Lucia was way too nervous about this. When Henry had asked her (her!! Why her?! Why not Alexa?) to oversee a duel (a duell!!), her first reaction had been something along the lines of, 'Um, sure, I guess,' and now she was stuck with it. Well, she supposed that she could just not bother to turn up, but... that would be incredibly mean of her, not to mention rude. At least she knew the other moderators moderately (haha, get it?) well: there was @Henry Knight of course, Alexa's boyfriend, and @Cassandra Ironwoods, whom Lucia still counted as a friend even if she hadn't actually talked to them in a few weeks, and... @Rose Moon. Lucia was rather spitefully interested to see how the duel which Rose was moderating this afternoon would turn out. Seeing as how she'd accused second-year Lucia of cheating after she'd been beaten in a fair duel (no, Lucia was not over it), Lucia was certain she'd take sides. Although, she had no idea what side Rose would take: there weren't any Gryffindors or third years in her match, so it was unlikely she'd know any of the duellists. Still, though. Lucia was determined to believe the worst of Miss Rose Moon.
Having arrived early to make sure that everything was set up, Lucia was now ready to call up her duellists. "This is gonna be so weird," she murmured to herself, glancing over at the resident 'responsible adult' in the room, @Kit Paine, whose presence reassured her that nothing would go horribly wrong. Still, though, what was Lucia meant to do if it did? She'd never moderated a duel before! She'd watched them, of course, and they'd done a few excerises in duelling training where they'd had to spot who was breaking rules or what someone was doing wrong, in order to spot it in themselves and their teammates, but she'd never had to actually enforce anything. What if they just ignored her? What if nobody turned up? What if-
But there was no better time than the present. Lucia made to cup her hands around her mouth before realising that she needed to see the parchment she was holding in order to read from it. "CASH! Um, CASSANDRA IRONWOODS! AND SAMANTHA SALWIS! AND CODY STEVENSON, AND HILD- HILDEGARD-" Oh, Merlin save her, she was going to completely butcher this and Hildegard would hate her for life. She gave it her best shot. "S-CH-NIDE-ER?" That was wrong. It was utterly and completely wrong, Lucia was sure of it, and her cheeks flushed as she promptly considered the action of wearing some sort of mask so nobody would know who she was. "IT'S YOUR DUEL!"
Once the duellists had made it up and Lucia presumably hadn't fallen drop dead from embarrassment, she gave them a little awkward wave. "Um, so you know the rules, right? You probably don't know the rules. Uh, no physical contact... You can't use non-duelling spells... Um... Don't kill anyone? Don't turn on your own teammates? That's not just cheating, that's incredibly mean and incredibly stupid." That was it, right? Yeah, that was probably it. Did they know who they'd been paired with already? Lucia was pretty sure they didn't. "Um, Cash, you're with Samantha, and Cody and Hildegard, you're in a pair. " Lucia ushered them to separate ends of the stage and took a deep breath. "You may begin!"

Samantha took every opportunity to improve her dueling skills, so it was no surprise that she signed up for the unofficial duels. It would be a great way to practice before her first official duel.
Samantha had already spotted Cash and hoped to be able to duel against them. Samantha would be more then happy to cast a few spells at Cash. Maybe lit them on fire, blindfold them or make them vomit slugs. It would be payback for that time Cash hit her with flipendo and it would just be fun, they deserved it, according to Sam.
After the names of the duelist were called, Samantha quickly made her way to the stage. She had never heard of Hildegard Schneider or Cody Stevenson, however she was way too familiar with the name Cassandra Ironwoods. Samantha didn't know who she was paired up with, but hoped that it was the small boy or the girl with black hair, as long as it wasn't Cash. They needed to be on the other team so she could beat them.
The brunette replied to Lucia's wave with a warm smile. Samantha would never turn on her own teammate, except maybe if it was Cash, but there was no way that would happen. At least, that was what she thought before Lucia spoke again. Samantha's eyes widened in shock, "WHAT!? You've got to be kidding me." She gave Cash, who was her now duelling partner, a dirty look. Partners with Cash, the idea disgusted her.
Annoyed by the pairs, she walked to the end of the stage and took her place. She turned to Cash with her eyes full of hate. "Whoever paired us together must be as stupid as you are, which says a lot," Samantha had kept her voice down, so that the Slytherin students was the only one who could hear her. She hated the person who put her and Cash together, but she still hated Cash more. The insult was more meant for Cash then for the person who had paired them up, since they probably had no idea about the relationship between Samantha and Cash.
Samantha raised her wand, she would show Cash how good she was at duelling. She would cast more spells then them, she would do more damage then them, she dodge more spells then them, she would show Cash that she was better.ReducioInteracting with @Lucia Fox and @Cassandra Ironwoods

