Dee wondered if she imagined the sense of desperation in the air. Both sides had one member battered enough to be knocked out by a feather landing on them too violently, and both sides knew that the team that had two members and one opponent would likely end up with the upper hand.
The next exchange of spells showed this. The Hufflepuffs had learned from the previous round with @Illowy Magnard keeping @Starlee Kennedy conscious, if barely, and adjusted their choice of spells to ones whose damage would not as easily be mitigated. Starlee, aware that two opponents casting at her would put her in a tight spot in every round to come with no room to breathe, sought to finally take @Julian Pritchard out of the game.
With Julian and Starlee aiming their wands at each other, casting the Tickling Charm and the Knockback Jinx respectively, both of them landing their blows, both sides might have succeeded, if not for two factors.
The first one was @Martyna Romero's spell failing. The Hufflepuff girl had shown very consistent casting skills so far, had landed a few solid hits, too. Yet, in this crucial moment, something went wrong, and the fire that was supposed to shoot from her wand refused to come.
The second one was, of course, Illowy. Anticipating that the Hufflepuffs would focus fire on her partner again, she once again cast a healing spell to keep Starlee in the duel, working against the damage done by Julian's spell and allowing her to remain conscious for another minute - although involuntarily laughing.
The Hufflepuff was not so fortunate.
"Halt!" Dee called, stepping forward as Julian collapsed on the stage, pushed backwards by Starlee's spell. On her signal, healers started forward, ready to take the unconscious boy to the Hospital Wing for treatment. She shot Starlee, giggling and again swaying, a critical look, but the Viper remained on her feet, so she finally nodded and stepped back again. "You can continue."

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 2
Starlee nodded back at Illowy's comments. She was right. 'Forward and focus. Just keep pushing, just keep going... just keep swimming... No no, that's a Disney movie, no swimming in dueling... back to focus. Yes... Focus.'
She knew she was still the Hufflepuff's main target. But instead of futilely dodging again, she attempted a different tactic. Head on assault. She gripped her wand tightly, and finally managed to land a shot on the ever elusive Pritchard. "Flipendo!" she shouted, aiming at the boy, managing to hit him directly, sending him backward. But not before he could send yet another Tickling Charm her way, causing her to fall into yet even more fits of laughter while still barely maintaining consciousness, thanks again to Illowy. "Not again..." she lamented between giggles, thinking back to how horribly the spell had effected her priorly. The Hufflepuff's knew what they were doing. She didn't even realized that Tina hadn't managed to get a spell off at all, her new laughter distracting her yet again.
But, at the same time, it was now two vs one, with Illowy unscathed. 'Focus, just keep going'.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 2
Banner by Lucia FoxIt was a shame that their luck could not continue.
Tina (and seemingly Julian) came to the understanding that Illowy would want to heal Starlee once again, so the two of them focused their casting on her. In that vital moment, however, Tina’s spell missed, allowing an opening for the Slytherin to knock out the already weakened Julian.
“Dammit...” she mumbled, jogging over to her partner in a bit of a frenzy. She didn’t get far before she was stopped by Dee. It was the first time Martyna recalled the Ravenclaw speaking since the start of the duel. As she watched his limp body being dragged away, the hope that Julian might get up and start firing charms again didn’t fully leave her.
Once he was removed from the stage, and Tina turned to face her partners, the reality of the disadvantage she was now at became clear to her. The odds didn’t look to be in her favour.Action: As strategisedStamina 7 • Evasion 8 • Strength 4 • Wisdom 6 • Arcane Power 8 • Accuracy 7

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 2

Illowy casted quickly to save her partner yet again as the two Second years fired of their spells, trying to keep Starlee on her feet despite her bubbling into yet another fit of giggles. Despite the annoyence of it, it was better to have a giggly partner then one splayed out on the floor. Such as the Hufflepuffs.
As the duel was halted, Illowy couldn't help but feel a little pride in her partner. Honestly she was surprised the lad survived as long as he had. As he was carried off, the older girl passed a look to her battered teammate, "Didn't I tell you at yer first duel? You will be brutal, and now you are. Be proud of yer'self." she spoke in a hushed tone in to blonde, making a small gesture to the unconscious lad.
Della gave the signal to resume and Illowy's sights set to the long Puffball.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

