting to smudge the ink off the paper. Oh, no. That was a bad choice. She sighed, looking down at the smudged mess. Wait.
It kinda looked like a dragon. She paused, taking her quill and outlining the edge. Her hand traced the smudge, slowly forming it into a happy-looking dragon, complete with a breath of fire coming out of its mouth. Vienna giggled, proud of her accomplishment. She moved to the side, sketching the outline of an armored knight, sword in hand, ready to fight the dragon. Oh dear, she was getting distracted again. Oh well.

She slowly sat down in the chair. She had homework on her favorite class, potions(!). God thought I could be outside right now.
She frowned as she looked at the notes. She could be picking flowers in the garden right now. It had been 10 minutes since I had inhaled the scent of that beautiful air.
'That's why they call you crazy, Sena.'
She tried to continue with his homework, ignoring the inner voice, but in vain. She took the flower crown out of her bag and put it on, just in case it helps.
But it didn't even help Sena, who could be distracted by even the smallest thing. She could not help drawing flowers and sometimes mythological animals on the dripping parts.
Sometimes she just wanted to be normal, sometimes he just wanted to be completely crazy. She went to magic school, but was received strangely there, too.
'It's not you, it's the people around you, they're just very normal'
My inner voice said it was right for the first time and closed the books. The library was suffocating him, but said it would not be possible without the herbal book and headed to the herbal section. Just as she was taking it away, her eyes fell on the dragon-like drawing on the parchment.
She turned to the girl who was there and:
'I wish I was free like that dragon'managed to say

Vienna had been scribbling down on her parchment, adding tiny details to her dragon when a voice cut through her thoughts. She looked up, looking for the source of the voice. She looked up to find a petite redhead with bright blue eyes. She looked about Vienna's age, probably a first year.
"Well," Vienna began as she tilted her head at the girl. "He's not really that free right now," she furrowed her eyebrow, pointing at the knight with her quill. "You see this dumb knight?" She said coldly. She really didn't know where she was going with her story, but she allowed herself to ramble on. Maybe getting her thoughts out would help her feel better.
She paused, trying to think up the next part. "You see, the dragon was free," she said, doodling a little smile onto its face. "But suddenly!" She said abruptly, wiping the smile with her sleeve. The smile morphed into a sad, smudged little frown. "This guy," she said aggressively, pointing at the knight. "Decided to ruin his fun. He tried attacking him, just because he was free!" She said dramatically, slamming her hands onto the table as she leaned towards the girl.
"I know, terrible, right?" She laughed, grinning as she leaned back into her chair. Vienna paused. Yep, she knew what this was all about. She was the dragon, and the knight, was her stupid homework. And school. And the professors who assigned said stupid homework. She crossed her arms, frowning. She thought back to what the girl had said. Wished. If they both wished to be free, why didn't they do anything?
"Hm. Well," she picked up her quill again, leaning back over the parchment. "The dragon decided to do something about it. Because he was pissed, and he wasn't gonna let some stupid knight dictate is life," she said, scribbling a large flame coming out of the dragon's mouth, right onto the knight. A bit violent, she had to admit, but she had to let it out somehow.
"And," she said as she finished her creation. "Then the knight was gone! He lived happily ever after, free and without any dumb knight to tell him what to do," she finished drawing, setting down her quill with pride. "The end!" She smiled up at the girl. "How'd you like the story?"

The girl smiled and nodded yes. She liked this story as dragons were normally thought to symbolize evil.
"At least you've drawn a princess who needs to be rescued. Princesses can indeed run away, without needing a man. "
The girl next to him nodded. But with a nod of his head, he understood that he was of the same mind as Sena.
'Aha, you don't need me anymore Sena, another crazy person'
'Don't be funny, your inner voice is thinking the same thing, that's all. And most of the time you start the conversation and you drive me crazy.'
There will be a long silence
"Are you pureblood?"
"Yes"
"When I look at ancient sources, in the past, purebreds were judged by people's blood status. It's so silly, though. As if something would change. After all, we're all magicians, right?"
Again there is a short silence
'Remind me Sena, from now on I'll strike you a good blow. ASK THE IGNORANT HOW TO START A CHAT, AND HE WILL GIVE YOU A BETTER ANSWER!'
'You do it then, my smart inner voice.'
'Off Sena, what are we going to do with you?'

A smile crept its way onto Vienna's mouth as the girl beside her nodded with a smile. People didn't often listen to her stories, or 'rambing,' as it was described often by others. They often called her weird, annoying, or even sometimes crazy. Whenever they did listen, it was often because they didn't have anything better to do. Even then, nobody seemed to understand. Her stories seemed foreign and silly, nobody understood or took her seriously.
"I'm glad you like it. And yeah, I've got to agree," Vienna commented on the girl's remark about princesses. "It's quite stupid. I think princesses could very well fight off bad guys without a knight. Like seriously. What are we, children?" She scoffed. The two girls sat in silence for a second, before it was broken by a question from the other girl.
"Oh, um-" she stuttered. Think, Vienna! Don't blow your cover you idiot! "Yeah. I am. I'm a pureblood," she said, trying her best to keep her tone calm and collected. Lying about her blood status had become practically an instinct back home. However, it had been a while since she had to lie about her blood status, she'd gotten a bit rusty. People at Hogwarts didn't seem to ask as much. No matter, she'd have to start practicing again, or else her cover would be blown.
The girl continued on, speaking about how purebloods often judged fellow wizards by blood status. Vienna winced as the girl brought up the topic. She herself had been a victim of the concept the girl had spoken of. Growing up, she was prejudiced by her own family for being a half-blood. However, what the girl added seemed to reassure Vienna a bit. "Yeah," she smiled softly, keeping her gaze to the ground. "That's true. It's kinda dumb. It doesn't matter how much magic blood you have. Every wizard's a wizard," she nodded. She had to admit, growing up in a purist household, purist ideals and expectations were semi-implanted into her head. She couldn't help but feel the urge to treat muggle-borns as lesser people, but Vienna knew her family's double standards were stupid. She always did try her best to leave them behind.
Vienna sighed. This girl seemed nice. She seemed to understand... well, everything. Vienna smiled, looking up at her. "Hey, what's your name?" She inquired. "Are you a first year? I feel like- I feel like I've seen you around before. Gryffindor? Sorry, I'm not the best with faces," she chuckled nervously. "I'm Vienna. Vienna Goodwin. I'm a first year, Slytherin. That's why I asked," she added, shrugging.