Cash woke up with a smile on their face. It is a rare occasion that the gree eyes slept well let alone happy to face a new day. After Cash did their morning jog around the campus and ate their breakfast, Cash come back towards their dorm again. Took a shower then put on much fitting outfit for today's event. A month or so ago, Henry told Cash that there will be unofficial duels.
Cash being Cash well they signed up albeit their little knowledge about the sport. Many times Cash watched duels. Mainly to support Starlee but today Cash will step into that piste and prove that the Slytherin's Beater could be a duelist too even for just a day. So, after they took one last glance at the mirror that resides inside their dorm room and makes sure everything is appropriate, Cash begins their journey to the dueling club.
When Cash finally arrived at the room, they saw the other three already there. And when they saw one Samantha Salwis, Cash tried very hard not to deck the Ravenclaw's face. It seems Samantha is everywhere to just annoy the green eyes. The young socialite hangs around on the spectator stand until their name is called upon by Lucia.
The Cuban descendent suppressed their laughter when Lucia completely butchered Hildegard's last name but if Cash were in Lucia's shoes, they would have done the same thing. "You are doing great, Luce"They said supporting their friend. Even though Cash and Lucia hardly talk with each other, the green eyes still consider the other Oxoxian as their friend.
Cash then listen to the rules that Lucia cited. Then Lucia told the other fours who paired with whom. When the Badger said the young Ironwoods paired up with the one person Cash most annoyed at, they look at Lucia and Sam alternately. "You are joking, right?!"Cash let out a protest. At the same time, Sam also lets out her own disagreement being paired with Cash.
But what was done is done. Cash took a deep breath and walked to one of the sides of the piste where Samantha already stand. "Whoever paired us together must be as stupid as you are, which say a lot,"The small stature girl said with eyes full of hate for the green eyes. "Henry! I am going to kill you, mate"Cash grumbled softly under their breath.
But Cash could not blame Henry fully since the blue-eyed boy did not know the nature of Cash and Samantha's relationship. If Henry knew, he would not pair Cash with this gremlin. "Save your breath, mud cake"Cash replied to Sam then a mocking smirk appears on their face. The way the third year reply to the other girl are calm and collected.
"We could tear and murder each other after this whole deal is over with"Cash continued. "All I care is that we win and as an experience duelist,"Cash mock Sam. "I demand you to take us all the way to our victory. Are we clear on that front, maggot?"They said with an authoritative tone and look at Sam in the eyes, waiting for her to rebuke them.
After Cash said that, they took their rightful place beside Sam. Their aspen wand on their left hand, their right feet slightly step out and they bent their knee a bit. A dueling stance like Henry once taught Cash to do so. "Bring it on!"They taunted the other two. As Lucia give the go command, Cash smirked and pointed their wand towards one of their opponent.

ACTION: owled[font=Black Jack]H[/font][font=Century Gothic]ildegard, do you have any preferences towards how I fight? Who I fight? Do you mind if I call you Hildy? Which questions could he ask? These questions rushed through his heads like race cars on a speedway.
Well. It was a duel after all. A time for the kiddos to fight, The disasterous events will occur if the Slytherins, Ravenclaw, and your very own, very much true, Hufflepuff, get into a fight. Cody knew of the consequences. He tries to push the limits as much as he could just to see what he could do and what he couldn't.
Hence, not the only reason as to why he joined Battle of Wits. It was a game of intelligence, of outsmarting someone, and that was apparently what Cody was good at, in a way. A Chaotic way.
It was like you desired something more than your normal. For instance, you normally get peace, but today, you wanted something to shake things up. It was chaos. That's what Cody desires. Only, he normally gets Chaos. Meaning his secret one day only desire, is the reverse. He wanted peace, protection, kindness. Odd.
This was odd. Regardless. It was still a battle to be won. "Hildy, you don't mind if I call you that?" [/font]

