"Juicy." Thomas raised an eyebrow. "Right. Okay, weirdo, we'll look at the mud puddles later," the Ravenclaw referenced the eel zone, watching as the proceedings occurred."Oooh, wow. It's getting juicy, Thomas!"It was true, these words were venomous in nature and rather cruel, and Thomas hardly saw cause for it all! The accusations and threats of murder were being flung with reckless abandon, and the young Ravenclaw couldn't help but remain silent as Sylvie offered her commentary on the matter. Bizarre was the only word he could think to assign to the entire situation, and he too watched with great interest."Why is he calling her a hag? That's not nice! She's just trying to defend herself, look!"
People were getting bitten, crushed, attacked as pandemonium struck. How bizarre. Thomas had witnessed quite a lot of fighting in his day, but Erin Ryan's positively gruesome behavior was... Startling. Rather than react immediately with violence towards her, no doubt the kneejerk reaction of someone who had their head properly aligned on their shoulders, the Ravenclaw looked to Sylvie as she spoke."The girl, she's not... Acting right." People out of their right mind did not deserve to be treated like dogs, put down for acting outside of the normal. Granted, Erin was literally biting people like a dog, Perhaps Thomas was misunderstanding the situation, but it hardly mattered at this point. He had already made up his mind as he proclaimed, firmly, "Why are they trying to kill her!? She needs help, a trip to St. Mungos, not the death penalty! Who in their right mind decides something like that... Trick question, no one sane would!" Fully enraged now, Thomas opted to voice his support of the hag woman. It wasn't a hard decision. People who he recognized were in support of her, the likes of Galton and Sylvie being the most notable, and strangers and weirdos (takes one to know one, Tom) seemed to be trying to harm her."I should go over there and give them a piece of my mind, I think."
Still, what was there to do? For now, Thomas saw no way to easily intervene in the proceedings, and he paused. "What can we do..."

''Oh sorry about that.''
He gave Vivian a nervous smile, he would try not to talk about food, but at the same time he thought of this, Samantha mentioned having chocolate frogs with her. Aldor stared at Freyja, who seemed to be waiting to be fed something, but he knew better than letting his pet rat eat anything she found.
''It is not toxic for rats, unlike dogs or cats, but it isn't very healthy for them either, the fat and sugar would probably get her sick if she eats a little too much.''
Aldor began searching through his pockets, trying to find the bag of almonds he had been carrying since he entered the festival, after a couple of seconds, he finally managed to find them, taking one out and slowly handing it to Freyja, who started eating right away, she didn't seem to mind that she was not eating a sweet, to the rodent, anyhting that she could stuff in her mouth was good enough.
''There, that should keep her happy for a while.''
He was about to put the almonds away until he recalled Vivian being hungry, he wasn't exactly sure a few almonds could really do much to keep someone's hunger under control, but he would at least offer some to her.
''You can- take some if you want, unless you think your lipstick will interrupt you, of course. Freyja should be fine with only one for now, besides, I have lab cubes for her in the dorms in case she wanted to snack on something else later tonight.''
After that he would look back at Samantha who mentioned a fight happening nearby. Aldor had noticed them before, but things seemed to be escalating at a fast pace, by the time the three were starting to plan on where to go, people where falling to the ground, casting spells, screaming. He was so excited about the ball that he didn't even realise the chaos happening around the three of them, proffesors, older students, was there anyone who would do something to stop them?
A bunch of Second Years were going to be able to do anything about this, the few spells they have learnt between First and the beggining of their Second would be nothing compared to whatever madness was happening near them.
This was the first time he saw something this awful with his own eyes, he thought that they may be acting at first, after all, it was time for some Halloween scares. But he was pretty sure he just saw somone losing a chunk of skin by getting bit by a student. He knew that Hogwarts wasn't exactly known for being the safest place in the world, but he wasn't sure he expected to see this today.
''We should- stick with Samantha, Vivi. And we should probably move, quick.''
Actions: Talking with Samantha and Vivian, begining to panic as he noticed the horror unfolding.

