The duel seemed to be taking a fast turn for perhaps better or worse depending on the team.
Henry's eyes flashed from one side of the platform to the other, this is his first time overseeing a duel and he didn’t expect it to be rather hard not to interfere. To help.
To extinguish flames....
Henry's blue gaze landed on the gryffindor pair, they seemed to be having a lot of luck. Henry wondered if they would be partnered up in official duels this year, he thought the two worked good together perhaps a little to good....
Henry thought Elsa Veronica Bennett was showing off her skills a bit with as he watched the familiar sparks of the knockback jinx fly from her wand hitting Scarlet sqaure one. The gryffindor haven't missed a spell that duel yet as Henry watched, glad that the caretaker was overseeing for any rule breakers that day. It helped the third year relax a little as he overseed this duel.
Nicky's partner shared her luck, Henry watched Adeline Hughes send a rather brilliant dancing leg jinx toward Scarlet as well. Henry flinched a little when the girl was hit again, wondering how many more times she can endure hits? She is still on fire to....
However the luck didn't seem to continue to the mismatched house tean side as Henry turned his blue gaze, watching as Scarlet Salvatore sent a knocback jinx toward Nicky but the gryffindor easily dodged it, maybe Scarlet's aim was faulty from the dancing or fire? Henry could only guess as he watched the spells fly across the stage...
Lily Cooper has better luck with her knockback jinx, heading for Adeline ans hitting her straight one. The teen watched as the duel continued when a certain sight caught his eye and feeling bad for Scarlet, she was experiencing a duel and would be unconscious in the first few minutes into it.
"Episkey."
Henry aimed his wand for Scarlet, watching as the girl is healed a tad that she didn't fall unconscious in the moment. It wasn't much but at least she would be able to cast one more spell before falling unconscious....
The third year put his wand away once again, swearing to himself that he won't interfere again and will only oversee the duel.

Nicky was glad that firstly, Scarlet was okay thanks to Henry and secondly, that Scarlet's spell didn't hit her because that would have been painful. She sighed and gulped down the rising guilt. Having her and Addie fight their friend was probably not the best idea. Even if they were having fun and no one was getting hurt too badly. This was Nicky's least favourite part of duels - watching a person being knocked out or lingering on the verge of unconsciousness because of her actions. Nicky hoped that the boom prank squad members wouldn't need group therapy after this match would be over. It would be a shame if all this fighting made them drift from each other. Even though she wasn't as close with Scarlet as she was with Addie and Henry. It was satisfying, however, to know that all the classes she took were paying off and that she was good at duelling. It was also comforting to have her friend and partner by her side. Nicky grinned at Addie after she watched her send another successful spell flying at their opponents.
"Go Addie, go Gryffindor!"
Even if the duel was unofficial, it felt good to know that as an all-lion team they were winning this match with flying colours.

Battle Of Wits
A shot of white hot adrenaline surged through Adeline as she watched her jinx make contact with Scarlet. Finally, she was actually contributing to this duel. After witnessing both her and Nicky’s spells strike their friend, it seemed that Scarlet was only hanging on by a thread. But in an instant, Addie caught a glimpse of movement to the side of the stage and looked over to see Henry pointing his wand at her weakened opponent. Though Scarlet was still looking rough, she appeared to regain a small amount of strength.
“Hey, no fair! she yelled at him. “You can’t help the other team!” In this moment of distraction, Addie felt a powerful force push her back, nearly causing her to lose balance and fall.
A low growl of frustration escaped Adeline’s mouth as she planted her feet firmly to prevent herself from being caught off guard again.
“You two won’t get that lucky again,” she hissed to her opponents, her highly competitive nature boiling to the surface. In just a second of losing focus, this match had taken a turn for the worse, and Addie wouldn’t let the lead that she and Nicky had gained fall by the wayside.

Okay there was no question of who the other team were targeting, and unfortunately for Scarlet, that person was her. This round went by much like the last, with both of her BOOM comrades being annoyingly more accurate than herself with their casting.
Nicky got in first, producing the same spell her partner had done in the previous round, though comparatively more accurate in her aim. It was hard to be thankful for anything that the two of the girls had planned for Scarlet, especially as she was in the process of getting over the effects of the knockback jinx, but she was so relieved to not see another fire spell hurtling towards her.
Much against Scarlet's will, and to her great embarrassment, her feet began dancing to some unheard rhythm, she couldn't remember a time when she had been under the influence of this spell before, so she wasn't quite sure just how long it's effects would last.
"So you want us to start our victory dance early?" she said to the other team rather cockily, she hoped she would get another deserved opportunity to do some kind of subtle victory dance, but with each hit she took, she became less certain of this happening.
She smiled as she watched her partner get Adeline with her own knockback jinx, at least she was having more luck. 'Come on Scarlet,' she thought, begging with herself that her next action has the intended result and moves her and Lily one step closer to victory.

