He’s known it might happen. It was a large possibility as he’d made his move to cast once again, but he’d been willing to gamble. And that is what he got.

A face full of wind would knock some of the wind out of him. Somehow he hadn’t even thought to try and dodge it as was so natural to the small boy. Oh well. Was all he could think, looking at the two opponents sitting at the other side of the field. What an exciting match.

There was something ironic about both of them going for Aida, not only that but Galton would also go for.... him? Alan sidestepped in surprise when he felt a gust of wind come his way. "Watch it!" he exclaimed before he could see his own spell rebounding in Phaedra's shield as it headed back to him. Alan would wheeze, quite painfully so as his chest heaved with laughter uncomfortably as laughter was forced past his lips. "Oh Merlin, no, ahahaha-" he shook as he tried to gather himself enough to focus. He would need to stay focus, but something was just so... incredibly funny it forced him to laugh likely at the irony of hitting himself with the laughing spell.

In a show of desperation, Phaedra cast a stellar Protego to protect herself, reflecting Gryffindor's assaults back into their faces where it belonged. On taking the stage, she'd urged Aida that the lions would have to work for their victory, and now could only hope that with all their brawn they'd continue their predictable behavior. She took another stance, wand warming her fingertips. There was more where that came from.

At this rate it was possible that this duel could go on forever. What would it be like to be trapped in a room with 4 duellists. Would there be snack breaks? Water breaks? Bathroom breaks? These were the real questions of the possible infinity duel.

Phaedra was determined to prolong it by attempting to heal herself and Aida, and heal she did. A purple circle appeared above her head and Aida's, covering them in a beautiful healing light that would leave them feeling more invigorated than they did before. Aida went for Galton once more, leaving him laughing and now uhhh... on fire. Which was truly a sight to see.

Alan attempted to blast Phaedra with more water, the spell going off successfully but she was able to dodge the spell that was turning the duelling piste into a water park. Galton of course went for what now had to be his signature move. But this time, it was not successful in the way that he needed. Phaedra and Aida had probably now become used to his tricks, sidestepping the gusts with ease. Though, Phaedra just barely missed getting hit with it.

The fifth year would cast the familiar spell and it went great, if it wasn't for the fact that he had missed Phaedra. Not by a lot, he was sure it actually nearly connected with the girl, but his laughter had made it difficult to aim. At least by the end of it his laughter had died down and the aching of his chest was relieved, which felt nice. Galton was not as lucky and the boy still couldn't throw of the fit of laughter, which made Alan wonder if he was going to be okay. But the boy said nothing so he was sure it would be fine to go on. The opposite team was growing annoying, if it hadn't been for that shield that had rebounded all spells onto their team, then the Gryffindor could remain relaxed. But now he was no longer sure who was in the lead and that was worrisome. It was his first duel and he wanted to be victorious. Also Tiger was watching and wouldn't let him live it down if he would lose against a team that had birds as their iconic animal. After all they were below felines on the food chain... mostly.

Phaedra pulled off another exceptional play and Aida shot her a look of wonder. The older classmate was a sight to behold, making Aida only want to fight harder to be worthy of such a duelling partner. Urged on by the need to be even a fraction as cool as Phaedra, Aida launched her spell at Galton and stared at the bizarre scene of a laughing burning boy. He looked like madness itself. Yet, Aida still had to dodge, and so she did.

In a brief moment of peace that followed, the white witch smiled at Phaedra in a show of appreciation. If only Aida could perform so well under pressure, maybe she would earn Alexander's respect. The only way was to try, and keep trying, even when no one was watching. Scanning the crowd, Aida wondered if anyone she knew was out there. There were so many people. Ugh, if she kept looking she would become claustrophobic. Shaking it off, the albino knew she had to stay on target and readied herself for the next turn of events.

If there was one thing that remained consistent, it was her spellcasting. Phaedra and her wand were a unit; a result of years of dedication and mutual understanding. She may not have had ample opportunity to look as flashy as Galton, but her spells were powerful when they needed to be. Feeling rejuvenated, Phaedra ducked. Her robes ruffled as the gust flew by, the only sensation as she braced for an impact that never came. Despite the close call, things were looking more even now. She gave Aida a nod of approval.

Galton was stiff. His arms and legs lagged as he raised his wand ever so slightly. Small hands tickled away at his sanity as he stood on the stage. The ravens circled around him as his frustration grew. Amongst the growing angst, whispers of lost wisdom rang out. Be the leaf. Galton needed to stay loose. Be the slippery little lad that others knew you to be. With a deep breath, as the flames and hands are away at him he would let his limbs hang loose, and his mind let go of it’s thoughts. He’d act only on his base instinct now.

Two minds think alike, or something like that phrase, in this round. The teams seemed to have synced up, working in tandem.

Alan healed Galton who was beginning to look a little worse for wear. He didn't get a big boost, but enough to sustain him through the end of his painfully joyous laughter and fire without any further damage. Galton took the safe route, dodging the incoming spells and it paid off.

Phaedra and Aida both attacked with the knockback jinx, one that could cause a hefty amount of damage. But it did have to hit to achieve that. Phaedra's spell was successful, but Galton was prepared and dodged it like he was born to dodge. Aida however suffered a betrayal that hurt the most, her wand backfiring. The powerful witch suffered at the hands of her own spell, taking the damage that was supposed to hit Galton.
