2021, Stage 1 Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw: Match 1 fin

Alan sensed as he regained control over his limbs and body as curled his fingers around his wand and readied his stance. He was still in a bad stpot, his sight remained, well, nonexistent and that made it almost impossible for him to evade. There was something about being so vulnerable to damage that he hated quite a lot. There was a lot that had went wrong in this duel and perhaps he would get a rematch at one point. Even if they lost this time, he was sure that he wouldn't a second time. He knew them now, he was aware of their tricks and would follow his gut wherever it led him and he believed that next time it would save him. More so, it would let him win.

This was- really rough to watch. Willow almost wanted to help and cast her own spells, hands itching to grasp her wand but she restrained. Aida was perhaps too distracted by practicing her dancing for the ball that her spell didn't even make its way out of her wand. Phaedra however, seemed to have something against Alan having sight. Almost as soon as he had taken off his blindfold, another one secured around his face securely. Willow sighed, this would really... take awhile.

The fifth year would take off the blindfold, but just as he was about to let out a sigh of relief he caught sight of Phaedra's spell and how she once more would send a blindfold flying his way until it wrapped around his head and fully covered his eyes, making seeing anything pretty much impossible. He hated all of this, he hated not being able to see what was coming his way. There was a sigh, but one of utter annoyance.

Phaedra would have found reblinding Alan humorous had a soreness not begun to creep up her limbs. She wasn't beefy to begin with, but flinging spells for this long was starting to take its toll. Rolling her neck and shoulders, Phaedra aimed for Alan once more, deadpan. Patience is a virtue they say.

Another round, another... pound? Willow wasn't being paid for this. If she was being paid per round she would be the richest duelling captain. Alan decided to try and take an offensive move this round despite being blindfolded, casting a dark thunderous cloud above the other team. Phaedra really just wanted Alan not to see, but somehow Alan was able to dodge out of the way of the beautiful silky band heading his way. Aida was more successful and was able to knock Alan back a little bit with a well placed Knockback Jinx.

The silky blindfold erupted from her wand. The plan was to replace his current and prove tougher to remove than the last. And while it did gleam true, the same could not be said for the aim that propelled it, fabric missing its mark by just a foot. As Alan cast a second set of clouds above the piste—interesting play—Aida's own stirred from dormancy and charged upon him, as if a vengeful entity. Phaedra eyed her own cloud rumbling overhead. Better speed this up. Her hair and static were mortal enemies.

The fifth year would have expected to be hit by something, anything at all since he was still blindfolded. But he was not hit by both of their spells, merely one spell would hit him. Pain erupted in his body as he was hit by a knockback jinx, he would stagger slightly but luckily would not be knocked down. That would have been the last thing he needed. Then again, there was no comeback from the situation. Still he was not willing to simply give in.

Effects: This Shield Charm goes by what it was pre-patch. So both rebounds hit Aida because she's the only available target. She suffers -70 damage for the crit success, -150 base damage, and an additional -70 damage from the crit success damage that comes from targeting an effect.

Alan failed the acc vs eva for avoiding the debuff that couldn't be avoided pre-patch. So while he doesn't suffer any damage he also has -4 eva for the next 2 rounds. This doesn't bring his evasion into the negatives.

Also the cloud above their head is gone so there are no further lightning chances.

At least this round was entertaining. Still not removing the blindfold Alan threw up the Shield Charm, which made the next few seconds go very very poorly for the Ravenclaw team. Phaedra was able to beautifully get rid of the cloud above their head, but the spell rebounded hard against the shield and instead hit Aida. Alan was thrown off a bit by the wind circling around the shield, and while he didn't suffer any damage he was a bit wobbly on his feet. Aida had the same thing happen, her Knockback Jinx rebounding and hitting Phaedra instead. So, now the Ravenclaw team was hit for damage and Alan was fine... and this would... still be going on for awhile.
