Jumbles of Jellybeans
It was another dreary day, and Haven was stuck inside. Boo. However, a little bit of clouds wouldn't stop her from having fun- neither would a little bit of homework, which she had promptly tossed aside to do later. Besides, she didn't have that much anyway. It would still be there later. She could not say the same about the poor jellybeans.February 23, 2021
The second-year girl had laid out her dinosaur-print blanket on the hall's floor, not too far away from the fire, keeping her nice and cozy. Her shoes were off to the side, and her feet were dangling in the air- one with a platypus-print sock, the other with trains. She was surrounded by tons and tons of jellybeans- her mother's doing, who had sent nothing but jellybeans in that week's care package. Not that she was complaining; they were delicious! Plus, they made for a great art supply.
Haven picked a fallen jellybean out of her bright yellow sweater and promptly squeezed a bucket load of glue onto it before placing it on the paper. She wasn't quite sure what she was making, but it was something, all right. Definitely something. Hopefully it would turn out right at the end, she needed something to send home to her mother, and she couldn't just do pocket lint and a roll from dinner like last week! She sighed and picked up another jellybean. Maybe it would be easier if she would have planned it all out beforehand, or even if she had someone to talk to. She rolled over onto her back to take a look around at the students- all in their own conversations it seemed. When she rolled back over again, Haven was sure to leave enough space for an extra person (or three) and put a few extra pieces of paper out. Hey, maybe she could make a sign advertising the jellybean arts-and-crafts session! Quickly, she got to work, so more people might be able to join her. She just needed to figure out how to turn a jellybean-lump into a functional sign. She'd figure it out somehow. Hopefully.

Jumbles of Jellybeans
|| Interacting with @Haven Bohannon ||
Another Tuesday meant another stack of assignments- six inches of parchment here, three inches of parchment there, spell drills, Herbology homework, preparation for Potions... well, Aly was used to keeping busy, but this was almost too much for the little second-year to handle.
She meandered into the small hall on the ground floor on her way to the Great Hall, hoping to find someplace quiet where she could begin to tackle this absolutely monstrous to-do list, and clutching her satchel tightly as it hung over one shoulder. The bag had been new the previous year, but now, what with all the textbooks and materials the little Ravenclaw carried around on the daily, it was already beginning to rip at the seams- what a pity. But she wouldn't have to carry it much longer, because, as she entered the room with its cozy warm glow and portrait-lined walls, her eyes landed on a very familiar frame seated on the floor in front of the fire. Well, now- Aly would know that strawberry-blonde hair anywhere.
She approached Haven, a friend of hers from the previous school year, and slung her satchel off of her shoulder so that it plopped onto the ground with a heavy thunk. "Haaaven," she sung out, "long time no see! Mind if I join you?" And if Haven did mind, it was already too late, because Aly herself was plopping to the floor now on a square of the dinosaur-print blanket that her friend had apparently laid out.
Doing homework with a friend would perhaps be less productive than doing homework on one's own, but just as Aly dismissed the idea that productivity could possibly be more important than friendship, her green gaze landed upon exactly what Haven had been doing before she'd arrived. Were those... jellybeans? On paper?
"Er, Haven," she voiced, somewhat worriedly, "I think those are supposed to be... for eating?"
