Willow would cast the most spectacular Incendio Duo that any present had ever seen, and that perfect spell would split in half, targeting both of the Hufflepuff's opponents. Sarah would attempt to dodge, but the spell still managed to make contact, leaving both Slytherins aflame. Santario's spell would easily make contact with Willow, who tried to dodge far too late. Sarah would attempt to cast a tongue-tying jinx at Willow, but because of her attempt to evade an incoming attack, the spell would fire wide and not come near Willow.

Ana was more than a little exasperated with her duellists. Santario was insisting that she had no problem with Willow while Willow was shrieking about puberty. Ana knew there were spells that could turn one into a turtle, and how dearly she wished she knew them. Sadly, instead of turtling, she would simply press her lips together in a tight line and continue to watch the dumpsterfire duel in front of her.

There was something satisfying about all of the duelling knowledge that one had coming to a pinnacle to cast a perfect spell. Spell Spread was not something that Willow was particularly adept at yet, having varying hit or misses with it's success. But this. The spell seemed to flow right out of her wand, truly becoming an extension of her. She wasn't even that mad that she only hit Sarah partially. The true pride came in all of her work showing out.

Even if she didn't win the duel, she was proud of the fight that she had put up so far. Even if right now moving slowly was incredibly aggravating.

[font=century gothic]Sarah barely saw the flames coming straight towards her before she was engulfed by them. She’d just about managed to turn slightly out of the way - her left side taking the brunt of the spell - but from the corner of her eye she could see San hadn’t been able to dodge the fire at all. She raised her wand to cast at Willow, though a mixture of the pain radiating from the flames around her and the clenching of her jaw to stop herself from yelping caused the spell to miss. Luckily her partner had more luck at hitting Willow this round despite the flames surrounding her. Sarah turned to look at San who nodded at her knowingly, a silent conversation the Slytherins both understood perfectly. They knew their next move; they could do this.

For whatever reason, the talking on both sides of the field ceased. Perhaps everything had been said, perhaps they needed a moment to breath before resuming the verbal duel, or perhaps they did not want to run risk of being turned into turtles after all.

Willow knew she could not dodge, she could barely even move, each motion feeling like she had to fight through thick mud. So instead, she aimed her wand at the sky: With an expertly cast Weather-Modifying Charm, she summoned a stormcloud above the Vipers' heads, one that was was crackling ominously with the promise of lightning. But it did not yet strike. Not yet.

Santario and Sarah had clearly noticed that Willow was not to be underestimated, so their next move was a coordinated attempt of making the Badger unable to cast - for as long as possible. A Disarming Charm tore the wand from her grip before she could so much as take a step to the side, and while she perhaps tried to track its course with her eyes, a Blindfold wrapped around her head snugly, leaving her unable to see anything. Wand lost and blinded, it would take her a while before she could perform another feat as the impressive firestorm she had conjured before.

Willow must be someone impressive. Someone that struck fear into Santario and Sarah's hearts. "Metelojinx!" She pointed her wand up at the sky, forming a couple of storm clouds above the girls. Trying to expand her threatening presence to surround them. Badgers were not to be trifled with.

It was only reasonable when they removed her sight and wand from her once more. Otherwise they knew she would beat them. Removing her ability to cast was surely the only way they saw fit to defeat her. There was a small part of her filled with joy, another part of her that was filled with the realization of just how much power wizards truly had.

[font=century gothic]There was something about thunderstorms which Sarah had always loved. The strange warmth which seemed to come just before and the beauty of lightning reaching across the sky - so beautiful yet so untouchable. This love of lighting did not however stretch to the storm she could hear crackling to life above her head. The slight flashes of light and snaps of thunder not instilling wonder into the Slytherin but unease. She knew they could be struck at any moment and could do very little evade the strike if it did come. She tried not to think of it, already in enough pain from her flaming robes, and focussed on casting herself.

“Obscuro,” the word held confidence despite her moment’s unease at the storm brewing above her head. She smirked as the silent strategy she and Santario had concocted worked beautifully - Willow’s wand flying out of her hand once again and a thick black cloth tying firmly around her eyes. It provided a moment’s calm as Sarah realised that at least the flames around her would not get worse until Willow could once again see and cast. Her skin already felt as though it was melting from her body and she found herself wondering, not for the first time, why the professor’s even allowed this spell to be used in duels to begin with. Still, she grit her teeth, not letting another pained slip past her lips, more than aware that her partner was hit with the brunt of the spell and likely in more pain than she was.

A blindfolded opponent made for an easy target. Yet, surprisingly, there was only one wand pointed at Willow, despite the opportunity to strike: Sarah sought to repay a favour in kind, and summoned flames to throw at the Badger. While Willow made a decent attempt at dodging despite her blindfold, the flames still easily found their target, and at the same time that the flames would finally die down on the Vipers' side of the piste, Willow would find her own robes aflame.

Meanwhile, Santario was more worried about the brewing thunderstorm overhead, but also had an easy solution to it: With a sweep of her wand and the proper incantation, she summoned a gust of wind to blow the clouds across the stage, where they would now grumble ominously at their caster.

Willow's first priority, to no surprise, was to get rid of her blindfold. She reached up with nimble fingers, and just a moment after being hit by the flames, managed to bring some light back into her world.

Spectator Thread

The black cloth that had wrapped around her head tightly was undone by quick fingers frantic to search for her extension, the thing that could still help her win. As she slipped it off she saw the clouds floating menacingly over to her. Almost simultaneously, flames started licking at her robes. She was still feeling strong. Menacing eyes looked across the piste. For a moment, Willow longed for Lydia back by her side. But there was no use in longing for something that couldn't be brought back.
