Winter Wonderland Completed PV Trix Deluca

Emma grinned, happy that someone had shared a similar experience. "I can imagine! Oh definitely funny after the fact. Sometimes things just happen like that. I believe they did. I mean, sometimes I find with adults they yell alot when they're scared. I got grounded for like three weeks after my whole magic incident because they thought I must have lied." Emma was still a bit annoyed over that whole situation. After all, she hadn't done anything wrong. Although to be fair to her parents, they hadn't known about magic at that point. Rubbing her arms with her mittened hands, she continued to walk along, not really cold, just tired of her arms at her side, swinging along.

"Ohhhhh, I hadn't thought of it like that. But that's an excellent description!" Emma exclaimed, turning her face for a moment to show the joy shining there. Turning back to look where she's going, Emma listened as Trix mentioned another book. Funnily enough, Emma had not read that one, although really it shouldn't be that funny. After all, there were lots and lots of books that Emma hadn't read for a variety of reasons, mostly time and interest. "I have not. I don't think I've ever heard of it either. I'll add that to my list though I'm not certain I'll be able to find it here. Might have to wait till the holidays and borrow it from the library at home." Emma made a mental note to write the title and author down when she got back to the castle, otherwise she'd likely forget.

"Yes, the dark just kind of hides things and then your brain gets all...well there's an unexplained blob, must be a monster." Emma giggled, the image of a brain with a mouth talking popping into her head. It was a funny image but one that sometimes was too true when it came to Emma. Her brain could be very hyperactive.

Emma wasn't surprised that Trix hadn't heard the term. She had just happened to come across it in one of the library books she had picked at random, wanting to learn more about her new world. "yep, though apparently it's super difficult. The book I read it in didn't tell you how, just that it was a thing." Emma just continued walking, smiling, Trix's excitement contagious. "I don't. But I wish I did. It would be really cool!" Emma had thought about it when reading the book but couldn't decide what animal form she'd prefer. After all, it was difficult to choose with so many different animals. Emma couldn't help but giggle at Trix's excitement. "I dunno, brooms seem almost the scarier of those two options. Mainly beause you're dependent on something else to keep you up." That was one lesson Emma could do without, thank you very much. She wasn't sporty and could easily take muggle forms of transportation so didn't see why she had to learn how to fly. But unfortunately it was mandatory, so fly she would.

"I hadn't thought about that!" Emma looked back towards the forest, the snow beginning to fall again, which meant even more of the stuff to trudge through later. But oh well. Emma groaned. "I hadn't even thought of those. I should see if mum could send me some well. I'm sure we could start a business or something just selling those. They'd probably be a hit at least with the lower years. Maybe the upper years have been taught something."

Trix frowned at Emma's story. "I don't know what I'd do if I got grounded for something I didn't do. I'd be so mad at my parents!" They let out a quiet growl under their breath. Trix was all about fairness and this didn't seem fair at all. "Did they at least apologize? If not they should..." Trix trailed off.

Trix clapped their hands together lightly to try to get feeling back in their fingers. "Libraries are always a good place to be. And who knows; maybe they have a book exchange service where you can, maybe, send a list of books you want and have an owl deliver them? As long as you dont order too many that is a good way to get books!" They realized they had gone on a tangent, blushing a bit for going on so long about something so silly. They looked down, trying to hide their cheeks.

A few steps later, however and they were onto something else. Trix listened to Emma as she told them the disapointing news. "Aww man. Well, I guess we will just have to learn more about it later. I bet the library here does have something on that." They grinned happily at the mere knowledge that they might be able to turn into an animal one day. Trix loved animals, and couldnt wait to see all the new animals that were apart of the wizarding world. It amazed them that there were hippogriffs and dragons. Things that were once a dream, now was reality. "I definitely want to turn into an animal, I dont care how hard it is or complicated! We should do it together!" Trix giggled, enjoying the conversation very much. It had only been a few minutes but Trix felt like they've known Emma for ages. They just had so much in common.

Trix thought about that, it not have coming to her mind before. "I bet they have magic seat belts for brooms! And if they dont, maybe they have some magic seats so you can glue yourself down?" Trix thought about that and laughed out loud. "Like super glue your butt down!" They laughed again, shivering in the snow. "We'd make a killing on those hand warmers. I bet we could make a good profit off of them. If we can get our mums to buy them? And maybe one day we could make magical ones if they havent already. I bet theres a potion that makes you feel warm and keeps you toasty. I wonder if it's made with chilis..."

But the night was beginning to overtake the day and it was getting colder by the minute, thanks to the snow. Trix was also slightly damp, causing the cold to bite harder than before. But their fun didnt have to end! "Hey, wanna go back to the common room and curl up by the fire? Its really cold and I'm kinda wet." They hoped that she would agree, as they didnt want to stop hanging out, but did want to get out of the cold.

Emma blew out a breath, honestly having felt the same way as Trix but slowly getting past it because it was done and over. No good came from reliving things. Her brain did enough of that for her. "I was. I've kinda got over it, nothing else to do really." Emma shrugged. "I don't think they really put the two together. I mean it probably seems so unlikely that I was invisible or whatever, and they'd rather think I lied. Or they just kind of forgot about the whole thing. I'm not quite sure. But it was a while ago, and like I said I moved on." Emma grimaced slightly, sad that they had brought the conversation down.