Jack and Aaron had it set up so they could get ready and set up for the ball together. It was pretty great seeing his buddy wrapped up in his fancy duds, all the while, Jack was wearing a nice pair of jeans, along with a flannel shirt. But, of course, he didn't have it buttoned up because Jack didn't want to look like a complete nerd. His date, Dealla, had decided on a more casual look that fit the theme. No dresses, no ties, just nice comfortable clothing. There wasn't any need to contact his mother, who would have gone for all the bells and whistles with the outfit. So there wasn't any need to inform her of his first actual 'date' to a ball—what a delightful coincidence.
Getting dressed didn't take too long, but waiting on his friend felt like it took forever. The boy had slung himself over the arm of one of the many couches that rested in the common room, like a wet rag, and sighed dramatically when he finally found his friend coming up to meet him. Friggin' took him long enough. Then, like a rocket to the moon, they had taken off.
Now being on time wasn't exactly Jack's strong suit. He had a reputation of tardiness to maintain, of course. But, on the other hand, it wasn't like anything too wrong was going to happen with Aaron. They had agreed on splitting up and finding their dates, so no worries. The status lateness was intact. As soon as they arrived, Jack had peeled off while bidding Mr. Jones a 'see ya' in a bit.' Then, like ships passing in the night, they each went their direction.
Now here's the kicker, the two, Jack, and Dealla had decided to arrive fashionably late, so it wasn't hard to just slip out and wait. So that was precisely what the former prefect did. He dropped out and waited. Of course, he'd wait until his lovely ball date would arrive. As if like magic, the boy finally caught sight of Miss Prince. "Dee! Hey" He would excitedly wave his hand in the air. They could finally enter the ball, even though they should probably run away and escape the chaos from the ball.
Being fashionably late, yet early for the ball. Meeting up with @Dealla Prince!

Action: Enter the ball, woo! Late as always!

Hugh hands latched onto something bulbous and round, it was only after tightening his grip, he could feel his fingers reaching through hair. His legs might have been wound up in tape, but it didn't stop the almost eight-foot boy to rise against his attacker. With a slow and straining pull, the part-giant lifted Hess off the ground. Eyebrows twitching and teeth grinding down upon themselves in the effort, Hugh felt tension building up between his hands. His lips tightened shut, and all Hugh felt was left to do was look Jürgen in the eyes as both his thumbs locked underneath the boy's jaw. It was over in the blink of an eye. Hugh barely realizing what happened. Something popped and he was left with regret. But still, the rage he felt. They told Jürgen not to interfere, to listen to them. But he wouldn't. “Get out of here, Jürgen.” Said Hugh as he dropped the boy to the floor, silently watching him scramble back up to his feet.
Erin had scurried off as well, she was already leaving victims in her wake. Hugh would give both Galton and Serena a look that asked them why exactly they weren't diving head first after her. The rings of repellent were abandoned, but this fight had only just begun. Hugh looked down at his own restraints, first he needed out of those. Reaching down, his hands bundled the tape together, which stuck to both his knees. With a loud grunt of effort, the part-giant would start pulling as hard as he could. Trying to rip the tape apart. If he was to be anything close to useful in the actions to come, he would need to move about.
Action: Break tape (object/giant ability) apart to release himself.

In case Thomas' Revelio is effective (for the mods consumption):
Thomas used to comment on it himself, how Marion was 'overdone.' Those painstaking hours spent attempting to gain the proper aesthetic. Long blonde tresses and a thick spackling of cover her face. Mascara and blush, contouring and large, pouty lips enhanced with shimmering lipstick. How much was magic that changed her appearance and how much was the mundane.

Indeed, Marion would be a sight to behold without her make-up but in truth that was the problem with most women - they melt in the rain. There were some differences, minor changes in her appearance that were required. Make-up could only go so far. She was taller, by almost a foot in fact with a hunkered over posture. Her limbs, thicker. The same her midsection. What contouring could not repair, magic would. Lovely in the conventional sense in the facial area. Still donning a flirty gown and cute heels. The bare legs unshaven, the underarms possessed a shrub apiece.
The lovely Marion was hiding something, an unwillingness to shave, an extra thirty pounds and an extra foot of height. Try not to fall in love Hugh Lowe, she aint the tender loving type. For those that were willing to consider the benefits of muggle cosmetic, they would enjoy the boons of both such as now. Thomas would prove that she was hiding something - that she was hairier and larger - but she could reasonably be a part giant or a hag thanks to LeStrange's Revelio.