You smile when you hear Scarlet. She's fine and she's kept her competitive side. You're just hoping that the Gryffindors will switch targets because you don't really want to be left alone with Adeline and Nicky.

The duel continued. Henry knew he shouldn't have used a healing spell, he knew that he wasn't suppose to interfere. Only oversee the duel. Henry studied ans perpared for this day, knowing that he will have to perpare for friends of his to be hit and rendered unconscious. That didn't mean Henry was resdy for that part.... he dreaded it and it didn't help that three of the duelists in his duel are his friends.
Henry looked over, nodding toward Addy's words. Henry knew, it wasn't fair and he shouldn't have pulled out his wand but he couldn't leave Scarlet in that state. He had to help... he had to...
Henry watched as the duel continued, watching as Elsa Veronica Bennett perfromed another brilliant spell. A knocback jinx on a path toward Lily Cooper who aimed her wand at the two loins, however she wasn't fast enough amd the sparks collided with the girl. It was the first spell that would hit Lily and it looked like the girl wasn't one to go down without a fight as Henry watched on.
The third yesr watched sparks flew across his blue gaze from Lily Cooper. The spell found its target; Adeline Hughes who would start to dance soon after all that spell was perfectly aimed. There wasn't any dodging it.
Adeline Hughes has less luck with her own spell, sparks flew from her wand but the aim was off completely. Maybe it was guilt about hitting her friend or Scarlet's strange presence still swirling around her.
Two spells hit, one from each side. Scarlet Salvatore dodged that year as Henry watched her feet move in the awkward movements that is the dancing feet charm, soon Addline would be joining in the dance to the invisible music.

With Scarlet on her last leg, Addie was sure that this spell would be the one to finish her off. And yet, as her opponent dodged the spell with great ease, it seemed that she would still be in the match for at least one more round.
Be better, Adeline, she thought to herself. She knew she was capable of doing so much more than this, and hated the idea that she was the weaker teammate in her duo. Nicky had been on point with her spells, hitting her targets left and right. Addie wanted to be a force to be reckoned with, too, and to prove to everyone how powerful she was.
“Keep it up, Nicky!” She gave her friend an encouraging smile, trying to get over the touch of jealousy that was floating around her brain.
Addie felt a small force impact her legs, and instantaneously began dancing around wildly. Her feet tapped around, out of control, and though she tried to steady herself, she could do nothing to end the spell. So instead, Adeline simply tried to ignore it, recentering as she figured out what to do next. So far, distraction had been her weakest point, so perhaps if she just pretended she wasn’t dancing uncontrollably, it wouldn’t bother her.

Scarlet let out a sigh of relief. First she heard the incantation, she was expecting both the girls to take a shot at her so already had one eye on Adeline when she heard the girl say the incantation. But this was what Scarlet was waiting for, this is what she was ready for, she tried to best predict where exactly the spell might hit her so that she could jump in the other direction. It was risky, but she knew she had to wait till the last possible second to move, or risk moving straight into the path of the spell.
It looked as though the spell was going to land somewhere to the left of her, so she prepared to move to the right, it wasn't until the spell left the girl's wand that she realised the exact extent to which the spell was off it's target. Adeline had missed her completely, thankfully. The girl's mistake would at least keep Scarlet in the game for a while longer.
"You good?" she asked her teammate after she watched Lily get hit by Nicky's Flipendo. Scarlet smiled at what seemed to be a quick recovery on her teammate's part as she soon retaliated with her own attack on Adeline, "it'll be satisfying to see the effects of that one," she added, after having put up with the effects of the same spell recently enough.

Nicky was happy that Scarlet wasn't knocked out and generally satisfied with the results of this round. She had hit her target and proved once again that she knew how to use her wand and her classes weren't a waste of time. She was still worried about Scarlet though, since it was clear that she wasn't going to hold on much longer and it would be partially Nicky's fault, not just Addie's. Nicky was once again trying her best not to think about how this duel might affect their happy boom squad and the relationships of its members. She focused on her wand again. The only thing she could do now was just fight and get this over with as fast as possible. She wouldn't want to let her friend and partner in crime down because of her worries and internal struggles. Besides, none of the worrying would make a difference. She could deal with all the problems later, after this was over.
"Come on, Addie, I know you can do a lot better than this! Let's win this thing!"
She smiled at her best forever friend and partner and prepared to make her next move which she hoped would be just as successful as the previous one.