Glad that Trix was able to help change the subject, Emma grinned once more, her cheeks rosy red from the cold. "Oh! That would be interesting, something to ask about and see if something like that exists. If not, it should. I'm sure the library doesn't have every book that students would like." Emma considered the idea, and decided she would take a serious look. It seemed important that they have options and not just rely on buying or bringing their own books for some fun reading. Plus it would allow people to share their favorite books more easily. Nodding, Emma made a note to make a note and keep it somewhere safe so she could make sure she actually followed through.

Emma nodded energetically. "I'm sure. I mean it seems something that a lot of people would be interested in. It would probably be more fun to look into then something for homework." Emma chuckled, loving the library but sometimes overwhelmed with the amount of time she spend in the library doing research for homework. "I mean, as long as we research and do it safely, I'm in. Could you imagine being stuck in some weird half-human, half-animal shape? That would be awful!" Emma laughed, the image of a half-bird, half-human the first thing coming to mind.

"If they don't they should! I mean it's just a safety thing really. How would you prevent a little kid from falling off?" Emma laughed at Trix's comment about the super glue. It was a funny image, one she couldn't get out of her mind easily. "Yes! That sounds excellent. You would think it would contain really hot peppers, if not chiles specifically. Look at us, we could be entrepeneurs between the library, seat belt and warming hand thingies." Emma exclaimed excitedly. There were so many ideas flying around.

Emma took a look around, realizing that it was getting darker. Homework and supper were getting closer, and Emma couldn't help but be a little regretful that their time with Trix might be coming to an end. She became so excited when Trix suggested the common room, she squealed and did a little mini-dance. Blushing, but unsure if her cheeks could turn any redder, Emma spoke quickly. "Of course! I think that would be perfect. Think we could find some hot water or heat some up somehow on the fire? Mum sent me some hot chocolate packets not too long ago." Emma was glad that Trix was obviously as reluctant as she was to end their time together.

Trix scoffed, but then thought better of it. No doubt Emma's parents would be scared. Her parents were scared, too, when they had first experienced their magic. They could see why they could want to protect Emma and maybe overcompensated. They guessed that was okay every now and then. "I guess..." she grumbled "Its good you were able to move on. Thats important. I dont do so good at that, myself." Trix licked their chapped lips, the wind was getting brutal.

"Yeah!" Trix hollered, quite a bit too loudly due to excitement. A book was a chance to go to a different world for a while, no matter where you were. They would definitely need to know if there was a book service at the library! They smiled when they thought about the future. If they didnt have it maybe them and Emma could set it up! That could be fun! Having an owl deliver your next fantasy story was a story in itself!

Trix pumped their fist to the sky and lightly whispered "Yus!". Smiling they held out their gloved hand. "So its settled then; we can learn what it takes and go from there! I want to be a kitty! No! Wait! A squirrel!" They were mystified that they could even have the ability to turn into an animal, just like in some of their favorite books. It was all a bit too surreal. As the conversation continued, Trix couldn't help it, they started to jiggle in their spot. They let out a quick little squeal and then excitedly stomped their feet. "This is just too cool! We are going to a magic school! I never dreamed I was a wix!" They hoped that Emma wouldn't mind their little outburst.

Once decided, they walked with Emma back to the castle, smiling that they had made a new friend. "Hot cocoa sounds amazing! I bet if we ask an upperclassman and offer some cocoa to them too, they'd help us! There's got to be a spell to heat a kettle." They looked around one last time at the setting sun over the forest. It was beautiful, and it was their life. They got to go to this magical school because they were a wix. "Heh, take that school bullies!"

Emma grinned, at Trix’s response, not happy that she couldn’t easily move on, but glad that her new friend was dismayed by the reaction and defended her. It felt good and she felt surer of herself. ”Well I can’t say that sometimes it’s very very hard, but my brain has going on. I’m always here to listen, if you need to share something you’re frustrated about.” Emma added, unsure how Trix would take it but sure she would take it in the way Emma intended.

Emma was further excited by Trix’s enthusiastic reaction. Being a planner, she started making a list. First would be checking to see if the Library had such a thing. If they did not, to talk to the Librarian to see if they had heard such a thing, third talk to the Librarian and students to see if it would be used. Emma stopped there, not wanting to forget these first three steps. ”We should get together and brain storm what to do and how to approach everything.” Emma said enthusiastically, happy to be able to combine her love of books and planning together. Though maybe they could use one of her notebooks. She had plenty of pretty ones and when making plans, notebooks just seemed to lend themselves to that rather than parchment.

Emma laughed at Trix’s happy expression and rambling about Animagus. She was curious to learn more and probably would have explored it at some point but now that she had someone to do so with, it would be much more fun. ”This is research I can get behind!” Emma added, unsure what else to add. She honestly hadn’t thought about turning into an animal and had no clue what she would choose if she could. ”It is pretty unbelievable!” Emma added, ”but amazing.”

Emma turned around, walking back towards the castle with Trix and surprised at the distance they had walked. ”Oh! Excellent idea. I’m sure there must be. There seems to be a spell for everything.” And maybe that would make the upper years less intimidating Emma thought to herself, her cheeks hurting from how wide her grin was.
