Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw Jan 2022
Fresh off her first ever win as a member of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and with only a slightly elevated fear of becoming once again acquainted with the grass of the Quidditch pitch, Aly Salinger strode from the locker room with her Silver Arrow clutched tightly in the grasp of her right hand. Her heart was pounding, but she tried to ignore it, unsure if Gryffindors could sense fear or not. (Wait, no. That was boggarts.)interacting with @River Dewlight // mentioning @Jorah Moussa

This match was certainly sure to be something. After all, Gryffindor had absolutely crushed Ravenclaw last year in Aly's first game ever as a first-string Keeper; that match had not been the curly-haired girl's finest work, to say the least, and she'd ended it plummeting to the ground and landing on top of her teammate Jorah.
Nearly a year later and she still felt terrible about that. But there wasn't much she could do about it, other than try to not fall on top of him ever again.
She strode out onto the pitch and ended up just next to River, their team's resident star Seeker, who had entered the pitch just moments before Aly herself; the third-year had grown to like the older girl (not that Aly ever disliked anyone, so like her more) after their shared-broom teamwork during the Slytherin match. They had made a good team-within-a-team, and Aly was about to wish River luck with the Snitch when her green gaze zeroed in upon a small nick on River's cheek. It didn't look too fresh, but it had to hurt! Where could she have possibly gotten injured?
"Oh- you've got a little cut on your cheek there!" Aly exclaimed in surprise. "Hold on- I've got a little something for that..." She began digging in the inside pocket of her Keeper uniform in search of a certain small box... and then she pulled it out, grinning.
Her little tin of Muggle band-aids, which she carried with her almost everywhere, was already down a single bandage since the morning; in the warm Ravenclaw locker room not twenty minutes before, Jorah- one of the most prolific Beaters Aly had ever seen- had been practicing with his Beater's bat, and, well... let's just say Beaters weren't supposed to swing the bats into their own arms. Honestly, Aly wasn't quite sure how he'd managed that feat, but she'd also never seen anyone bruise quite so fast, and she had been happy to stick one of these not-so-magical magical healing devices onto Jorah's arm in the hopes that it would give him an extra healing boost.
She opened the tin again and withdrew another, carefully taking off the packaging and making sure not to touch the centre part, then stepped close to River. Biting her lip in concentration, Aly reached out and stuck the band-aid squarely over the cut on the Seeker's pale cheek.
"There you go." Aly grinned proudly. "Healing and stylish!" She stowed the tin of bandages away and gave River a little wave. "Best of luck with the Snitch!"
Mounting her Silver Arrow, Aly took to the skies, heading off toward her beloved goal hoops to await the start of the match...

The cold air nipped against her cheeks as she made her way onto the field, the familiar Silver Arrow swinging in her hand. Unlike her last game, she wasn't at all nervous. If this was going to be like their game against Slytherin, the opposing team was in for a wild ride. Quite thankful to be on the bench, Emma wrapped her arms around herself. Though she was a winter person, she'd do anything to stay warm. The frozen precipitation was nice, the temperature, however, was not.
Snow descended and clung onto the hood of her jersey, which hid her rosy, cold cheeks. Every once in a while she would adjust her position on the bench. Any little movement would help her keep warm. It was going to be a good game if she didn't get frostbite on the bench.
Knocking the excess snow off her shoes and dusting off the bench, she took her spot and winced slightly. Not even the gloves on her hands were doing their job. Oh well, hopefully when the game started, she'd be up and cheering for her team. Though her team spirit was undoubtedly high in every game, the weather might have been a good excuse to stand and jump around. It seemed like the only right thing to do until she could join her teammates.

Taking a deep breath, Sylvain let the cold of the winter air fill his lungs as the Gryffindor team was called out onto the field.
Exhaling slowly, he closed his eyes and imagined what it would look like to win today's game. Sylvain thought of how much work it had taken them all to get here, and then of putting their practice to work. They had made the most of the time in-between matches focusing on self-improvement. He even imagined that he might be conscious long enough to see his daydreaming realized. Not that he was planning to be bludgered anytime soon mind you. "Let's see how long we can make this dream last," he said back to the team, hoping to encourage them with his thoughts.
It was after the Gryff's took to the air, and after hearing their house's cheers, that Sylvain was reminded exactly what was at stake today. Sylvain would follow Cecily to the field of battle once more, and take flight above the pitch glittering so beautifully with whatever snow remained yet undisturbed. Today they would not be making any snowmen (well maybe later), but instead they'd be focused on adapting to the strategies of their adversaries. He would lean to Jorah and "Let's help Gryffindor make some snow angels."

