The day has arrived. The day was clear and there's a slight breeze in the air on that october day. The dueling room would be filled with incarnations and strategies succeeding and failing.
Henry looked around the room, smiling to himself as he approached the platform. The third year have been fascinated with dueling for years, he was on the slytherin team but that day he wouldn't be dueling. He would be overlooking and running a duel, it was a nerve wrecking experience over seeing a duel and organizing it but it also was exciting.
The teen looked over at the others, coming up with the idea of unofficial duels for a way to get everyone engaged
and organizing it had been a challenge but it would be worth it for that day.
Rose, Cash, and Lucia would be helping oversee the duels as well for the first stage and @Kit Paine would be watching the duels to make sure no one broke any rules or that the duels didn't get out of hand.
Henry looked out from the platform, wearing his slytherin dueling hoodie as he called out, " would Nicky Veronica Bennett and Adeline Hughes come onto the stage," Henry paused to allow the duo of mismatched gryffindors time to enter the stage before continuing" would Scarlet Salvatore and Lily Cooper come onto the stage." A pause to allow the two second years, a slytherin and a ravenclaw onto the stage.
Three of the duelists happen to be friends of the lad and three of the four are duelists for their house teams.
Nicky is a happy bubble third year gryffindor who seems like she doesn't have any fears and a determination to reach her goals. Nicky held the most advantage that day, since she will be the only third year on the field and on the gryffindor team.
Adeline Hughes another friend of Henry, a red hair gryffindor who like the others is a second year. She also held a position on the gryffindor team and seem to have a knack for staying out of trouble and running away from authority after a prank is pulled, will this ability she has prove useful for the duel.
Scarlet Salvatore, a friend and fellow wolf. The girl is a second year, slytherin with a strange presence that emits from her and seems to distract anyone that meets her eyes. The lad knew he couldn't be bias or root for anyone, but the miniscule part of him was in the girl's corner. They aee packmates after all...
Lily Cooper, a second year ravenclaw duelist who experienced both wins and losses in official duels. The teen heard that the girl is gifted in both charms and dada, that she learned spells in both of those classes a year earlier. Will the advanced spells be the key to winning today or will they lay forgotten?
Henry looked at both team, they all have a chance to rename their teams to anything they want instead of team one and two. Henry smiled softly as he glanced between the two and spoke "I think you all know the rules, I wish you all luck and may the best team win." Henry looked around at all four duelists, leaving his wand in his porch as he took a step back and started the duel.
"Let the duel begin!"

Today was a good day for dueling. After joining her house team and getting a taste of what this sport was like, Addie was itching for more, and at the same time, she was supporting a friend, since Henry was one of the people who had organized this entire event.
Adeline couldn’t have been more excited for this match up, either. She would be fighting alongside the first real friend she had met at Hogwarts, Nicky, and on the other side of the stage was yet another BOOM member. Being surrounded by people she knew made this match feel more significant, though Addie wasn’t sure why, and despite her familiarity with one of her opponents, she had no intention of going easy on them. All that mattered to Adeline in this moment was winning, and she wouldn’t settle for anything less.
As she heard Henry call her name, Addie confidently strode up the steps to the dueling stage, her smile tinged with arrogance.
“Let’s crush it,” she whispered over to Nicky as their opponents joined them onstage.
“May the best team win!” she smirked at the other team as she raised her wand and readied herself for the duel to begin. Addie took a slow breath in and out and bounced up and down slightly on the balls of her feet. She had to make sure she was on her toes and ready to dart out of the way of any incoming spells.

Finally. A proper duel. A proper chance to put any duelling skills that she might have to the test. Scarlet listened as two of her fellow BOOM members got called up as part of the first pair, a large smile appearing on her face when she was called up as part of the opposing pair.
She looked over to the Ravenclaw that she had been paired with, the girl was in her own year, at least Scarlet was pretty sure she was, she wasn't someone she knew. If Scarlet remembered correctly, that put the two of them at a slight disadvantage, their opponents had one year up on them with Nicky being a third year. But Scarlet was confident that the disadvantage wouldn't decide the end result of the duel. They could take them.
Readying her wand, "and they will, do you want us to mention you in our victory speech?" she said in response to Adeline's comment, before turning to face her teammate. "We got this!" As nervous as she was, she also couldn't be more excited to be taking part in her first proper duel, and as competitive as the whole thing was, she was still against friends, it was almost a shame that she would have to cause them to suffer a crushing defeat.

One of them a third year. Not very balanced teams... You have no right to complain, you are the one who decided to join. Like in the maze. Except that you got out of the maze. You actually started a fire!
You walk on stage smiling at Scarlet. You have to have the same ideas. This is when you wonder why telepathy doesn't exist. Adeline, the second year Gryffindor, begins by wishing the four of you good luck. Scarlet replies and you fill in:

Then you answer Scarlet:

Nicky jumps up on the stage after Addie. This is different from real duelling. There is still a thrill, sure, but no pressure about the honor of your house or having to be perfect. She can do whatever she wants, Addie and her might as well lose the thing but no one is going to be disappointed in them. Obviously, their team is the most supportive and their captain is the greatest, but if they lost an official duel, they would feel like they let everyone down. Here, there is no judgement and no pressure included whatsoever and it feels nice. What makes it even more interesting is that almost the whole boom squad is here. Henry is overseeing the duel and she waves at him. Scarlet is standing in front of them, which would complicate things but it doesn't since it's not a match between houses, just a friendly test of strength. And Addie is her partner for this event which is also nice. They don't have to get acquainted, don't need any icebreakers, they already know each other well and know they've got each other's backs better than anyone in Gryffindor ever could.
"YES! LET'S SHOW'EM WHO'S THE POWERHOUSE!" - she whispers back to Addie.
Nicky turns to Scarlet with a wide smile and waves.
"Thank you! We'll most definitely give you an honorable mention if we win too!"
She smiles at everybody on the stage.
"Good luck to everyone, let's rock this duel!"
"YES! LET'S SHOW'EM WHO'S THE POWERHOUSE!" - she whispers back to Addie.
Nicky turns to Scarlet with a wide smile and waves.
"Thank you! We'll most definitely give you an honorable mention if we win too!"
She smiles at everybody on the stage.
"Good luck to everyone, let's rock this duel!"