With only one Badger left on the stage, the Vipers changed tactics. Expecting @Martyna Romero to keep her attention focused on @Starlee Kennedy, the younger Slytherin, laughter still bubbling out of her, got ready to dodge any and all incoming spells - which was one more than expected.
Not only did Martyna send a well near perfect Dancing Feet Spell her way, but @Illowy Magnard's focus seemed off too: First, her Wind Jinx sputtered at the tip of her wand, seemed close to failing for a moment. Only Illowy's expertise as a caster saved her from disaster, but this effort appeared to affect her aim, and the spell, instead of shooting straight towards Martyna, curved towards her younger partner instead.
Thankfully, Starlee was nimble on her feet, despite her sorry state, and dodged left and right like a pro, neither spell coming even close to hitting her. She would also feel the laughter finally ebb off, the ability to breathe normally perhaps providing a bit of relief.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 2
This certainly felt a bit easier now that it was two on one. Sure, Starlee felt like she was only moments away from fainting, but she was doing her best to push off that feeling the best she could. She had to keep going, 'be brutal, and now you are...' just as Illowy said. Although it was still certainly hard to feel that way when one was giggling non-stop. She decided once again to take a break from the spell casting and dodge any oncoming attacks from Tina. She saw Tina's coming a mile away, and nimbly dodged. As she finished, she caught another flash of light from the corner of her eye, and dodged a rogue spell from Illowy. After all the chaos of missed spells that had already ensued, she wasn't expecting the fourth year to join in on it. Perhaps she was just testing her? Surely it wasn't an accident.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 2

Illowy bit her cheek when her spell took a wrong turn. Not that she was about to admit it. What the heck was up with these Puffles? Did they have so kind of forcefield around them or something for all these spells to go rogue? Thankfully, Starlee seemed to be ahead of the game concerning both spells that went her away.
The last thing she needed was to be the reason her own teammate got knocked out. Just refocus, keep your head in the game, she told herself, shifting her stance slightly. They'd make quick work of this little lone badger.
Flicking a quick look to the little blonde at her side, she tried to quickly assess their position. Starlee was looking worse for the wear, despite what was left of her little giggle fit. Every spell, every shift of their feet, every decision was going to count from here on out if Starlee was going to stay in the match. Illowy just needed her to hang in there for as long as possible.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Banner by Lucia FoxSpells were firing left right and centre, but Starlee was determinedly dodging every last one of them. At this point, Tina had to bend down to catch her breath, hands on her knees as she huffed. Things were significantly more difficult when it was 2 VS 1.
If Illowy's spell had hit her, she'd probably be toast by now.Action: As strategisedStamina 7 • Evasion 8 • Strength 4 • Wisdom 6 • Arcane Power 8 • Accuracy 7

It seemed that @Martyna Romero was starting to run out of steam. Facing two opponents alone was a challenge (not that Dee had ever been in the position, usually being knocked out before her partner), and it seemed to get to her, for she didn't seem to even attempt to cast a spell.
@Illowy Magnard and @Starlee Kennedy had decided to go on full offense, perhaps figuring that even if Starlee ended up unconscious, Illowy could win against Martyna by herself, and aimed a Wind Jinx and a powerful fire spell at Martyna.
Thankfully, the odds she was facing did not appear to stunt her ability to dodge spells, and she managed to quickly dodge out of the way of Starlee's spell. Illowy, however, seemed to have anticipated the movement, and although Martyna made a good attempt at evading the wind as well, the gust still hit her squarely, pushing her off balance and swirling around her. It would be harder for her to stay as nimble in the moments to come.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 2
Illowy hadn't said anything about her earlier rogue spell, and Starlee certainly wasn't going to mention it herself, so she kept her gaze focused upon Tina. The one thing she was thankful for was that she was no longer giggling like a crazy person. She took a deep breath, and proceeded to attempt to light Tina on fire.
She recalled from the previous years duel that she had watched Tina be lit on fire and initially she contemplated the choice of spell. But... it was allowed, and obviously Tina had recovered, so was there really so much harm in trying it now? Starlee was only moments away from getting knocked out, surely Tina would understand. She wasn't going to hold back now.
"Incendio Duo!" she shouted, and watched as Tina was able to dodge her spell, making her way right into Illowy's wind jinx. How was it that Illowy was able to know just where Tina would dodge? It was quite amazing actually. Starlee had also braced herself for what she figured was the end, but nothing came from Tina's wand. Perhaps she was more focused on dodging? She considered wishing Tina luck, but was that a bit patronizing at this point? Her partner had been knocked out and she was looking worse for wear as well. Not that Starlee herself was only moments away from collapsing as well.
Starlee continued to take deep breaths to keep herself standing, hoping this would be over soon, and she could come out of it still conscious.