Haley looked at the snowy landscape with some apprehension, it had been snowing for two days and she knew today would be a particularly frosty day, or rather flight. It was unbelievable how quickly time flew, while it felt like the first Quidditch game of the season was only yesterday, today they were taking to the skies for their second opener against the Ravenclaws. While Haley wasn't wrapped up warm in her winter clothes like all the spectators, she was waiting in her Quidditch uniform with the other team members in the warm locker room. As before every game, Haley was in no mood to communicate, she would answer questions if spoken to but otherwise she would just walk around the room quietly to herself, gathering her thoughts, mentally preparing for the game and trying to keep the excitement under control.
It was Haley's second game as first string, the nervousness was still very high, though that wouldn't change after 10 games, she was sure. Still, she breathed calmly, trying not to let the excitement surface but there were features that showed her inner emotions on the outside. She let her fingers and neck crack regularly and every now and then she stopped, folded her hands at the nape of her neck and looked up before continuing to walk calmly back and forth.
And then it was time to leave the warm nest. Haley let a loud gasp of breath through her mouth, bounced up and down on the spot a few times, shook out her hands and arms before running out onto the field with the team. She saw the snowy field and couldn't wait for summer to finally arrive. The cheers and sounds from the stands reached her and she couldn't help but smile. It was an incredible feeling every time to see how much the other lions supported them.
As the snow continued to fall on her, step by step covering her red hair with white, the cold wind blowing in her face and she felt her fingers getting colder, she heard the shouts of @Simon Kincaid. She was incredibly happy to see him back in the ranks today and waved to him, smiling broadly, before taking her position. Although she had forgotten the cold for a moment, she quickly regained her concentration and hoped that the game would start as soon as possible.

Merlin was Akari excited for this match to begin. It was only her second game as a first string player, and she had to admit, it was truly amazing. The rush that she felt while up in the sky, holding on dearly to her trusty silver arrow, was nothing short of incredible. Since her promotion, she worked harder than ever before and so now was the time to prove that it had paid off. Not to mention, she still desired to live up to her predecessor Pierre, and make both him and Figaro proud.
With a broad grin displaying the extent of her excitement, Akari mounted her broom and took off upwards, getting into position. Hopefully, she would last long enough this time to see Gryffindor snag another win.[font= garamond]Position: First String KeeperAction: Arriving & Doing as Stratigized

The second match of this year. Suzuki was just as excited, despite the inclement weather Scotland had been showing so far. There had been a heavy snowfall, and Suzuki kicked snow off his boots and he trekked across the pitch to meet his team, where they stood in a huddle. It was cold, and he watched as his breath spread in a cloud in front of his face.
They had won the last game, and they would win this one too.

Griseldis slowly stepped out into the snow covered Quidditch field, the air smelled like fresh mint and the winter coldness slightly stung the girl's cheeks like a gentle pinch. Who would have thought that their next match against the Ravenclaw would be in a winter wonderland. Loud and exciting cheers could be heard around them from both spectators above.
Before the second game, their team changed once again with new and returned old members. A new team of lions mixed with experiences and hidden potentials, Griseldis still had faith in her teammates that they would continue to do their best in each match. However, Griseldis was aware that the Ravenclaw team must also have new talented members on their team as well. But the Gryffindor First-String Beater was more excited than being nervous. She wondered how strong the Ravenclaw Quidditch players would be this year. Well, they would all find out soon enough.

From the looks of things, it was shaping up to be another uneventful year for Lavinia. Not too much had happened besides her regular studies and quidditch practices. They had won their first quidditch game which was huge and it motivated Lavinia to keep practicing so that her team could win more games. This was their year and they were going to win the cup this time around. While Lavinia felt herself extremely motivated, she also found herself practicing much more in order to hide her emotions. The fear of living that was present for her entire Hogwarts career had yet to go away and now it was doubled with the guilt that started in the summer. She had abandoned her friends and housemates in the Forbidden forest over the summer and couldn’t get the guilt to go away. No matter how hard she tried to get rid of it, the guilt remained and in hopes to help her house and make herself feel better about it, Lavinia wanted to win quidditch. It was the one real thing that she could do right.
Making her way out onto the snow filled pitch, Lavinia readjusted her gloves as she thought about about the team that they were up against. They were versing Gryffindor who won the quidditch cup last year and then proceeded to beat the international schools. In addition, Lavinia had two close Gryffindor friends who were both on the quidditch team. She would have to go against Haley and Elena, and to Lavinia, that was no problem. When it came down to it, she would gladly knock her friend off their broom if it meant she could win the game. This was going to be a tough game but Lavinia was ready to play hard and earn Ravenclaw the victory.