Val sighed in relief. "Rachel! Hey!" She grinned as the girl approached her. "Hey! You look quite brilliant as well! Your dress matches your hair perfectly!" She exclaimed. Val wasn't a fashion expert, but she was telling the truth. Rachel did look quite nice, plus their color schemes seemed to go hand in hand.
"Oh! Is this for me?" She giggled at Rachel's formal bow. She took the silver bracelet from Rachel, taking a moment to inspect it. It seemed to match the design on Rachel's necklace, a crescent-shaped moon charm attached to the end. "Awh, this is so cute, thank you so much!" She exclaimed, slipping the bracelet onto her wrist. She turned red. "My gift seems kind of inferior compared to yours but-" she dug through a pocket in her dress before finally pulling out a simple red rose.
"It's simple, but I thought you'd like it. I found it growing in the grounds and I thought it'd make a nice gift. Again, nothing compared to your bracelet, but I hope you like it," she smiled softly.
"Oh and, it's alright. Don't worry, it wasn't that long of a wait, it actually gave me a good moment to scope out the scenery," she grinned. "Anyways, activities. Hmm. Eel-catching seems er- interesting. Would be a shame to ruin these pretty dresses though," she gestured towards them. She looked around. She didn't really know what she was looking for, something to do, where most people were heading, perhaps? "What about... the matchmaking booth? Just for fun, of course," she quickly added. "I wonder how they do it. Wanna go find out?"

Ami missed @Thomas Lestrange completely in her attempt to sweep him out of harm's way, but he seemed to be dodging and weaving Marion's advances (both romantic and physical) just fine on his own. More bodies joined in to attack the hags, although in her furry state, many of them would go either unnoticed or unrecognized. Her focus was entirely on Thomas in this moment, and what he wanted her to do. After all, she was a bear. She was kind of just... in the way, in this moment. Thomas motioned for her to stand down, and so she did, allowing him to trade verbal stabs with the pretty blonde girl. She watched his eyes dart from her to @Bridget Collins, a studious looking brunette she had no current recollection of ever encountering. Wis check because Ami's dumb: [d20: 17] + 0 = 17 Recognizing that he was insisting that he would be fine, she dropped down onto all four legs and ambled her way over to Bridget.
"I will take down Bridget and... other Percival." @Victor Moore's voice would catch the bear's attention, and she swiveled her head in his direction. She grunted her big ol' bear grunt, and her beady bear eyes darted between the girl she had been directed to protect and the boy pointing a wand at her. What to do, what to do? Perhaps she should level the playing field... or, tilt it in their favor. "Their"? She wasn't exactly sure what team she was batting for in this scenario, but she was certainly having a lot more fun than she would've been, attempting to dance with someone as a bear.
What was she thinking about, again? Ah yes, tilting the playing field. Ami's eyes locked in on the wand in Victor's hand, and growled. Her growl crescendoed into a full on roar as she leapt in front of Bridget, lunging with her teeth bared at the boy.
ACTION: Biting the crap out of Victor's hand/wand.