Fun she thought, it would be fun she thought. But now Hildegard was not so sure, she loved duel but this seemed to be more like future slaughter than anything else.
Two first year against one third and one second year who was in the duelling Club, they had no chance !
The disable snake looked at her designated partner, Cody from the theater club she was in, she signed.
- I guess I this is my first and last match, She thought to herself.
As she was preparing herself she heard the voice of one of her opponent complain about the pairing.
-I guess I'm not the only one who have a complain about the pairing, she said looking at Samantha who she also knew from the theater club.
-I don't mind Cody, let's try but I am not going to lie, we're dead. She replied to the boy.
Schneider had volunteer in the duel because she liked it, but she also hoped to shine a bit, which she never had the opportunity to do so far, and it included this opportunity.
So her mind wasn't really into it as much as she thought it would be, she just wanted this duel to be over with, but of course she still wanted to put up a fight.

Lucia watched in interest as the first round of the duel played out. Both teams were on the offensive here, with all four duellers sending pretty deadly spells towards their opponents.
First off the mark was the team which Lucia had inwardly christened 'Cash-and-second-year', although, from the looks which the two partners were giving each other and the insults they were exchanging (which made Lucia wince to hear), it was fairly obvious that they wished they were anything but. Lucia seriously hoped that they'd keep to the rules which she had laid out, and would refrain from getting into a fight which was anything more than insults. As it was, they actually seemed to be a pretty good team: the Flippendo which Cash shot towards - what was his name? Lucia checked the sheet. Cody - was never going to miss in a million years, and Lucia knew it was going to hurt even before it hit her fellow Hufflepuff, forcing him to stagger backwards a little.. Meanwhile, 'second-year', AKA Samantha, decided to hit Hildegard with a Tickling Charm which certainly looked like it would last a while and probably didn't do any good to her health: the first-year burst into helpless laughter.
Hildegard didn't seem too bothered though, because, through giggles, she sent a confident Incendio Cash's way, which hit easily, despite Cash's attempt to make a move away from the jet of light. Luckily for the Slytherin, though, they were saved from the humiliation which was having one's robes on fire, which must have been a small consolation at least. Maybe Cody was filled with rage at the sight of his laughing partner, or maybe Samantha was just a little too quick on her feet for his tastes, because his well-cast Knockback Jinx just missed her, leaving Samantha as the only person in the game who looked perfectly fine.

Samantha rolled her eyes at Cash their comment. "You don't get to demand anything, but it is true that I am the one who will lead us to victory, because you are useless. If we lose it will be your fault." She didn't care about the authoritative tone of Cash. She would never listen to them, never.
Hoping Hildegard wouldn't take it personal, Sam casted a spell at the younger girl. She was very satisfied when her spell hit her target and the room was filled with laughter. The Tickling Charm was a great spell, except when it hit you, then it was less fun.
The spell that was casted on her just missed her, if she had been a little slower she would have been hit. The first round was a succes according to Samantha, her spell had hit, but she hadn't been.
On top of that, her dueling partner had been hit. Most duellist wouldn't like that, but Samantha loved it. As soon as she realized that Cash had been hit, she started laughing. "You got hit by a first year!" She had a big smile on her face, this was amazing. Cash was the oldest of the group and that one of the younger students hit them was even better.
After she stopped laughing, she waved with her arms to get the attention for the other two duelists. "You guys did great!" she yelled and she meant it. Even though Cody's spell had missed her, he had done a great job. But Samantha was especially proud of Hildegard, she had hit Cash!
Cash had actually also done a great job, but she would never compliment them. The second year felt bad for Cody, she knew how it felt to be hit by Cash their flipendo and she could savely say that it wasn't the best feeling.

