There would be no quiet as the duelists began their casts. The Snakes were surely gunning to finish this thing before it dragged on too long. And on the opposite side of the stage, Lea was trying her best to stay in this, bring one of them down if she could.

Lea would reignite her flames from the rounds before. Henry had been left unburned for far too long it seemed. She would shoot an Incendio Duo at Henry with incredible accuracy. The speed at which the wild magic raged across the stage left Henry no time to dodge. Henry may have even guided himself into the incoming flames. Poor, poor Henry.

Henry's briliant casting would make yet another appearance as he crafted his Flipendo. He would make his Professors proud once more. But when it came to releasing the sparkling magic, he would face some issues.

It could have been the hit from Lea or his wand's own decision, but his spell would not go towards Lea. No, it would shoot off to his partner Bridget. Luckily, she was ready. Like a leaf in the wind, Bridget would send a streaming torrent of air at Lea with her Ventus, and follow through with the dodging of Henry's spell. It almost brought a tear to Galton's eyes to see someone flow so freely.

Lea would get caught up in the brutal wind headed her way, not able to step out of the way of such a brutal torrent. The wind would whip around her as the storm surged overhead. Would the Badger succumb to the storm? Or would her flame stay lit?

"Flipendo."

Henry enchanted, focusing on each syllable in the incantation. On each flick im the moment. Focusing on the knockback jinx as he took a breath, watching as sparks flew from his wand. Nearly perfect or so it seemed.

Instead of going across toward the lone hufflepuff, his wand decides to take a detour and head for a collision course for his partner. Umable to deteer his spell in time, the teen tried his best to warn his captain but luckily that wasn't necessarily. Watching as she dodged out the way sending the spell toward the ground. Harmlessly.

Henry stared at the spot where sparks collided, a bit sad that he couldn't witness the damage and effect that it could have had on the lone hufflepuff. Henry had a feelimg that it would have been a grand sight to behold... maybe even bring them closer to winning that duel.

Gaze flickering toward the wind jinx that Bridget sent over to the hufflepuff. At least one spell hit... right? Henry didn't feel that way, he didn't see the positives with his favorite spell hitting the lone hufflepuff as he muttered to Bridget, "I'm sorry, I should have focused on my aim more," the teen moved his eyes back toward the lone hufflepuff but wasn't fast enough.

Feeling the after effect of the incendio. His body burned and ached as his mind started playing tricks on him but what if this was payback for nearly hitting his partyee moments before.... even if it was a accident.

I deserve this

Eyes narrowed slightly, form squared to her target, Bridget was ready to resume casting. To make it count. Another Wind Jinx was incanted, and though it was nothing special, it was enough. Strong enough, accurate enough; it pummeled Lea with its torrent and caught her in its vortex.

It probably helped that she had gone so much of the duel without being under fire, Lea's wand aimed again and again at Henry. While he was caught aflame--again? How much of him was burned at this point?--she could concentrate her efforts solely on the offensive. Or so she thought. It didn't disrupt her cast, but were it not for the general attentiveness a sport required, Henry's wayward Flipendo might have staggered her.

It was fine, though, and with the spell not purposefully aimed her way, not terribly difficult to lean out of the way of. Henry apologized, the expected reflex reaction, and coming close to hitting a teammate drew shame from most. "It happens," she responded simply; she'd in fact hit Santario last year, so she wasn't about to be miffed at this.

Sure, her spells were working, but at this point it seemed just about over.

She would keep her composure long enough to burn the Slytherin that had been burnt times before, but failed to look out for her own safety. The gust of wind aimed true, too caught up in something else to move out of the way. It was surprising how much a wall of air could hurt, forcing her back as she attempted to figure out how best to combat it. It was a good thing the knockback jinx flew nowhere near the hufflepuff as the girl was unsure whether she would have been able to dodge it- preoccupied and panicky. There was still the notion of victory in her head, but her mind filled with certainty of defeat. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt as much to fall unconscious if Lea was prepared for it.

Still, she had at least a little more time before that happened. Even if her mind was starting to wander elsewhere- patience and will slowly dissolving- it would be best to think of at least one more thing. Something to do in the next round.

Storm Clouds at Lea Hirsch
Lea: [d10: 10] → Hit, 100 damage done
Wind whipped around Lea as she began to craft her spell; the duelist trapped in a vortex of air and chaos. Though she was trapped in a storm she seemed as determined as ever to carry on; it wasn’t over and until she could no longer cast.

She sent a blindfold flying over the stage. The soft cloth flapping ever so slightly as it traveled on its arc towards Bridget. And it would hit a hair away from its target. It was so so close, but Bridget had been able to bring her forearm into its path moments before it would have found her face. She now had a fashionable sash bound across he wrists, a stylish bracelet to continue on with.

But the Snakes were working up something stylish of their own. A flashy finish to the duel. Both Bridget and Henry would weave the same spell for Lea: Flipendo. Both would aim their wands at her, and both would release the magic at the same time. A coordinated attack on their rival duelist.

The storm overhead crackled and thundered as the flipendos traveled across the stage, as if signaling the coming doom. Inside the torrent of air that Bridget’s ventus had left Lea would attempt to dodge the incoming spells. But it wouldn’t be enough. Was it the double dose of magic, or was it the wind making it that much harder? Hard to say. But she would be hit by both flipendos, sending her into the air. It seemed the Badger had finally been beaten.

Galton would raise his hand and begin to yell “Cea-“ but he was cut off by a thunderous boom. Before he could signal for the duels end, for the storm to be cleared, lightning would arc out of it. Thunder shook the stage as the lightning connected with the airborne Badger, adding an unneeded farewell to the duel. Just like the storm had left Alexa.