jan 15, 2022.It was absolutely freezing. Ivy had to admit, she was very jealous of the first string players, who would get to warm up while playing Quidditch. She, on the other hand, was condemned to sit on a bench, freezing half to death. With a parting "Good luck!" to her teammates, Ivy would make her way across the field with the rest of the second string players, wrapping her arms around herself tightly in an attempt to shield herself from the wind. A glare would be cast at the sky and the snow as she sat down. Winter was her favourite season of the year, but today she would have gladly swapped it out for a hot summer day.
She scrutinised the field, trying to see if there was anyone she recognised on the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team. Quite a few familiar faces had remained on the Gryffindor team from before she left (although she'd been most disappointed to find that Ariana had left the school). There were a couple of people Ivy recognised on the opposing team, but by face only, and she hadn't the slightest clue who some of the others were. Clearly she had a bit of catching up to do. Although, she reflected, they had to be pretty good to have made the team, and from what she'd heard, Ravenclaw had had a good start to the season. Ivy crossed both of her fingers for good luck. She had no doubt of her teammates' abilities, but she was taking no chances.action. benched.stats. sta. 6 9 | eva. 9 12 | str. 5 8 | wis. 9 12 | arc. 7 10 | acc. 9 12

It was sub-zero, white particulates drifting lazily from the heavens to pile upon the already dense layer of snow that swathed the grounds and the pitch in a blanket encouraging hibernation and inward retreat. While it wasn't as though they were about to be trudging in knee high boots across the ground, fighting for every step, neither was this exactly ideal weather for a quidditch match. The chill at at rest upon the ground would only be amplified tenfold once they reached the break-neck speed at higher altitudes that their brooms allowed. Encouragement had been given to dress warm. Evelynn, herself, had taken her own advice; she had added a layer of Long Johns and fleece armor beneath her usual uniform, exchanged fingerless gloves for fleece lined sports gloves, pulled a lined balaclava over her head beneath toque and goggles, and padded her boots with long woolen socks. Adorned as she was to survive the elements, her only real identifying feature would remain the large golden '23' embroidered on the back of her quidditch robes.
"If I fall, you'd best avenge me." She rested a hand on Marshal's shoulder for just a moment, simultaneously instilling confidence in the younger lad, and perhaps drawing from him some for herself. A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips just before she pulled up the face mask to veil it from sight as she added to the rest of the team, "And I expect to see Moussa's wings clipped before the game concludes! I seem to have erred in returning his allegedly lucky coin; we must avenge Slytherin the brooms he compromised!"
At the call of her name from the announcer, she pushed her way through the snow behind the Gryffindor captain, Silver Arrow clutched tight. Speeches and last-minute strategic reminders had long been delivered to the team: recommendations not to underestimate the now rather impressive Ravenclaw roster, suggestions on which opposing players served the highest risk and ought be targeted first, and reminders that while Gryffindor had a lot riding on this game, they hadn't worked as hard as they had to give up before the game had begun. But if it had done anything to bolster the morale of her teammates, the words had done little to soothe her own nerves. With every passing game, they stakes compounded. With every win, they flew higher. When a loss inevitably came, it would make the collision of the fall all the more painful. It would come eventually.
But not yet. Not if she had anything to say about it.
Shoulders rising, crisp air filled her lungs with a prolonged breath. She held it, that moment of bodily calm providing a stage for the thrum of her heart. Its beat reverberated at her collar, echoed in her ears. Quick at first, but gradually slowing, until she could hold her breath no more. Releasing it, her frame relaxed, tension and anxious energies flowing down her limbs to be cast out and discarded in the unyielding temperatures to freeze. There was nothing new about this game. It was the same as always. Fly, seek, and hunt down the snitch. Avoid the bludgers, dodge the blatchers, and keep vigilant for those who sought to stall her progress. It came down to those basic principles, and she had not neglected efforts to keep herself improving. Mounting her broom and kicking off through a gentle spray of descending flakes, she just had to hope that her performance would prove better than her eagle counterpart.