ACTION: owled[font=Black Jack]... Did[/font][font=Century Gothic] Cody really just fail his Flipendo against one Samantha Salwis? This was awful! Treacherous! Sad! Mournful!
It'd be better if Cody would've been hit with The Imperio Curse rather than admit defeat against a year higher than him. Even if he was dueling an adult, which was unlikely of course. Of course, he wasn't going to wish the Imperius Curse amongst himself, as he was not that kind of person. He just figured mind control was better than being aware of him losing against someone higher than him.
Chaos had it's way of making its way everywhere where Cody was, the Part Goblin accepting it, allowing it to show it's face. But at this moment, he was feeling different. He was hit by a Knockback Jinx from Cassandra. Such betrayal! Cassandra and Hildegard shouldn't be fighting each other. They should be taking down their opponents in other houses. Like Cody for instance. But the way he was paired with Hildegard was better than the thought of being paired with his enemies.
At least he was neutral towards Hildegard, however, if anyone said something that insulted Cody, he'd quickly add them onto the extensive enemy list he always carried around with him.
"Thank you for your kindness Sam, but I'm afraid I don't want any today. I'm sorry. But Hildegard will not be your punching bag anymore. Take me. Take me instead." Cody said, the part goblin talking to both Cass and Sam.[/font]

Hildegard held back her laughter as hard as she could but as that spell she got casted with was rather unexpected she did what she could.
She looked at Samantha, the girl who had casted it upon her and then switched her glare to Ironwoods who she had just tried to burn.
So now the battle had begun, the disable girl was trying to get used to the real thing, a real duel even if it was an unofficial one.
It was no more a turn to turn thing like when they practiced some spell in the classroom, she now had to quickly choose her next target looking at both of her opponent and trying not to show who she would attack next.
Schneider knew that from the duels she saw, strategy was key to victory specially when the duel was done against stronger opponent, so she better not let her strategy leak in some way or form.
It took her a few seconds to decide what to do next but now she had set her mind. She briefly looked at what Cody was doing then decided to take action as fast as she could since she had already lost enough time.

The green eyes sizing the other side. Two first year that seems tame enough and one yipping annoying of a person called Samantha Salwis that unfortunately acted as the Cuban descendant dueling partner for the day. Cash will fly out their complaint to Henry and Henry will never hear the end of it.
"You don't get to demand anything, but I am indeed the one who will lead us to victory,"Samantha said after Cash demanded that the second year should bring both of them to victory. The young Ironwoods let out a laugh. "How conceited of you,"They begin. "Just because you are a real Duellist who just begin this year, do you think you had all the experience? You are so adorable"They mocked Sam.
"Because you are useless. If we lose it will be your fault"Sam's sharp tongue did not bother Cash at all. "And if we lose, it also will be your fault too. Since you always run your mouth before you think with that empty brain of yours"The young socialite counter. "And they said Ravenclaw is the smartest and wise one. Look at you. What a joke!"The Beater added.
It is a low blow bringing up houses traits but Cash did not stand Samantha for one bit. Arguing with Sam always drained Cash's energy and was time-consuming but it seems the green eyes always took any given chance to tear down the Eagles. As much as Cash likes to beat down Sam, they have another matter to attend which is attacking their opponent.
When Lucia gave the go signal, Cash swing their wand. With perfect wand movement and accompanied with the pronunciation, Cash cast the Knockback Jinx at Cody. The red spark emitted from their wand and hit their target perfectly. Cash smiles at their accomplishment. It seems Cash and their spellcasting ability getting better each day.
The third-year were too busy basking their short victory, they did not realize that Hildegard threw her own spell into the mix until they felt a warm sensation. Well, at least they were not on fire. "You got hit by a first-year!"Samantha exclaimed happily annoyingly. Cash throw a murderous glare at Sam. "I seriously want to poke your eyes with my wand if you do not shut the hell up!"Cash threatens Sam.
The cold feeling inside of them started to arise. Cash knows they always got this dark side inside of them whenever they felt agitated. The green eyes hoping that they did not actually murder Sam no matter how annoying she is.