Before Lea hit the stage Galton had medics headed towards her. A nasty end to a brilliant duel. “CEASEFIRE!” He would finish yelling this time. He signaled another medic over to the snakes and then went towards Lea.

Once he was sure that the duelist was safe, he would make his way to the center of the stage and announce. “With no duelists remaining from Hufflepuff we end our duel! Victory goes to Slytherin! Congratulations duelists, well fought.”

Galton climbed down from the stage and made his way over to the snakes. He’d produce two licorice wands and hand them over to the two, before heading to do the same to the badgers. What a perfect storm the duel had been.
Congratulations Slytherin!

The fire was a bit distracting as flames whiped arpund the third year. Attempting to conserve his energy and keep his anxiety off of the burn marks covering his body, Henry took slow breaths as he aimed his wands.

Aimed for the lone hufflepuff ahead when the teen heard the girl cast. Dread filled him as he clenched up, ready for another spell only thing was it wasn't aimded for the teen. Opening his eyes and relaxing, well semi relaxing while being enclosed with flames. The teen looked and saw Bridget with a strange piece of black cloth on her wrist, attempt of the blindfolding charm he guessed.

Focusing, Henry took a breath as he aimed his wand. Focused on their strategy as he sent a pairing knockback jinx toward the hufflepuff after his partner sent hers. The teen held his breath watching both spells hut the girl then heard Galton'a voice when a loud boom echoed his ears.

The teen felt bad for the girl, two knockback jinxes and lighting. The strom didn't lighten up it seemed. The teen figured he should see if the two hufflepuff's were alright later as he listened to the gryffindor captain's words.

They won! Henry couldn't help a smile, attempting to keep it small as he looked over at his partner and captain.

"We won! That was brillant,
you are a brillant duelist, captain."

Smiling a bit wider toward the girl as he remembered the flames flickering around him and the more than likely burn marks that now covered his body as he spoke"sorry for any distractions or failure before but I'm going to head to the uh- hospital wing for the burns." Wirh those words Henry wlild make a point to leave after the two hufflepuffs, his mind now no longer distracted by the duel and feeling the burns that enclosed hus body.
Great job, everyone! Galton, thanks for such amazing modposts! Lea ans Alexa, great job and good luck in your next duel! Bridget, thanks for the strategy ans your awesome writing!

She kind of figured that this was the end. But her decision was to continue on the offensive in the hopes that it would slow them down and give her a chance to retake the advantage.

That did not happen.

"Obscuro." The wind whipping around her certainly wasn't helping her aim- especially when it came to sailing a blindfold across the room. While it almost worked, it didn't. The wrist wasn't where she wanted such a sash to go, meant for the eyes instead. But her focus on that and the wind around her would allow the perfect opportunity to strike the girl down. Her attempt to dodge would be meaningless as both hit, feeling her feet lift from the ground and her eyes start to close.

How lucky it was that the lightning decided to strike now. Lea would only barely notice before she hit the floor and everything went dark.

With Lea caught in her last spell, Bridget didn't think long about her next move. Offering Henry relief from the flames was briefly considered, his state fairly concerning. But they had Lea right where they wanted her, and she would only continue to barrage him with attacks for as long as they stood. The best thing was perhaps just to finish this.

She raised her wand to cast, only to be interrupted by Lea's incantation. By now, it was fairly safe to assume any spell involving force was headed for Henry, and any that took away casting ability was for her. A sound strategy, really, though Bridget had no intention of having her vision stolen away. She was fast, but so was Lea; in this regard, they seemed equally matched. Her head did escape the fabric, courtesy of her arm getting in the way. The bracelet-like result was new. Shrugging slightly to herself, as if to put the novelty behind her, she reminded herself to focus on what counted.

Laurel wood lifted once more, this time nothing stopped her cast. "Flipendo." The spell joined Henry's as they flew across the stage, locked onto Lea's location. She made a valiant effort despite the vortex, but fighting against the elements, especially when the Slytherins had their sights on victory, was a losing battle.

One, two spells hit, and as she fell, it became clear she wasn't going to get back up. Bridget looked to Galton, who was calling for the obvious ceasefire, then jumped when thunder crackled. With a grimace, she put the pieces together: their storm had, rather unnecessarily, made sure the Hufflepuff was well and truly down.

But with that last turn of events, it was over. The lingering flames on Henry were put out, Galton declared Slytherin victorious, and even handed them licorice wands. With a slightly surprised smile at the offering, she thanked him, watching as he then headed after the unconscious Hufflepuffs. She was glad to see Henry sporting a smile when she turned to give him her attention. "Thank you," she said again. "You as well, I couldn't have done it without you." Hopefully he wouldn't try to brush this off, too; she genuinely could not have taken Alexa and Lea in a two on one, and he'd landed important hits.

Of course, apology followed, and her own smile slipped a little bit. She thought of what he'd said earlier, that he was sorry she was stuck with him as a partner, and how she'd decided she'd talk to him about it after. It was after now... but right, he'd taken a lot of fire. "Yeah, go get those looked at." Now, when he was in pain, was not the moment. Glancing to the side, she confirmed Santario's duel was still going. "I'm going to watch the rest of Santario and Sarah's duel, and then I'll meet you up there, alright?" That seemed reasonable, time to come down from the adrenaline, and she had really been hoping she'd be able to see some of Santario's match, even if it was just the last few minutes. With that sorted out, she watched him head off for a moment, just to be sure he had enough strength left to make it on his own, then hurried for a view of the last active platform.
Thank you all for a fun duel! I'm glad we got to be your first moderation, Galton, and thank you again for the licorice wand. Best of luck next stage, Alexa and Lea, and of course thanks Henry for helping me work through strategy and making the rp component interesting.