Henry glanced at each duelist, excitement rose in the lad about overseeing his first proper but uncoiffcial duel.
At his signal to start the duel, spells from both directions shot by the third year making him wonder which side to look at first.
A warm and bright glow called his attention from two gryffindors side, looking over Henry saw that Nicky produced a amazing and perfect incendio duo. Watching as she sent it straight over to Scarlet, the lad flinched a little bit when the prefect incendio duo hit her right in the chest.
Henry wanted to run over to help but restrained himself, he knew that he couldn't. This was a duel after all and all he is suppose to do is oversee it and not interfere unless necessary.
Nicky's partner, Adeline didn't have the same success as Henry watched her knockback jinx fly right by Scarlet maybe it was due to the fact that Scarlet was on fire or perhaps it was because if another reason...
Scarlet's own flipendo missed Adeline to, the two friends seem to have a eye for each other so perhaps they would be happy that their spells missed their mark or maybe not.
Henry wondered how the fourth duelist was doing as he looked over at Lily who was about to send a cruse of bogies at Adeline but caught Scarlet's eye and something about the girl distracted her causing her to miss her spell.
First round was done. Four spells were spoken but only one hit, Nicky would receive the title of 'duel opener' here and there was some damage taken for sure but it's still early in the duel. Anything can happen as Henry debated commentary on the duel or not....

Nicky winced when her spell hit Scarlet. It must have hurt. Incendio was one of the nastiest spells on the list but also one of the most effective ones. She didn't really like the idea of fighting one of her closest friends at Hogwarts but duelling was duelling. They were on the different sides of the barricade. She didn't want Scarlet to suffer but she couldn't let Addie down and make their team lose. And therefore she picked a spell that would help them get closer to victory, not one that would not include fire and pain. The flames would be put out sooner or later anyway and the spell wasn't designed to kill, only to distract and hurt a little. No, Nicky did not find it convincing, so she was still overcome with guilt but once again, she couldn't just stop fighting or go easy on her friend. So she only yelled "Sorry!" hoping it would be enough for Scarlet to forgive her. After all, this happened all the time. Friends being on different Quidditch teams, different duelling teams. Maybe one day she would have to face Scarlet in a real duel. Or Henry. She hoped it would never happen of course, but it was still a possibility she had to consider. So she just decided to have as much fun as it was possible, given the circumstances.
She smiled at Addie.
"Come on, we can do even better than this!"
She smiled at Addie.

It seemed that staying on her toes had paid off as Addie deftly dodged incoming spells from both of her opponents.
“Oh, come on. You’re going to have to try harder than that,” she jeered, sending her own spell at Scarlet. A slight groan escaped Addie’s mouth as she watched her Flipendo go wide, missing her target. You’re going to have to try harder than that, her own words echoed back in her mind. Her words meant nothing if she couldn’t back them up with actions.
Thankfully, Nicky had been more successful than she had, as Scarlet’s clothing caught flame. Addie could only imagine how horribly those burns hurt, but unfortunately, this was a necessary part of winning. Really, the kindest thing she could do would be to win the match as quickly as possible to end the suffering of her opponents. A menacing smirk spread further across Addie’s face.
“Nice one, Nicky!” she congratulated her friend. “You’re right, we can do better.” she responded to her teammate’s brief encouragement.
Addie shook away the small amount of hurt pride she felt from her missed jinx and focused on what was next. She consciously placed her weight over the balls of her feet once more. It had served her well before, and perhaps it would again.

Scarlet looked to her fellow snake and the one overseeing the duel, waiting for him to get the duel underway. It seemed that everyone else was as eager as she was to get their spells out, with Nicky beating Scarlet to the mark.
A short burst of flames were sent flying straight towards her, Scarlet didn't even have time to think about which way to move, or to move at all, and the flames hit her directly in the chest. "that was pretty good," she said to the girl, looking down to where the spell had hit. Out of no-where another spell went flying past her, she looked at Adeline, where the spell ad come from, "I'm glad that wasn't as good a shot," she said, relieved that the missed shot had afforded her some recovery time from Nicky's spell.
Scarlet spoke quieter to her partner now, "it seems they have a target in mind," she said, laughing a little, she refocussed herself in the game and took her shot, as much as she wanted to get Nicky back for her shot on her, Adeline had also at least aimed at her too, and she seemed an easier target. She sighed to herself when the her Flipendo flew past the girl, 'maybe Nicky would have been a better target,' she thought to herself.
With the first round over and Scarlet being the only one that was hit, she felt as that her and Lily really deserved for luck to be on their side as she readied herself for the next round.

You have to win. There are two galleons at stake. It's not much, but it's still something. And frankly, it's just an amateur duel. You can easily win. You know a few spells at the same level as Nicky. That's handy.

Indeed. You don't know if Adeline and Nicky consulted each other before the duel but they both attacked Scarlet. But you and the Slytherin didn't get together. And you attacked Adeline. Luck must be on your side for you to win.

You had to say it. To lift the mood. Even though it's probably unnecessary. Even if everything can be useful. Even if Nicky looks like an easier target, you're not going to attack him. Still! If you mess with Adeline, the Gryffindors will be equally tired and it will be easier for you and Scarlet to beat them. Your strategy is a bit lame, but that's all you can think of.[/font]===