Everything was unraveling very quickly and none of it was to plan yet. Galton and her had managed to get their circles around, something to contain the slugs if their plan was successful. But the other four were busy making their moves on each other - and not in the romantic sense that everyone else seemed to be interested in. This was bad. Hugh was busy with the boy who had attacked him - though it looked very much like he had the upper hand in the matter. Honestly? She did not want to even look. Whatever was going on between them looked far too intense, she kind not did not want to know what just happened.
Her attention was drawn more to Erin, who was now... biting... the other girl who had suddenly gotten involved. This whole thing was devolving very quickly, though Serena was pretty sure she heard the spell that they intended on using. It looked like they might be on the right track if others were thinking the same - or everyone was horribly wrong. "Erin! No! Please! You have to let us help you!" As quickly as possible, she moved towards the girls.
A surge of panic ran through her as she noticed Erin starting to run away. "Epoximise!" She cast without hesitation as she saw Erin attempting to run out of the circle. She had to stop her, but in a way that would not hinder her too much as they still needed to get her out of the circle after the slugs were out. "Erin, please! You have to just trust us. Just this once. Just stay still, please," She begged regardless of whether or not the spell hit. She had to try and convince her to listen, just this once, "I promise we'll do everything we can to get these slugs out of you and keep you safe but you need to listen to us, even if it's scary, please," The tone of Serena's voice was a clear plead. She was begging her to listen, praying with all of her hope that Erin listened to her for once.
There was some slug repellent still left in her can. She had intended on using it on herself right after the circle was complete to try and keep the slugs away from her, in case they tried to attack when they were out. But... it looked like Tyranni might need it more. "If you still want to help, take the can and spray it on yourself," She would mutter to Tyranni, trying to get her to spray it on herself to keep her away from being Erin's target.

Paying attention to everything going on around him was quite difficult. The scene had really broken down into a frenzy a lot quicker than he had expected. It would have been so much easier to just fill his thoughts with candy and worry about little else. But he was no longer that one-track candy machine, he needed to be there for others! Be a contributing member to the school. So he had to pay attention, just like when he dueled.
Unlike dueling, there were more than three other people here. There were... a lot more. Hugh's legs were now bound, Jürgen looked like Hugh had introduced him to Merlin, Erin had bit someone; it was really chaos. If only they'd had a few more minutes to prepare. At least they had the two rings; the small goblin girl had been quick to action and had secured the second barrier. They would have to do for now.
Then Erin began moving out of the circles. Oh no. It seemed that the repellent may have started working a little too early. Jürgen's date may have jumped the gun, but Galton was gonna have to follow suit. Smart girl, just a bit premature. Oh well.
He shifted the repellent to his offhand, and readied his hand. May his aim be true. He raised his wand towards Erin. "I'm sorry, Erin!" He would call towards the girl. It was time to meet some slimy slugs - if this worked that is. Oh Merlin, please work. "Slugulus Eructo!"

Honestly, one night. Just one simple night. Couldn't the school wait to fall into absolute chaos on a night that wasn't intended for fun purposes? One night of perceived normality so she could just forget about everything going wrong. Was she asking the universe for too much? People were screaming, shoving through the crowd, throwing spells... did... did some girl who looked like she'd taken a swim in a bog just bite a chunk out of someone?? Wait, wasn't that the lass her cousin had taken to the masque ball last year?
She always thought the older girl was off, especially after the fight Erin and Kyle had instigated last year. Certainly not a moment Illowy cared to remember. Truthfully, she was still surprised that there weren't hard feelings between herself and San, after all, Illowy had raised her wand at the co-captain and threatened her. A memory though for a moment that wasn't quite so dire. back to Erin, the real problem at hand. The girl was off her rocker then... but Illowy never imagined she would have gone this far. She couldn't recall seeing much of her since coming back to school this year, but now she seemed completely unhinged.
With her pick of battlefronts she might involve herself in, and no friends in sight among the chaos that she could deduce needed her immediate help or protection; it seemed the best course of action would be trying to get Erin under control. At least long enough for someone to find an adult. Thank Godric that for once she'd opted for a simpler dress instead of a gown. Now let us pray this didn't lead to her finding herself under yet another curse after finally having the last one lifted.
Illowy shouldered her way through the crowed, drawing her wand as she kept her eyes focused on her destination. Though it seemed like Erin was gaining the sight for a new target, Percival. She wouldn't go as far to call the Perfect her friend, though her cat probably would. They'd talked by the Lake the year previous, and she had a decent impression of him. Hopefully he'd handle himself, just for a little bit. Not that she condoned using a peer as a distraction or as bait, but beggars couldn't be choosers. The girl picked up her pace until she'd finally forced herself close enough to the situation and took aim, "Pertrificus Totalus!"
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.
